< Job 40 >
1 Olúwa dá Jobu lóhùn sí pẹ̀lú, ó sì wí pé,
Moreouer ye Lord spake vnto Iob, and said,
2 “Ẹni tí ń bá Olódùmarè wíjọ́ yóò ha kọ ní ẹ̀kọ́? Ẹni tí ń bá Ọlọ́run wí jẹ́ kí ó dáhùn!”
Is this to learne to striue with the Almightie? he that reprooueth God, let him answere to it.
3 Nígbà náà ni Jobu dá Olúwa lóhùn wá ó sì wí pé,
Then Iob answered the Lord, saying,
4 “Kíyèsi i, ẹ̀gbin ni èmi—ohun kí ni èmi ó dà? Èmi ó fi ọwọ́ mi le ẹnu mi.
Beholde, I am vile: what shall I answere thee? I will lay mine hand vpon my mouth.
5 Ẹ̀ẹ̀kan ní mo sọ̀rọ̀, ṣùgbọ́n èmi kì yóò tún sọ mọ́; lẹ́ẹ̀kejì ni, èmi kò sì le ṣe é mọ́.”
Once haue I spoken, but I will answere no more, yea twise, but I will proceede no further.
6 Nígbà náà ní Olúwa dá Jobu lóhùn láti inú ìjì àyíká wá, ó sì wí pé,
Againe the Lord answered Iob out of the whirle winde, and said,
7 “Di àmùrè gírí ní ẹgbẹ́ rẹ bí ọkùnrin, èmi ó bi ọ léèrè, kí ìwọ kí ó sì dá mi lóhùn.
Girde vp now thy loynes like a man: I will demaunde of thee, and declare thou vnto me.
8 “Ìwọ ha fẹ́ mú ìdájọ́ mi di asán? Ìwọ ó sì dá mi lẹ́bi, kí ìwọ lè ṣe olódodo.
Wilt thou disanul my iudgement? or wilt thou condemne me, that thou mayst be iustified?
9 Ìwọ ni apá bí Ọlọ́run tàbí ìwọ lè fi ohùn sán àrá bí òun?
Or hast thou an arme like God? or doest thou thunder with a voyce like him?
10 Fi ọláńlá àti ọlá ìtayọ rẹ̀ ṣe ara rẹ ní ọ̀ṣọ́, tí ó sì fi ògo àti títóbi ọ̀ṣọ́ bo ara ní aṣọ.
Decke thy selfe now with maiestie and excellencie, and aray thy selfe with beautie and glory.
11 Mú ìrunú ìbínú rẹ jáde; kíyèsí gbogbo ìwà ìgbéraga rẹ kí o sì rẹ̀ ẹ́ sílẹ̀.
Cast abroad the indignation of thy wrath, and beholde euery one that is proude, and abase him.
12 Wo gbogbo ìwà ìgbéraga, ènìyàn kí o sì rẹ ẹ sílẹ̀ kí o sì tẹ ènìyàn búburú mọ́lẹ̀ ní ipò wọn.
Looke on euery one that is arrogant, and bring him lowe: and destroy the wicked in their place.
13 Sin gbogbo wọn papọ̀ nínú erùpẹ̀, kí o sì di ojú ìkọ̀kọ̀ wọn ní isà òkú.
Hide them in the dust together, and binde their faces in a secret place.
14 Nígbà náà ní èmi ó yìn ọ́ pé, ọwọ́ ọ̀tún ara rẹ lè gbà ọ́ là.
Then will I confesse vnto thee also, that thy right hand can saue thee.
15 “Ǹjẹ́ nísinsin yìí kíyèsi Behemoti, tí mo dá pẹ̀lú rẹ, òun a máa jẹ koríko bí ọ̀dá màlúù.
Behold now Behemoth (whom I made with thee) which eateth grasse as an oxe.
16 Wò o nísinsin yìí, agbára rẹ wà ní ẹ̀gbẹ́ rẹ, àti ipa rẹ nínú ìṣàn ìkún rẹ.
Behold now, his strength is in his loynes, and his force is in the nauil of his belly.
17 Òun a máa jù ìrù rẹ̀ bí i igi kedari, iṣan itan rẹ̀ dìjọ pọ̀.
When hee taketh pleasure, his taile is like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapt together.
18 Egungun rẹ̀ ní ògùṣọ̀ idẹ, Egungun rẹ̀ dàbí ọ̀pá irin.
His bones are like staues of brasse, and his small bones like staues of yron.
19 Òun ni olórí nínú àwọn iṣẹ́ Ọlọ́run; síbẹ̀ Ẹlẹ́dàá rẹ̀ fi idà rẹ̀ lé e lọ́wọ́.
He is the chiefe of the wayes of God: he that made him, will make his sworde to approch vnto him.
20 Nítòótọ́ òkè ńlá ńlá ní i mu ohun jíjẹ fún un wá, níbi tí gbogbo ẹranko igbó máa ṣiré ní ẹ̀gbẹ́ ibẹ̀.
Surely the mountaines bring him foorth grasse, where all the beastes of the fielde play.
21 Ó dùbúlẹ̀ lábẹ́ igi lótusì, lábẹ́ eèsún àti ẹrẹ̀.
Lyeth hee vnder the trees in the couert of the reede and fennes?
22 Igi lótusì síji wọn bò o; igi arọrọ odò yí i káàkiri.
Can the trees couer him with their shadow? or can the willowes of the riuer compasse him about?
23 Kíyèsi i, odò ńlá sàn jọjọ, òun kò sálọ; ó wà láìléwu bí ó bá ṣe pé odò Jordani ti ṣàn lọ sí ẹnu rẹ̀.
Behold, he spoyleth the riuer, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw vp Iorden into his mouth.
24 Ẹnìkan ha lè mú un ní ojú rẹ̀, tàbí dẹkùn fún tàbí a máa fi ọ̀kọ̀ gún imú rẹ̀?
Hee taketh it with his eyes, and thrusteth his nose through whatsoeuer meeteth him.
