< Job 36 >
1 Elihu sì tún sọ̀rọ̀ wí pé,
Eliu also proceeded, and said:
2 “Fún mi láyè díẹ̀ èmi ó sì fihàn ọ́, nítorí ọ̀rọ̀ sísọ ní ó kún fún Ọlọ́run.
Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee: for I have yet somewhat to speak in God’s behalf.
3 Èmi ó mú ìmọ̀ mi ti ọ̀nà jíjìn wá, èmi ó sì fi òdodo fún Ẹlẹ́dàá mi.
I will repeat my knowledge from the beginning, and I will prove my Maker just.
4 Rí i dájú pé ọ̀rọ̀ mi kì yóò ṣèké nítòótọ́; ẹni tí ó pé ní ìmọ̀ wà pẹ̀lú rẹ̀.
For indeed my words are without a lie, and perfect knowledge shall be proved to thee.
5 “Kíyèsi i, Ọlọ́run ni alágbára, òun kò i sì gàn ènìyàn; ó ní agbára ní ipá àti òye.
God doth not cast away the mighty, whereas he himself also is mighty.
6 Òun kì í dá ẹ̀mí ènìyàn búburú sí, ṣùgbọ́n ó fi òtítọ́ fún àwọn tálákà.
But he saveth not the wicked, and he giveth judgment to the poor.
7 Òun kì í mú ojú rẹ̀ kúrò lára olódodo, ṣùgbọ́n àwọn ọba ni wọ́n wà lórí ìtẹ́; àní ó fi ìdí wọn múlẹ̀ láéláé, a sì gbé wọn lékè.
He will not take away his eyes from the just, and he placeth kings on the throne for ever, and they are exalted.
8 Bí ó bá sì dè wọ́n nínú àbà, tí a sì fi okùn ìpọ́njú dè wọ́n,
And if they shall be in chains, and be bound with the cords of poverty:
9 nígbà náà ni ó ń sọ àwọn ohun tí wọn ti ṣe fún wọn, wí pé wọ́n ti ṣẹ̀ pẹ̀lú ìgbéraga wọn.
He shall shew them their works, and their wicked deeds, because they have been violent.
10 Ó sí wọn létí pẹ̀lú sí ọ̀nà ẹ̀kọ́, ó sì pàṣẹ kí wọn kí ó padà kúrò nínú àìṣedédé.
He also shall open their ear, to correct them: and shall speak, that they may return from iniquity.
11 Bí wọ́n bá gbàgbọ́ tí wọ́n sì sìn ín, wọn ó lo ọjọ́ wọn ní ìrọ̀rùn, àti ọdún wọn nínú afẹ́.
If they shall hear and observe, they shall accomplish their days in good, and their years in glory.
12 Ṣùgbọ́n, bí wọn kò bá gbàgbọ́, wọ́n ó ti ọwọ́ idà ṣègbé, wọ́n á sì kú láìní òye.
But if they hear not, they shall pass by the sword, and shall be consumed in folly.
13 “Ṣùgbọ́n àwọn àgàbàgebè ní ayé kó ìbínú jọ; wọn kò kígbe fún ìrànlọ́wọ́ nígbà tí ó bá wọ́n wí.
Dissemblers and crafty men prove the wrath of God, neither shall they cry when they are bound.
14 Nígbà náà ni ọkàn wọn yóò kú ní èwe, ní àárín àwọn ọkùnrin alágbèrè ojúbọ òrìṣà.
Their soul shall die in a storm, and their life among the effeminate.
15 Òun gba òtòṣì nínú ìpọ́njú wọn, a sì sọ̀rọ̀ sí wọn ní etí nínú ìnira wọn.
He shall deliver the poor out of his distress, and shall open his ear in affliction.
16 “Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni pẹ̀lúpẹ̀lú ó fa wọn yọ láti inú ìhágágá sí ibi gbòòrò, sí ibi tí ó ní ààyè tí kò ní wàhálà nínú rẹ̀, ohun tí a sì gbé kalẹ̀ ní tábìlì rẹ̀ jẹ́ kìkì ọ̀rá oúnjẹ tí ó fẹ́.
Therefore he shall set thee at large out of the narrow mouth, and which hath no foundation under it: and the rest of thy table shall be full of fatness.
17 Ṣùgbọ́n ìwọ kún fún ìdájọ́ àwọn búburú; ìdájọ́ àti òtítọ́ dì ọ́ mú.
Thy cause hath been judged as that of the wicked, cause and judgment thou shalt recover.
18 Nítorí ìbínú ń bẹ, ṣọ́ra kí òtítọ́ rẹ máa bá a tàn ọ; láti jẹ́ kí títóbi rẹ mú ọ ṣìnà.
Therefore let not anger overcome thee to oppress any man: neither let multitude of gifts turn thee aside.
19 Ọrọ̀ rẹ pọ̀ tó, tí wàhálà kì yóò fi dé bá ọ bí? Tàbí ipa agbára rẹ?
Lay down thy greatness without tribulation, and all the mighty of strength.
20 Má ṣe ìfẹ́ òru, nígbà tí a ń ké àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè kúrò ní ipò wọn.
Prolong not the night that people may come up for them.
21 Máa ṣọ́ra kí ìwọ ki ó má yí ara rẹ̀ padà sí búburú, nítorí èyí tí ìwọ rò pé ó dára jù ìpọ́njú lọ.
Beware thou turn not aside to iniquity: for this thou hast begun to follow after misery.
22 “Kíyèsi i, Ọlọ́run ni gbéga nípa agbára rẹ̀; ta ni jẹ́ olùkọ́ni bí rẹ̀?
Behold, God is high in his strength, and none is like him among the lawgivers.
23 Ta ni ó là ọ̀nà iṣẹ́ rẹ̀ sílẹ̀ fún un, tàbí ta ni ó lè wí pé ìwọ ti ń ṣe àìṣedéédéé?
Who can search out his ways? or who can say to him: Thou has wrought iniquity?
24 Rántí kí ìwọ kí ó gbé iṣẹ́ rẹ̀ ga, ti ènìyàn ni yín nínú orin.
Remember that thou knowest not his work, concerning which men have sung.
25 Olúkúlùkù ènìyàn a máa rí i; ẹni ikú a máa wò ó ní òkèrè.
All men see him, every one beholdeth afar off.
26 Kíyèsi i, Ọlọ́run tóbi, àwa kò sì mọ̀ bí ó ti ní òye tó, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni a kò lè wádìí iye ọdún rẹ̀ rí.
Behold, God is great, exceeding our knowledge: the number of his years is inestimable.
27 “Nítorí pé òun ni ó fa ìkán omi òjò sílẹ̀, kí wọn kí ó kán bí òjò ní ìkùùkuu rẹ̀,
He lifteth up the drops of rain, and poureth out showers like floods:
28 tí àwọsánmọ̀ ń rọ̀ ìrì rẹ̀ sílẹ̀, tí ó sì fi ń sẹ̀ lọ́pọ̀lọ́pọ̀ lórí ènìyàn.
Which flow from the clouds that cover all above.
29 Pẹ̀lúpẹ̀lú ǹjẹ́ ẹnikẹ́ni lè ní ìmọ̀ ìtànká àwọsánmọ̀, tàbí ariwo àrá láti àgọ́ rẹ̀?
If he will spread out clouds as his tent,
30 Kíyèsi i, ó tan ìmọ́lẹ̀ yí ara rẹ̀ ká ó sì bo ìsàlẹ̀ òkun mọ́lẹ̀.
And lighten with his light from above, he shall cover also the ends of the sea.
31 Nítorí pé nípa wọn ní ń ṣe dájọ́ àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè ènìyàn; ó sí ń pèsè oúnjẹ ní ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀.
For by these he judgeth people, and giveth food to many mortals.
32 Ó fi ìmọ́lẹ̀ bo ọwọ́ rẹ̀ méjèèjì ó sì rán an sí ẹni olódì.
In his hands he hideth the light, and commandeth it to come again.
33 Ariwo àrá rẹ̀ fi ìjì hàn ní; ọ̀wọ́ ẹran pẹ̀lú wí pé, ó súnmọ́ etílé!
He sheweth his friend concerning it, that it is his possession, and that he may come up to it.
