< Job 26 >
1 Ṣùgbọ́n Jobu sì dáhùn wí pé,
And Job answereth and saith: —
2 “Báwo ni ìwọ ń ṣe ìrànlọ́wọ́ ẹni tí kò ní ipá, báwo ní ìwọ ń ṣe gbe apá ẹni tí kò ní agbára?
What — thou hast helped the powerless, Saved an arm not strong!
3 Báwo ni ìwọ ń ṣe ìgbìmọ̀ fun ẹni tí kò ní ọgbọ́n, tàbí báwo òye rẹ to pọ to bẹ́ẹ̀?
What — thou hast given counsel to the unwise, And wise plans in abundance made known.
4 Ta ni ó ràn ọ́ lọ́wọ́ láti sọ àwọn ọ̀rọ̀ wọ̀nyí, àti ẹ̀mí ta ni ó gba ẹnu rẹ sọ̀rọ̀?”
With whom hast thou declared words? And whose breath came forth from thee?
5 “Àwọn aláìlágbára ti isà òkú wárìrì, lábẹ́ omi pẹ̀lú àwọn tí ń gbé inú rẹ̀.
The Rephaim are formed, Beneath the waters, also their inhabitants.
6 Ìhòhò ni ipò òkú níwájú Ọlọ́run, ibi ìparun kò sí ní ibojì. (Sheol )
Naked [is] Sheol over-against Him, And there is no covering to destruction. (Sheol )
7 Òun ní o nà ìhà àríwá ọ̀run ní ibi òfúrufú, ó sì so ayé rọ̀ ní ojú asán.
Stretching out the north over desolation, Hanging the earth upon nothing,
8 Ó di omi pọ̀ nínú ìkùùkuu àwọsánmọ̀ rẹ̀ tí ó nípọn; àwọsánmọ̀ kò sì ya nísàlẹ̀ wọn.
Binding up the waters in His thick clouds, And the cloud is not rent under them.
9 Ó sì fa ojú ìtẹ́ rẹ̀ sẹ́yìn, ó sì tẹ àwọsánmọ̀ rẹ̀ sí i lórí.
Taking hold of the face of the throne, Spreading over it His cloud.
10 Ó fi ìdè yí omi òkun ká, títí dé ààlà ìmọ́lẹ̀ àti òkùnkùn.
A limit He hath placed on the waters, Unto the boundary of light with darkness.
11 Ọ̀wọ́n òpó ọ̀run wárìrì, ẹnu sì yà wọ́n sì ìbáwí rẹ̀.
Pillars of the heavens do tremble, And they wonder because of His rebuke.
12 Ó fi ipá rẹ̀ dààmú omi Òkun; nípa òye rẹ̀, ó gé agbéraga sí wẹ́wẹ́.
By His power He hath quieted the sea, And by His understanding smitten the proud.
13 Nípa ẹ̀mí rẹ̀ ni ó ti ṣe ọ̀run ní ọ̀ṣọ́; ọwọ́ rẹ̀ ni ó fi dá ejò wíwọ́ nì.
By His Spirit the heavens He beautified, Formed hath His hand the fleeing serpent.
14 Kíyèsi i, èyí ní òpin ọ̀nà rẹ̀; ohùn èyí tí a gbọ́ ti kéré tó! Ta ni ẹni náà tí òye àrá agbára rẹ̀ lè yé?”
Lo, these [are] the borders of His way, And how little a matter is heard of Him, And the thunder of His might Who doth understand?
