< Job 23 >
1 Ìgbà náà ni Jobu sì dáhùn wí pé,
Then responded Job, and said: —
2 “Àní lónìí ni ọ̀ràn mi korò; ọwọ́ mí sì wúwo sí ìkérora mi.
Even to-day, is my complaint rebellion? His hand, is heavier than my groaning.
3 Háà! èmi ìbá mọ ibi tí èmí ìbá wá Ọlọ́run rí, kí èmí kí ó tọ̀ ọ́ lọ sí ibùgbé rẹ̀!
Oh that I knew where I might find him! I would come even unto his dwelling-place;
4 Èmi ìbá sì to ọ̀ràn náà níwájú rẹ̀, ẹnu mi ìbá sì kún fún àròyé.
I would set out, before him, a plea, and, my mouth, would I fill with arguments;
5 Èmi ìbá sì mọ ọ̀rọ̀ tí òun ìbá fi dá mi lóhùn; òye ohun tí ìbáwí a sì yé mi.
I would note the words wherewith he would respond to me, and would mark what he would say to me.
6 Yóò ha fi agbára ńlá bá mi wíjọ́ bí? Àgbẹdọ̀, kìkì pé òun yóò sì kíyèsi mi.
Would he, with fulness of might, contend with me? Nay, surely, he, would give heed to me!
7 Níbẹ̀ ni olódodo le è bá a wíjọ́, níwájú rẹ̀ bẹ́ẹ̀ ni èmi yóò sì bọ́ ni ọwọ́ onídàájọ́ mi láéláé.
There an upright man, might reason with him, so should I deliver myself completely from my judge.
8 “Sì wò ó, bí èmi bá lọ sí iwájú, òun kò sí níbẹ̀, àti sí ẹ̀yìn, èmi kò sì rí òye rẹ̀.
Behold! eastward, I go, but he is not there, and, westward, but I perceive him not;
9 Ni apá òsì bí ó bá ṣiṣẹ́ níbẹ̀, èmi kò rí i, ó fi ara rẹ̀ pamọ́ ni apá ọ̀tún, tí èmi kò le è rí i.
On the north, where he worketh, but I get no vision, He hideth himself on the south that I cannot see him.
10 Ṣùgbọ́n òun mọ ọ̀nà tí èmi ń tọ̀, nígbà tí ó bá dán mí wò, èmi yóò jáde bí wúrà.
But, he, knoweth the way that I choose, Having tried me, as gold, I shall come forth.
11 Ẹsẹ̀ mí ti tẹ̀lé ipasẹ̀ ìrìn rẹ̀; ọ̀nà rẹ̀ ni mo ti kíyèsi, tí ń kò sì yà kúrò.
Of his steps, my foot taketh hold, His way, have I kept, and not swerved;
12 Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni èmi kò padà sẹ́yìn kúrò nínú òfin ẹnu rẹ̀, èmi sì pa ọ̀rọ̀ ẹnu rẹ̀ mọ́ ju oúnjẹ òòjọ́ lọ.
The command of his lips, and would not go back, and, in my bosom, have I treasured the words of his lips.
13 “Ṣùgbọ́n onínú kan ni òun, ta ni yóò sì yí i padà? Èyí tí ọkàn rẹ̀ sì ti fẹ́, èyí náà ní í ṣe.
But, he, is one, and who can turn him? What his soul desired, he hath done.
14 Nítòótọ́ ohun tí a ti yàn fún mi ní í ṣe; ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ irú ohun bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ó wà ní ọwọ́ rẹ̀.
Surely he will accomplish what is decreed for me, and, many such things, hath he in store.
15 Nítorí náà ni ara kò ṣe rọ̀ mí níwájú rẹ̀; nígbà tí mo bá rò ó, ẹ̀rù a bà mi.
For this cause, from his presence, am I driven in fear, I diligently consider and am kept back from him in dread:
16 Nítorí pé Ọlọ́run ti pá mi ní àyà, Olódùmarè sì ń dààmú mi.
Yea, GOD, hath made timid my heart, and, the Almighty, hath put me in terror.
17 Nítorí tí a kò tí ì ké mi kúrò níwájú òkùnkùn, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kò pa òkùnkùn biribiri mọ́ kúrò níwájú mi.
Because I was not cut off before the darkness, nor, before my face, did the gloom form a shroud.
