< Job 17 >

1 “Ẹ̀mí mi bàjẹ́, ọjọ́ mi ni a ti gé kúrú, isà òkú dúró dè mí.
“My spirit has been destroyed, My days extinguished—graves [are] for me.
2 Nítòótọ́ àwọn ẹlẹ́yà wà lọ́dọ̀ mi, ojú mi sì tẹ̀mọ́ ìmúnibínú wọn.
If not—mockeries [are] with me. And my eye lodges in their provocations.
3 “Fi fún mi Olúwa, ìlérí tí ìwọ fẹ́; ta ni yóò le ṣe ààbò fún mi?
Now place my pledge with You; Who is he that strikes hand with me?
4 Nítorí pé ìwọ ti sé wọ́n láyà kúrò nínú òye; nítorí náà ìwọ kì yóò gbé wọn lékè.
For You have hidden their heart from understanding, Therefore You do not exalt them.
5 Ẹni tí ó sọ ọ̀rọ̀ ẹ̀tàn dídún fún àwọn ọ̀rẹ́ rẹ̀ fún èrè, òun ni ojú àwọn ọmọ rẹ̀ yóò mú òfo.
For a portion he shows friendship, And the eyes of his sons are consumed.
6 “Ọlọ́run ti sọ mi di ẹni òwe fún àwọn ènìyàn; níwájú wọn ni mo dàbí ẹni ìtutọ́ sí ní ojú.
And He set me up for a proverb of the peoples, And I am a wonder before them.
7 Ojú mí ṣú bàìbàì nítorí ìbìnújẹ́, gbogbo ẹ̀yà ara mi sì dàbí òjìji.
And my eye is dim from sorrow, And my members—all of them—as a shadow.
8 Àwọn olódodo yóò yanu sí èyí, ẹni aláìṣẹ̀ sì bínú sí àwọn àgàbàgebè.
The upright are astonished at this, and the innocent stirs himself up against the profane.
9 Olódodo pẹ̀lú yóò di ọ̀nà rẹ̀ mú, àti ọlọ́wọ́ mímọ́ yóò máa lera síwájú.
And the righteous lays hold [on] his way, And the clean of hands adds strength.
10 “Ṣùgbọ́n bí ó ṣe ti gbogbo yín, ẹ yípadà, kí ẹ si tún padà nísinsin yìí; èmi kò le rí ọlọ́gbọ́n kan nínú yín.
But please return and come in, all of you, And I do not find a wise man among you.
11 Ọjọ́ tí èmi ti kọjá, ìrò mi ti fà yá, àní ìrò ọkàn mi.
My days have passed by, My plans have been broken off, The possessions of my heart!
12 Àwọn ènìyàn wọ̀nyí ń ṣọ́ òru di ọ̀sán; wọ́n ní, ìmọ́lẹ̀ súnmọ́ ibi tí òkùnkùn dé.
They appoint night for day, Light [is] near because of darkness.
13 Bí mo tilẹ̀ ní ìrètí, ipò òku ní ilé mi; mo ti tẹ́ ibùsùn mi sínú òkùnkùn. (Sheol h7585)
If I wait—Sheol [is] my house, In darkness I have spread out my bed. (Sheol h7585)
14 Èmi ti wí fún ìdíbàjẹ́ pé, ìwọ ni baba mi, àti fún kòkòrò pé, ìwọ ni ìyá mi àti arábìnrin mi,
To corruption I have called: You [are] my father. To the worm: My mother and my sister.
15 ìrètí mi ha dà nísinsin yìí? Bí ó ṣe ti ìrètí mi ni, ta ni yóò rí i?
And where [is] my hope now? Indeed, my hope, who beholds it?
16 Yóò sọ̀kalẹ̀ lọ sínú ipò òkú, nígbà tí a jùmọ̀ sinmi pọ̀ nínú erùpẹ̀ ilẹ̀?” (Sheol h7585)
You go down [to] the parts of Sheol, If we may rest together on the dust.” (Sheol h7585)
