< Job 11 >

1 Ìgbà náà ni Sofari, ará Naama, dáhùn, ó sì wí pé,
But Zophar the Naamathite, responding, said:
2 “A ha lè ṣe kí a máa dáhùn sí ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ọ̀rọ̀? A ha lè fi gbogbo ọ̀rọ̀ wọ̀nyí da ènìyàn láre?
Will he who speaks much, not also listen? Or will a talkative man be justified?
3 Ṣé àmọ̀tán rẹ le mú ènìyàn pa ẹnu wọn mọ́ bí? Ṣé ẹnikẹ́ni kò ní bá ọ wí bí ìwọ bá yọ ṣùtì sí ni?
Will men be silent only for you? And when you have mocked others, will no one refute you?
4 Ìwọ sá à ti wí fún Ọlọ́run pé, ‘Ìṣe mi jẹ́ aláìléérí, èmi sì mọ́ ní ojú rẹ.’
For you said: “My word is pure, and I am clean in your sight.”
5 Ṣùgbọ́n Ọlọ́run ìbá jẹ́ sọ̀rọ̀, kí ó sì ya ẹnu rẹ̀ sí ọ
Yet I wish that God would speak with you, and would open his lips to you,
6 kí ó sì fi àṣírí ọgbọ́n hàn ọ́ pé, ó pọ̀ ju òye ènìyàn lọ, nítorí náà, mọ̀ pé Ọlọ́run ti gbàgbé àwọn ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ rẹ kan.
so that he might reveal to you the secrets of wisdom, and how intricate his law is, and that you would understand how much less he requires of you than your iniquity deserves.
7 “Ìwọ ha le ṣe àwárí ohun ìjìnlẹ̀ Ọlọ́run bí? Ìwọ ha le ṣe àwárí ibi tí Olódùmarè dé bi?
By chance, will you comprehend the footsteps of God and reach all the way to the perfection of the Almighty?
8 Ó ga ju àwọn ọ̀run lọ; kí ni ìwọ le è ṣe? Ó jìn ju jíjìn isà òkú lọ; kí ni ìwọ le mọ̀? (Sheol h7585)
He is higher than heaven, and what will you do? He is deeper than hell, but how will you know? (Sheol h7585)
9 Ìwọ̀n rẹ̀ gùn ju ayé lọ, ó sì ní ibú ju òkun lọ.
His measure is longer than the earth and wider than the sea.
10 “Bí òun bá rékọjá, tí ó sì sé ọnà tàbí tí ó sì mú ni wá sí ìdájọ́, ǹjẹ́, ta ni ó lè dí i lọ́wọ́?
If he overturns all things, or packs them together, who will contradict him?
11 Òun sá à mọ ẹlẹ́tàn ènìyàn; àti pé ṣé bí òun bá rí ohun búburú, ṣé òun kì i fi iyè sí i?
For he knows the vanity of men, and when he sees iniquity, does he not evaluate it?
12 Ṣùgbọ́n òmùgọ̀ ènìyàn ki yóò di ọlọ́gbọ́n bi ko ti rọrùn fún ọmọ kẹ́tẹ́kẹ́tẹ́ igbó láti bí ènìyàn.
A vain man is lifted up in arrogance, and he thinks that he is born free like a wild ass’s colt.
13 “Bí ìwọ bá fi ọkàn rẹ fún un, tí ìwọ sì na ọwọ́ rẹ sí ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ̀,
But you have fortified your heart and extended your hands to him.
14 bí ìwọ bá gbé ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ tí ń bẹ ní ọwọ́ rẹ jù sọnù tí ìwọ kò sì jẹ́ kí aburú gbé nínú àgọ́ rẹ,
If you would send away from you the iniquity that is in your hand, and not let injustice remain in your tabernacle,
15 nígbà náà ni ìwọ ó gbé ojú rẹ sókè láìní àbàwọ́n, àní ìwọ yóò dúró ṣinṣin, ìwọ kì yóò sì bẹ̀rù.
then you would be able to lift up your face without blemish, and you would be steadfast and unafraid.
16 Nítorí pé ìwọ ó gbàgbé ìṣòro rẹ; ìwọ ó sì rántí rẹ̀ bí omi tí ó ti sàn kọjá lọ.
Misery, likewise, you would forget, or would remember only like waters that have passed by.
17 Ọjọ́ ayé rẹ yóò sì mọ́lẹ̀ ju ọ̀sán gangan lọ, bí òkùnkùn tilẹ̀ bò ọ́ mọ́lẹ̀ nísinsin yìí, ìwọ ó dàbí òwúrọ̀.
And brightness, like that of midday, will rise upon you until evening, and when you would think yourself consumed, you will rise up like the morning star.
18 Ìwọ ó sì wà láìléwu, nítorí pé ìrètí wà; àní ìwọ ó rin ilé rẹ wò, ìwọ ó sì sinmi ní àlàáfíà.
And, when hope has been set before you, you will have faith, and, when buried, you will sleep secure.
19 Ìwọ ó sì dùbúlẹ̀ pẹ̀lú, kì yóò sì sí ẹni tí yóò dẹ́rùbà ọ́, àní ènìyàn yóò máa wá ojúrere rẹ.
You will rest, and there will be nothing to make you afraid, and many will make requests before your face.
20 Ṣùgbọ́n ojú ìkà ènìyàn yóò mófo; gbogbo ọ̀nà àbáyọ ni yóò nù wọ́n, ìrètí wọn a sì dàbí ẹni tí ó jọ̀wọ́ ẹ̀mí rẹ̀ lọ́wọ́.”
But the eyes of the impious will fade away, and the path to escape will perish before them, for the abomination of the soul is their hope.
