< Jeremiah 51 >
1 Ohùn ti Olúwa wí nìyìí: “Wò ó èmi yóò ru afẹ́fẹ́ apanirun sókè sí Babeli àti àwọn ènìyàn Lebikamai,
Thus saith the Lord: Behold I will raise up as it were a pestilential wind against Babylon and against the inhabitants thereof, who have lifted up their heart against me.
2 Èmi yóò rán àwọn àjèjì ènìyàn sí Babeli láti fẹ́ ẹ, tí yóò sì sọ ilẹ̀ rẹ̀ di òfo; wọn yóò takò ó ní gbogbo ọ̀nà ní ọjọ́ ìparun rẹ̀.
And I will send to Babylon fanners, and they shall fan her, and shall destroy her land: for they are come upon her on every side in the day of her affliction.
Let not him that bendeth, bend his bow, and let not, him go up that is armed with a coat of mail: spare not her young men, destroy all her army.
4 Gbogbo wọn ni yóò ṣubú ní Babeli, tí wọn yóò sì fi ara pa yánnayànna ní òpópónà.
And the slain shall fall in the land of the Chaldeans, and the wounded in the regions thereof.
5 Nítorí pé Juda àti Israẹli ni Ọlọ́run wọn tí í ṣe Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun, kò gbàgbọ́ bí o tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé ilé wọn kún fún kìkì ẹ̀bi níwájú ẹni mímọ́ Israẹli.
For Israel and Juda have not been forsaken by their God the Lord of hosts: but their land hath been filled with sin against the Holy One of Israel.
6 “Sá kúrò ní Babeli! Sá àsálà fún ẹ̀mí rẹ! Má ṣe ṣègbé torí ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ rẹ. Àsìkò àti gbẹ̀san Olúwa ni èyí; yóò sán fún òun gẹ́gẹ́ bí ó ti tọ́.
Flee ye from the midst of Babylon, and let every one save his own life: be not silent upon her iniquity: for it is the time of revenge from the Lord, he will I render unto her what she hath deserved.
7 Ife wúrà ni Babeli ní ọwọ́ Olúwa; ó sọ gbogbo ayé di ọ̀mùtí. Gbogbo orílẹ̀-èdè mu ọtí rẹ̀, wọ́n sì ti ya òmùgọ̀ kalẹ̀.
Babylon hath been a golden cup in the hand of the Lord, that made all the earth drunk: the nations have drunk of her wine, and therefore they have staggered.
8 Babeli yóò ṣubú lójijì, yóò sì fọ́. Ẹ hu fun un! Ẹ mú ìkunra fún ìrora rẹ, bóyá yóò le wo ọ́ sàn.
Babylon is suddenly fallen, and destroyed: howl for her, take balm for her pain, if so she may be healed.
9 “‘À bá ti wo Babeli sàn, ṣùgbọ́n kò lè sàn, ẹ jẹ́ kí a fi sílẹ̀, kí oníkálùkù lọ sí ilẹ̀ rẹ̀ torí ìdájọ́ rẹ̀ tó gòkè, ó ga àní títí dé òfúrufú.’
We would have cured Babylon, but she is not healed: let us forsake her, and let us go every man to his own land: because her judgment hath reached even to the heavens, and is lifted up to the clouds.
10 “‘Olúwa ti dá wa láre, wá jẹ́ kí a sọ ọ́ ní Sioni ohun tí Olúwa Ọlọ́run wa ti ṣe.’
The Lord hath brought forth our justices: Come, and let us declare in Sion the work of the Lord our God.
11 “Ṣe ọfà rẹ ní mímú, mú àpáta! Olúwa ti ru ọba Media sókè, nítorí pé ète rẹ̀ ni láti pa Babeli run. Olúwa yóò gbẹ̀san, àní ẹ̀san fún tẹmpili rẹ̀.
Sharpen the arrows, fill the quivers, the Lord hath raised up the spirit of the kings of the Medes: and his mind is against Babylon to destroy it, because it is the vengeance of the Lord, the vengeance of his temple.
12 Gbé àsíá sókè sí odi Babeli! Ẹ ṣe àwọn ọmọ-ogun gírí, ẹ pín àwọn olùṣọ́ káàkiri, ẹ ṣètò àwọn tí yóò sá pamọ́ Olúwa! Yóò gbé ète rẹ̀ jáde, òfin rẹ̀ sí àwọn ará Babeli.
Upon the walls of Babylon set up the standard, strengthen the watch: set up the watchmen, prepare the ambushes: for the Lord hath both purposed, and done all that he spoke against the inhabitants of Babylon.
13 Ìwọ tí o gbé lẹ́bàá odò púpọ̀, tí o sì ni ọ̀rọ̀ púpọ̀; ìgbẹ̀yìn rẹ ti dé, àní àsìkò láti ké ọ kúrò!
O thou that dwellest upon many waters, rich in treasures, thy end is come for thy entire destruction.
14 Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun ti búra fún ara rẹ̀, Èmi yóò fún ọ ní ènìyàn gẹ́gẹ́ bí ọ̀pọ̀ eṣú, wọn yóò yọ ayọ̀, ìṣẹ́gun lórí rẹ.
The Lord of hosts hath sworn by himself, saying: I will fill thee with men as with locusts, and they shall lift up a joyful shout against thee.
15 “Ó dá ilẹ̀ nípa agbára rẹ̀, o dá ilẹ̀ ayé pẹ̀lú ọgbọ́n rẹ̀, o sì tẹ́ ọ̀run pẹ̀lú ìmọ̀ rẹ̀.
He that made the earth by his power, that hath prepared the world by his wisdom, and stretched out the heavens by his understanding.
16 Nígbà tí ará omi ọ̀run hó ó mú kí òfúrufú ru sókè láti ìpẹ̀kun ayé. Ó rán mọ̀nàmọ́ná pẹ̀lú òjò, ó sì mú afẹ́fẹ́ jáde láti ilé ìṣúra rẹ̀.
When he uttereth his voice the waters are multiplied in heaven: he lifteth up the clouds from the ends of the earth, he hath turned lightning into rain: and hath brought forth the wind out of his treasures.
17 “Olúkúlùkù ènìyàn ni kò lọ́pọlọ tí kò sì ní ìmọ̀, olúkúlùkù alágbẹ̀dẹ ni a kó ìtìjú bá nípa òrìṣà rẹ̀. Àwọn ère rẹ jẹ́ ẹ̀tàn; wọn kò ní èémí nínú.
Every man is become foolish by his knowledge: every founder is confounded by his idol, for what he hath cast is a lie, and there is no breath in them.
18 Asán ni wọ́n, àti iṣẹ́ ìsìnà, nígbà ìbẹ̀wò wọn, wọn ó ṣègbé.
They are vain works, and worthy to be laughed at, in the time of their visitation they shall perish.
19 Ẹni tí ó jẹ́ ìpín Jakọbu kó rí bí ìwọ̀nyí; nítorí òun ni ó dá ohun gbogbo, àti gbogbo àwọn ẹ̀yà ajogún, Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun ni orúkọ rẹ̀.
The portion of Jacob is not like them: for he that made all things he it is, and Israel is the sceptre of his inheritance: the Lord of hosts is his name.
20 “Ìwọ ni kùmọ̀ ogun ohun èlò ogun mi, ohun èlò ìjà mi, pẹ̀lú rẹ èmi ó fọ́ orílẹ̀-èdè túútúú, èmi ó bà àwọn ilé ọba jẹ́.
Thou dashest together for me the weapons of war, and with thee I will dash nations together, and with thee I will destroy kingdoms:
21 Pẹ̀lú rẹ, èmi ó pa ẹṣin àti ẹni tí ó gùn ún pẹ̀lú rẹ̀; èmi ó ba kẹ̀kẹ́ ogun jẹ́ pẹ̀lú èmi ó pa awakọ̀,
And with thee I will break in pieces the horse, and his rider, and with thee I will break in pieces the chariot, and him that getteth up into it:
22 pẹ̀lú rẹ, mo pa ọkùnrin àti obìnrin, pẹ̀lú rẹ, mo pa àgbàlagbà àti ọmọdé, pẹ̀lú rẹ, mo pa ọ̀dọ́mọkùnrin àti ọ̀dọ́mọbìnrin.
And with thee I will break in pieces man and woman, and with thee I will break in pieces the old man and the child, and with thee I will break in pieces the young man and the virgin:
23 Èmi yóò sì fi ọ́ fọ́ olùṣọ́-àgùntàn, àti agbo àgùntàn rẹ̀ túútúú, èmi yóò sì fi ọ́ fọ́ àgbẹ̀ àti àjàgà màlúù túútúú, èmi yóò sì fi ọ́ fọ́ baálẹ̀ àti àwọn ìjòyè rẹ̀ túútúú.
And with thee I will break in pieces the shepherd and his dock, and with thee I will break in pieces the husbandman and his yoke of oxen, and with thee I will break in pieces captains and rulers.
24 “Ní ojú rẹ, èmi yóò san án fún Babeli àti gbogbo àwọn olùgbé inú rẹ̀ fún gbogbo ibi tí wọ́n ti ṣe ní Sioni,” ni Olúwa wí.
And I will render to Babylon, and to all the inhabitants of Chaldea all their evil, that they have done in Sion, before your eyes, saith the Lord.
25 “Mo lòdì sí ọ, ìwọ òkè apanirun ìwọ ti ba gbogbo ayé jẹ́,” ni Olúwa wí. “Èmi ó na ọwọ́ mi sí ọ, èmi yóò yí ọ kúrò lórí àpáta, Èmi yóò sọ ọ́ dàbí òkè tí a ti jó.
Behold I come against thee, thou destroying mountain, saith the Lord, which corruptest the whole earth: and I will stretch out my hand upon thee, and will roll thee down from the rocks, and will make thee a burnt mountain.
26 A kò ní mú òkúta kankan láti ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ̀ lò gẹ́gẹ́ bí igun ilé tàbí fún ìpínlẹ̀ nítorí pé ìwọ yóò di ahoro títí ayé,” ní Olúwa wí.
And they shall not take of thee a stone for the corner, nor a stone for foundations, but thou shalt be destroyed for ever, saith the Lord.
27 “Gbé àsíá sókè ní ilẹ̀ náà! Fọn ìpè láàrín àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè! Sọ àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè di mímọ́ sórí rẹ̀, pe àwọn ìjọba yìí láti dojúkọ ọ́: Ararati, Minini àti Aṣkenasi. Yan olùdarí ogun láti kọlù ú, rán àwọn ẹṣin sí i bí ọ̀pọ̀ eṣú.
Set ye up a standard in the land: sound with the trumpet among the nations: prepare the nations against her: call together against her the kings of Ararat, Menni, and Ascenez: number Taphsar against her, bring the horse as the stinging locust.
28 Sọ àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè pẹ̀lú àwọn ọba Media di mímọ́ sórí rẹ̀, àwọn baálẹ̀ rẹ̀, àti gbogbo àwọn ìjòyè rẹ̀, àti gbogbo orílẹ̀-èdè tí wọ́n jẹ ọba lé lórí.
Prepare the nations against her, the kings of Media, their captains, and all their rulers, and all the land of their dominion.
29 Ilẹ̀ wárìrì síyìn-ín sọ́hùn-ún, nítorí pé ète Olúwa, sí Babeli dúró, láti ba ilẹ̀ Babeli jẹ́ lọ́nà tí ẹnikẹ́ni kò ní lè gbé inú rẹ̀ mọ́.
And the land shall be in a commotion, and shall be troubled: for the design of the Lord against Babylon shall awake, to make the land of Babylon desert and uninhabitable.
30 Gbogbo àwọn jagunjagun Babeli tó dáwọ́ ìjà dúró sínú àgọ́ wọn. Agbára wọn ti tán, wọ́n ti dàbí obìnrin. Ibùgbé rẹ̀ ni a ti dáná sun, gbogbo irin ẹnu-ọ̀nà wọn ti di fífọ́.
The valiant men of Babylon have forborne to fight, they have dwelt in holds: their strength hath failed, and they are become as women: her dwelling places are burnt, her bars are broken.
31 Ìránṣẹ́ kan ń tẹ̀lé òmíràn láti sọ fún ọba Babeli pé gbogbo ìlú rẹ̀ ni a ti kó ní ìgbèkùn.
One running post shall meet another, and messenger shall meet messenger: to tell the king of Babylon that his city is taken from one end to the other:
32 Odò tí ó sàn kọjá kò sàn mọ́ ilẹ̀ àbàtà gbiná, àwọn jagunjagun sì wárìrì.”
And that the fords are taken, and the marshes are burnt with fire, and the men of war are affrighted.
33 Ohun tí Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun Ọlọ́run àwọn ọmọ Israẹli sọ nìyìí: “Ọmọbìnrin Babeli dàbí ìpakà àsìkò láti kórè rẹ̀ kò ní pẹ́ dé mọ́.”
For thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel: The daughter of Babylon is like a thrashingfloor, this is the time of her thrashing: yet a little while, and the time of her harvest shall come.
34 “Nebukadnessari ọba Babeli tó jẹ wá run, ó ti mú kí ìdààmú bá wa, ó ti sọ wá di àgbá òfìfo. Gẹ́gẹ́ bí ejò, ó ti gbé wa mì. Ó fi oúnjẹ àdídùn wa kún inú rẹ̀, lẹ́yìn náà ni ó pọ̀ wá jáde.
Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon hath eaten me up, he hath devoured me: he hath made me as an empty vessel: he hath swallowed me up like a dragon, he hath filled his belly with my delicate meats, and he hath cast me out.
35 Kí gbogbo ìparun tí ó ṣe sí ẹran-ara wa wà lórí Babeli,” èyí tí àwọn ibùgbé Sioni wí. “Kí ẹ̀jẹ̀ wa wà lórí gbogbo àwọn tí ń gbé Babeli,” ni Jerusalẹmu wí.
The wrong done to me, and my flesh be upon Babylon, saith the habitation of Sion: and my blood upon the inhabitants of Chaldea, saith Jerusalem.
36 Nítorí náà, báyìí ni Olúwa wí: “Wò ó, èmi yóò tì ọ́ lẹ́yìn lórí ohun tí o fẹ́ ṣe. Èmi ó sì gbẹ̀san, èmi yóò mú kí omi Òkun rẹ̀ àti orísun omi rẹ̀ gbẹ.
Therefore thus saith the Lord: Behold I will judge thy cause, and will take vengeance for thee, and I will make her sea desolate, and will dry up her spring.
37 Babeli yóò parun pátápátá, yóò sì di ihò àwọn akátá, ohun ẹ̀rù àti àbùkù, ibi tí ènìyàn kò gbé.
And Babylon shall be reduced to heaps, a dwelling place for dragons, an astonishment and a hissing, because there is no inhabitant.
38 Àwọn ènìyàn inú rẹ̀ bú ramúramù bí ọmọ kìnnìún.
They shall roar together like lions, they shall shake their manes like young lions.
39 Ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí ọkàn wọn bá ru sókè, èmi yóò ṣe àsè fún wọn, èmi yóò jẹ́ kí wọn mutí yó tí wọn yóò máa kọ fun ẹ̀rín, lẹ́yìn náà, wọn yóò sun oorun, wọn kì yóò jí,” ni Olúwa wí.
In their heat I will set them drink: and I will make them drunk, that they may slumber, and sleep an everlasting sleep, and awake no more, saith the Lord.
40 “Èmi yóò fà wọ́n lọ gẹ́gẹ́ bí ọ̀dọ́-àgùntàn tí a fẹ́ pa, gẹ́gẹ́ bí àgbò àti ewúrẹ́.
I will bring them down like lambs to the slaughter, and like rams with kids.
41 “Báwo ni Ṣeṣaki yóò ṣe dí mímú, ìfọ́nnu gbogbo àgbáyé. Irú ìpayà wo ni yóò bá Babeli láàrín àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè!
How is Sesach taken, and the renowned one of all the earth surprised? How is Babylon become an astonishment among the nations?
42 Òkun yóò ru borí Babeli, gbogbo rírú rẹ̀ yóò borí Babeli.
The sea is come up over Babylon: she is covered with the multitude of the waves thereof.
43 Àwọn ìlú rẹ̀ yóò di ahoro, ilẹ̀ tí ó gbẹ, ilẹ̀ tí ènìyàn kò gbé tí ènìyàn kò sì rin ìrìnàjò.
Her cities are become an astonishment, a land uninhabited and desolate, a land wherein none can dwell, nor son of man pass through it.
44 Èmi yóò fi ìyà jẹ Beli ti Babeli àti pé èmi yóò jẹ́ kí ó pọ gbogbo àwọn ohun tí ó gbé mì. Àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè kì yóò jùmọ̀ sàn lọ pọ̀ sí ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ̀ mọ́. Ní òótọ́ odi Babeli yóò sì wó.
And I will visit against Bel in Babylon, and I will bring forth out of his mouth that which he had swallowed down: and the rations shall no more flow together to him, for the wall also of Babylon shall fall.
45 “Ẹ jáde kúrò nínú rẹ̀ ẹ̀yin ènìyàn mi! Sá àsálà fún ẹ̀mí rẹ! Sá fún ìbínú ńlá Olúwa.
Go out of the midst of her, my people: that every man may save his life from the fierce wrath of the Lord.
46 Má ṣe jẹ́ kí ọkàn rẹ dàrú tàbí kí o bẹ̀rù nígbà tí a bá gbọ́ àhesọ ọ̀rọ̀ ní ilẹ̀ wa; àhesọ ọ̀rọ̀ kan wá ní ọdún yìí, òmíràn ní ọdún mìíràn àhesọ ọ̀rọ̀ ni ti ìwà ipá ní ilẹ̀ náà àti tí aláṣẹ kan sí aláṣẹ kejì.
And lest your hearts faint, and ye fear for the rumour that shall be heard in the land: and a rumour shall come in one year, and after this year another rumour: and iniquity in the land, and ruler upon ruler.
47 Nítorí ìgbà náà yóò wá dandan nígbà tí èmi yóò fi ìyà jẹ àwọn òrìṣà Babeli; gbogbo ilẹ̀ rẹ̀ ni a ó dójútì gbogbo àwọn tí a pa yóò sì ṣubú ní àárín rẹ̀.
Therefore behold the days come, and I will visit the idols of Babylon: and her whole land shall be confounded, and all her slain shall fall in the midst of her.
48 Ọ̀run àti ayé àti gbogbo ohun tí ó wà nínú wọn, yóò sì kọrin lórí Babeli: nítorí àwọn afiniṣèjẹ yóò wá sórí rẹ̀ láti àríwá,” ni Olúwa wí.
And the heavens and the earth, and all things that are in them shall give praise for Babylon: for spoilers shall come to her from the north, saith the Lord.
49 “Babiloni gbọdọ̀ ṣubú nítorí ìtàjẹ̀ sílẹ̀ ni Israẹli, gẹ́gẹ́ bí àwọn ti a pa ní gbogbo ayé nítorí Babeli.
And as Babylon caused that there should fall slain in Israel: so of Babylon there shall fall slain in all the earth.
50 Ẹ̀yin tí ó ti bọ́ lọ́wọ́ idà, ẹ lọ, ẹ má dúró. Ẹ rántí Olúwa ní òkèrè, ẹ sì jẹ́ kí Jerusalẹmu wá sí ọkàn yín.”
You that have escaped the sword, come away, stand not still: remember the Lord afar off, and let Jerusalem come into your mind.
51 “Ojú tì wá, nítorí pé àwa ti gbọ́ ẹ̀gàn: ìtìjú ti bò wá lójú nítorí àwọn àjèjì wá sórí ohun mímọ́ ilé Olúwa.”
We are confounded, because we have heard reproach: shame hath covered our faces: because strangers are come upon the sanctuaries of the house of the Lord.
52 “Nítorí náà, wò ó, ọjọ́ ń bọ̀,” ni Olúwa wí, “tí èmi yóò ṣe ìbẹ̀wò lórí àwọn ère fínfín rẹ̀, àti àwọn tí ó gbọgbẹ́ yóò sì máa kérora já gbogbo ilẹ̀ rẹ̀.
Therefore behold the days come, saith the Lord, and I will visit her graven things, and in all her land the wounded shall groan:
53 Bí Babeli tilẹ̀ gòkè lọ sí ọ̀run, bí ó sì ṣe ìlú olódi ní òkè agbára rẹ, síbẹ̀ àwọn afiniṣèjẹ yóò ti ọ̀dọ̀ mi tọ̀ ọ́ wá,” ní Olúwa wí.
If Babylon should mount up to heaven, and establish her strength on high: from me there should come spoilers upon her, saith the Lord.
54 “Ìró igbe láti Babeli, àti ìparun láti ilẹ̀ àwọn ará Kaldea!
The noise of a cry from Babylon, and great destruction from the land of the Chaldeans:
55 Nítorí pé Olúwa ti ṣe Babeli ní ìjẹ, ó sì ti pa ohun ńlá run kúrò nínú rẹ̀; àwọn ọ̀tá wọn sì ń hó bi omi púpọ̀, a gbọ́ ariwo ohùn wọn.
Because the Lord hath laid Babylon waste, and destroyed out of her the great voice: and their wave shall roar like many waters: their voice hath made a noise:
56 Nítorí pé afiniṣèjẹ dé sórí rẹ̀, àní sórí Babeli; a mú àwọn akọni rẹ̀, a ṣẹ́ gbogbo ọrun wọn: nítorí Ọlọ́run ẹ̀san ni Olúwa, yóò san án nítòótọ́.
Because the spoiler is come upon her, that is, upon Babylon, and her valiant men are taken, and their bow is weakened, because the Lord, who is a strong revenger, will surely repay.
57 Èmi ó sì mú kí àwọn ìjòyè rẹ̀ yó bí ọ̀mùtí, àti àwọn ọlọ́gbọ́n rẹ̀ àti àwọn baálẹ̀ rẹ̀, àti àwọn akọni rẹ̀, wọn ó sì sun oorun láéláé, wọn kì ó sì jí mọ́,” ní ọba wí, ẹni tí orúkọ rẹ̀ ń jẹ́ Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun.
And I will make her princes drunk. and her wise men, and her captains, and her rulers, and her valiant men: and they shall sleep an everlasting sleep, and shall awake no more, saith the whose name is Lord of hosts.
58 Báyìí ní Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun wí: “Odi Babeli gbígbòòrò ní a ó wó lulẹ̀ pátápátá, ẹnu-bodè gíga rẹ̀ ní a ó sì fi iná sun: tó bẹ́ẹ̀ tí àwọn ènìyàn ti ṣiṣẹ́ lásán, àti àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè ti ṣiṣẹ́ fún iná, tí àárẹ̀ sì mú wọn.”
Thus saith the Lord of hosts: That broad wall of Babylon shall be utterly broken down, and her high gates shall be burnt with fire, and the labours of the people shall come to nothing, and of the nations shall go to the fire, and shall perish.
59 Ọ̀rọ̀ tí Jeremiah wòlíì pàṣẹ fún Seraiah, ọmọ Neriah, ọmọ Maseiah, nígbà tí o ń lọ ni ti Sedekiah, ọba Juda, sí Babeli ní ọdún kẹrin ìjọba rẹ̀. Seraiah yìí sì ní ìjòyè ibùdó.
The word that Jeremias the prophet commanded Saraias the son of Nerias, the son of Maasias, when he went with king Sedecias to Babylon, in the fourth year of his reign: now Saraias was chief over the prophecy.
60 Jeremiah sì kọ gbogbo ọ̀rọ̀ ibi tí yóò wá sórí Babeli sínú ìwé kan, àní gbogbo ọ̀rọ̀ wọ̀nyí tí a kọ sí Babeli.
And Jeremias wrote in one book all the evil that was to come upon Babylon: all these words that are written against Babylon.
61 Jeremiah sì sọ fún Seraiah pé, “Nígbà tí ìwọ bá dé Babeli, kí ìwọ kí ó sì wò, kí ìwọ kí ó sì ka gbogbo ọ̀rọ̀ wọ̀nyí.
And Jeremias said to Saraias: When thou shalt come into Babylon, and shalt see, and shalt read all these words,
62 Kí ìwọ kí ó sì wí pé, ‘Olúwa ìwọ ti sọ̀rọ̀ sí ibí yí, láti ké e kúrò, kí ẹnikẹ́ni má ṣe gbé inú rẹ̀, àti ènìyàn àti ẹran, nítorí pé yóò di ahoro láéláé.’
Thou shalt say: O Lord, thou hast spoken against this place to destroy it: so that there should be neither man nor beast to dwell therein, and that it should be desolate for ever.
63 Yóò sì ṣe, nígbà tí ìwọ bá parí kíka ìwé yìí tán kí ìwọ kí ó di òkúta mọ́ ọn, kí ó sì sọ ọ́ sí àárín odò Eufurate.
And when thou shalt have made an end of reading this book, thou shalt tie a stone to it, and shalt throw it into the midst of the Euphrates:
64 Kí ìwọ sì wí pé, ‘Báyìí ní Babeli yóò rì, kí yóò sì tún dìde kúrò nínú ibi tí èmi ó mú wá sórí rẹ̀: àárẹ̀ yóò sì mú wọn.’” Títí dé ìhín ni ọ̀rọ̀ Jeremiah.
And thou shalt say: Thus shall Babylon sink, and she shall not rise up from the affliction that I will bring upon her, and she shall be utterly destroyed. Thus far are the words of Jeremias.
