< Jeremiah 49 >

Unto the children of Ammon thus saith the Lord, Hath Israel no sonnes? or hath he none heire? Why then hath their king possessed God? and his people dwelt in his cities?
2 Ṣùgbọ́n ọjọ́ náà ń bọ̀,” ni Olúwa wí; “nígbà tí èmi yóò mú kí a gbọ́ ìdágìrì ogun ní Rabba tí Ammoni; yóò sì di òkìtì ahoro, gbogbo ìlú tí ó yí i ká ni a ó jó níná. Nígbà náà ni Israẹli yóò lé wọn, àwọn tí ó ti lé e jáde,” ni Olúwa wí.
Therefore beholde the dayes come, sayeth the Lord, that I will cause a noyse of warre to be heard in Rabbah of the Ammonites, and it shall be a desolate heape, and her daughters shall be burnt with fire: then shall Israel possesse those that possessed him, sayeth the Lord.
3 “Hu, ìwọ Heṣboni, nítorí Ai tí rún! Kígbe ẹ̀yin olùgbé Rabba! Ẹ wọ aṣọ ọ̀fọ̀ kí ẹ sì ṣọ̀fọ̀. Ẹ sáré sókè sódò nínú ọgbà, nítorí Malkomu yóò lọ sí ìgbèkùn, pẹ̀lú àwọn àlùfáà àti ìjòyè rẹ̀.
Howle, O Heshbon, for Ai is wasted: crie ye daughters of Rabbah: girde you with sackecloth: mourne and runne to and from by the hedges: for their King shall goe into captiuitie; and his Priestes, and his princes likewise.
4 Èéṣe tí ìwọ fi ń ṣògo nínú àfonífojì rẹ, ṣògo nínú àfonífojì rẹ fún èso? Ẹ̀yin ọmọbìnrin Ammoni aláìṣòótọ́, ẹ gbẹ́kẹ̀lé ọrọ̀ yín, ẹ sì wí pé, ‘Ta ni yóò kò mí lójú?’
Wherefore gloriest thou in the valleis? thy valley floweth away, O rebellious daughter: she trusted in her treasures, saying, Who shall come vnto me?
5 Èmi yóò mu ẹ̀rù wá lórí rẹ láti ọ̀dọ̀ gbogbo àwọn tó yí ọ ká,” ni Olúwa, ni Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun wí.
Beholde, I will bring a feare vpon thee, sayth the Lord God of hostes, of all those that be about thee, and ye shalbe scattered euery man right foorth, and none shall gather him that fleeth.
6 “Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun. Gbogbo yín ni ó lé jáde, kò sì ṣí ẹnìkan tí yóò dá ìkólọ Ammoni padà,” ni Olúwa wí.
And afterward I will bring againe the captiuitie of the children of Ammon.
7 Nípa Edomu. Èyí ní ohun tí Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun wí: “Ṣe kò ha sí ọgbọ́n mọ́ ni Temani? Ṣé a ti ké ìmọ̀ràn kúrò ní ọ̀dọ̀ olóyè? Ṣé ọgbọ́n wọn ti bàjẹ́ bí?
To Edom thus sayeth the Lord of hostes: Is wisdome no more in Teman? is counsel perished from their children? is their wisdome vanished?
8 Yípadà kí o sálọ, sá pamọ́ sínú ihò, ìwọ tí ó ń gbé ní Dedani, nítorí èmi yóò mú ibi wá sórí Esau, ní àkókò tí èmi ó bẹ̀ ẹ́ wò.
Flee, ye inhabitants of Dedan (they are turned backe, and haue consulted to dwell) for I haue brought the destruction of Esau vpon him, and the time of his visitation.
9 Tí àwọn tí ń ṣa èso bá tọ̀ ọ́ wá; ǹjẹ́ wọn kò ní fi èso díẹ̀ sílẹ̀? Tí olè bá wá ní òru; ǹjẹ́ wọn kò ní kó gbogbo ohun tí wọ́n bá fẹ́?
If the grape gatherers come to thee, would they not leaue some grapes? if theeues come by night, they will destroy till they haue ynough.
10 Ṣùgbọ́n èmi yóò tu Esau sí ìhòhò, èmi ti fi ibi ìkọ̀kọ̀ rẹ̀ hàn, nítorí kí o máa ba à fi ara rẹ pamọ́. Àwọn ọmọ rẹ, ẹbí rẹ àti àwọn ará ilé rẹ yóò parun. Wọn kò sì ní sí mọ́.
For I haue discouered Esau: I haue vncouered his secrets, and he shall not be able to hide himselfe: his seede is wasted, and his brethren and his neighbours, and there shall be none to say,
11 Fi àwọn ọmọ aláìní baba sílẹ̀ èmi yóò dáàbò bo ẹ̀mí wọn. Àwọn opó rẹ gan an lè gbẹ́kẹ̀lé mi.”
Leaue thy fathers children, and I will preserue them aliue, and let thy widowes trust in me.
12 Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa wí bí ẹnikẹ́ni tí kò bá yẹ kí ó mu ago náà bá mú un, kí ló dé tí ìwọ yóò fi lọ láìjìyà? Ìwọ kò ní lọ láìjìyà; ṣùgbọ́n ìwọ yóò mú un.
For thus sayth the Lord, Beholde, they whose iudgement was not to drinke of the cuppe, haue assuredly drunken, and art thou he that shall escape free? thou shalt not goe free, but thou shalt surely drinke of it.
13 Èmi fi ara mi búra ni Olúwa wí, wí pé, “Bosra yóò ba ayé ara rẹ̀ jẹ́. Yóò di ẹni ẹ̀gàn, ẹni èpè àti ẹni ègún, àti gbogbo ìlú rẹ̀ yóò di ìbàjẹ́ títí láé.”
For I haue sworne by my selfe, sayeth the Lord, that Bozrah shall be waste, and for a reproche, and a desolation, and a curse, and all the cities thereof shall be perpetuall desolations.
14 Ní gbígbọ́, èmi ti gbọ́ ìró kan láti ọ̀dọ̀ Olúwa, a rán ikọ̀ kan sí orílẹ̀-èdè pé, ẹ kó ara yín jọ, ẹ wá sórí rẹ̀, ẹ sì dìde láti jagun.
I haue heard a rumour from the Lord, and an ambassadour is sent vnto the heathen, saying, Gather you together, and come against her, and rise vp to the battell.
15 “Ní báyìí, èmi yóò sọ ọ́ di kékeré láàrín orílẹ̀-èdè gbogbo; ẹni ẹ̀gàn láàrín àwọn ènìyàn.
For loe, I will make thee but small among the heathen, and despised among men.
16 Ìpayà tí ìwọ ti fà sínú ìgbéraga ọkàn rẹ sì ti tàn ọ́ jẹ; ìwọ tí ń gbé ní pàlàpálá àpáta, tí o jókòó lórí ìtẹ́ gíga síbẹ̀ o kọ́ ìtẹ́ rẹ ga gẹ́gẹ́ bí ẹyẹ idì; láti ibẹ̀ ni èmi yóò ti mú ọ sọ̀kalẹ̀ wá,” ni Olúwa wí.
Thy feare, and ye pride of thine heart hath deceiued thee, thou that dwellest in the cleftes of the rocke, and keepest the height of ye hil: though thou shouldest make thy nest as hie as the eagle, I wil bring thee downe from thece, sayth the Lord.
17 “Edomu yóò di ahoro gbogbo àwọn tí ń kọjá yóò jáyà, wọn ó sì fi rẹ́rìn-ín ẹlẹ́yà nítorí gbogbo ìpalára rẹ.
Also Edom shall be desolate: euery one that goeth by it, shall be astonished, and shall hisse at all the plagues thereof,
18 Gẹ́gẹ́ bí wọ́n ṣe gba Sodomu àti Gomorra pẹ̀lú àwọn ìlú tí ó wà ní àyíká rẹ,” ní Olúwa wí. “Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni, kò sí ẹnikẹ́ni tí yóò gbé níbẹ̀; kò sì ní sí ènìyàn tí yóò tẹ̀dó síbẹ̀ mọ́.
As in the ouerthrowe of Sodom, and of Gomorah, and the places thereof neere about, saieth the Lord: no man shall dwell there, neither shall the sonnes of men remaine in it.
Beholde, hee shall come vp like a lyon from the swelling of Iorden vnto the strong dwelling place: for I will make Israel to rest, euen I will make him to haste away from her, and who is a chosen man that I may appoynt against her? for who is like mee? and who will appoint me the time? and who is the shepheard that will stande before me?
20 Nítorí náà, ẹ gbọ́ ohun tí Olúwa ní fún Edomu, ohun tí ó ní ní pàtàkì fún àwọn tí ń gbé ní Temani. Àwọn ọ̀dọ́ àgbò ni à ó lé jáde; pápá oko wọn ni yóò run nítorí wọn.
Therefore heare the counsell of the Lord that hee hath deuised against Edom, and his purpose that hee hath conceiued against the inhabitants of Teman: surely the least of the flocke shall drawe them out: surely he shall make their habitations desolate with them.
21 Ilẹ̀ yóò mì tìtì nípa ariwo ìṣubú wọn, a ó gbọ́ igbe wọn ní Òkun pupa.
The earth is mooued at the noyse of their fall: the crie of their voice is heard in the red Sea.
22 Wò ó! Ẹyẹ idì yóò gòkè fò wálẹ̀, yóò tẹ ìyẹ́ rẹ̀ lórí Bosra. Ní ọjọ́ náà ọkàn àwọn ajagun Edomu yóò dàbí ọkàn obìnrin tí ń rọbí.
Behold, he shall come vp, and flie as the Egle, and spreade his wings ouer Bozrah, and at that day shall the heart of the strong men of Edome be as the heart of a woman in trauaile.
23 Nípa Damasku. “Inú Hamati àti Arpadi bàjẹ́ nítorí wọ́n gbọ́ ìròyìn búburú, ìjayà dé bá wọn, wọ́n sì dààmú bí omi Òkun.
Vnto Damascus he sayeth, Hamath is confounded and Arpad, for they haue heard euill tidings, and they are faint hearted as one on the fearefull sea that can not rest.
24 Damasku di aláìlera, ó pẹ̀yìndà láti sálọ, ìwárìrì sì dé bá a; ìbẹ̀rù àti ìrora dìímú, ìrora bí ti obìnrin tí ó wà ní ipò ìrọbí.
Damascus is discouraged, and turneth her selfe to flight and feare hath seased her: anguish and sorowes haue taken her as a woman in trauaile.
25 Kí ló dé tí ìlú olókìkí di ohun ìkọ̀sílẹ̀; ìlú tí mo dunnú sí.
How is the glorious citie not reserued, the citie of my ioy?
26 Lóòtítọ́, àwọn ọ̀dọ́mọkùnrin rẹ yóò ṣubú lójú pópó, gbogbo àwọn ọmọ-ogun rẹ yóò pa ẹnu mọ́ ní ọjọ́ náà,” ní Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun wí.
Therefore her yong men shall fall in her streetes, and all her men of warre shall be cut off in that day, sayeth the Lord of hostes.
27 “Èmi yóò fi iná sí odi Damasku, yóò sì jó gbọ̀ngàn Beni-Hadadi run.”
And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, which shall cosume the palaces of Benhadad.
28 Nípa ìlú Kedari àti ìjọba Hasori èyí ti Nebukadnessari ọba Babeli dojú ìjà kọ, èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa sọ, “Dìde kí o sì dojú ìjà kọ ìlú Kedari, kí o sì pa àwọn ènìyàn ìlà-oòrùn run.
Vnto Kedar, and to the kingdomes of Hazor, which Nebuchad-nezzar, king of Babel shall smite, thus sayeth the Lord, Arise, and goe vp vnto Kedar, and destroy the men of the East.
29 Àgọ́ wọn àti agbo àgùntàn wọn ni wọn ó kó lọ; àgọ́ wọn yóò di ìṣínípò padà pẹ̀lú gbogbo ẹrù àti ìbákasẹ wọn. Àwọn ènìyàn yóò ké sórí wọ́n pé, ‘Ẹ̀rù yí káàkiri!’
Their tents and their flocks shall they take away: yea, they shall take to themselues their curtaines and all their vessels, and their camels, and they shall crie vnto them, Feare is on euery side.
30 “Sálọ kíákíá! Fi ara pamọ́ sí ibi jíjìn, ẹ̀yin olùgbé Hasori,” ni Olúwa wí. “Nebukadnessari ọba Babeli ti dojú ìjà kọ ọ́.
Flee, get you farre off (they haue consulted to dwell) O ye inhabitants of Hazor, saith the Lord: for Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel hath taken counsell against you, and hath deuised a purpose against you.
31 “Dìde kí o sì dojú ìjà kọ orílẹ̀-èdè tí ó wà nínú ìrọ̀rùn, èyí tí ó gbé ní àìléwu,” ní Olúwa wí. “Orílẹ̀-èdè tí kò ní odi tàbí irin, àwọn ènìyàn rẹ̀ ń dágbé.
Arise, and get you vp vnto the welthy nation that dwelleth without care, saith the Lord, which haue neither gates nor barres, but dwel alone.
32 Àwọn ìbákasẹ á di ẹrù àti àwọn ẹran ọ̀sìn, wọ́n á di ìkógun. Èmi yóò tú àwọn tí ó wà ní òkèèrè sí inú afẹ́fẹ́. Èmi yóò sì mú ibi wá sí àyíká gbogbo,” báyìí ní Olúwa wí.
And their camels shall be a bootie, and the multitude of their cattel a spoile, and I will scatter them into all windes, and to the vtmost corners, and I will bring their destruction from al the sides thereof, sayeth the Lord.
33 “Hasori yóò di ibi ìdọdẹ àwọn akátá, ibi ìkọ̀sílẹ̀ ayérayé, kò sí ẹni tí yóò gbé ní ibẹ̀.”
And Hazor shall be a dwelling for dragons, and desolation for euer: there shall no man dwell there, nor the sonnes of men remaine in it.
34 Èyí ní ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa èyí tí ó tọ Jeremiah wòlíì wá nípa Elamu ní ìbẹ̀rẹ̀ ìjọba Sedekiah ọba Juda.
The woordes of the Lord that came to Ieremiah the Prophet, concerning Elam, in the beginning of the reigne of Zedekiah King of Iudah, saying,
35 Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun sọ: “Wò ó, èmi yóò fọ́ ìtẹ̀gùn Elamu, ẹni tí wọ́n sinmi lé nípa agbára.
Thus sayeth the Lord of hostes, Beholde, I will breake the bowe of Elam, euen the chiefe of their strength.
36 Èmi yóò mú kí afẹ́fẹ́ orígun mẹ́rẹ̀ẹ̀rin àgbáyé lòdì sí Elamu. Èmi yóò tú wọn ká sí ìpín afẹ́fẹ́ mẹ́rin àti pé, kò sí orílẹ̀-èdè tí ilẹ̀ àjèjì Elamu kò ní lọ.
And vpon Elam I will bring the foure windes from the foure quarters of heauen, and will scatter them towardes all these windes, and there shall bee no nation, whither the fugitiues of Elam shall not come.
37 Èmi yóò kẹ́gàn Elamu níwájú àwọn ọ̀tá wọn, àti níwájú àwọn tí wọ́n ń wá ẹ̀mí wọn, Èmi yóò mú ibi wá sí orí wọn, àní, ìbínú gbígbóná mi,” bẹ́ẹ̀ ni Olúwa wí. “Èmi yóò lé wọn pẹ̀lú idà, di ìgbà tí èmi yóò rẹ́yìn wọn.
For I will cause Elam to be afraied before their enemies, and before them that seeke their liues, and will bring vpon them a plague, euen the indignation of my wrath, saieth the Lord, and I wil sende the sworde after them till I haue consumed them.
38 Èmi yóò sì gbé ìtẹ́ mi kalẹ̀ ní Elamu, èmí yóò sì pa ọba wọn àti ìjòyè wọn run,” báyìí ni Olúwa wí.
And I wil set my throne in Elam, and I wil destroy both the King and the princes from thence, saith the Lord:
39 “Síbẹ̀, èmi yóò dá ìkólọ Elamu padà láìpẹ́ ọjọ́,” báyìí ni Olúwa wí.
but in the latter daies I wil bring againe the captiuitie of Elam, sayeth the Lord.
