< Jeremiah 45 >

1 Èyí ni ọ̀rọ̀ tí Jeremiah wòlíì sọ fún Baruku ọmọ Neriah ní ọdún kẹrin ti Jehoiakimu ọmọ Josiah ọba Juda. Lẹ́yìn tí Baruku ti kọ sínú ìwé kíká àwọn ọ̀rọ̀ tí Jeremiah ti ń sọ:
This is the word that Jeremiah the prophet told Baruch son of Neriah. This happened when he wrote in a scroll these words at Jeremiah's dictation—this was in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah, king of Judah, and he said,
2 “Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa Ọlọ́run Israẹli sọ fún ọ, Baruku.
“Yahweh, God of Israel, says this to you, Baruch:
3 Ìwọ wí pé, ‘Ègbé ni fún mi! Olúwa ti fi ìbànújẹ́ kún ìrora mi, àárẹ̀ mú mi nínú ẹ̀dùn mi, èmi kò sì rí ìsinmi.’”
You have said, 'Woe is me, for Yahweh has added agony to my pain. My groaning has wearied me; I find no rest.'
4 Olúwa wí pé sọ èyí fún un, “Èyí ni Ọlọ́run sọ: ‘Èyí tí èmi ti kọ́ ni èmi yóò wò lulẹ̀, àti èyí tí èmi ti gbìn ni èmi yóò fàtu, àní ní orí gbogbo ilẹ̀.
This is what you must say to him: 'Yahweh says this: See, what I built, I am now tearing down. What I planted, I am now pulling up—I will do this throughout all the earth.
5 Ṣé ìwọ sì ń wá ohun títóbi fún ara rẹ? Nítorí náà, má ṣe wá wọn. Èmi yóò mú ibi wá sí orí àwọn ènìyàn gbogbo ni Olúwa wí, ṣùgbọ́n níbikíbi tí ìwọ bá lọ ni èmi yóò jẹ́ kí o sá àsálà pẹ̀lú ẹ̀mí rẹ.’”
But are you hoping for great things for yourself? Do not hope for that. For see, disaster is coming on all humanity—this is Yahweh's declaration—but I am giving you your life as your plunder everywhere you will go.'”
