< Jeremiah 39 >
1 Ó sì ṣe, nígbà tí a kó Jerusalẹmu, ní ọdún kẹsànán Sedekiah, ọba Juda, nínú oṣù kẹwàá, Nebukadnessari ọba Babeli gbógun ti Jerusalẹmu pẹ̀lú gbogbo ogun rẹ̀, wọ́n sì dó tì í.
In the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, came Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon and all his force against Jerusalem, and they besieged it.
2 Ní ọjọ́ kẹsànán, oṣù kẹrin ọdún kọkànlá Sedekiah, ni a wó odi ìlú náà.
In the eleventh year of Zedekiah, in the fourth month on the ninth of the month, was the city broken into.
3 Nígbà náà ni gbogbo àwọn ìjòyè ọba Babeli wá, wọ́n sì jókòó ní àárín ẹnu ibodè, àní Nergali-Ṣareseri ti Samgari, Nebo-Sarsikimu olórí ìwẹ̀fà, Nergali-Ṣareseri, olórí amòye, pẹ̀lú gbogbo àwọn ìjòyè ọba Babeli yóò kú.
Then came in all the princes of the king of Babylon, and sat in the middle gate, —Nergal-sharezer, Samgar-nebo, Sarsechim, chief eunuch Nergal-sharezer, chief soothsayer, and all the residue of the princes of the king of Babylon.
4 Nígbà tí Sedekiah ọba Juda àti àwọn ọmọ-ogun rí wọn, wọ́n sá, wọ́n kúrò ní ìlú ní alẹ́, wọ́n gba ọ̀nà ọgbà ọba lọ láàrín ẹnu ibodè pẹ̀lú odi méjì, wọ́n dojúkọ aginjù.
And it came to pass as soon as Zedekiah king of Judah and all the men of war saw them, that they fled, and went forth by night out of the city, by way of the king’s garden, through the gate between the two walls, —and he went forth by way of the waste plain.
5 Ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí àwọn ọmọ-ogun Babeli lé wọn, wọ́n bá Sedekiah láàrín aginjù Jeriko. Wọ́n mú un ní ìgbèkùn, wọ́n sì mú u tọ Nebukadnessari ọba Babeli àti Ribla ní ilẹ̀ Hamati, níbi tí wọ́n ti ṣe ìdájọ́ rẹ̀.
But the force of the Chaldeans pursued them, and overtook Zedekiah in the waste plains of Jericho, and when they had taken him, they brought him up unto Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, to Riblah, in the land of Hamath, —and pronounced upon him sentences of judgment.
6 Níbẹ̀ ní Ribla, ni ọba Babeli ti dúńbú àwọn ọmọ Sedekiah lójú rẹ̀, tí ó sì tún pa gbogbo àwọn ọlọ́lá ilẹ̀ Juda.
And the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah, in Riblah before his eyes, —and all the nobles of Judah, did the king of Babylon slay;
7 Nígbà náà ni ó fọ́ ojú Sedekiah, ó sì dè é pẹ̀lú ẹ̀wọ̀n láti gbé e lọ sí ilẹ̀ Babeli.
and the eyes of Zedekiah, did he put out, and bound him with fetters of bronze to bring him into Babylon.
8 Àwọn Babeli dáná sun ààfin ọba àti ilé àwọn ènìyàn, wọ́n sì wó odi Jerusalẹmu.
And the house of the king, and the houses of the people, did the Chaldeans burn with fire, and the walls of Jerusalem, brake they down;
9 Nebusaradani olórí àwọn ọmọ-ogun mú lọ sí ìgbèkùn Babeli pẹ̀lú gbogbo àwọn tí ó ṣẹ́kù nínú ìlú.
and the remnant of the people who were left in the city, and the disheartened who fell away unto him, and the remnant of the people who were left, did Nebuzaradan chief of the royal executioners, take captive to Babylon.
10 Ṣùgbọ́n Nebusaradani olórí ogun fi àwọn aláìní sílẹ̀ ní Juda, àwọn tí kò ní ohun kankan ní àkókò náà, ó fún wọn ní ọgbà àjàrà àti oko.
But of the poor people, who had, nothing, did Nebuzaradan chief of the royal executioners, leave remaining in the land of Judah, and gave them vineyards and ploughed fields on the same day.
11 Nísinsin yìí, Nebukadnessari ọba àwọn Babeli pàṣẹ lórí Jeremiah, láti ọ̀dọ̀ Nebusaradani olórí ogun wá wí pé:
Then Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon gave command, concerning Jeremiah, —through Nebuzaradan chief of the royal executioners saying:
12 “Ẹ gbé e, kí ẹ sì bojútó o. Ẹ má ṣe ṣe ohun búburú fún un, ṣùgbọ́n ohunkóhun tó bá béèrè ni kí ẹ fi fún un.”
Take him and, thine eyes, set thou upon him, and do not unto him any harmful thing, —but just as he shall speak unto thee, so, shalt thou do with him.
13 Bẹ́ẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ pẹ̀lú, Nebusaradani balógun ìṣọ́, àti Nebusaradani olórí ìwẹ̀fà, àti Nergali-Ṣareseri, olórí amòye àti gbogbo àwọn ìjòyè ọba Babeli,
So Nebuzaradan chief of the royal executioners, sent, also Nebushazban, chief of the eunuchs, and Nergal-sharezer chief of the magi, and all the chiefs of the king of Babylon;
14 ránṣẹ́ láti mú Jeremiah kúrò nínú túbú. Wọ́n gbé e lọ fún Gedaliah ọmọ Ahikamu ọmọ Ṣafani láti mú padà lọ sí ilé àti máa wà pẹ̀lú àwọn ènìyàn rẹ̀.
yea they sent and fetched Jeremiah out of the guard-court, and delivered him unto Gedaliah son of Ahikam son of Shaphan, to bring him forth into a home, so he dwelt in the midst of the people.
15 Nígbà tí Jeremiah wà nínú túbú, ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa tọ̀ ọ́ wá wí pé:
Now unto Jeremiah, had come the word of Yahweh, while he was yet shut up in the guard-court, saying:
16 “Lọ sọ fún Ebedimeleki ará Kuṣi, ‘Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun, Ọlọ́run Israẹli wí: Èmi ṣetán láti mú ọ̀rọ̀ mi ṣẹ lórí ìlú yìí nípa àjálù kì í ṣe àlàáfíà. Ní àkókò náà ni yóò ṣẹ lójú rẹ.
Go and speak to Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, saying, —Thus saith Yahweh of hosts God of Israel, Behold me! bringing about my words against this city, for, calamity—and not for blessing, —and they shall come to pass before thee, in that day.
17 Ṣùgbọ́n, Èmi yóò gbà ọ́ lọ́jọ́ náà ni Olúwa wí. A kò ní fi ọ́ lé ọwọ́ àwọn tí o bẹ̀rù.
But I will deliver thee in that day, Declareth Yahweh, —and thou shalt not be given up into the hand of the men from the face of whom, thou, mightest shrink with fear.
18 Èmi yóò gbà ọ́ là; o kò ní ṣubú láti ipa idà; ṣùgbọ́n ìwọ yóò sá àsálà fún ẹ̀mí rẹ, nítorí pé ìwọ ní ìgbẹ́kẹ̀lé nínú mi, ni Olúwa wí.’”
For I will, surely, deliver, thee, and by the sword, shalt thou not fall, —but thou shalt have thine own life as a spoil, Because thou hast trusted in me, Declareth Yahweh.
