< Jeremiah 22 >

1 Báyìí ni Olúwa wí, “Sọ̀kalẹ̀ lọ sí ààfin ọba Juda, kí o sì sọ ọ̀rọ̀ yìí níbẹ̀:
The LORD said, “Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and speak this word there:
2 ‘Gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa ìwọ ọba Juda, tí ó jókòó ní ìtẹ́ Dafidi, ìwọ, àwọn ènìyàn rẹ àti àwọn ìránṣẹ́ rẹ, tí ó wọlé láti ẹnu ibodè wọ̀nyí.
‘Hear the LORD’s word, king of Judah, who sits on David’s throne—you, your servants, and your people who enter in by these gates.
3 Báyìí ni Olúwa wí: Ṣé ohun tí ó jẹ́ òtítọ́ tí ó sì yẹ, kí o sì gba ẹni tí a fi ẹ̀tọ́ rẹ̀ dù ú kúrò lọ́wọ́ aninilára. Kí ó má ṣe fi agbára àti ìkà lé àlejò, aláìní baba, tàbí opó, ìwọ kò sì gbọdọ̀ ta ẹ̀jẹ̀ aláìṣẹ̀ sílẹ̀ níbí yìí.
The LORD says: “Execute justice and righteousness, and deliver him who is robbed out of the hand of the oppressor. Do no wrong. Do no violence to the foreigner, the fatherless, or the widow. Don’t shed innocent blood in this place.
4 Nítorí bí ẹ̀yin bá tẹ̀lé àṣẹ wọ̀nyí, nígbà náà ni àwọn ọba tí ó jókòó lórí ìtẹ́ Dafidi yóò gba inú ààfin láti ẹnu-ọ̀nà, wọn yóò gun kẹ̀kẹ́ àti ẹṣin, àwọn àti ìránṣẹ́ wọn àti àwọn ènìyàn wọn.
For if you do this thing indeed, then kings sitting on David’s throne will enter in by the gates of this house, riding in chariots and on horses—they, their servants, and their people.
5 Ṣùgbọ́n bí ẹ̀yin kò bá tẹ̀lé àṣẹ wọ̀nyí, mo búra fúnra mi pé ààfin yìí yóò di ìparun ni Olúwa wí.’”
But if you will not hear these words, I swear by myself,” says the LORD, “that this house will become a desolation.”’”
6 Nítorí báyìí ni Olúwa wí, nípa ààfin ọba Juda, “Bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ wí pé ìwọ dàbí Gileadi sí mi, gẹ́gẹ́ bí góńgó òkè Lebanoni, dájúdájú Èmi yóò sọ ọ́ di aṣálẹ̀, àní gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìlú tí a kò gbé inú wọn.
For the LORD says concerning the house of the king of Judah: “You are Gilead to me, the head of Lebanon. Yet surely I will make you a wilderness, cities which are not inhabited.
7 Èmi ó ya àwọn apanirun sọ́tọ̀ fún ọ, olúkúlùkù ọkùnrin pẹ̀lú ohun ìjà rẹ̀, wọn yóò sì gé àṣàyàn igi kedari rẹ lulẹ̀, wọn ó sì kó wọn jù sínú iná.
I will prepare destroyers against you, everyone with his weapons, and they will cut down your choice cedars, and cast them into the fire.
8 “Àwọn ènìyàn láti ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ orílẹ̀-èdè yóò rékọjá lẹ́bàá ìlú yìí wọn yóò sì máa bi ara wọn léèrè pé, ‘Èéṣe tí Olúwa ṣe irú èyí sí ìlú ńlá yìí?’
“Many nations will pass by this city, and they will each ask his neighbour, ‘Why has the LORD done this to this great city?’
9 Ìdáhùn wọn yóò sì jẹ́: ‘Nítorí tí wọ́n ti kọ májẹ̀mú Olúwa Ọlọ́run wọn sílẹ̀, wọn ti ń fi orí balẹ̀ fún ọlọ́run mìíràn, wọ́n sì sìn wọ́n.’”
Then they will answer, ‘Because they abandoned the covenant of the LORD their God, worshipped other gods, and served them.’”
10 Nítorí náà má ṣe sọkún nítorí ọba tí ó ti kú tàbí ṣọ̀fọ̀ fún àdánù rẹ̀, ṣùgbọ́n ẹ sọkún kíkorò fún ẹni tí a lé kúrò nílùú nítorí kì yóò padà wá mọ́ tàbí fi ojú rí ilẹ̀ tí a ti bí i.
Don’t weep for the dead. Don’t bemoan him; but weep bitterly for him who goes away, for he will return no more, and not see his native country.
11 Nítorí báyìí ni Olúwa wí, nípa Ṣallumu ọmọ Josiah ọba Juda tí ó jẹ ọba lẹ́yìn baba rẹ̀, ṣùgbọ́n tí ó jáde kúrò níhìn-ín: “Òun kì yóò padà wá mọ́.
For the LORD says touching Shallum the son of Josiah, king of Judah, who reigned instead of Josiah his father, and who went out of this place: “He won’t return there any more.
12 Yóò kú ni ibi tí a mú u ní ìgbèkùn lọ, kì yóò sì rí ilẹ̀ yìí mọ́.”
But he will die in the place where they have led him captive. He will see this land no more.”
13 “Ègbé ni fún ẹni tí a kọ́ ààfin rẹ̀ lọ́nà àìṣòdodo, àti àwọn yàrá òkè rẹ̀ lọ́nà àìtọ́ tí ó mú kí àwọn ará ìlú rẹ ṣiṣẹ́ lásán láìsan owó iṣẹ́ wọn fún wọn.
“Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness, and his rooms by injustice; who uses his neighbour’s service without wages, and doesn’t give him his hire;
14 Ó wí pé, ‘Èmi ó kọ́ ààfin ńlá fún ara mi àwọn yàrá òkè tí ó fẹ̀, ojú fèrèsé rẹ̀ yóò tóbi.’ A ó sì fi igi kedari bò ó, a ó fi ohun aláwọ̀ pupa ṣe é ní ọ̀ṣọ́.
who says, ‘I will build myself a wide house and spacious rooms,’ and cuts out windows for himself, with a cedar ceiling, and painted with red.
15 “Ìwọ ó ha jẹ ọba kí ìwọ kí ó lè ní ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ igi kedari? Baba rẹ kò ha ní ohun jíjẹ àti mímu? Ó ṣe ohun tí ó tọ́ àti òdodo, nítorí náà ó dára fún un.
“Should you reign because you strive to excel in cedar? Didn’t your father eat and drink, and do justice and righteousness? Then it was well with him.
16 Ó gbèjà òtòṣì àti aláìní, ohun gbogbo sì dára fún un. Bí a ti mọ̀ mí kọ́ ni èyí?” ni Olúwa wí.
He judged the cause of the poor and needy; so then it was well. Wasn’t this to know me?” says the LORD.
17 “Ṣùgbọ́n ojú rẹ àti ọkàn rẹ wà lára èrè àìṣòótọ́ láti ta ẹ̀jẹ̀ aláìṣẹ̀ sílẹ̀ ìnilára àti ìlọ́nilọ́wọ́gbà.”
But your eyes and your heart are only for your covetousness, for shedding innocent blood, for oppression, and for doing violence.”
18 Nítorí náà báyìí ni Olúwa wí, nípa Jehoiakimu ọmọ Josiah ọba Juda: “Wọn kì yóò ṣọ̀fọ̀ fún un: wí pé, ‘Ó ṣe, arákùnrin mi! Ó ṣe, arábìnrin mi!’ Wọn kì yóò ṣọ̀fọ̀ fún un: wí pé, ‘Ó ṣe, olúwa tàbí ó ṣe ọlọ́lá!’
Therefore the LORD says concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah: “They won’t lament for him, saying, ‘Ah my brother!’ or, ‘Ah sister!’ They won’t lament for him, saying ‘Ah lord!’ or, ‘Ah his glory!’
19 A ó sin òkú rẹ̀ bí i kẹ́tẹ́kẹ́tẹ́ tí a wọ́ sọnù láti ẹnu ibodè Jerusalẹmu.”
He will be buried with the burial of a donkey, drawn and cast out beyond the gates of Jerusalem.”
20 “Gòkè lọ sí Lebanoni, kígbe síta, kí a sì gbọ́ ohùn rẹ ní Baṣani, kí o kígbe sókè láti Abarimu, nítorí a ti ṣẹ́ gbogbo olùfẹ́ rẹ túútúú.
“Go up to Lebanon, and cry out. Lift up your voice in Bashan, and cry from Abarim; for all your lovers have been destroyed.
21 Èmi ti kìlọ̀ fún ọ nígbà tí o rò pé kò séwu, ṣùgbọ́n o sọ pé, ‘Èmi kì yóò fetísílẹ̀!’ Èyí ni iṣẹ́ rẹ láti ìgbà èwe rẹ, ìwọ kò fìgbà kan gba ohùn mi gbọ́.
I spoke to you in your prosperity, but you said, ‘I will not listen.’ This has been your way from your youth, that you didn’t obey my voice.
22 Ẹ̀fúùfù yóò lé gbogbo àwọn olùṣọ́-àgùntàn rẹ̀ lọ, gbogbo àwọn olùfẹ́ rẹ yóò lọ sí ìgbèkùn, nígbà náà ni a ó kẹ́gàn rẹ, ojú yóò tì ọ́ nítorí gbogbo ìwà búburú rẹ.
The wind will feed all your shepherds, and your lovers will go into captivity. Surely then you will be ashamed and confounded for all your wickedness.
23 Ìwọ tí ń gbé ‘Lebanoni,’ tí ó tẹ́ ìtẹ́ sí orí igi kedari, ìwọ yóò ti kérora pẹ́ tó, nígbà tí ìrora bá dé bá ọ, ìrora bí i ti obìnrin tí ń rọbí!
Inhabitant of Lebanon, who makes your nest in the cedars, how greatly to be pitied you will be when pangs come on you, the pain as of a woman in travail!
24 “Dájúdájú bí èmi ti wà láààyè,” ni Olúwa wí, “Bí Koniah ọmọ Jehoiakimu ọba Juda tilẹ̀ jẹ́ òrùka èdìdì lọ́wọ́ ọ̀tún mi, síbẹ̀ èmi ó fà ọ́ tu kúrò níbẹ̀.
“As I live,” says the LORD, “though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah were the signet on my right hand, I would still pluck you from there.
25 Èmi ó sì fà ọ́ lé ọwọ́ àwọn tí ó ń wá ẹ̀mí rẹ, àwọn tí ìwọ bẹ̀rù, àní lé ọwọ́ Nebukadnessari, ọba Babeli àti ọwọ́ àwọn ará Babeli.
I would give you into the hand of those who seek your life, and into the hand of them of whom you are afraid, even into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of the Chaldeans.
I will cast you out with your mother who bore you into another country, where you were not born; and there you will die.
27 Ẹ̀yin kì yóò padà sí ilẹ̀ tí ẹ̀yin fẹ́ mọ́ láéláé.”
But to the land to which their soul longs to return, there they will not return.”
28 Ǹjẹ́ Jehoiakini ẹni ẹ̀gàn yàtọ̀ sí ìkòkò òfìfo, ohun èlò tí ẹnìkan kò fẹ́? Èéṣe tí a fi òun àti àwọn ọmọ rẹ̀ sókè sí ilẹ̀ tí wọn kò mọ̀.
Is this man Coniah a despised broken vessel? Is he a vessel in which no one delights? Why are they cast out, he and his offspring, and cast into a land which they don’t know?
29 Ìwọ ilẹ̀, ilẹ̀, ilẹ̀, gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa!
O earth, earth, earth, hear the LORD’s word!
30 Báyìí ni Olúwa wí: “Kọ àkọsílẹ̀ ọkùnrin yìí sínú ìwé gẹ́gẹ́ bí aláìlọ́mọ, ẹni tí kì yóò ṣe rere ní ọjọ́ ayé rẹ̀; nítorí ọ̀kan nínú irú-ọmọ rẹ̀ kì yóò ṣe rere, èyíkéyìí wọn kì yóò jókòó lórí ìtẹ́ Dafidi tàbí jẹ ọba ní Juda mọ́.”
The LORD says, “Record this man as childless, a man who will not prosper in his days; for no more will a man of his offspring prosper, sitting on David’s throne and ruling in Judah.”
