< Jeremiah 19 >

1 Èyí ní ohun tí Olúwa wí: “Lọ ra ìkòkò lọ́dọ̀ alámọ̀, mú dání lára àwọn àgbàgbà ọkùnrin àti wòlíì.
Thus sayth the Lord, Goe, and buy an earthen bottel of a potter, and take of the ancients of the people, and of the ancients of the Priests,
2 Kí o sì lọ sí àfonífojì ọmọ Beni-Hinnomu, níwájú ẹnu ibodè Harsiti, níbẹ̀ ni kí o sì kéde gbogbo ọ̀rọ̀ tí èmi yóò sọ fún ọ.
And goe forth vnto the valley of Ben-hinnom, which is by the entrie of the East gate: and thou shalt preache there the wordes, that I shall tell thee,
3 Kí o sì wí pé, ‘Gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa ẹ̀yin ọba àwọn Juda àti ẹ̀yin ará Jerusalẹmu. Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun Ọlọ́run Israẹli sọ. Dẹtí sí mi! Èmi yóò mú ìparun wá síbí, etí gbogbo wọn tó bá gbọ́ ọ yóò hó yaya.
And shalt say, Heare yee the worde of the Lord, O Kings of Iudah, and inhabitantes of Ierusalem, Thus sayth the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, Behold, I will bring a plague vpon this place, the which whosoeuer heareth, his eares shall tingle.
4 Nítorí wọ́n ti gbàgbé mi, wọ́n sì ti sọ ibí di ilé fún òrìṣà àjèjì; wọ́n ti sun ẹbọ nínú rẹ̀ fún òrìṣà tí àwọn baba wọn tàbí tí ọba Juda kò mọ̀ rí, wọ́n ti fi ẹ̀jẹ̀ aláìṣẹ̀ kún ilẹ̀ yìí.
Because they haue forsaken me, and prophaned this place, and haue burnt incense in it vnto other gods, whome neyther they, nor their fathers haue knowen, nor the Kings of Iudah (they haue filled this place also with the blood of innocents,
5 Wọ́n ti kọ́ ibi gíga fún Baali láti sun ọmọkùnrin wọn gẹ́gẹ́ bí ohun ẹbọ sísun sí Baali—èyí tí èmi kò pàṣẹ láti ṣe, tí èmi kò sì sọ, tàbí tí kò sì ru sókè láti inú ọkàn mi.
And they haue built the hie places of Baal, to burne their sonnes with fire for burnt offrings vnto Baal, which I commanded not, nor spake it, neither came it into my minde)
6 Nítorí náà ṣọ́ra ọjọ́ ń bọ̀ ni Olúwa wí nígbà tí àwọn ènìyàn kì yóò pe ibí ní Tofeti mọ́ tàbí àfonífojì ọmọ Hinnomu, ṣùgbọ́n àfonífojì Ìpakúpa.
Therefore behold, the dayes come, sayth the Lord, that this place shall no more be called Topheth, nor ye valley of Ben-hinnom, but the valley of slaughter.
7 “‘Ní ibí yìí ni èmi yóò ti pa èrò Juda àti Jerusalẹmu run. Èmí yóò mú wọn ṣubú nípa idà níwájú àwọn ọ̀tá wọn, lọ́wọ́ àwọn tí ó ń wá ẹ̀mí wọn. Èmi yóò sì fi òkú wọn ṣe oúnjẹ fún àwọn ẹyẹ ojú ọ̀run àti ẹranko ilẹ̀.
And I will bring the counsell of Iudah and Ierusalem to nought in this place, and I will cause them to fall by the sword before their enemies, and by the hand of them that seeke their liues: and their carkeises will I giue to be meate for ye foules of the heauen, and to the beastes of the fielde.
8 Èmi yóò sọ ìlú yìí di ahoro àti ohun ẹ̀gàn, gbogbo àwọn tí ń kọjá yóò bẹ̀rù wọn yóò sì máa fòyà nítorí gbogbo ọgbẹ́ rẹ̀.
And I will make this citie desolate and an hissing, so that euery one that passeth thereby, shalbe astonished and hisse because of all ye plagues thereof.
9 Èmi yóò mú kí wọ́n jẹ ẹran-ara ọmọ wọn ọkùnrin àti ẹran-ara ọmọ wọn obìnrin, ẹnìkínní yóò sì jẹ ẹran-ara ẹnìkejì, nígbà ìdótì àti ìhámọ́ láti ọwọ́ ọ̀tá wọn, àti àwọn tí ó ń wá ẹ̀mí wọn.’
And I will feede the with the flesh of their sonnes and with the flesh of their daughters, and euery one shall eate the flesh of his friende in the siege and straitnesse, wherewith their enemies that seeke their liues, shall hold them strait.
10 “Nígbà náà ni ìwọ yóò fọ́ ìkòkò náà ní ojú àwọn tí ó bá ọ lọ.
Then shalt thou breake the bottell in the sight of the men that go with thee,
11 Kí o sì sọ fún wọn pé, ‘Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun wí. Èmi a fọ́ orílẹ̀-èdè yìí àti ìlú yìí gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìkòkò amọ̀ yìí ṣe fọ́ tí kò sì ní sí àtúnṣe. Wọn a sì sin àwọn òkú sí Tofeti títí tí kò fi ní sí ààyè mọ́.
And shalt say vnto them, Thus saith ye Lord of hostes, Euen so will I breake this people and this citie, as one breaketh a potters vessell, that cannot be made whole againe, and they shall bury them in Topheth till there be no place to bury.
12 Èyí ni ohun tí èmi yóò ṣe sí ibí yìí àti àwọn tí ń gbé ní ibí yìí ni Olúwa wí. Èmi yóò mú ìlú yìí dàbí Tofeti.
Thus will I doe vnto this place, sayth the Lord, and to the inhabitantes thereof, and I will make this citie like Topheth.
13 Àwọn ilé tí ó wà ní Jerusalẹmu àti ti ọba ìlú Juda ni a ó sọ di àìmọ́ bí Tofeti, gbogbo ilé tí wọ́n ti ń sun tùràrí ni orí òrùlé sí gbogbo ogun ọ̀run, tí a sì ń rú ẹbọ mímu sí ọlọ́run mìíràn.’”
For the houses of Ierusalem, and the houses of the Kings of Iudah shalbe defiled as the place of Topheth, because of al the houses vpon whose roofes they haue burnt incense vnto all the host of heauen, and haue powred out drinke offerings vnto other gods.
14 Jeremiah sì padà láti Tofeti níbi tí Olúwa rán an sí láti sọ àsọtẹ́lẹ̀ ó sì dúró ní gbangba tẹmpili Olúwa, ó sì sọ fún gbogbo ènìyàn pé,
Then came Ieremiah from Topheth, where the Lord had sent him to prophecie, and he stood in the court of the Lordes house, and sayde to all the people,
15 “Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun, Ọlọ́run Israẹli wí: ‘Tẹ́tí sílẹ̀! Èmi yóò mú ìdààmú tí mo ti sọ àsọtẹ́lẹ̀ rẹ̀ bá ìlú yìí àti ìgbèríko tí ó yí i ká, nítorí ọlọ́rùn líle ni wọ́n, wọn kò si ní fẹ́ fetí sí ọ̀rọ̀ mi.’”
Thus saith the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, Beholde, I will bring vpon this citie, and vpon all her townes, all the plagues that I haue pronounced against it, because they haue hardened their neckes, and would not heare my wordes.
