< Jeremiah 15 >
1 Nígbà náà ni Olúwa sọ fún mi pé: “Kódà kí Mose àti Samuẹli dúró níwájú mi, ọkàn mi kì yóò lọ sọ́dọ̀ àwọn ènìyàn wọ̀nyí. Mú wọn kúrò níwájú mi! Jẹ́ kí wọn ó lọ!
And Jehovah saith unto me: Though Moses and Samuel should stand before Me, My soul is not toward this people, Send from before My face, and they go out.
2 Tí wọ́n bá sì bi ọ́ pé, ‘Níbo ni kí a lọ?’ Sọ fún wọn pé, ‘Báyìí ni Olúwa wí: “‘Àwọn tí a kọ ikú mọ́, sí ikú; àwọn tí a kọ idà mọ́, sí idà; àwọn tí a kọ ìyàn mọ́, sí ìyàn; àwọn tí a kọ ìgbèkùn mọ́ sí ìgbèkùn.’
And it hath come to pass, when they say to thee, Whither do we go out? that thou hast said unto them, Thus said Jehovah: Those who [are] for death — to death, And those who are for the sword, to the sword, And those who are for famine, to famine, And those who are for captivity, to captivity.
3 “Èmi yóò rán oríṣìí ìjìyà mẹ́rin láti kọlù wọ́n,” ni Olúwa wí, “Idà láti pa, àwọn ajá láti wọ́ wọn lọ, àwọn ẹyẹ ojú ọ̀run àti àwọn ẹranko orí ilẹ̀ láti jẹ àti láti parun.
And I have appointed over them four kinds, an affirmation of Jehovah, The sword to slay, and the dogs to drag, And the fowl of the heavens, And the beast of the earth, to consume and to devour.
4 N ó sọ wọ́n di ẹni ìkórìíra níwájú gbogbo ìjọba ayé torí ohun tí Manase ọmọ Hesekiah ọba Juda ṣe ní Jerusalẹmu.
And I have given them for a trembling To all kingdoms of the earth, Because of Manasseh son of Hezekiah king of Judah, For that which he did in Jerusalem.
5 “Ta ni yóò ṣàánú rẹ, ìwọ Jerusalẹmu? Ta ni yóò dárò rẹ? Ta ni yóò dúró béèrè àlàáfíà rẹ?
For who hath pity on thee, O Jerusalem? And who doth bemoan for thee? And who turneth aside to ask of thy welfare?
6 O ti kọ̀ mí sílẹ̀,” ni Olúwa wí, “Ìwọ sì wà nínú ìpadàsẹ́yìn. Nítorí náà, Èmi yóò dáwọ́lé ọ, èmi ó sì pa ọ́ run, Èmi kò sì ní fi ojú àánú wò ọ́ mọ́.
Thou — thou hast left Me — an affirmation of Jehovah, Backward thou goest, And I stretch out My hand against thee, And I destroy thee, I have been weary of repenting,
7 Èmi kò tún lè fi ìfẹ́ hàn si ọ, Èmi yóò fi àtẹ fẹ́ wọn sí ẹnu-ọ̀nà ìlú náà. Èmi yóò mú ìṣọ̀fọ̀ àti ìparun bá àwọn ènìyàn mi nítorí pé wọn kò tí ì yípadà kúrò lọ́nà wọn.
And I scatter them with a fan, in the gates the land, I bereaved, I have destroyed My people, From their ways they turned not back.
8 Èmi yóò jẹ́ kí àwọn opó wọn pọ̀ ju yanrìn Òkun lọ. Ní ọjọ́-kanrí ni èmi ó mú apanirun kọlu àwọn ìyá ọmọkùnrin wọn. Lójijì ni èmi yóò mú ìfòyà àti ìbẹ̀rù bá wọn.
Its widows have been more to Me than the sand of the seas, I brought in to them — against the mother — A young man — a spoiler — at noon. I caused to fall upon her suddenly, wrath and trouble.
9 Ìyá ọlọ́mọ méje yóò dákú, yóò sì mí ìmí ìgbẹ̀yìn. Òòrùn rẹ yóò wọ̀ lọ́sàn án gangan, yóò di ẹni ẹ̀tẹ́ òun àbùkù. Èmi yóò fi àwọn tí ó bá yè síwájú àwọn ọ̀tá wọn tí idà wà lọ́wọ́ wọn,” ni Olúwa wí.
Languished hath the bearer of seven, She hath breathed out her spirit, Gone in hath her sun while yet day, It hath been ashamed and confounded, And their residue to the sword I give up before their enemies, An affirmation of Jehovah.
10 Háà! Ó ṣe tí ìyá mi bí mi, ọkùnrin tí gbogbo ilẹ̀ dojúkọ tí wọ́n sì bá jà! Èmi kò wínni, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni èmi kò yá lọ́wọ́ ẹnikẹ́ni, síbẹ̀, gbogbo ènìyàn ló ń fi mí ré.
Woe to me, my mother, For thou hast borne me a man of strife, And a man of contention to all the land, I have not lent on usury, Nor have they lent on usury to me — All of them are reviling me.
11 Olúwa sọ pé, “Dájúdájú èmi ò dá ọ sí fún ìdí kan pàtó; dájúdájú mo mú kí àwọn ọ̀tá rẹ tẹríba níwájú rẹ nígbà ibi àti ìpọ́njú.
Jehovah said, Did I not direct thee for good? Did not I intercede for thee in a time of evil, And in a time of adversity, with the enemy?
12 “Ǹjẹ́ ẹnìkan lè fi ọwọ́ ṣẹ́ irin irin láti àríwá tàbí idẹ?
Doth one break iron — northern iron, and brass?
13 “Gbogbo ọlá àti ìṣúra rẹ ni èmi ó fi sílẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìkógun láìgba nǹkan kan nítorí gbogbo ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ rẹ jákèjádò orílẹ̀-èdè rẹ.
Thy strength and thy treasures For a prey I do give — not for price, Even for all thy sins, and in all thy borders.
14 Èmi yóò fi ọ́ ṣẹrú fún àwọn ọ̀tá rẹ ní ìlú tí ìwọ kò mọ̀ nítorí ìbínú mi yóò rán iná tí yóò jó ọ.”
And I have caused thine enemies To pass over into the land — Thou hast not known, For a fire hath been kindled in Mine anger, Against you it doth burn.
15 Ó yé ọ, ìwọ Olúwa; rántí mi kí o sì ṣe ìtọ́jú mi. Gbẹ̀san mi lára àwọn tó dìtẹ̀ mi. Ìwọ ti jìyà fún ìgbà pípẹ́, má ṣe mú mi lọ; nínú bí mo ṣe jìyà nítorí tìrẹ.
Thou, Thou hast known, O Jehovah, Remember me, and inspect me, And take vengeance for me of my pursuers, In Thy long-suffering take me not away, Know — I have borne for Thee reproach.
16 Nígbà tí ọ̀rọ̀ rẹ dé, mo jẹ wọ́n, àwọn ni ìdùnnú àti ayọ̀ ọkàn mi, nítorí pé orúkọ rẹ ni a fi ń pè mí, Ìwọ Olúwa Ọlọ́run Alágbára.
Thy words have been found, and I eat them, And Thy word is to me for a joy, And for the rejoicing of my heart, For Thy name is called on me, O Jehovah, God of Hosts.
17 Èmi kò fìgbà kan jókòó láàrín àwọn ẹlẹ́gàn, n ko bá wọn yọ ayọ̀ pọ̀; mo dá jókòó torí pé ọwọ́ rẹ wà lára mi, ìwọ sì ti fi ìbínú rẹ kún inú mi.
I have not sat in an assembly of deriders, Nor do I exult, because of thy hand, — Alone I have sat, For [with] indignation Thou hast filled me.
18 Èéṣe tí ìrora mi kò lópin, tí ọgbẹ́ mi kò sì ṣe é wòsàn? Ní òtítọ́ ìwọ yóò dàbí kànga ẹ̀tàn sí mi, gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìsun tó kọ̀ tí kò sun?
Why hath my pain been perpetual? And my wound incurable? It hath refused to be healed, Thou art surely to me as a failing stream, Waters not stedfast.
19 Nítorí náà báyìí ni Olúwa wí, “Tí o bá ronúpìwàdà, Èmi ó dá ọ padà wá kí o lè máa sìn mí; tí ó bá sọ ọ̀rọ̀ tó dára, ìwọ yóò di agbẹnusọ mi. Jẹ́ kí àwọn ènìyàn yìí kọjú sí ọ; ṣùgbọ́n ìwọ kò gbọdọ̀ kọjú sí wọn.
Therefore, thus said Jehovah: If thou turnest back, then I bring thee back, Before Me thou dost stand, And if thou bringest out the precious from the vile, As My mouth thou art! They — they turn back unto thee, And thou dost not turn back unto them.
20 Èmi fi ọ́ ṣe odi idẹ tí ó lágbára, sí àwọn ènìyàn wọ̀nyí; wọn ó bá ọ jà ṣùgbọ́n wọn kò ní lè borí rẹ, nítorí pé, mo wà pẹ̀lú rẹ láti gbà ọ́ là, kí n sì dáàbò bò ọ́,” ni Olúwa wí.
And I have made thee to this people For a wall — brazen — fenced, And they have fought against thee, And they do not prevail against thee, For with thee [am] I to save thee, And to deliver thee — an affirmation of Jehovah,
21 “Èmi yóò gbà ọ́ sílẹ̀ lọ́wọ́ àwọn ìkà ènìyàn, Èmi yóò sì rà ọ́ padà kúrò lọ́wọ́ àwọn ẹni búburú.”
And I have delivered thee from the hand of evil doers, And I have ransomed thee From the hand of the terrible!
