< Jeremiah 13 >
1 Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa wí fún mi: “Lọ kí o sì ra àmùrè aṣọ ọ̀gbọ̀, kí o sì dì í mọ́ ẹ̀gbẹ́ rẹ, kí o má sì ṣe jẹ́ kí omi kí ó kàn án.”
Thus sayth the Lord vnto mee, Goe, and buy thee a linen girdle, and put it vpon thy loynes, and put it not in water.
2 Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni mo ra àmùrè gẹ́gẹ́ bí Olúwa ti wí, mo sì dì í mọ́ ẹ̀gbẹ́ mi.
So I bought the girdle according to the commandement of the Lord, and put it vpon my loynes.
3 Nígbà náà ni ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa tọ̀ mí wá nígbà kejì,
And the worde of the Lord came vnto me the second time, saying,
4 “Mú àmùrè tí o rà, kí o sì fiwé ẹ̀gbẹ́ rẹ, kí o sì lọ sí Perati, kí o lọ pa á mọ́ sí pàlàpálá òkúta.”
Take the girdle that thou hast bought, which is vpon thy loynes, and arise, goe towarde Perath, and hide it there in the cleft of the rocke.
5 Nígbà náà ni mo lọ pa á mọ́ ní Perati gẹ́gẹ́ bí Olúwa ti wí fún mi.
So I went, and hid it by Perath, as the Lord had commanded me.
6 Lẹ́yìn ọjọ́ díẹ̀, Olúwa sọ fún mi, “Lọ sí Perati kí o lọ mú àmùrè tí mo ní kí o pamọ́ síbẹ̀.”
And after many dayes, the Lord sayde vnto mee, Arise, goe towarde Perath, and take the girdle from thence, which I commanded thee to hide there.
7 Nígbà náà ni mo lọ sí Perati mo lọ wá àmùrè mi níbi tí mo pa á mọ́ sí, ṣùgbọ́n nísinsin yìí àmùrè náà ti bàjẹ́, kò sì wúlò fún ohunkóhun mọ́.
Then went I to Perath, and digged, and tooke the girdle from the place where I had hid it, and behold, the girdle was corrupt, and was profitable for nothing.
8 Nígbà náà ni ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa tọ̀ mí wá pé:
Then the word of the Lord came vnto me, saying,
9 “Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa sọ: ‘Bákan náà ni èmi yóò run ìgbéraga Juda àti ìgbéraga ńlá ti Jerusalẹmu.
Thus sayth the Lord, After this maner will I destroy the pride of Iudah, and the great pride of Ierusalem.
10 Àwọn ènìyàn búburú tí ó kùnà láti gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ mi, tí wọ́n ń lo agídí ọkàn wọn, tí ó sì ń rìn tọ àwọn òrìṣà láti sìn wọ́n, àti láti foríbalẹ̀ fún wọn, yóò sì dàbí àmùrè yìí tí kò wúlò fún ohunkóhun.
This wicked people haue refused to heare my word, and walke after ye stubbernesse of their owne heart, and walke after other gods to serue them, and to worship them: therefore they shalbe as this girdle, which is profitable to nothing.
11 Nítorí bí a ti lẹ àmùrè mọ́ ẹ̀gbẹ́ ènìyàn, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni a lẹ agbo ilé Israẹli àti gbogbo ilé Juda mọ́ mi,’ ni Olúwa wí, ‘kí wọn kí ó lè jẹ́ ènìyàn ògo àti ìyìn fún mi, ṣùgbọ́n wọn kò fẹ́ gbọ́.’
For as the girdle cleaueth to the loynes of a man, so haue I tied to me the whole house of Israel, and the whole house of Iudah, saith the Lord, that they might bee my people: that they might haue a name and prayse, and glory, but they would not heare.
12 “Sọ fún wọn, ‘Èyí ni Olúwa Ọlọ́run àwọn ọmọ Israẹli wí, gbogbo ìgò ni à ó fi ọtí wáìnì kún.’ Bí wọ́n bá sì sọ fún ọ pé, ‘Ṣé a kò mọ̀ pé gbogbo ìgò ni ó yẹ láti bu ọtí wáìnì kún?’
Therefore thou shalt saye vnto them this word, Thus sayth the Lord God of Israel, Euery bottell shalbe filled with wine, and they shall say vnto thee, Doe we not knowe that euery bottell shalbe filled with wine?
13 Nítorí náà sọ fún wọn pé, ‘Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa wí: Èmi yóò fi ìmutípara kún gbogbo olùgbé ilẹ̀ yìí pẹ̀lú ọba tí ó jókòó lórí ìtẹ́ Dafidi, àwọn àlùfáà, àwọn wòlíì gbogbo àwọn tó ń gbé ní Jerusalẹmu.
Then shalt thou say vnto them, Thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, euen the Kings that sit vpon the throne of Dauid, and the Priestes and the Prophets and all the inhabitantes of Ierusalem with drunkennesse.
14 Èmi yóò ti èkínní lu èkejì, àwọn baba àti ọmọkùnrin pọ̀ ni Olúwa wí. Èmi kì yóò dáríjì, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni èmi kì yóò ṣàánú, èmi kì yóò ṣe ìyọ́nú láti máa pa wọ́n run.’”
And I wil dash them one against another, euen the fathers and the sonnes together, sayeth the Lord: I will not spare, I will not pitie nor haue compassion, but destroy them.
15 Gbọ́ kí o sì fetísílẹ̀, ẹ má ṣe gbéraga, nítorí Olúwa ti sọ̀rọ̀.
Heare and giue eare, be not proude: for the Lord hath spoken it.
16 Ẹ fi ògo fún Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín, kí ó tó mú òkùnkùn wá, àti kí ó tó mú ẹsẹ̀ yín tàsé lórí òkè tí ó ṣókùnkùn. Nígbà tí ẹ̀yin sì ń retí ìmọ́lẹ̀, òun yóò sọ ọ́ di òjìji yóò sì ṣe bi òkùnkùn biribiri.
Giue glory to the Lord your God before he bring darknes, and or euer your feete stumble in the darke mountaines, and whiles you look for light, he turne it into the shadowe of death and make it as darkenesse.
17 Ṣùgbọ́n bí ẹ̀yin kò bá fetísílẹ̀, Èmi yóò sọkún ní ìkọ̀kọ̀ nítorí ìgbéraga yín. Ojú mi yóò sun ẹkún kíkorò, tí omi ẹkún, yóò sì máa sàn jáde, nítorí a kó agbo Olúwa lọ ìgbèkùn.
But if ye will not heare this, my soule shall weepe in secrete for your pride, and mine eye shall weepe and drop downe teares, because the Lords flocke is caried away captiue.
18 Sọ fún ọba àti ayaba pé, “Ẹ rẹ ara yín sílẹ̀, ẹ sọ̀kalẹ̀ láti orí ìtẹ́ yín, adé ògo yín bọ́ sí ilẹ̀ láti orí yín.”
Say vnto the King and to the Queene, Humble yourselues, sit downe, for the crowne of your glory shall come downe from your heads.
The cities of the South shall be shut vp, and no man shall open them: all Iudah shall be caried away captiue: it shall be wholy caried away captiue.
20 Gbé ojú rẹ sókè, kí o sì wo àwọn tí ó ń bọ̀ láti àríwá. Níbo ni agbo ẹran tí a fi sí abẹ́ àkóso rẹ wà; àgùntàn tí ò ń mú yangàn.
Lift vp your eyes and beholde them that come from the North: where is the flocke that was giuen thee, euen thy beautifull flocke?
21 Kí ni ìwọ yóò wí nígbà tí Olúwa bá dúró lórí rẹ àwọn tí o mú bí ọ̀rẹ́ àtàtà. Ǹjẹ́ kò ní jẹ́ ìrora fún ọ bí aboyún tó ń rọbí?
What wilt thou saye, when hee shall visite thee? (for thou hast taught them to be captaines and as chiefe ouer thee) shall not sorow take thee as a woman in trauaile?
22 Tí o bá sì bi ara rẹ léèrè, “Kí ni ìdí rẹ̀ tí èyí fi ṣẹlẹ̀ sí mi?” Ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ tí o ṣẹ̀ ni aṣọ rẹ fi fàya tí a sì ṣe é ní ìṣekúṣe.
And if thou say in thine heart, Wherefore come these things vpon me? For the multitude of thine iniquities are thy skirts discouered and thy heeles made bare.
23 Ǹjẹ́ Etiopia le yí àwọ̀ rẹ̀ padà? Tàbí ẹkùn lè yí àwọ̀ rẹ̀ padà? Bí èyí kò ti lè rí bẹ́ẹ̀ náà ni ẹ̀yin tí ìwà búburú bá ti mọ́ lára kò lè ṣe rere.
Can the blacke More change his skin? or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do euill.
24 “N ó fọ́n ọn yín ká bí i ìyàngbò tí ẹ̀fúùfù ilẹ̀ aṣálẹ̀ ń fẹ́.
Therefore will I scatter them, as the stubble that is taken away with the South winde.
25 Èyí ni ìpín tìrẹ; tí mo ti fi sílẹ̀ fún ọ,” ni Olúwa wí, “Nítorí ìwọ ti gbàgbé mi o sì gbẹ́kẹ̀lé àwọn ọlọ́run àjèjì.
This is thy portion, and ye part of thy measures from me, sayth the Lord, because thou hast forgotten me and trusted in lyes.
26 N ó sí aṣọ lójú rẹ, kí ẹ̀sín rẹ le hàn síta—
Therefore I haue also discouered thy skirts vpon thy face, that thy shame may appeare.
27 ìwà àgbèrè àti ìfẹ́kúfẹ̀ẹ́, àìlójútì panṣágà rẹ! Mo ti rí ìwà ìríra rẹ, lórí òkè àti ní pápá. Ègbé ni fún ọ ìwọ Jerusalẹmu! Yóò ti pẹ́ tó tí o ó fi máa wà ní àìmọ́?”
I haue seene thine adulteries, and thy neiings, the filthinesse of thy whoredome on the hils in the fieldes, and thine abominations. Wo vnto thee, O Ierusalem: wilt thou not bee made cleane? when shall it once be?
