< Jeremiah 12 >
1 Olúwa, olódodo ni ọ́ nígbàkígbà, nígbà tí mo mú ẹjọ́ kan tọ̀ ọ́ wá. Síbẹ̀ èmi yóò bá ọ sọ̀rọ̀ nípa òdodo rẹ. Èéṣe tí ọ̀nà àwọn ènìyàn búburú fi ń ṣe déédé? Èéṣe tí gbogbo àwọn aláìṣòdodo sì ń gbé ní ìrọ̀rùn?
You are righteous, LORD, when I contend with you; yet I would like to plead a case with you. Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why are they all at ease who deal very treacherously?
2 Ó ti gbìn wọ́n, wọ́n sì ti fi egbò múlẹ̀, wọ́n dàgbà wọ́n sì so èso. Gbogbo ìgbà ni ó wà ní ètè wọn, o jìnnà sí ọkàn wọn.
You have planted them. Yes, they have taken root. They grow. Yes, they produce fruit. You are near in their mouth, and far from their heart.
3 Síbẹ̀ o mọ̀ mí ní Olúwa, o ti rí mi o sì ti dán èrò mi nípa rẹ wò. Wọ, wọ́n lọ bí àgùntàn tí a fẹ́ pa. Yà wọ́n sọ́tọ̀ fún ọjọ́ pípa.
But you, LORD, know me. You see me, and test my heart toward you. Pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.
4 Yóò ti pẹ́ tó tí ọ̀gbẹlẹ̀ yóò fi wà, tí gbogbo ewéko igbó sì ń rọ? Nítorí àwọn ènìyàn búburú ni ó ń gbé ibẹ̀. Àwọn ẹranko àti àwọn ẹyẹ ti ṣègbé, pẹ̀lúpẹ̀lú àwọn ènìyàn ń sọ pé, “Kò lè rí ohun tó ṣẹlẹ̀ sí wa.”
How long will the land mourn, and the herbs of the whole country wither? Because of the wickedness of those who dwell therein, the animals and birds are consumed; because they said, “He won’t see our latter end.”
5 Bí ìwọ bá ń bá ẹlẹ́ṣẹ̀ sáré, tí àárẹ̀ sì mú ọ, báwo ni ìwọ yóò ṣe bá ẹṣin díje? Bí ìwọ bá kọsẹ̀ ní ilẹ̀ àlàáfíà, bí ìwọ bá ní ìgbẹ́kẹ̀lé, kí ni ìwọ ó ṣe nínú ẹkùn odò Jordani?
“If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you, then how can you contend with horses? Though in a land of peace you are secure, yet how will you do in the pride of the Jordan?
6 Àwọn arákùnrin rẹ àti àwọn ìdílé ti dà ọ́, kódà wọ́n ti kẹ̀yìn sí ọ, wọ́n ti hó lé ọ lórí. Má ṣe gbà wọ́n gbọ́ bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé wọ́n ń sọ̀rọ̀ rẹ dáradára.
For even your brothers, and the house of your father, even they have dealt treacherously with you! Even they have cried aloud after you! Don’t believe them, though they speak beautiful words to you.
7 Èmi yóò kọ ilé mi sílẹ̀, èmi yóò fi ìní mi sílẹ̀. Èmi yóò fi ẹni tí mo fẹ́ lé àwọn ọ̀tá rẹ̀ lọ́wọ́.
“I have forsaken my house. I have cast off my heritage. I have given the dearly beloved of my soul into the hand of her enemies.
8 Ogún mi ti rí sí mi bí i kìnnìún nínú igbó. Ó ń bú ramúramù mọ́ mi; nítorí náà mo kórìíra rẹ̀.
My heritage has become to me as a lion in the forest. She has uttered her voice against me. Therefore I have hated her.
9 Ogún mi kò ha ti rí sí mi bí ẹyẹ kannakánná tí àwọn ẹlẹgbẹ́ rẹ̀ dòyì ka, tí wọ́n sì kọjú ìjà sí i? Ẹ lọ, kí ẹ sì kó gbogbo ẹranko igbó jọ, ẹ mú wọn wá jẹ.
Is my heritage to me as a speckled bird of prey? Are the birds of prey against her all around? Go, assemble all the animals of the field. Bring them to devour.
10 Ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ olùṣọ́-àgùntàn ni yóò sì ba ọgbà àjàrà mi jẹ́, tí wọn yóò sì tẹ oko mi mọ́lẹ̀; wọ́n ó sọ oko dídára mi di ibi tí a ń da ìdọ̀tí sí.
Many shepherds have destroyed my vineyard. They have trodden my portion under foot. They have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.
11 A ó sọ ọ́ di aṣálẹ̀ ilẹ̀ tí kò wúlò níwájú mi, gbogbo ilẹ̀ ni yóò di ahoro nítorí kò sí ẹnìkankan tí yóò náání.
They have made it a desolation. It mourns to me, being desolate. The whole land is made desolate, because no one cares.
12 Gbogbo ibi gíga tí ó wà nínú aṣálẹ̀ ni àwọn apanirun ti gorí, nítorí idà Olúwa yóò pa láti ìkangun kìn-ín-ní dé ìkangun èkejì ilẹ̀ náà; kò sí àlàáfíà fún gbogbo alààyè.
Destroyers have come on all the bare heights in the wilderness; for the sword of the LORD devours from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land. No flesh has peace.
13 Àlìkámà ni wọn yóò gbìn, ṣùgbọ́n ẹ̀gún ni wọn yóò ká, wọn yóò fi ara wọn ṣe wàhálà, ṣùgbọ́n òfo ni èrè wọn. Kí ojú kí ó tì yín nítorí èrè yín, nítorí ìbínú gbígbóná Olúwa.
They have sown wheat, and have reaped thorns. They have exhausted themselves, and profit nothing. You will be ashamed of your fruits, because of the LORD’s fierce anger.”
14 Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa wí: “Ní ti gbogbo àwọn aládùúgbò mi búburú tí wọ́n gbẹ́sẹ̀ lé ogún tí mo fún àwọn ènìyàn Israẹli mi, Èmi yóò fà wọ́n tu kúrò lórí ilẹ̀ wọn, èmi yóò fa ìdílé Juda tu kúrò ní àárín wọn.
The LORD says, “Concerning all my evil neighbors, who touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit: Behold, I will pluck them up from off their land, and will pluck up the house of Judah from among them.
15 Ṣùgbọ́n tí mo bá fà wọ́n tu tán, Èmi yóò padà yọ́nú sí wọn. Èmi yóò sì padà fún oníkálùkù ní ogún ìní rẹ̀ pẹ̀lú ilẹ̀ ìní oníkálùkù.
It will happen that after I have plucked them up, I will return and have compassion on them. I will bring them again, every man to his heritage, and every man to his land.
16 Bí wọ́n bá sì kọ ìwà àwọn ènìyàn mi, tí wọ́n sì fi orúkọ mi búra wí pé, ‘Níwọ̀n bí Olúwa ń bẹ láààyè,’ gẹ́gẹ́ bí wọ́n ti kọ́ àwọn ènìyàn mi láti fi Baali búra, nígbà náà ni a ó gbé wọn ró láàrín àwọn ènìyàn mi.
It will happen, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, ‘As the LORD lives;’ even as they taught my people to swear by Baal, then they will be built up in the middle of my people.
17 Ṣùgbọ́n bí orílẹ̀-èdè kan kò bá gbọ́, Èmi yóò fà á tu pátápátá, èmi yóò sì pa wọ́n run,” ni Olúwa wí.
But if they will not hear, then I will pluck up that nation, plucking up and destroying it,” says the LORD.
