< Isaiah 9 >
1 Síbẹ̀síbẹ̀, kò ní sí ìpòrúru kankan mọ́ fún àwọn tí ó wà nínú ìbànújẹ́. Nígbà kan rí ó rẹ ilẹ̀ Sebuluni sílẹ̀ àti ilẹ̀ Naftali pẹ̀lú, ṣùgbọ́n ní ọjọ́ iwájú, yóò bu ọ̀wọ̀ fún Galili ti àwọn aláìkọlà, ní ọ̀nà Òkun, ní ẹ̀gbẹ̀ẹ̀gbẹ́ Jordani.
Nevertheless the dimness [shall] not [be] such as [was] in her distress, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun, and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict [her by] the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.
2 Àwọn ènìyàn tí ń rìn nínú òkùnkùn ti rí ìmọ́lẹ̀ ńlá; lórí àwọn tí ń gbé nínú ilẹ̀ òjìji ikú, ní ara wọn ni ìmọ́lẹ̀ mọ́ sí.
The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shades of death, upon them hath the light shined.
3 Ìwọ ti sọ orílẹ̀-èdè di ńlá; wọ́n sì yọ̀ níwájú rẹ gẹ́gẹ́ bí àwọn ènìyàn ti í yọ ayọ̀ ìkórè, gẹ́gẹ́ bí ènìyàn ti í yọ̀ nígbà tí à ń pín ìkógun.
Thou hast multiplied the nation, [and] not increased the joy: they joy before thee according to the joy in harvest, [and] as [men] rejoice when they divide the spoil.
4 Nítorí gẹ́gẹ́ bí ọjọ́ tí a ṣẹ́gun Midiani, ìwọ ti fọ́ ọ túútúú àjàgà ti ń pa wọ́n lẹ́rù, ọ̀pá tí ó dábùú èjìká wọn, ọ̀gọ aninilára wọn.
For thou hast broken the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day of Midian.
5 Gbogbo bàtà jagunjagun tí a ti lò lójú ogun àti gbogbo ẹ̀wù tí a yí nínú ẹ̀jẹ̀, ni yóò wà fún ìjóná, àti ohun èlò iná dídá.
For every battle of the warrior [is] with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but [this] shall be with burning [and] fuel of fire.
6 Nítorí a bí ọmọ kan fún wa, a fi ọmọkùnrin kan fún wa, ìjọba yóò sì wà ní èjìká rẹ̀. A ó sì máa pè é ní Ìyanu Olùdámọ̀ràn, Ọlọ́run Alágbára, Baba ayérayé, Ọmọ ọba aládé Àlàáfíà.
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7 Ní ti gbígbòòrò Ìjọba rẹ̀ àti àlàáfíà rẹ̀ ni kì yóò ní ìpẹ̀kun. Yóò jẹ ọba lórí ìtẹ́ Dafidi àti lórí ẹ̀kún un rẹ̀ gbogbo, nípa ìfìdímúlẹ̀ àti ìgbéró rẹ̀, pẹ̀lú òtítọ́ àti òdodo láti ìgbà náà lọ àti títí láéláé. Ìtara Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun ni yóò mú èyí ṣẹ.
Of the increase of [his] government and peace [there shall be] no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
8 Olúwa ti dojú iṣẹ́ kan kọ Jakọbu; yóò sì wá sórí Israẹli.
The LORD sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel.
9 Gbogbo ènìyàn ni yóò sì mọ̀ ọ́n— Efraimu àti gbogbo olùgbé Samaria— tí ó sọ pẹ̀lú ìgbéraga àti gààrù àyà pé.
And all the people shall know, [even] Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the pride and stoutness of heart,
10 Àwọn bíríkì ti wó lulẹ̀ ṣùgbọ́n a ó tún un kọ́ pẹ̀lú òkúta dídán, a ti gé àwọn igi sikamore lulẹ̀ ṣùgbọ́n igi kedari ní a ó fi dípò wọn.
The bricks have fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones; the sycamores are cut down, but we will change [them into] cedars.
11 Ṣùgbọ́n Olúwa fún àwọn ọ̀tá Resini ní agbára láti dojúkọ wọ́n ó sì ti rú àwọn ọ̀tá wọn sókè.
Therefore the LORD will set up the adversaries of Rezin against him, and join his enemies together;
12 Àwọn ará Aramu láti ìlà-oòrùn àti Filistini láti ìwọ̀-oòrùn. Wọ́n sì fi gbogbo ẹnu jẹ Israẹli run. Ní gbogbo èyí ìbínú rẹ̀ kò yí kúrò ṣùgbọ́n ọwọ́ rẹ̀ nà jáde síbẹ̀.
The Syrians before, and the Philistines behind; and they shall devour Israel with open mouth. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand [is] stretched out still.
13 Ṣùgbọ́n àwọn ènìyàn náà kò tí ì yípadà sí ẹni náà tí ó lù wọ́n bẹ́ẹ̀ ni wọ́n kò wá Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun.
For the people turn not to him that smiteth them, neither do they seek the LORD of hosts.
14 Nítorí náà ni Olúwa yóò ṣe ké àti orí àti ìrù kúrò ní Israẹli, àti ọ̀wá ọ̀pẹ àti koríko odò ní ọjọ́ kan ṣoṣo,
Therefore the LORD will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day.
15 àwọn àgbàgbà, àti àwọn gbajúmọ̀ ní orí, àwọn wòlíì tí ń kọ́ni ní irọ́ ni ìrù.
The ancient and honorable, he [is] the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he [is] the tail.
16 Àwọn tí ó ń tọ́ àwọn ènìyàn wọ̀nyí ṣì wọ́n lọ́nà, àwọn tí a sì tọ́ ni a ń sin sí ìparun.
For the leaders of this people cause [them] to err; and [they that are] led by them [are] destroyed.
17 Nítorí náà, Olúwa kì yóò dunnú sí àwọn ọ̀dọ́mọkùnrin tàbí kí ó káàánú àwọn aláìní baba àti opó, nítorí pé gbogbo wọn jẹ́ ìkà àti aláìmọ Ọlọ́run, ibi ni ó ti ẹnu wọn jáde. Síbẹ̀, fún gbogbo èyí, ìbínú rẹ̀ kò yí kúrò ọwọ́ rẹ̀ sì wà ní gbígbéró.
Therefore the LORD will have no joy in their young men, neither will have mercy on their fatherless and widows: for every one [is] a hypocrite and an evil-doer, and every mouth speaketh folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand [is] stretched out still.
18 Nítòótọ́ ìwà búburú ń jóni bí iná, yóò jó ẹ̀wọ̀n àti ẹ̀gún run, yóò sì rán nínú pàǹtí igbó, tó bẹ́ẹ̀ tí yóò fi gòkè lọ bí ọ̀wọ́n èéfín ti í gòkè.
For wickedness burneth as the fire: it shall devour the briers and thorns, and shall kindle in the thickets of the forest, and they shall mount up [like] the rising of smoke.
19 Nípasẹ̀ ìbínú Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun ilẹ̀ náà yóò di gbígbẹ àwọn ènìyàn yóò sì di ohun ìdáná, ẹnìkan kì yóò sì dá arákùnrin rẹ̀ sí.
Through the wrath of the LORD of hosts is the land darkened, and the people shall be as the fuel of the fire: no man shall spare his brother.
20 Ní apá ọ̀tún wọn yóò jẹrun, síbẹ̀ ebi yóò sì máa pa wọ́n, ní apá òsì, wọn yóò jẹ, ṣùgbọ́n, kò ní tẹ́ wọn lọ́rùn. Ẹnìkọ̀ọ̀kan yóò sì máa jẹ ẹran-ara apá rẹ̀.
And he shall snatch on the right hand, and be hungry; and he shall eat on the left hand, and they shall not be satisfied: they shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm:
21 Manase yóò máa jẹ Efraimu, nígbà tí Efraimu yóò jẹ Manase wọn yóò parapọ̀ dojúkọ Juda. Síbẹ̀síbẹ̀, ìbínú un rẹ̀ kò yí kúrò Ọwọ́ọ rẹ̀ sì wà ní gbígbéró.
Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim, Manasseh: [and] they together [shall be] against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand [is] stretched out still.
