< Isaiah 53 >
1 Ta ni ó ti gba ìròyìn in wa gbọ́ àti ta ni a ti fi apá Olúwa hàn fún?
Who would have had faith in the word which has come to our ears, and to whom had the arm of the Lord been unveiled?
2 Òun dàgbàsókè níwájú rẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ bí àṣẹ̀ṣẹ̀yọ irúgbìn, àti gẹ́gẹ́ bí i gbòǹgbò tí ó jáde láti inú ìyàngbẹ ilẹ̀. Òun kò ní ẹwà tàbí ògo láti fà wá sọ́dọ̀ ara rẹ̀, kò sí ohun kankan nínú àbùdá rẹ̀ tí ó fi yẹ kí a ṣàfẹ́rí i rẹ̀.
For his growth was like that of a delicate plant before him, and like a root out of a dry place: he had no grace of form, to give us pleasure;
3 A kẹ́gàn rẹ̀ àwọn ènìyàn sì kọ̀ ọ́ sílẹ̀, ẹni ìbànújẹ́, tí ó sì mọ bí ìpọ́njú ti rí. Gẹ́gẹ́ bí ẹnìkan tí àwọn ènìyàn ń fojú pamọ́ fún a kẹ́gàn rẹ, a kò sì bu ọlá fún un rárá.
Men made sport of him, turning away from him; he was a man of sorrows, marked by disease; and like one from whom men's faces are turned away, he was looked down on, and we put no value on him.
4 Lóòtítọ́ ó ti ru àìlera wa lọ ó sì ti ru ìbànújẹ́ wa pẹ̀lú, síbẹ̀ a kà á sí ẹni tí Ọlọ́run lù, tí ó lù, tí a sì pọ́n lójú.
But it was our pain he took, and our diseases were put on him: while to us he seemed as one diseased, on whom God's punishment had come.
5 Ṣùgbọ́n a sá a lọ́gbẹ́ nítorí àìṣedéédéé wa a pa á lára nítorí àìṣòdodo wa; ìjìyà tí ó mú àlàáfíà wá fún wa wà lórí i rẹ̀, àti nípa ọgbẹ́ rẹ̀ ni a fi mú wa láradá.
But it was for our sins he was wounded, and for our evil doings he was crushed: he took the punishment by which we have peace, and by his wounds we are made well.
6 Gbogbo wa bí àgùntàn, ti ṣìnà lọ, ẹnìkọ̀ọ̀kan wa ti yà sí ọ̀nà ara rẹ̀; Olúwa sì ti gbé e ka orí ara rẹ̀ gbogbo àìṣedéédéé wa.
We all went wandering like sheep; going every one of us after his desire; and the Lord put on him the punishment of us all.
7 A jẹ ẹ́ ní yà, a sì pọ́n ọn lójú, síbẹ̀ kò ya ẹnu rẹ̀; a mú un wá gẹ́gẹ́ bí ọ̀dọ́-àgùntàn sọ́dọ̀ alápatà, àti gẹ́gẹ́ bí àgùntàn tí ó dákẹ́ níwájú olùrẹ́run rẹ̀, síbẹ̀ kò ya ẹnu rẹ̀.
Men were cruel to him, but he was gentle and quiet; as a lamb taken to its death, and as a sheep before those who take her wool makes no sound, so he said not a word.
8 Pẹ̀lú ìpọ́nlójú àti ìdánilẹ́jọ́ ni a mú un jáde lọ, ta ni ó sì le sọ nípa ìrànlọ́wọ́ rẹ̀? Nítorí a ké e kúrò ní ilẹ̀ àwọn alààyè; nítorí àìṣedéédéé àwọn ènìyàn mi ni a ṣe lù ú.
They took away from him help and right, and who gave a thought to his fate? for he was cut off from the land of the living: he came to his death for the sin of my people.
9 A fún un ní ibojì pẹ̀lú àwọn ìkà, àti pẹ̀lú àwọn ọlọ́rọ̀ ní ikú rẹ̀, bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé kò hùwà jàgídíjàgan kan, tàbí kí a rí ẹ̀tàn kan ní ẹnu rẹ̀.
And they put his body into the earth with sinners, and his last resting-place was with the evil-doers, though he had done no wrong, and no deceit was in his mouth.
10 Síbẹ̀, ó wu Olúwa láti pa á lára àti láti mú kí ó jìyà, bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé Olúwa fi ayé rẹ̀ fún ẹbọ ẹ̀ṣẹ̀, Òun yóò rí àrọ́mọdọ́mọ rẹ̀ àti ọjọ́ ayé rẹ̀ yóò pẹ́ títí, àti ète Olúwa ni yóò gbèrú ní ọwọ́ rẹ̀.
And the Lord was pleased ... see a seed, long life, ... will do well in his hand. ...
11 Lẹ́yìn ìpọ́njú ẹ̀mí rẹ̀, òun yóò rí ìmọ́lẹ̀, ààyè yóò sì tẹ́ ẹ lọ́rùn; nípa ìmọ̀ rẹ̀ ìránṣẹ́ mi olódodo yóò dá ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ láre, Òun ni yóò sì ru àìṣedéédéé wọn.
... made clear his righteousness before men ... had taken their sins on himself.
12 Nítorí náà èmi yóò fún un ní ìpín pẹ̀lú àwọn ẹni ńlá òun yóò sì pín ìkógun pẹ̀lú àwọn alágbára, nítorí pé òun jọ̀wọ́ ẹ̀mí rẹ̀ fún ikú, tí a sì kà á mọ́ àwọn alárékọjá. Nítorí ó ru ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀, ó sì ṣe ìlàjà fún àwọn alárékọjá.
For this cause he will have a heritage with the great, and he will have a part in the goods of war with the strong, because he gave up his life, and was numbered with the evil-doers; taking on himself the sins of the people, and making prayer for the wrongdoers.
