< Isaiah 40 >

1 Ẹ tù ú nínú, ẹ tu ènìyàn mi nínú, ni Ọlọ́run yín wí.
“Be consoled, be consoled, O my people!” says your God.
2 Sọ̀rọ̀ pẹ̀lẹ́pẹ̀lẹ́ fún Jerusalẹmu kí o sì kéde fún un pé iṣẹ́ àṣekára rẹ̀ ti parí, pé à ti san gbèsè ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ rẹ̀, pé ó ti rí i gbà láti ọwọ́ Olúwa ìlọ́po méjì fún gbogbo ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ rẹ̀.
Speak to the heart of Jerusalem, and call out to her! For her malice has reached its end. Her iniquity has been forgiven. She has received double for all her sins from the hand of the Lord.
3 Ohùn ẹni tí ń kígbe ní ijù: “Ẹ tún ọ̀nà Olúwa ṣe, ṣe òpópó tí ó tọ́ ní aginjù fún Ọlọ́run wa.
The voice of one crying out in the desert: “Prepare the way of the Lord! Make straight the paths of our God, in a solitary place.
4 Gbogbo àfonífojì ni a ó gbé sókè, gbogbo òkè ńlá àti òkè kékeré ni yóò di pẹ̀tẹ́lẹ̀; wíwọ́ ni a ó sọ di títọ́ àti ọ̀nà pálapàla ni a óò sọ di títẹ́jú pẹrẹsẹ.
Every valley will be exalted, and every mountain and hill will be brought low. And the crooked will be straightened, and the uneven will become level ways.
5 Ògo Olúwa yóò sì di mí mọ̀, gbogbo ènìyàn lápapọ̀ ni yóò sì rí i. Nítorí ẹnu Olúwa ni ó ti sọ ọ́.”
And the glory of the Lord will be revealed. And all flesh together will see that the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
6 Ohùn kan wí pé, “Kígbe sókè.” Èmi sì sọ pé, “Igbe kí ni èmi ó ké?” “Gbogbo ènìyàn dàbí i koríko, àti gbogbo ògo wọn dàbí ìtànná igbó.
The voice of one saying, “Cry out!” And I said, “What should I cry out?” “All flesh is grass, and all its glory is like the flower of the field.
7 Koríko ń rọ ìtànná sì ń rẹ̀, nítorí èémí Olúwa ń fẹ́ lù wọ́n. Nítòótọ́ koríko ni àwọn ènìyàn.
The grass has dried up, and the flower has fallen. For the Spirit of the Lord has blown over it. Truly, the people are like grass.
8 Koríko ń rọ ìtànná sì ń rẹ̀, ṣùgbọ́n ọ̀rọ̀ Ọlọ́run wa dúró títí láé.”
The grass has dried up, and the flower has fallen. But the Word of our Lord remains for eternity.”
9 Ìwọ tí o mú ìyìn ayọ̀ wá sí Sioni, lọ sí orí òkè gíga. Ìwọ tí ó mú ìyìn ayọ̀ wá sí Jerusalẹmu, gbé ohùn rẹ sókè pẹ̀lú ariwo, gbé e sókè, má ṣe bẹ̀rù; sọ fún àwọn ìlú u Juda, “Ọlọ́run rẹ nìyìí!”
You who evangelize Zion, climb a high mountain! You who evangelize Jerusalem, lift up your voice with strength! Lift it up! Do not be afraid! Say to the cities of Judah: “Behold, your God!”
10 Wò ó, Olúwa Olódùmarè náà ń bọ̀ wá pẹ̀lú agbára, apá rẹ̀ sì ń jẹ ọba fún un. Wò ó, èrè rẹ̀ sì wà pẹ̀lú rẹ̀, àti ìdápadà rẹ̀ tí ń bá a bọ̀ wá.
Behold, the Lord God will arrive in strength, and his arm will rule. Behold, his reward is with him, and his work is before him.
11 Ó ń tọ́ àwọn agbo rẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ bí olùṣọ́-àgùntàn: Ó kó àwọn ọ̀dọ́-àgùntàn ní apá rẹ̀. Ó sì gbé wọn súnmọ́ oókan àyà rẹ̀; ó sì fi pẹ̀lẹ́pẹ̀lẹ́ darí àwọn tí ó ní.
He will pasture his flock like a shepherd. He will gather together the lambs with his arm, and he will lift them up to his bosom, and he himself will carry the very young.
12 Ta ni ó tiwọn omi nínú kòtò ọwọ́ rẹ̀, tàbí pẹ̀lú ìbú ọwọ́ rẹ̀ tí ó wọn àwọn ọ̀run? Ta ni ó ti kó erùpẹ̀ ilẹ̀ ayé jọ nínú apẹ̀rẹ̀, tàbí kí ó wọn àwọn òkè ńlá lórí ìwọ̀n àti òkè kéékèèké nínú òsùwọ̀n?
Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and who has weighed the heavens with his palm? Who has suspended the mass of the earth with three fingers, and who has weighed the mountains on a balance and the hills on a scale?
13 Ta ni ó ti mọ ọkàn Olúwa, tàbí tí ó ti tọ́ ọ ṣọ́nà gẹ́gẹ́ bí olùdámọ̀ràn rẹ̀?
Who has assisted the Spirit of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor and has revealed things to him?
14 Ta ni Olúwa ké sí kí ó là á lọ́yẹ àti ta ni ó kọ́ òun ní ọ̀nà tí ó tọ́? Ta ni ẹni náà tí ó kọ́ ọ ní ọgbọ́n tàbí tí ó fi ipa ọ̀nà òye hàn án?
With whom has he consulted? And who has instructed him, and taught him the path of justice, and guided him to knowledge, and revealed the way of understanding to him?
15 Nítòótọ́ àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè dàbí i ẹ̀kún omi nínú garawa; a kà wọ́n sí gẹ́gẹ́ bí eruku lórí ìwọ̀n; ó wọn àwọn erékùṣù àfi bí eruku múnúmúnú ni wọ́n.
Behold, the nations are like a drop of water in a bucket, and they are considered as the smallest grain on a balance. Behold, the islands are like a little dust.
16 Lebanoni kò tó fún pẹpẹ iná, tàbí kí àwọn ẹranko rẹ̀ kí ó tó fún ẹbọ sísun.
And Lebanon will not be sufficient to start a fire, and its animals will not be sufficient for a burnt offering.
17 Níwájú rẹ̀ ni gbogbo orílẹ̀-èdè dàbí ohun tí kò sí; gbogbo wọn ló kà sí ohun tí kò wúlò tí kò tó ohun tí kò sí.
All the nations in his sight are as if they did not exist, and they are considered by him as if they were nothingness and emptiness.
18 Ta ni nígbà náà tí ìwọ yóò fi Ọlọ́run wé? Ère wo ni ìwọ yóò fi ṣe àkàwé rẹ̀?
Therefore, to whom would you liken God? Or with what image would you replace him?
19 Ní ti ère, oníṣọ̀nà ni ó dà á, ti alágbẹ̀dẹ wúrà sì fi wúrà bò ó tí a sì ṣe ẹ̀wọ̀n ọ̀nà sílífà fún un.
Should the workman cast a statue? Or has the goldsmith formed it with gold, or the silversmith with plates of silver?
20 Ọkùnrin kan tí ó tálákà jù kí ó lè mú irú ọrẹ bẹ́ẹ̀ wá, wá igi tí kò le è rà. Ó wá oníṣọ̀nà tí ó láti ṣe àgbékalẹ̀ ère tí kì yóò le è ṣubú.
He has chosen strong wood that will not decay. The skillful artisan seeks a way to set up an idol that cannot be moved.
21 Ǹjẹ́ o kò tí ì mọ̀ ìwọ kò tí ì gbọ́? A kò tí ì sọ fún ọ láti ìbẹ̀rẹ̀ wá? Ìwọ kò tí ì mọ láti ìgbà ìpìlẹ̀ ayé?
Do you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been announced to you from the beginning? Have you not understood the foundations of the earth?
22 Òun jókòó lórí ìtẹ́ ní òkè òbírí ilẹ̀ ayé, àwọn ènìyàn rẹ̀ sì dàbí i láńtata. Ó ta àwọn ọ̀run bí ìbòrí ìgúnwà, ó sì nà wọ́n jáde gẹ́gẹ́ bí àgọ́ láti gbé.
He is the One who sits upon the globe of the earth, and its inhabitants are like locusts. He extends the heavens as if they were nothing, and he spreads them out like a tent, in which to dwell.
23 Ó sọ àwọn ọmọ ọba di asán àti àwọn aláṣẹ ayé yìí ni ó ti sọ dòfo.
He has brought those who examine what is secret to nothingness. He has brought the judges of the earth to emptiness.
24 Gẹ́rẹ́ tí a ti gbìn wọ́n, kété tí a gbìn wọ́n, kété tí wọ́n fi gbòǹgbò múlẹ̀, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ó fẹ́ atẹ́gùn lù wọ́n gbogbo wọn sì gbẹ, bẹ́ ni ìjì líle sì gbá wọn lọ gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìyàngbò.
And certainly, their stalk was neither planted, nor sown, nor rooted in the ground. He has suddenly blown across them, and they have withered, and a whirlwind will carry them away like chaff.
25 “Ta ni ẹ ó fi mi wé? Tàbí ta ni ó bá mi dọ́gba?” ni Ẹni Mímọ́ wí.
“And to whom would you compare me or equate me?” says the Holy One.
26 Gbé ojú rẹ sókè kí o sì wo àwọn ọ̀run. Ta ni ó dá àwọn wọ̀nyí? Ẹni tí ó mú àkójọpọ̀ àwọn ìràwọ̀ jáde wá ní ọ̀kọ̀ọ̀kan tí ó sì pè wọ́n ní orúkọ lọ́kọ̀ọ̀kan. Nítorí agbára ńlá àti ipá rẹ̀, ọ̀kan ṣoṣo nínú wọn kò sọnù.
Lift up your eyes on high, and see who has created these things. He leads forth their army by number, and he calls them all by name. Because of the fullness of his strength and robustness and virtue, not one of them was left behind.
27 Èéṣe tí o fi sọ, ìwọ Jakọbu? Àti tí o ṣàròyé, ìwọ Israẹli, “Ọ̀nà mi pamọ́ níwájú Olúwa; ìṣe mi ni a kò kọbi ara sí láti ọwọ́ Ọlọ́run mi”?
Why do you say this, O Jacob, and why do you speak this way, O Israel? “My way has been hidden from the Lord, and my judgment escaped notice by my God.”
28 Ìwọ kò tí ì mọ̀? Ìwọ kò tí ì gbọ́? Olúwa òun ni Ọlọ́run ayérayé, Ẹlẹ́dàá gbogbo ìpẹ̀kun ilẹ̀ ayé. Agara kì yóò da bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kò ní ṣàárẹ̀, àti òye rẹ̀ ni ẹnikẹ́ni kò le ṣe òdínwọ̀n rẹ̀.
Do you not know, or have you not heard? The Lord is the eternal God, who has created the limits of the earth. He does not diminish, and he does not struggle. Neither is his wisdom searchable.
29 Ó ń fi agbára fún àwọn aláàárẹ̀ ó sì fi kún agbára àwọn tí agara dá.
It is he who gives strength to the weary, and it is he who increases fortitude and strength in those who are failing.
30 Àní, ó ń rẹ̀ wọ́n àwọn ọ̀dọ́, wọ́n ń rẹ̀wẹ̀sì, àwọn ọ̀dọ́mọkùnrin sì ń kọsẹ̀ wọ́n ṣubú;
Servants will struggle and fail, and young men will fall into infirmity.
31 ṣùgbọ́n àwọn tí ó gbẹ́kẹ̀lé Olúwa yóò sọ agbára wọn di ọ̀tun. Wọn yóò fìyẹ́ fò lókè bí idì; wọn yóò sáré àárẹ̀ kò ní mú wọn, wọn yóò rìn òòyì kò ní kọ́ wọn.
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will take up wings like eagles. They will run and not struggle. They will walk and not tire.
