< Isaiah 32 >
1 Wò ó, ọba kan yóò jẹ nínú òdodo àwọn olórí yóò máa fi ìdájọ́ ṣe àkóso.
Listen to this! Some day there will be a righteous king, and his officials will help him to rule justly/fairly.
2 Ẹnìkọ̀ọ̀kan yóò jẹ́ bí ibi ìṣápamọ́ kúrò lọ́wọ́ afẹ́fẹ́ àti ààbò kúrò lọ́wọ́ ìjì, gẹ́gẹ́ bí odò omi ní ilẹ̀ aṣálẹ̀, àti bí òjìji àpáta ńlá ní ilẹ̀ gbígbẹ.
Each [of them] will be like [MET] a shelter from the wind and a (refuge/place to be protected) from the storm. They will be like [SIM] streams of water in the desert, like the shade under a huge rock in a very hot and dry land.
3 Nígbà náà ni ojú àwọn tí ó rí kò ní padé mọ́, àti etí àwọn tí ó gbọ́ yóò tẹ́tí sílẹ̀.
When that happens, [those leaders will enable] people who have not understood [MET] [God’s truth] to understand it, and [they will enable] those who have not paid attention to [MET] [God’s truth] to pay attention to it.
4 Ọkàn àwọn oníwàdùwàdù ni yóò là tí yóò sì yè, àti ahọ́n tí ń kólòlò ni yóò là geerege.
[Even] those who act very hastily will have good sense, and those who cannot speak well will speak fluently and clearly.
5 A kò ní pe òmùgọ̀ ní ọlọ́lá mọ́ tàbí kí a fi ọ̀wọ̀ tí ó ga jù fún aláìlóòótọ́ ènìyàn.
[At that time], people who are foolish/unwise will no longer be (admired/looked up to), and scoundrels will no longer be respected.
6 Nítorí òmùgọ̀ sọ̀rọ̀ òmùgọ̀, ọkàn rẹ̀ kún fún ìwà ibi: òun hùwà àìwà-bí-Ọlọ́run ó sì ń tan àṣìṣe tí ó kan Olúwa kalẹ̀; ẹni ebi ń pa ló fi sílẹ̀ lófo àti fún àwọn tí òǹgbẹ ń gbẹ ni ó mú omi kúrò.
Foolish people say things that are foolish, and they plan to do evil things. Their behavior is disgraceful, and they say things about Yahweh that are false. They do not give food to those who are hungry, and they do not give water to those who are thirsty.
7 Ibi ni gbogbo ọgbọ́n àwọn ìkà ènìyàn jẹ́, ó ń gba èrò búburú láti fi ọ̀rọ̀ èké pa tálákà run, bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé ẹ̀bẹ̀ aláìní sì tọ̀nà.
Scoundrels do things that are evil and that deceive people; they plan to do evil things; by telling lies [in court] they cause poor people to (have trouble/be convicted), even when what the poor [people] are requesting is fair/just.
8 Ṣùgbọ́n ọlọ́lá ènìyàn a máa pète ohun ńlá àti nípa èrò rere ni yóò dúró.
But honorable people plan to do honorable/good things, and they do the honorable/good things that they plan to do.
9 Ẹ̀yin obìnrin tí ẹ ti gba ìtẹ́lọ́rùn gidi ẹ dìde kí ẹ tẹ́tí sí mi, ẹ̀yin ọ̀dọ́mọbìnrin tí ọkàn yín ti balẹ̀, ẹ gbọ́ ohun tí mo fẹ́ sọ!
You women [of Jerusalem] who think that you are very secure/safe and think that everything is going well, listen to [IDM] what I say!
10 Ní ó lé díẹ̀ ní ọdún kan ẹ̀yin tí ọkàn an yín balẹ̀ yóò wárìrì; ìkórè àjàrà kò ní múnádóko, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ìkórè èso kò ní sí.
One year from now, you who now (are not worried about anything/think that everything is going well) will tremble, because there will be no grapes for you to harvest and no [other] crops to harvest.
11 Wárìrì, ẹ̀yin obìnrin onítẹ̀lọ́rùn; bẹ̀rù, ẹ̀yin ọ̀dọ́mọbìnrin tí ẹ rò pé ọkàn yín balẹ̀! Ẹ bọ́ aṣọ yín kúrò, ẹ ró aṣọ ọ̀fọ̀ mọ́ ẹ̀gbẹ́ yín.
[So] tremble [now], you women who are not worried about anything! Take off your [fancy] clothes and put rough sackcloth around your waists.
12 Ẹ lu ọmú yín fún pápá ìgbádùn náà, fún àwọn àjàrà eléso
Beat/Hit your breasts to show that you are grieving about [what will happen in] your fertile fields and to your fruitful grapevines,
13 àti fún ilẹ̀ àwọn ènìyàn mi, ilẹ̀ tí ó ti kún fún ẹ̀gún àti ẹ̀wọ̀n, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni, kẹ́dùn fún gbogbo ilé ìtura àti fún ìlú àríyá yìí.
because [only] thorns and thistles will grow in your soil. Your houses where you had joyful parties and your city where you have been happy will be gone.
14 Ilé olódi ni a ó kọ̀sílẹ̀, ìlù aláriwo ni a ó kọ̀ tì; ilé olódi àti ilé ìṣọ́ ni yóò di ihò títí láéláé, ìdùnnú àwọn kẹ́tẹ́kẹ́tẹ́ àti pápá oko fún àwọn ẹran ọ̀sìn,
The [king’s] palace will be empty; there will be no people in the city that [now] is very noisy. Wild donkeys will walk around and flocks of sheep will eat grass in the empty forts and watchtowers.
15 títí a ó fi tú Ẹ̀mí sí wa lórí láti òkè wá, àti ti aṣálẹ̀ tí yóò dí pápá oko ọlọ́ràá àti tí pápá ọlọ́ràá yóò dàbí ẹgàn.
[It will be like that] until God pours his Spirit out on us from heaven. [When that happens], the deserts will become fertile fields, and abundant crops will grow in those fertile fields.
16 Ẹ̀tọ́ yóò máa gbé ní inú aṣálẹ̀ àti òdodo yóò sì máa gbé ní pápá oko ọlọ́ràá.
People [PRS] will act/rule justly/fairly in those desert areas, and people will act/rule righteously in those fertile fields.
17 Èso òdodo náà yóò sì jẹ́ àlàáfíà; àbájáde òdodo yóò sì jẹ́ ìdákẹ́ jẹ́ẹ́ àti ìgbẹ́kẹ̀lé títí láé.
And the result of their acting righteously will be that there will be peace, the land will be tranquil/quiet, and people will be secure/safe forever.
18 Àwọn ènìyàn mi yóò máa gbé ní ibùgbé àlàáfíà, ní ibùgbé ìdánilójú, ní àwọn ibi ìsinmi tí ó parọ́rọ́.
My people will live in their homes peacefully, and safely, and calmly, in places of rest.
19 Bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé yìnyín ti tẹ́jú igbó pẹrẹsẹ àti tí ojú ìlú ti tẹ́ pẹrẹsẹ pátápátá,
[Even if a severe] hailstorm knocks down [the trees in] the forest, and [all the buildings in] the city are blown down,
20 báwo ni ẹ ó ti jẹ́ alábùkún tó, nípa gbígbin irúgbìn sí ipa odò gbogbo, àti nípa jíjẹ́ kí àwọn màlúù yín àti àwọn kẹ́tẹ́kẹ́tẹ́ jẹ láìsí ìdíwọ́.
Yahweh [will greatly] bless you; you will plant [seeds in fields] alongside the streams [and there will be abundant crops]. Your donkeys and cattle will easily find grass to eat.
