< Isaiah 3 >

1 Kíyèsi i, Olúwa, Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun, fẹ́ mú ìpèsè àti ìrànlọ́wọ́ kúrò ní Jerusalẹmu àti Juda gbogbo ìpèsè oúnjẹ àti ìpèsè omi.
For behold, the sovereign Lord of hosts will take away, from Jerusalem and from Judah, the powerful and the strong: all the strength from bread, and all the strength from water;
2 Àwọn akíkanjú àti jagunjagun, adájọ́ àti wòlíì, aláfọ̀ṣẹ àti alàgbà,
the strong man, and the man of war, the judge and the prophet, and the seer and the elder;
3 balógun àádọ́ta àti àwọn ènìyàn, onípò gíga; olùdámọ̀ràn, oníṣọ̀nà tí ó dáńtọ́ àti ògbójú oníṣègùn.
the leader over fifty and the honorable in appearance; and the counselor, and the wise among builders, and the skillful in mystical speech.
4 “Èmi ó sọ àwọn ọ̀dọ́mọkùnrin di aláṣẹ wọn, ọ̀dọ́mọdé lásán làsàn ni yóò sì máa jẹ ọba lórí i wọn.”
And I will provide children as their leaders, and the effeminate will rule over them.
5 Àwọn ènìyàn yóò sì máa pọ́n ọmọnìkejì, wọn lójú ẹnìkan sí ẹnìkejì rẹ̀, aládùúgbò sí aládùúgbò rẹ̀. Àwọn ọ̀dọ́ yóò gbógun ti àwọn àgbàgbà, àwọn mẹ̀kúnnù yóò dìde sí ọlọ́lá.
And the people will rush, man against man, and each one against his neighbor. The child shall rebel against the elder, and the ignoble against the noble.
6 Ọkùnrin kan yóò di ọ̀kan nínú àwọn arákùnrin rẹ̀ mú, nínú ilé baba rẹ̀, yóò sì wí pé, “Ìwọ́ ní aṣọ, ìwọ máa ṣe olórí wa, sì mójútó àwọn ahoro wọ̀nyí!”
For a man will apprehend his brother, from the household of his own father, saying: “The vestment is yours. Be our leader, but let this ruin be under your hand.”
7 Ṣùgbọ́n ní ọjọ́ náà ni yóò figbe bọnu pé, “Èmi kò ní àtúnṣe kan. Èmi kò ní oúnjẹ, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni n ó ní aṣọ nílé, ẹ má fi mí ṣe olórí àwọn ènìyàn náà.”
In that day, he will respond by saying: “I am not a healer, and there is no bread or vestment in my house. Do not choose to appoint me as a leader of the people.”
8 Jerusalẹmu ń ta gbọ̀nọ́ngbọ̀nọ́n Juda ń ṣubú lọ, ọ̀rọ̀ àti ìṣe wọn lòdì sí Olúwa, láti mú ojú ògo rẹ̀ bínú.
For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah has fallen, because their words and their plans are against the Lord, in order to provoke the eyes of his majesty.
9 Ìwò ojú wọn ń jẹ́rìí lòdì sí wọn, wọ́n ń polongo ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ wọn bí i Sodomu; wọn ò fi pamọ́! Ègbé ni fún wọn! Wọ́n ti mú ìparun wá sórí ara wọn.
The acknowledgement of their countenance is their response. For they have proclaimed their own sin, like Sodom; and they have not concealed it. Woe to their souls! For evils are being repaid to them.
10 Ẹ sọ fún olódodo pé yóò dára fún wọn, nítorí ní àjẹgbádùn ni wọn yóò jẹ èso iṣẹ́ ẹ wọn.
Tell the just man that it is well, for he shall eat from the fruit from his own plans.
11 Ègbé ni fún ènìyàn búburú! Ìparun wà lórí i wọn, a ó sì san èrè iṣẹ́ tí ọwọ́ wọn ti ṣe fún wọn.
Woe to the impious man immersed in evil! For retribution will be given to him from his own hands.
12 Àwọn ọ̀dọ́mọdé ni o ń pọ́n àwọn ènìyàn mi lójú àwọn obìnrin ń jẹ ọba lé wọn lórí. Háà! Ènìyàn mi àwọn afinimọ̀nà yín ti ṣì yín lọ́nà, wọn sì mú yín kúrò ní ipa ọ̀nà yín.
As for my people, their oppressors have despoiled them, and women have ruled over them. My people, who call you blessed, the same are deceiving you and disrupting the path of your steps.
13 Olúwa bọ sí ipò rẹ̀ ní ìtẹ́ ìdájọ́ Ó dìde láti dá àwọn ènìyàn lẹ́jọ́.
The Lord stands for judgment, and he stands to judge the people.
14 Olúwa dojú ẹjọ́ kọ àwọn àgbàgbà àti àwọn olórí àwọn ènìyàn rẹ̀. “Ẹ̀yin ni ẹ ti run ọgbà àjàrà mi, ogún àwọn tálákà ń bẹ̀ nínú ilé yín.
The Lord will enter into judgment with the elders of his people, and with their leaders. For you have been devouring the vineyard, and the plunder from the poor is in your house.
15 Kín ni èrò yín láti máa run àwọn ènìyàn mi túútúú tí ẹ sì fojú àwọn tálákà ni gbolẹ̀?” ni Olúwa wí, Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun.
Why do you wear down my people, and grind up the faces of the poor, says the Lord, the God of hosts?
16 Olúwa wí pé, “Àwọn obìnrin Sioni jẹ́ agbéraga, wọn ń rìn lọ pẹ̀lú ọrùn tí ó nà tàntàn, tí wọn ń fojú pe ọkùnrin, tí wọn ń sọ̀dí bí wọ́n ti ń yan lọ pẹ̀lú ohun ọ̀ṣọ́ tí ń mì wọnjanwọnjan lọ́rùn ẹsẹ̀ wọn.
And the Lord said: Because the daughters of Zion have been lifted up, and have walked with extended necks and winking eyes, because they have continued on, walking noisily and advancing with a pretentious stride,
17 Nítorí náà Olúwa yóò mú egbò wá sórí àwọn obìnrin Sioni, Olúwa yóò sì pá wọn ní agbárí.”
the Lord will make the heads of the daughters of Zion bald, and the Lord will strip them of the locks of their hair.
18 Ní ọjọ́ náà, Olúwa yóò já ọ̀ṣọ́ wọn gbà kúrò ti ọwọ́ àti gèlè àti ẹ̀gbà ọrùn tí ó dàbí òṣùpá
In that day, the Lord will take away their decorative shoes,
19 gbogbo yẹtí, ẹ̀gbà ọwọ́ àti ìbòjú,
and the little moons and chains, and the necklaces and bracelets, and the hats,
20 gbogbo gèlè, ẹ̀gbà ọrùn, ẹsẹ̀ àti àyà, àwọn ìgò tùràrí àti òògùn,
and the ornaments for their hair, and the anklets, and the touches of myrrh and little bottles of perfumes, and the earrings,
21 òrùka ọwọ́ àti ti imú,
and the rings, and the jewels hanging on their foreheads,
22 àwọn àtàtà aṣọ, àwọ̀lékè, agbádá àti àpamọ́wọ́,
and the continual changes in appearance, and the short skirts, and the fine linens and embroidered cloths,
23 dígí wọn, aṣọ funfun nigínnigín ìbòrí àti ìbòjú.
and the mirrors, and scarves, and ribbons, and their sparse clothing.
24 Dípò òórùn dídùn, òórùn búburú ni yóò wá, okùn ni yóò wà dípò àmùrè, orí pípá ni yóò dípò irun ti a ṣe ní ọ̀ṣọ́ aṣọ ọ̀fọ̀ ni yóò dípò aṣọ ẹ̀yẹ ìjóná dípò ẹwà.
And in place of a sweet fragrance, there will be stench. And in place of a belt, there will be a rope. And in place of stylish hair, there will be baldness. And in place of a blouse, there will be haircloth.
25 Àwọn ọkùnrin rẹ yóò ti ipa idà ṣubú, àti àwọn jagunjagun rẹ̀ lójú ogun.
Likewise, your most handsome men will fall by the sword, and your strong men will fall in battle.
26 Àwọn bodè Sioni yóò sọkún kíkorò, wọn ó ṣọ̀fọ̀, nítorí ó dahoro, yóò jókòó ní orí ilẹ̀.
And her gates will grieve and mourn. And she will sit on the ground, desolate.
