< Isaiah 28 >
1 Ègbé ni fún adé ìgbéraga, fún àwọn ọ̀mùtí Efraimu, àti fún ìtànná rírọ, ẹwà ògo rẹ̀, tí ó tò sí orí àfonífojì ẹlẹ́tù lójú àti sí ìlú náà ìgbéraga àwọn tí ọtí wáìnì ń pa tí a rẹ̀ sílẹ̀.
Woe to the crowne of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim: for his glorious beautie shall be a fading flowre, which is vpon the head of the valley of them that be fat, and are ouercome with wine.
2 Kíyèsi i, Olúwa ní ẹnìkan tí ó le, tí ó sì lágbára, gẹ́gẹ́ bí ọ̀wọ́ yìnyín àti bí ìjì apanirun, gẹ́gẹ́ bí àrọ̀dá òjò àti òjò tí ó mú ìkún omi wá, òun yóò fi tipátipá sọ ọ́ sílẹ̀.
Beholde, the Lord hath a mightie and strong hoste, like a tempest of haile, and a whirlewinde that ouerthroweth, like a tempest of mightie waters that ouerflowe, which throwe to the ground mightily.
3 Adé ìgbéraga àwọn ọ̀mùtí Efraimu, ni a ó fi ẹsẹ̀ tẹ̀ mọ́lẹ̀.
They shall be troden vnder foote, euen the crowne and the pride of the drunkards of Ephraim.
4 Òdòdó tí ó ń rọ náà tí í ṣe ẹwà ògo rẹ̀, tí ó tò sí orí àfonífojì ẹlẹ́tù lójú, yóò dàbí èso ọ̀pọ̀tọ́ tí ó pọ́n ṣáájú ìkórè bí ẹnikẹ́ni bá ti rí i tí ó sì mú un ní ọwọ́ rẹ̀, òun a sì mì ín.
For his glorious beautie shall be a fading floure, which is vpon the head of the valley of them that be fatte, and as the hastie fruite afore sommer, which when hee that looketh vpon it, seeth it, while it is in his hand, he eateth it.
5 Ní ọjọ́ náà Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun yóò jẹ́ adé tí ó lógo, àti adé tí ó lẹ́wà fún àwọn ènìyàn rẹ̀ tí ó ṣẹ́kù.
In that day shall the Lord of hostes be for a crowne of glory, and for a diademe of beautie vnto the residue of his people:
6 Òun yóò sì jẹ́ ẹ̀mí ìdájọ́ òdodo fún ẹni tí ó jókòó ní ìtẹ́ ìdájọ́ àti orísun agbára fún àwọn ẹni tí ó ń dá ogun padà ní ẹnu ibodè.
And for a spirite of iudgement to him that sitteth in iudgement, and for strength vnto them that turne away the battell to the gate.
7 Àwọn wọ̀nyí pẹ̀lú ta gbọ̀nọ́ngbọ̀nọ́n fún ọtí wáìnì wọ́n pòòrì fún ọtí líle, àwọn àlùfáà àti wòlíì ta gbọ̀nọ́ngbọ̀nọ́n fún ọtí líle wọ́n ta gíẹ́ gíẹ́ fún ọtí wáìnì wọ́n ń lọ́ bìrì bìrì fún ọtí líle, wọ́n ta gbọ̀nọ́ngbọ̀nọ́n nígbà tí wọ́n ń ríran, wọ́n kọsẹ̀ nígbà tí wọ́n ń mú ìpinnu wá.
But they haue erred because of wine, and are out of the way by strong drinke: the priest and the prophet haue erred by strong drinke: they are swallowed vp with wine: they haue gone astraye through strong drinke: they faile in vision: they stumble in iudgement.
8 Gbogbo orí tábìlì ni ó kún fún èébì kò sì ṣí ibìkan tí kò sí ẹ̀gbin.
For all their tables are full of filthy vomiting: no place is cleane.
9 “Ta ni ẹni náà tí ó ń gbìyànjú àti kọ́? Ta ni ó sì ń ṣàlàyé ìròyìn in rẹ̀ fún? Sí àwọn ọmọdé tí a já lẹ́nu ọmú wọn, sí àwọn tí a ṣẹ̀ṣẹ̀ gbà lẹ́nu ọmú.
Whome shall he teache knowledge? and whome shall he make to vnderstand the thinges that hee heareth? them that are weyned from the milke, and drawen from the breastes.
10 Nítorí tí í ṣe: báyìí ni orí, ṣe, kí o si túnṣe, ṣe kí o si túnṣe, àṣẹ n gorí àṣẹ, àṣẹ n gorí àṣẹ; díẹ̀ níhìn-ín, díẹ̀ lọ́hùn.”
For precept must be vpon precept, precept vpon precept, line vnto line, line vnto line, there a litle, and there a litle.
11 Ó dára báyìí, pẹ̀lú ètè àjèjì àti ahọ́n àìmọ̀ Ọlọ́run yóò bá àwọn ènìyàn yìí sọ̀rọ̀
For with a stammering tongue and with a strange language shall he speake vnto this people.
12 àwọn tí ó sọ fún wí pé, “Èyí ni ibi ìsinmi, jẹ́ kí àwọn aláàárẹ̀ sinmi”; àti pé, “Èyí ni ibi ìsinmi”; ṣùgbọ́n wọn kò tẹ́tí sílẹ̀.
Vnto whome hee saide, This is the rest: giue rest to him that is weary: and this is the refreshing, but they would not heare.
13 Fún ìdí èyí, ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa sí wọn yóò di pé, ṣe èyí, ṣe ìyẹn, àṣẹ n gorí àṣẹ, àṣẹ n gorí àṣẹ; díẹ̀ níhìn-ín, díẹ̀ lọ́hùn, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni wọn yóò lọ tí wọn yóò tún ṣubú sẹ́yìn, wọn yóò fi ara pa, wọn yóò bọ́ sínú okùn a ó sì gbá wọn mú.
Therefore shall the worde of the Lord be vnto them precept vpon precept, precept vpon precept, line vnto line, line vnto line, there a litle and there a litle, that they may goe, and fall backward, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.
14 Nítorí náà, ẹ gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa, ẹ̀yin ẹlẹ́gàn, tí ń jẹ ọba lórí àwọn ènìyàn wọ̀nyí ní Jerusalẹmu.
Wherefore, heare the worde of the Lord, ye scornefull men that rule this people, which is at Ierusalem.
15 Ẹ fọ́n pé, “Àwa ti bá ikú mulẹ̀, pẹ̀lú ibojì ni àwa ti jọ ṣe àdéhùn. Nígbà tí ìbáwí gbígbóná fẹ́ kọjá, kò le kàn wá lára, nítorí a ti fi irọ́ ṣe ààbò o wa àti àìṣòótọ́ ibi ìpamọ́ wa.” (Sheol )
Because ye haue said, We haue made a couenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement: though a scourge runne ouer, and passe through, it shall not come at vs: for we haue made falshood our refuge, and vnder vanitie are we hid, (Sheol )
16 Nítorí náà, báyìí ni Olúwa Olódùmarè wí: “Kíyèsi i, èmi gbé òkúta kan lélẹ̀ ní Sioni, òkúta tí a dánwò, òkúta igun ilé iyebíye fún ìpìlẹ̀ tí ó dájú; ẹnikẹ́ni tí ó bá gbẹ́kẹ̀lé kì yóò ní ìfòyà.
Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I will laye in Zion a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation. Hee that beleeueth, shall not make haste.
17 Èmi yóò fi ìdájọ́ ṣe okùn òsùwọ̀n àti òdodo òjé òsùwọ̀n; yìnyín yóò gbá ààbò yín dànù àti irọ́, omi yóò sì kún bo gbogbo ibi tí ẹ ń fi ara pamọ́ sí mọ́lẹ̀.
Iudgement also will I laye to the rule, and righteousnesse to the balance, and the haile shall sweepe away the vaine confidence, and the waters shall ouerflowe the secret place.
18 Májẹ̀mú yín tí ẹ bá ikú dá ni a ó fa igi lé; àdéhùn yín pẹ̀lú ibojì ni kì yóò dúró. Nígbà tí ìbínú gbígbóná náà bá fẹ́ kọjá, a ó ti ipa rẹ̀ lù yín bolẹ̀. (Sheol )
And your couenant with death shalbe disanulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand: when a scourge shall runne ouer and passe through, then shall ye be trode downe by it. (Sheol )
19 Nígbàkígbà tí ó bá ti wá ni yóò máa gbé ọ lọ, ni àràárọ̀, ní ọ̀sán àti ní òru, ni yóò máa fẹ́ kọjá lọ.” Ìmòye ọ̀rọ̀-ìmọ̀ yìí yóò máa mú ìpayà ńlá wá.
When it passeth ouer, it shall take you away: for it shall passe through euery morning in the day, and in the night, and there shalbe onely feare to make you to vnderstand the hearing.
20 Ibùsùn kúrú púpọ̀ fún ìnara lé lórí, ìbora kò fẹ̀ tó láti yí ara yín ká.
For the bed is streight that it can not suffice, and the couering narowe that one can not wrappe himselfe.
21 Olúwa yóò dìde sókè gẹ́gẹ́ bí ó ti ṣe ní òkè Perasimu yóò ru ara rẹ̀ sókè gẹ́gẹ́ bí ó ti ṣe ní àfonífojì Gibeoni— láti ṣe iṣẹ́ rẹ̀, abàmì iṣẹ́ ẹ rẹ̀, yóò ṣe iṣẹ́ rẹ̀, àní àjèjì iṣẹ́ rẹ̀.
For the Lord shall stand as in mount Perazim: hee shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his worke, his strage worke, and bring to passe his acte, his strange acte.
22 Ní ìsinsin yìí ẹ dákẹ́ ẹlẹ́yà ṣíṣe, bí bẹ́ẹ̀ kọ́ ìdè e yín yóò le sí i; Olúwa, àní Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun ti sọ fún mi nípa àṣẹ ìparun ti ó ti pa lórí gbogbo ilẹ̀ náà.
Nowe therefore be no mockers, least your bondes increase: for I haue heard of the Lord of hostes a consumption, euen determined vpon the whole earth.
23 Tẹ́tí kí o sì gbọ́ ohùn mi, fi ara balẹ̀ kí o sì gbọ́ ohun tí mo sọ.
Hearken ye, and heare my voyce: hearken ye, and heare my speach.
24 Nígbà tí àgbẹ̀ kan bá tu ilẹ̀ láti gbìn yóò ha máa tulẹ̀ títí bi? Ǹjẹ́ yóò ha máa tu ilẹ̀ kí ó sì máa jọ̀ ọ́ títí lọ bí?
Doeth the plowe man plowe all the day, to sowe? doeth he open, and breake the clots of his ground?
25 Nígbà tí òun bá ti tẹ́ ojú ilẹ̀ rẹ̀ pẹrẹsẹ òun kò ha ń fúnrúgbìn dílì kí ó sì fúnrúgbìn kummini ká? Kí ó sì gbin alikama lẹ́sẹẹsẹ, barle tí a yàn, àti spelti ní ipò rẹ̀?
When he hath made it plaine, wil he not then sowe the fitches, and sowe cummin, and cast in wheat by measure, and the appointed barly and rye in their place?
26 Ọlọ́run rẹ̀ tọ́ ọ ṣọ́nà ó sì kọ́ ọ lẹ́kọ̀ọ́ ní ọ̀nà tó tọ́.
For his God doeth instruct him to haue discretion, and doeth teach him.
27 Nítorí a kò fi ohun èlò ìpakà dili, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni a kì í yí kẹ̀kẹ́ ẹrù kiri lórí kummini; ṣùgbọ́n ọ̀pá ni a fi ń pa dili jáde, ọ̀gọ ni a sì lu kummini.
For fitches shall not be threshed with a threshing instrument, neither shall a cart wheele be turned about vpon the cummin: but ye fitches are beaten out with a staffe, and cummin with a rod.
28 A gbọdọ̀ lọ ìyẹ̀fun kí a tó ṣe àkàrà; bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ẹnìkan kì í máa pa á lọ títí láé. Bí ó tilẹ̀ yí ẹsẹ̀ kẹ̀kẹ́ ìpakà a rẹ̀ lórí i rẹ̀, àwọn ẹṣin rẹ̀ kò le lọ̀ ọ́.
Bread corne when it is threshed, hee doeth not alway thresh it, neither doeth the wheele of his cart still make a noyse, neither will he breake it with the teeth thereof.
29 Gbogbo èyí pẹ̀lú ti ọ̀dọ̀ Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun wá, oníyanu ní ìmọ̀ràn àti ológo ní ọgbọ́n.
This also commeth from the Lord of hostes, which is wonderfull in counsell, and excellent in workes.
