< Isaiah 28 >
1 Ègbé ni fún adé ìgbéraga, fún àwọn ọ̀mùtí Efraimu, àti fún ìtànná rírọ, ẹwà ògo rẹ̀, tí ó tò sí orí àfonífojì ẹlẹ́tù lójú àti sí ìlú náà ìgbéraga àwọn tí ọtí wáìnì ń pa tí a rẹ̀ sílẹ̀.
Woe to the crown of arrogance, to the inebriated of Ephraim, and to the falling flower, the glory of his exultation, to those who were at the top of the very fat valley, staggering from wine.
2 Kíyèsi i, Olúwa ní ẹnìkan tí ó le, tí ó sì lágbára, gẹ́gẹ́ bí ọ̀wọ́ yìnyín àti bí ìjì apanirun, gẹ́gẹ́ bí àrọ̀dá òjò àti òjò tí ó mú ìkún omi wá, òun yóò fi tipátipá sọ ọ́ sílẹ̀.
Behold, the Lord is powerful and steadfast, like a storm of hail, like a crushing whirlwind, like the force of many waters, inundating, sent forth over a spacious land.
3 Adé ìgbéraga àwọn ọ̀mùtí Efraimu, ni a ó fi ẹsẹ̀ tẹ̀ mọ́lẹ̀.
The arrogant crown of the inebriated of Ephraim will be trampled underfoot.
4 Òdòdó tí ó ń rọ náà tí í ṣe ẹwà ògo rẹ̀, tí ó tò sí orí àfonífojì ẹlẹ́tù lójú, yóò dàbí èso ọ̀pọ̀tọ́ tí ó pọ́n ṣáájú ìkórè bí ẹnikẹ́ni bá ti rí i tí ó sì mú un ní ọwọ́ rẹ̀, òun a sì mì ín.
And the falling flower, the glory of his exultation, who is at the summit of the fat valley, will be like a premature fruit before the ripeness of autumn, which, when the onlooker beholds it, as soon he takes it in his hand, he will devour it.
5 Ní ọjọ́ náà Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun yóò jẹ́ adé tí ó lógo, àti adé tí ó lẹ́wà fún àwọn ènìyàn rẹ̀ tí ó ṣẹ́kù.
In that day, the Lord of hosts will be the crown of glory and the wreath of exultation for the remnant of his people.
6 Òun yóò sì jẹ́ ẹ̀mí ìdájọ́ òdodo fún ẹni tí ó jókòó ní ìtẹ́ ìdájọ́ àti orísun agbára fún àwọn ẹni tí ó ń dá ogun padà ní ẹnu ibodè.
And he will be the spirit of judgment for those who sit in judgment, and the strength of those who return from war to the gates.
7 Àwọn wọ̀nyí pẹ̀lú ta gbọ̀nọ́ngbọ̀nọ́n fún ọtí wáìnì wọ́n pòòrì fún ọtí líle, àwọn àlùfáà àti wòlíì ta gbọ̀nọ́ngbọ̀nọ́n fún ọtí líle wọ́n ta gíẹ́ gíẹ́ fún ọtí wáìnì wọ́n ń lọ́ bìrì bìrì fún ọtí líle, wọ́n ta gbọ̀nọ́ngbọ̀nọ́n nígbà tí wọ́n ń ríran, wọ́n kọsẹ̀ nígbà tí wọ́n ń mú ìpinnu wá.
Yet truly, these also have been ignorant due to wine, and they have gone astray due to inebriation. The priest and the prophet have been ignorant because of inebriation. They have been absorbed by wine. They have staggered in drunkenness. They have not known the One who sees. They have been ignorant of judgment.
8 Gbogbo orí tábìlì ni ó kún fún èébì kò sì ṣí ibìkan tí kò sí ẹ̀gbin.
For all the tables have been filled with vomit and filth, so much so that there was no place left.
9 “Ta ni ẹni náà tí ó ń gbìyànjú àti kọ́? Ta ni ó sì ń ṣàlàyé ìròyìn in rẹ̀ fún? Sí àwọn ọmọdé tí a já lẹ́nu ọmú wọn, sí àwọn tí a ṣẹ̀ṣẹ̀ gbà lẹ́nu ọmú.
To whom will he teach knowledge? And to whom will he grant an understanding of what is heard? To those who have been weaned from the milk, who have been pulled away from the breasts.
10 Nítorí tí í ṣe: báyìí ni orí, ṣe, kí o si túnṣe, ṣe kí o si túnṣe, àṣẹ n gorí àṣẹ, àṣẹ n gorí àṣẹ; díẹ̀ níhìn-ín, díẹ̀ lọ́hùn.”
So then: command, and command again; command, and command again; expect, and expect again; a little here, and a little there.
11 Ó dára báyìí, pẹ̀lú ètè àjèjì àti ahọ́n àìmọ̀ Ọlọ́run yóò bá àwọn ènìyàn yìí sọ̀rọ̀
For with the speech of lips and with a different language, he will speak to this people.
12 àwọn tí ó sọ fún wí pé, “Èyí ni ibi ìsinmi, jẹ́ kí àwọn aláàárẹ̀ sinmi”; àti pé, “Èyí ni ibi ìsinmi”; ṣùgbọ́n wọn kò tẹ́tí sílẹ̀.
He said to them: “This is my rest. Refresh the weary,” and, “This is my refreshment.” And yet they were unwilling to listen.
13 Fún ìdí èyí, ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa sí wọn yóò di pé, ṣe èyí, ṣe ìyẹn, àṣẹ n gorí àṣẹ, àṣẹ n gorí àṣẹ; díẹ̀ níhìn-ín, díẹ̀ lọ́hùn, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni wọn yóò lọ tí wọn yóò tún ṣubú sẹ́yìn, wọn yóò fi ara pa, wọn yóò bọ́ sínú okùn a ó sì gbá wọn mú.
And so, the word of the Lord to them will be: “Command, and command again; command, and command again; expect, and expect again; a little here, and a little there,” so that they may go forward and fall backward, and so that they may be broken and ensnared and captured.
14 Nítorí náà, ẹ gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa, ẹ̀yin ẹlẹ́gàn, tí ń jẹ ọba lórí àwọn ènìyàn wọ̀nyí ní Jerusalẹmu.
Because of this, listen to the word of the Lord, you mocking men, who lord it over my people who are at Jerusalem.
15 Ẹ fọ́n pé, “Àwa ti bá ikú mulẹ̀, pẹ̀lú ibojì ni àwa ti jọ ṣe àdéhùn. Nígbà tí ìbáwí gbígbóná fẹ́ kọjá, kò le kàn wá lára, nítorí a ti fi irọ́ ṣe ààbò o wa àti àìṣòótọ́ ibi ìpamọ́ wa.” (Sheol )
For you have said: “We struck a deal with death, and we formed a pact with Hell. When the inundating scourge passes through, it will not overwhelm us. For we have placed our hope in lies, and we are protected by what is false.” (Sheol )
16 Nítorí náà, báyìí ni Olúwa Olódùmarè wí: “Kíyèsi i, èmi gbé òkúta kan lélẹ̀ ní Sioni, òkúta tí a dánwò, òkúta igun ilé iyebíye fún ìpìlẹ̀ tí ó dájú; ẹnikẹ́ni tí ó bá gbẹ́kẹ̀lé kì yóò ní ìfòyà.
For this reason, thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will set a stone within the foundations of Zion, a tested stone, a cornerstone, a precious stone, which has been established in the foundation: whoever trusts in him need not hurry.
17 Èmi yóò fi ìdájọ́ ṣe okùn òsùwọ̀n àti òdodo òjé òsùwọ̀n; yìnyín yóò gbá ààbò yín dànù àti irọ́, omi yóò sì kún bo gbogbo ibi tí ẹ ń fi ara pamọ́ sí mọ́lẹ̀.
And I will establish judgment in weights, and justice in measures. And a hailstorm will overturn hope in what is false; and waters will inundate its protection.
18 Májẹ̀mú yín tí ẹ bá ikú dá ni a ó fa igi lé; àdéhùn yín pẹ̀lú ibojì ni kì yóò dúró. Nígbà tí ìbínú gbígbóná náà bá fẹ́ kọjá, a ó ti ipa rẹ̀ lù yín bolẹ̀. (Sheol )
And your deal with death will be abolished, and your pact with Hell will not stand. When the inundating scourge passes through, you will be trampled down by it. (Sheol )
19 Nígbàkígbà tí ó bá ti wá ni yóò máa gbé ọ lọ, ni àràárọ̀, ní ọ̀sán àti ní òru, ni yóò máa fẹ́ kọjá lọ.” Ìmòye ọ̀rọ̀-ìmọ̀ yìí yóò máa mú ìpayà ńlá wá.
Whenever it passes through, it will take you away. For, at first light of morning, it will pass through, in the day and in the night, and vexation alone will make you understand what you hear.
20 Ibùsùn kúrú púpọ̀ fún ìnara lé lórí, ìbora kò fẹ̀ tó láti yí ara yín ká.
For the bed has been narrowed, so much so that one alone would fall out, and the short blanket is not able to cover two.
21 Olúwa yóò dìde sókè gẹ́gẹ́ bí ó ti ṣe ní òkè Perasimu yóò ru ara rẹ̀ sókè gẹ́gẹ́ bí ó ti ṣe ní àfonífojì Gibeoni— láti ṣe iṣẹ́ rẹ̀, abàmì iṣẹ́ ẹ rẹ̀, yóò ṣe iṣẹ́ rẹ̀, àní àjèjì iṣẹ́ rẹ̀.
For the Lord will stand, just as at the mountain of divisions. He will be angry, just as in the valley which is in Gibeon, so that he may accomplish his work, his strange work, so that he may complete his work, his work which is foreign even to him.
22 Ní ìsinsin yìí ẹ dákẹ́ ẹlẹ́yà ṣíṣe, bí bẹ́ẹ̀ kọ́ ìdè e yín yóò le sí i; Olúwa, àní Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun ti sọ fún mi nípa àṣẹ ìparun ti ó ti pa lórí gbogbo ilẹ̀ náà.
And now, do not be willing to mock, lest your chains be tightened. For I have heard, from the Lord, the God of hosts, about the consummation and the abridgement concerning the entire earth.
23 Tẹ́tí kí o sì gbọ́ ohùn mi, fi ara balẹ̀ kí o sì gbọ́ ohun tí mo sọ.
Pay close attention, and listen to my voice! Attend and hear my eloquence!
24 Nígbà tí àgbẹ̀ kan bá tu ilẹ̀ láti gbìn yóò ha máa tulẹ̀ títí bi? Ǹjẹ́ yóò ha máa tu ilẹ̀ kí ó sì máa jọ̀ ọ́ títí lọ bí?
Would the plowman, after plowing all day so that he may sow, instead cut open and hoe his soil?
25 Nígbà tí òun bá ti tẹ́ ojú ilẹ̀ rẹ̀ pẹrẹsẹ òun kò ha ń fúnrúgbìn dílì kí ó sì fúnrúgbìn kummini ká? Kí ó sì gbin alikama lẹ́sẹẹsẹ, barle tí a yàn, àti spelti ní ipò rẹ̀?
Will he not, when he has made the surface level, sow coriander, and scatter cumin, and plant wheat in rows, and barley, and millet, and vetch in their places?
26 Ọlọ́run rẹ̀ tọ́ ọ ṣọ́nà ó sì kọ́ ọ lẹ́kọ̀ọ́ ní ọ̀nà tó tọ́.
For he will be instructed in judgment; his God will teach him.
27 Nítorí a kò fi ohun èlò ìpakà dili, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni a kì í yí kẹ̀kẹ́ ẹrù kiri lórí kummini; ṣùgbọ́n ọ̀pá ni a fi ń pa dili jáde, ọ̀gọ ni a sì lu kummini.
For coriander cannot be threshed with a saw, and a cartwheel cannot revolve over cumin. Instead, coriander is shaken out with a stick, and cumin with a staff.
28 A gbọdọ̀ lọ ìyẹ̀fun kí a tó ṣe àkàrà; bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ẹnìkan kì í máa pa á lọ títí láé. Bí ó tilẹ̀ yí ẹsẹ̀ kẹ̀kẹ́ ìpakà a rẹ̀ lórí i rẹ̀, àwọn ẹṣin rẹ̀ kò le lọ̀ ọ́.
But grain for bread must be crushed. Truly, the thresher cannot thresh it unceasingly, and the cartwheel can neither disrupt it, nor break it with its surface.
29 Gbogbo èyí pẹ̀lú ti ọ̀dọ̀ Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun wá, oníyanu ní ìmọ̀ràn àti ológo ní ọgbọ́n.
And this has gone forth from the Lord, the God of hosts, so that he may accomplish his miraculous plan and magnify justice.
