< Isaiah 22 >
1 Ọ̀rọ̀-ìmọ̀ tí ó jẹ mọ́ àfonífojì ìran. Kí ni ó ń dààmú yín báyìí, tí gbogbo yín fi gun orí òrùlé lọ?
This is the burden against the Valley of Vision: What ails you now, that you have all gone up to the rooftops,
2 Ìwọ ìlú tí ó kún fún rúkèrúdò, ìwọ ìlú àìtòrò òun rògbòdìyàn a kò fi idà pa àwọn òkú rẹ, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni wọn kò kú ní ojú ogun.
O city of commotion, O town of revelry? Your slain did not die by the sword, nor were they killed in battle.
3 Gbogbo àwọn olórí i yín ti jùmọ̀ sálọ; a ti kó wọn nígbèkùn láìlo ọfà. Ẹ̀yin tí a mú ni a ti kó lẹ́rú papọ̀, lẹ́yìn tí ẹ ti sá nígbà tí ọ̀tá ṣì wà lọ́nà jíjìn réré.
All your rulers have fled together, captured without a bow. All your fugitives were captured together, having fled to a distant place.
4 Nítorí náà ni mo wí pé, “Yípadà kúrò lọ́dọ̀ mi: jẹ́ kí n sọkún kíkorò. Má ṣe gbìyànjú àti tù mí nínú nítorí ìparun àwọn ènìyàn mi.”
Therefore I said, “Turn away from me, let me weep bitterly! Do not try to console me over the destruction of the daughter of my people.”
5 Olúwa, Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun ní ọjọ́ kan tí rúkèrúdò àti rògbòdìyàn àti ẹ̀rùjẹ̀jẹ̀ ní àfonífojì ìmọ̀, ọjọ́ tí a ń wó ògiri lulẹ̀ àti sísun ẹkún lọ sí àwọn orí òkè.
For the Lord GOD of Hosts has set a day of tumult and trampling and confusion in the Valley of Vision— of breaking down the walls and crying to the mountains.
6 Elamu mú apó-ọfà lọ́wọ́, pẹ̀lú àwọn agun-kẹ̀kẹ́-ogun àti àwọn ẹṣin, Kiri yọ àpáta rẹ̀ síta.
Elam takes up a quiver, with chariots and horsemen, and Kir uncovers the shield.
7 Àyànfẹ́ àfonífojì rẹ kún fún kẹ̀kẹ́ ogun, àwọn ẹlẹ́ṣin ni a gbá jọ sí ẹnu-bodè ìlú.
Your choicest valleys are full of chariots, and horsemen are posted at the gates.
8 Gbogbo ààbò Juda ni a ti ká kúrò. Ìwọ sì gbójú sókè ní ọjọ́ náà sí àwọn ohun ìjà ní ààfin ti inú aginjù.
He has uncovered the defenses of Judah. On that day you looked to the weapons in the House of the Forest.
9 Ìwọ rí i pé ìlú u Dafidi ní ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ààyè níbi ààbò rẹ̀, ìwọ ti tọ́jú omi sínú adágún ti ìsàlẹ̀.
You saw that there were many breaches in the walls of the City of David. You collected water from the lower pool.
10 Ìwọ ka àwọn ilé tí ó wà ní Jerusalẹmu ó sì wó ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ilé lulẹ̀ láti fún ògiri lágbára.
You counted the houses of Jerusalem and tore them down to strengthen the wall.
11 Ìwọ mọ agbemi sí àárín ògiri méjì fún omi inú adágún àtijọ́, ṣùgbọ́n ìwọ kò wo ẹni tí ó ṣe é tẹ́lẹ̀ tàbí kí o kọbi ara sí ẹni tí ó gbèrò rẹ̀ ní ìgbà pípẹ́ sẹ́yìn.
You built a reservoir between the walls for the waters of the ancient pool, but you did not look to the One who made it, or consider Him who planned it long ago.
12 Olúwa, àní Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun, pè ọ́ ní ọjọ́ náà láti sọkún kí o sì pohùnréré, kí o tu irun rẹ dànù kí o sì da aṣọ ọ̀fọ̀ bora.
On that day the Lord GOD of Hosts called for weeping and wailing, for shaven heads and the wearing of sackcloth.
13 Ṣùgbọ́n wò ó, ayọ̀ àti ayẹyẹ wà; màlúù pípa àti àgùntàn pípa, ẹran jíjẹ àti ọtí wáìnì mímu! Ẹ̀yin wí pé, “Jẹ́ kí a jẹ kí a mu, nítorí pé lọ́la àwa ó kú!”
But look, there is joy and gladness, butchering of cattle and slaughtering of sheep, eating of meat and drinking of wine: “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!”
14 Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun ti sọ èyí di mí mọ̀ létí ì mi: “Títí di ọjọ́ ikú yín a kò ní ṣe ètùtù fún ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ yìí,” ni Olúwa wí, àní Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun.
The LORD of Hosts has revealed in my hearing: “Until your dying day, this sin of yours will never be atoned for,”
15 Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa, àní Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun wí, “Lọ, sọ fún ìríjú yìí pé, fún Ṣebna, ẹni tí ààfin wà ní ìkáwọ́ rẹ̀.
This is what the Lord GOD of Hosts says: “Go, say to Shebna, the steward in charge of the palace:
16 Kí ni ohun tí ò ń ṣe níhìn-ín yìí àti pé ta ni ó sì fún ọ ní àṣẹ láti gbẹ́ ibojì kan fún ara rẹ níhìn-ín yìí, tí ó gbẹ́ ibojì ní ibi gíga tí ó sì gbẹ́ ibi ìsinmi rẹ nínú àpáta?
What are you doing here, and who authorized you to carve out a tomb for yourself here—to chisel your tomb in the height and cut your resting place in the rock?
17 “Kíyèsára, Olúwa fẹ́ gbá ọ mú gírígírí kí ó sì jù ọ́ nù, ìwọ ọkùnrin alágbára.
Look, O mighty man! The LORD is about to shake you violently. He will take hold of you,
18 Òun yóò ká ọ rúgúdù bí i òkìtì yóò sì sọ ọ́ sí orílẹ̀-èdè ńlá kan. Níbẹ̀ ni ìwọ yóò sì kú sí àti níbẹ̀ pẹ̀lú ni àwọn kẹ̀kẹ́ ogun àràmọ̀ǹdà rẹ yóò wà— ìwọ di ìtìjú sí ilé ọ̀gá rẹ!
roll you into a ball, and sling you into a wide land. There you will die, and there your glorious chariots will remain—a disgrace to the house of your master.
19 Èmi yóò yọ ọ́ kúrò ní ipò rẹ, a ó sì lé ọ kúrò ní ipò rẹ.
I will remove you from office, and you will be ousted from your position.
20 “Ní ọjọ́ náà. Èmi yóò ké sí ọmọ ọ̀dọ̀ mi, Eliakimu ọmọ Hilkiah.
On that day I will summon My servant, Eliakim son of Hilkiah.
21 Èmi yóò fi aṣọ rẹ wọ̀ ọ́, n ó sì so ẹ̀wọ̀n rẹ mọ́ ọn ní ọrùn, èmi ó sì gbé àṣẹ rẹ lé e lọ́wọ́. Òun yó sì jẹ́ baba fún gbogbo olùgbé e Jerusalẹmu àti fún ilé e Juda.
I will clothe him with your robe and tie your sash around him. I will put your authority in his hand, and he will be a father to the dwellers of Jerusalem and to the house of Judah.
22 Èmi yóò sì fi kọ́kọ́rọ́ ilé e Dafidi lé e ní èjìká; ohunkóhun tí ó bá ṣí, ẹnikẹ́ni kì yóò lè ti, ohunkóhun tí ó bá sì tì, ẹnikẹ́ni kì yóò le è ṣí.
I will place on his shoulder the key to the house of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.
23 Èmi yóò sì kàn mọ́lẹ̀ bí èèkàn tí ó dúró gírígírí ní ààyè e rẹ̀; òun yóò sì jẹ́ ibùjókòó ọlá fún ilé baba rẹ̀.
I will drive him like a peg into a firm place, and he will be a throne of glory for the house of his father.
24 Gbogbo ògo ìdílé rẹ̀ ni wọn yóò sì fi kọ ní ọrùn: ìran rẹ̀ àti àrọ́mọdọ́mọ rẹ̀, gbogbo ohun èlò ife, títí dé orí ago ọtí.
So they will hang on him the whole burden of his father’s house: the descendants and the offshoots—all the lesser vessels, from bowls to every kind of jar.
25 “Ní ọjọ́ náà,” ni Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun wí, “Èèkàn tí a kàn mọ́lẹ̀ gírígírí ní ààyè e rẹ̀ yóò yẹrí, yóò dẹ̀gbẹ́ yóò sì fẹ̀gbẹ́ lélẹ̀ àti ẹrù tí ó létéńté lórí i rẹ̀ ni a ó gé lulẹ̀.” Olúwa ni ó ti sọ ọ́.
In that day, declares the LORD of Hosts, the peg driven into a firm place will give way; it will be sheared off and fall, and the load upon it will be cut down.” Indeed, the LORD has spoken.
