< Isaiah 20 >

1 Ní ọdún tí olórí ogun, tí Sagoni ọba Asiria rán an, wá sí Aṣdodu, ó kọlù ú ó sì kó o—
In the year of the coming in of Tartan to Ashdod, when Sargon king of Asshur sendeth him, and he fighteth against Ashdod, and captureth it,
2 ní àkókò náà ni ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa ti ẹnu Isaiah ọmọ Amosi jáde. Ó sọ fún un pé, “Mú aṣọ ọ̀fọ̀ kúrò ní ara rẹ kí o sì bọ́ sálúbàtà kúrò ní ẹsẹ̀ rẹ.” Ó sì ṣe bẹ́ẹ̀, ó ń lọ káàkiri ní ìhòhò àti láì wọ bàtà.
at that time spake Jehovah by the hand of Isaiah son of Amoz, saying, 'Go, and thou hast loosed the sackcloth from off thy loins, and thy sandal thou dost draw from off thy foot,' and he doth so, going naked and barefoot.
3 Lẹ́yìn náà ni Olúwa wí pé, “Gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìránṣẹ́ mi Isaiah ti lọ káàkiri ní ìhòhò àti láì wọ bàtà fún ọdún mẹ́ta, gẹ́gẹ́ bí àmì àti àpẹẹrẹ sí Ejibiti àti Kuṣi,
And Jehovah saith, 'As My servant Isaiah hath gone naked and barefoot three years, a sign and a wonder for Egypt and for Cush,
4 bẹ́ẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ ni ọba Asiria yóò kó àwọn ìgbèkùn Ejibiti lọ ní ìhòhò àti láì wọ bàtà pẹ̀lú àwọn àtìpó Kuṣi, ọ̀dọ́ àti àgbà, pẹ̀lú ìbàdí ìhòhò—bí àbùkù Ejibiti.
so doth the king of Asshur lead the captivity of Egypt, and the removal of Cush, young and old, naked and barefoot, with seat uncovered — the nakedness of Egypt;
5 Gbogbo àwọn tí ó gbẹ́kẹ̀lé Kuṣi tí wọ́n sì ń fi Ejibiti yangàn ni ẹ̀rù yóò dé bá tí a ó sì dójútì wọ́n.
and they have been affrighted and ashamed of Cush their confidence, and of Egypt their beauty,
6 Ní ọjọ́ náà àwọn ènìyàn tí ó ń gbé ní etí Òkun yóò wí pé, ‘Wo ohun tí ó ti ṣẹlẹ̀ sí àwọn tí a ti gbẹ́kẹ̀lé, àwọn tí a sá tọ̀ lọ fún ìrànlọ́wọ́ àti ìtúsílẹ̀ láti ọwọ́ ọba Asiria! Báwo ni a ó ṣe sálà?’”
and the inhabitant of this isle hath said in that day — Lo, thus [is] our trust, Whither we have fled for help, To be delivered from the king of Asshur, And how do we escape — we?'
