< Isaiah 18 >
1 Ègbé ni fún ilẹ̀ tí ó kún fún ariwo ìyẹ́ eṣú, ní àwọn ipadò Kuṣi,
Woe to the land shadowing with wings, which [is] beyond the rivers of Cush:
2 tí ó rán àwọn ikọ̀ lórí Òkun lórí omi nínú ọkọ̀-ọpọ́n tí a fi eèsún papirusi ṣe. Ẹ lọ, ẹ̀yin ikọ̀ tí ó yára, sí àwọn ènìyàn gíga tí àwọ̀ ara wọn jọ̀lọ̀, sí àwọn ènìyàn tí a ń bẹ̀rù káàkiri, orílẹ̀-èdè aláfojúdi alájèjì èdè, tí odò pín ilẹ̀ rẹ̀ yẹ́lẹyẹ̀lẹ.
That sendeth embassadors by the sea, even in vessels of bulrushes upon the waters, [saying], Go, ye swift messengers to a nation scattered and peeled, to a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation measured by line and trodden down, whose land the rivers have laid waste.
3 Gbogbo ẹ̀yin ènìyàn ayé, tí ó ń gbé orílẹ̀ ayé, nígbà tí a bá gbé àsíá kan sókè lórí òkè, ẹ ó rí i, nígbà tí a bá fun fèrè kan ẹ ó gbọ́ ọ.
All ye inhabitants of the world, and dwellers on the earth, see ye, when he lifteth up an ensign on the mountains; and when he bloweth a trumpet, hear ye.
4 Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa sọ fún mi: “Èmi yóò dákẹ́ jẹ́ẹ́, èmi yóò sì máa wo òréré láti ibùgbé e mi wá, gẹ́gẹ́ bí ooru gbígbóná nínú ìtànṣán oòrùn, gẹ́gẹ́ bí òjò-dídì ní àárín gbùngbùn ìkórè.”
For so the LORD said to me, I will take my rest, and I will consider in my dwelling-place like a clear heat upon herbs, [and] like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.
5 Nítorí, kí ìkórè tó bẹ̀rẹ̀, nígbà tí ìrudí bá kún, nígbà tí ìtànná bá di èso àjàrà pípọ́n. Òun yóò sì fi dòjé rẹ́ ẹ̀ka tuntun, yóò sì mu kúrò, yóò sì gé ẹ̀ka lulẹ̀.
For before the harvest, when the bud is perfect, and the sour grape is ripening in the flower, he shall both cut off the sprigs with pruning-hooks, and take away [and] cut down the branches.
6 A ó fi wọ́n sílẹ̀ fún àwọn ẹyẹ òkè ńlá àti fún àwọn ẹranko búburú; àwọn ẹyẹ yóò fi wọ́n ṣe oúnjẹ nínú ẹ̀ẹ̀rùn àti àwọn ẹranko búburú nígbà òjò.
They shall be left together to the fowls of the mountains, and to the beasts of the earth: and the fowls shall summer upon them, and all the beasts of the earth shall winter upon them.
7 Ní àkókò náà ni a ó mú ẹ̀bùn wá fún Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun láti ọ̀dọ̀ àwọn ènìyàn gíga tí ẹran-ara wọn jọ̀lọ̀, láti ọ̀dọ̀ àwọn ènìyàn tí a bẹ̀rù níbi gbogbo, orílẹ̀-èdè aláfojúdi àti alájèjì èdè, ilẹ̀ ẹni tí omi pín sí yẹ́lẹyẹ̀lẹ— a ó mú àwọn ẹ̀bùn náà wá sí òkè Sioni, ibi tí orúkọ Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun gbé wà.
In that time shall the present be brought to the LORD of hosts of a people scattered and peeled, and from a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation measured by line and trodden under foot, whose land the rivers have spoiled, to the place of the name of the LORD of hosts, the mount Zion.
