< Isaiah 14 >

1 Olúwa yóò fi àánú hàn fún Jakọbu, yóò tún Israẹli yàn lẹ́ẹ̀kan sí i yóò sì fi ìdí wọn kalẹ̀ ní ilẹ̀ àwọn tìkára wọn. Àwọn àjèjì yóò darapọ̀ mọ́ wọn, wọn yóò sì fọwọ́sowọ́pọ̀ pẹ̀lú ilé e Jakọbu.
Her time is drawing near, and her days will not be prolonged. For the Lord will take pity on Jacob, and he will still choose from Israel, and he will cause them to rest upon their own soil. And the new arrival will be joined to them, and he will adhere to the house of Jacob.
2 Àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè yóò gbà wọ́n wọn yóò sì mú wọn wá sí ààyè e wọn. Ilé Israẹli yóò gba àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè gẹ́gẹ́ bí àwọn ẹrúkùnrin àti ẹrúbìnrin ní ilẹ̀ Olúwa. Wọn yóò kó àwọn akónilẹ́rú wọn ní ìgbèkùn wọn yóò sì jẹ ọba lórí àwọn amúnisìn wọn.
And the people will take them, and lead them to their place. And the house of Israel will possess them, in the land of the Lord, as men and women servants. And they will take captive those who had taken them captive. And they will subjugate their oppressors.
3 Ní ọjọ́ tí Olúwa yóò fi ìtura fún un yín kúrò nínú ìpọ́njú àti ìyà àti ìdè ìkà,
And this shall be in that day: when God will have given you rest from your labor, and from your oppression, and from the difficult servitude under which you served before,
4 ẹ ó sì fi ọ̀rọ̀ àbùkù yìí kan ọba Babeli pé, báwo ni amúnisìn ṣe wá sí òpin! Báwo ni ìbínú rẹ̀ ṣe parí!
you will accept this parable against the king of Babylon, and you will say: “How is it that the oppressor has ceased, along with his tribute?
5 Olúwa ti dá ọ̀pá ìkà náà, ọ̀pá àwọn aláṣẹ,
The Lord has crushed the staff of the impious, the scepter of despots,
6 èyí tí ó ti lu àwọn ènìyàn bolẹ̀ pẹ̀lú ti kò dáwọ́ dúró, nínú ìrunú ni ó ṣẹ́gun àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè pẹ̀lú ìgbónára tí kò lópin.
which struck the people in wrath with an incurable wound, which subjugated the nations in fury, which persecuted with cruelty.
7 Gbogbo ilẹ̀ ni ó wà ní ìsinmi àti àlàáfíà, wọ́n bú sí orin.
All the earth has become quiet and still; it has been gladdened and has rejoiced.
8 Pẹ̀lúpẹ̀lú àwọn igi junifa àti àwọn igi kedari ti Lebanoni ń yọ̀ lórí rẹ wí pé, “Níwọ́n bí a ti rẹ̀ ọ́ sílẹ̀ báyìí, kò sí agégi tí yóò wá láti gé wa lulẹ̀.”
The evergreens, too, have rejoiced over you, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying: ‘Since you have slept, no one has ascended who would cut us down.’
9 Ibojì tí ó wà ní ìsàlẹ̀ ni a ru sókè láti pàdé rẹ ní ìpadàbọ̀ rẹ̀ ó ru ẹ̀mí àwọn tí ó ti lọ sókè láti wá kí ọ gbogbo àwọn tí ó jẹ́ olórí ní ayé ó mú kí wọn dìde lórí ìtẹ́ wọn gbogbo àwọn tí ó jẹ ọba lórí àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè. (Sheol h7585)
Hell below was stirred up to meet you at your advent; it has awakened the giants for you. All the leaders of the earth have risen from their thrones, all the leaders among the nations.” (Sheol h7585)
10 Gbogbo wọn yóò dáhùn, wọn yóò wí fún ọ wí pé, “Ìwọ pẹ̀lú ti di aláìlera, gẹ́gẹ́ bí àwa pẹ̀lú ìwọ náà ti dàbí wa.”
Everyone will respond and will say to you: “Now you are wounded, just as we were; you have become like us.
11 Gbogbo rẹ̀ ni ó di ìrẹ̀sílẹ̀ lọ sí ibojì, pẹ̀lú ariwo àwọn dùùrù rẹ, àwọn ìdin ni wọ́n fọ́nkálẹ̀ lábẹ́ rẹ àwọn ekòló sì ti bò ọ́ mọ́lẹ̀. (Sheol h7585)
Your arrogance has been dragged down to Hell. Your body has fallen dead. The moths will be strewn beneath you, and the worms will be your covering. (Sheol h7585)
12 Báwo ni ìwọ ṣe ṣubú lulẹ̀ láti ọ̀run wá, ìwọ ìràwọ̀ òwúrọ̀, ọmọ òwúrọ̀ náà! A ti sọ ọ́ sílẹ̀ sínú ayé, ìwọ tí o ti tẹ orí àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè ba rí!
How is it that you have fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, who used to rise like the sun? How is it that you have fallen to the earth, you who wounded the peoples?
13 Ìwọ sọ nínú ọkàn rẹ pé, “Èmi yóò gòkè lọ sí ọ̀run; èmi yóò gbé ìtẹ́ mi sókè ga ju àwọn ìràwọ̀ Ọlọ́run, Èmi yóò gúnwà ní orí òkè àpéjọ ní ṣóńṣó orí òkè mímọ́.
And you said in your heart: ‘I will climb up to heaven. I will exalt my throne above the stars of God. I will be enthroned upon the mountain of the covenant, on the northern parts.
14 Èmi yóò gòkè lọ rékọjá àwọn àwọsánmọ̀; èmi yóò ṣe ara mi gẹ́gẹ́ bí Ọ̀gá-ògo.”
I will ascend above the tops of the clouds. I will be like the Most High.’
15 Ṣùgbọ́n a ti rẹ̀ ọ́ sílẹ̀ wọ inú ibojì lọ lọ sí ìsàlẹ̀ ọ̀gbun. (Sheol h7585)
Yet truly, you shall be dragged down to Hell, into the depths of the pit. (Sheol h7585)
16 Àwọn tí ó rí ọ yóò tẹjúmọ́ ọ, wọ́n ronú nípa àtubọ̀tán rẹ: “Ǹjẹ́ èyí ni ẹni tí ó mi ayé tìtì tí ó sì jẹ́ kí àwọn ilẹ̀ ọba wárìrì.
Those who see you, will lean toward you, and will gaze upon you, saying: ‘Could this be the man who disturbed the earth, who shook kingdoms,
17 Ẹni tí ó sọ ayé di aginjù, tí ó sì pa ìlú ńlá ńlá rẹ̀ run tí kò dá àwọn òǹdè rẹ̀ sílẹ̀ láti padà sílé?”
who made the world into a desert and destroyed its cities, who would not even open a prison for his prisoners?’”
18 Gbogbo àwọn ọba orílẹ̀-èdè ni a tẹ́ sílẹ̀ ọ̀kọ̀ọ̀kan nínú ibojì tirẹ̀.
All the kings of the nations throughout the whole world have slept in glory, each man in his own house.
19 Ṣùgbọ́n a jù ọ́ síta kúrò nínú ibojì gẹ́gẹ́ bí ẹ̀ka igi tí a kọ̀sílẹ̀, àwọn tí a pa ni ó bò ọ́ mọ́lẹ̀, àwọn tí idà ti gún, àwọn tí ó sọ̀kalẹ̀ lọ sínú òkúta inú ọ̀gbun. Gẹ́gẹ́ bí òkú ó di ìtẹ̀mọ́lẹ̀ ní abẹ́ àtẹ́lẹsẹ̀,
But you have been rejected from your grave, like a useless polluted plant, and you have been bound up with those who were slain by the sword, and who descended to the bottom of the pit, like a rotting carcass.
20 a kò ní sin ọ́ pẹ̀lú wọn, nítorí pé o ti ba ilẹ̀ rẹ jẹ́ o sì ti pa àwọn ènìyàn rẹ. Ìran àwọn ìkà ni a kì yóò dárúkọ wọn mọ́.
You will not be associated with them, even in the grave. For you have destroyed your own land; you have slain your own people. The offspring of the wicked ones will not be called upon for eternity.
21 Tọ́jú ibìkan tí a ó ti pa àwọn ọmọkùnrin rẹ nítorí ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ àwọn baba ńlá wọn, wọn kò gbọdọ̀ dìde láti jogún ilẹ̀ kí wọ́n sì bo orí ilẹ̀ pẹ̀lú àwọn ìlú u wọn.
Prepare his sons for the slaughter, according to the iniquity of their fathers. They will not rise up, nor inherit the earth, nor fill the face of the world with cities.
But I will rise up against them, says the Lord of hosts. And I will perish the name of Babylon and its remnants: both the plant and its progeny, says the Lord.
23 Èmi yóò yí i padà sí ibùgbé àwọn òwìwí àti sí irà; Èmi yóò fi ọwọ́ ìparun gbá a, ni Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun wí.
And I will appoint it as a possession for the hedgehog, with swamps of water. And I will sweep it out and wear it away with a brush, says the Lord of hosts.
24 Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun ti búra, “Gẹ́gẹ́ bí mo ti ṣètò, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni yóò rí, àti bí mo ti pinnu, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni yóò sì dúró.
The Lord of hosts has sworn, saying: Surely, just as I have considered it, so shall it be, and in the same manner as I have drawn it through my mind,
25 Èmi yóò run Asiria ní ilẹ̀ mi, ní àwọn orí òkè mi ni èmi yóò ti rún un mọ́lẹ̀. Àjàgà rẹ̀ ni a ó mú kúrò lọ́rùn àwọn ènìyàn mi, ẹrù u rẹ̀ ni ó mú kúrò ní èjìká wọn.”
so shall it occur. So shall I crush the Assyrian in my land, and I will trample him upon my mountains, and his yoke will be taken away from them, and his burden will be removed from their shoulder.
26 Èyí ni ètò tí a pinnu rẹ̀ fún gbogbo ayé, èyí ni ọwọ́ tí a nà jáde káàkiri gbogbo orílẹ̀-èdè.
This is the plan that I have decided, concerning the entire earth, and this is the hand which is extended over all the nations.
27 Nítorí Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun ti pète, ta ni yóò sì ká a lọ́wọ́ kò? Ọwọ́ọ rẹ ti nà jáde, ta ni ó sì le è fà á padà?
For the Lord of hosts has decreed it, and who is able to weaken it? And his hand is extended, so who can avert it?
28 Ọ̀rọ̀-ìmọ̀ yí wá ní ọdún tí ọba Ahasi kú.
In the year in which king Ahaz died, this burden was given:
29 Má ṣe yọ̀, gbogbo ẹ̀yin Filistia, pé ọ̀pá tí ó lù ọ́ ti dá; láti ibi gbòǹgbò ejò náà ni paramọ́lẹ̀ yóò ti hù jáde, èso rẹ̀ yóò sì jẹ́ oró ejò tí í jóni.
You should not rejoice, all you of Philistia, that the rod of him who struck you has been crushed. For from the root of the serpent will go forth a king snake, and his offspring will engulf that which flies.
30 Ẹni tí ó kúṣẹ̀ẹ́ jù yóò ní pápá oko, àwọn aláìní yóò sì dùbúlẹ̀ láìléwu. Ṣùgbọ́n gbòǹgbò o rẹ̀ ni èmi ó fi ìyàn parun, yóò sì ké àwọn ẹni rẹ tí ó sálà kúrò.
And the firstborn of the poor will be pastured, and the poor will rest in faithfulness. And I will cause your root to pass away by famine, and I will put to death your remnant.
31 Hu, ìwọ ẹnu-ọ̀nà! Kígbe, ìwọ ìlú! Yọ́ kúrò, gbogbo ẹ̀yin Filistia! Èéfín kurukuru kan ti àríwá wá, kò sì ṣí amóríbọ́ kan nínú ẹgbẹ́ wọn.
Wail, O gate! Cry out, O city! All of Philistia has been prostrated. For a smoke will arrive from the north, and there is no one who will escape his army.
32 Kí ni ìdáhùn tí a ó fún agbẹnusọ orílẹ̀-èdè náà? “Olúwa ti fi ìdí Sioni kalẹ̀, àti nínú rẹ̀ ni àwọn ènìyàn rẹ̀ tí a ti pọ́n ọn lójú yóò ti rí ààbò o wọn.”
And what will be the response to this news among the nations? It will be that the Lord has established Zion, and that the poor of his people will hope in him.
