< Hosea 12 >
1 Efraimu ń jẹ afẹ́fẹ́; o ń lépa afẹ́fẹ́ ìwọ̀-oòrùn ní gbogbo ọjọ́. O sì ń gbèrú nínú irọ́ o dá májẹ̀mú pẹ̀lú Asiria o sì fi òróró olifi ránṣẹ́ sí Ejibiti.
Ephraim feeds on wind, and follows after the east wind: he daily increases lies and desolation; and they do make a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil is carried into Egypt.
2 Olúwa ní ẹjọ́ kan tí yóò bá Juda rò, yóò fì ìyà jẹ Jakọbu gẹ́gẹ́ bí ọ̀nà rẹ̀ yóò sì sán fún un gẹ́gẹ́ bí i ìṣe rẹ̀.
The LORD has also a controversy with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his doings will he recompense him.
3 Láti inú oyún ni ó ti di arákùnrin rẹ̀ mú ni gìgísẹ̀, àti nípa ipá rẹ̀ ó ni agbára pẹ̀lú Ọlọ́run
He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God:
4 Ó bá angẹli ja ìjàkadì, ó sì borí rẹ̀, o sọkún, ó sì bẹ̀bẹ̀ fún ojúrere rẹ̀. Ó bá Olúwa ní Beteli, Ó sì bá a sọ̀rọ̀ níbẹ̀,
Yea, he had power over the angel, and prevailed: he wept, and made supplication unto him: he found him in Bethel, and there he spoke with us;
5 àní Olúwa Ọlọ́run àwọn ọmọ-ogun; Olúwa ni orúkọ ìrántí rẹ̀.
Even the LORD God of hosts; the LORD is his memorial.
6 Ṣùgbọ́n ìwọ gbọdọ̀ padà sọ́dọ̀ Ọlọ́run rẹ̀; di ìfẹ́ àti ìdájọ́ òdodo mú kí ẹ sì dúró de Ọlọ́run yín nígbà gbogbo.
Therefore turn you to your God: keep mercy and judgment and wait on your God continually.
7 Oníṣòwò ń lo òsùwọ̀n èké o fẹ́ràn láti rẹ́ ni jẹ.
He is a merchant, the balances of deceit are in his hand: he loves to oppress.
8 Efraimu gbéraga, “Èmi ní ìní fún ara mi, mo sì ti di ọlọ́rọ̀, pẹ̀lú gbogbo ọrọ̀ mi yìí, wọn kò le ká àìṣedéédéé tàbí ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ kankan mọ́ mi lọ́wọ́.”
And Ephraim said, Yet I am become rich, I have found me out substance: in all my labours they shall find none iniquity in me that were sin.
9 “Èmi ni Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ; ẹni tí ó mu ọ jáde wá láti ilẹ̀ Ejibiti; èmi yóò tún mú yín gbé nínú àgọ́ bí i ọjọ́ àjọ̀dún tí a yàn wọ̀n-ọn-nì.
And I that am the LORD your God from the land of Egypt will yet make you to dwell in tabernacles, as in the days of the solemn feast.
10 Mo sọ fún àwọn wòlíì, mo fi ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ìran hàn wọ́n mo sì pa òwe láti ẹnu wòlíì wọn.”
I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets.
11 Gileadi ha burú bí? Àwọn ènìyàn rẹ̀ jẹ́ asán. Ǹjẹ́ wọ́n ń fi akọ màlúù rú ẹbọ ní Gilgali? Gbogbo pẹpẹ wọ́n sì dàbí ebè nínú aporo oko.
Is there iniquity in Gilead? surely they are vanity: they sacrifice bullocks in Gilgal; yea, their altars are as heaps in the furrows of the fields.
12 Jakọbu sálọ si orílẹ̀-èdè Aramu; Israẹli sìn kí o tó fẹ́ ìyàwó ó ṣe ìtọ́jú ẹran láti fi san owó ìyàwó.
And Jacob fled into the country of Syria, and Israel served for a wife, and for a wife he kept sheep.
13 Olúwa lo wòlíì kan láti mú Israẹli jáde wá láti Ejibiti, nípasẹ̀ wòlíì kan ó ṣe ìtọ́jú rẹ̀.
And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.
14 Ṣùgbọ́n Efraimu ti mú un bínú gidigidi; Olúwa rẹ̀ yóò sì fi ẹ̀bi ìtàjẹ̀ sílẹ̀ sí orí rẹ̀ òun yóò sì san án padà fún un nítorí ìwà ẹ̀gàn an rẹ̀.
Ephraim provoked him to anger most bitterly: therefore shall he leave his blood upon him, and his reproach shall his LORD return unto him.
