< Hosea 11 >

1 “Nígbà tí Israẹli wà ní ọmọdé mo fẹ́ràn rẹ̀, mo sì pe ọmọ mi jáde láti Ejibiti wá.
Just as the morning passes, so has the king of Israel passed by. For Israel was a child and I loved him; and out of Egypt I called my son.
2 Bí a ti ń pe wọn, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni wọ́n ṣe ń sá kúrò lọ́dọ̀ mi, wọn rú ẹbọ sí Baali, wọn sì fi tùràrí jóná sí ère fínfín.
They called them, and so they departed before their face. They offered victims to the Baals, and they sacrificed to graven images.
3 Lóòtítọ́ mo kọ́ Efraimu pẹ̀lú ní ìrìn mo di wọ́n mú ní apá, ṣùgbọ́n wọn kò mọ̀ pé mo ti mú wọn láradá.
And I was like a foster father to Ephraim. I carried them in my arms. And they did not know that I healed them.
4 Mo fi okùn ènìyàn fà wọ́n àti ìdè ìfẹ́. Mo mú àjàgà kúrò ni ọrùn wọn, Mo sì fi ara balẹ̀ fún wọn ni oúnjẹ.
I will draw them with the cords of Adam, with the bands of love. And I will be to them like one who raises the yoke over their jaws. And I will reach down to him so that he may eat.
5 “Ṣé wọn ò wá ní padà sí Ejibiti bí. Ṣé Asiria kò sì ní jẹ ọba lé wọn lórí bí nítorí pé wọ́n kọ̀ jálẹ̀ láti ronúpìwàdà?
He will not return to the land of Egypt, but Assur himself will be the king over him, because they were not willing to be converted.
6 Idà yóò kọ mọ̀nà ní gbogbo ìlú wọn yóò si bá gbogbo irin ẹnu odi ìlú wọn jẹ́ yóò sì fi òpin sí gbogbo èrò wọn.
The sword has begun in his cities, and it will consume his elect and devour their heads.
7 Àwọn ènìyàn mi ti pinnu láti pẹ̀yìndà kúrò lọ́dọ̀ mi bí wọ́n tilẹ̀ pè wọ́n sọ́dọ̀ Ọ̀gá-ògo jùlọ, kò ní gbé wọn ga rárá.
And my people will long for my return. But a yoke will be imposed on them together, which will not be taken away.
8 “Báwo ni èmi ó ṣe fi ọ́ sílẹ̀, Efraimu? Báwo ni èmi ó ṣe yọ̀ǹda rẹ̀, Israẹli? Báwo ni mo ṣe lè ṣe ọ bi i Adma? Báwo ni mo ṣe lè ṣe ọ bi i Seboimu? Ọkàn mi yípadà nínú mi àánú mi sì ru sókè.
How will I provide for you, Ephraim; how will I protect you, Israel? How will I provide for you as for Adam; will I set you like Zeboiim? My heart has changed within me; together with my regret, it has been stirred up.
9 Èmi kò ni mú ìbínú gbígbóná mi ṣẹ, tàbí kí èmi wá sọ Efraimu di ahoro. Nítorí pé èmi ni Ọlọ́run, àní, èmi kì í ṣe ènìyàn. Ẹni mímọ́ láàrín yín, Èmi kò ní í wá nínú ìbínú.
I will not act on the fury of my wrath. I will not turn back to utterly destroy Ephraim. For I am God, and not man, the Divine in your midst, and I will not advance upon the city.
10 Wọn yóò máa tẹ̀lé Olúwa; òun yóò bú ramúramù bí i kìnnìún. Nígbà tó bá bú, àwọn ọmọ rẹ yóò wá ní ìwárìrì láti ìwọ̀-oòrùn.
They will walk after the Lord; he will roar like a lion. For he himself will roar, and the sons of the sea will dread.
11 Wọn ó wá pẹ̀lú ẹ̀rù bí i ẹyẹ láti Ejibiti, bí i àdàbà láti Asiria, Èmi ó mú wọn padà sí ilé wọn,” ni Olúwa wí.
And they will fly like a bird out of Egypt, and like a dove from the land of the Assyrians. And I will arrange them in their own houses, says the Lord.
12 Efraimu tí fi irọ́ yí mi ká ilé Israẹli pẹ̀lú ẹ̀tàn. Ṣùgbọ́n Juda sì dúró ṣinṣin pẹ̀lú Ọlọ́run. Ó sì ṣe olóòtítọ́ sí Ẹni mímọ́ Israẹli.
Ephraim has besieged me with denials, and the house of Israel with deceit. But Judah went down as a witness before God and the holy ones of faith.
