< Hebrews 9 >
1 Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni májẹ̀mú àkọ́kọ́ ní ìlànà fún ìsìn àti ibi mímọ́ ti ayé yìí.
Now the first covenant had regulations for worship and also an earthly sanctuary.
2 A gbé àgọ́ kan dìde. Nínú yàrá rẹ̀ àkọ́kọ́ ni a ti rí ọ̀pá fìtílà, tábìlì, àti àkàrà ìfihàn. Èyí tí a ń pè ní ibi mímọ́.
A tabernacle was prepared. In its first room were the lampstand, the table, and the consecrated bread. This was called the Holy Place.
3 Àti lẹ́yìn aṣọ ìkélé kejì, òun ni àgọ́ tí à ń pè ní Ibi Mímọ́ Jùlọ;
Behind the second curtain was a room called the Most Holy Place,
4 tí ó ní àwo tùràrí wúrà, àti àpótí ẹ̀rí tí a fi wúrà bò yíká, nínú èyí tí ìkòkò wúrà tí ó ní manna gbé wà, àti ọ̀pá Aaroni tí o rúdí, àti àwọn wàláà májẹ̀mú;
containing the golden altar of incense and the gold-covered ark of the covenant. Inside the ark were the gold jar of manna, Aaron’s staff that had budded, and the stone tablets of the covenant.
5 àti lórí àpótí ni àwọn kérúbù ògo ti i síji bo ìtẹ́ àánú; èyí tí a kò lè sọ̀rọ̀ rẹ̀ nísinsin yìí lọ́kọ̀ọ̀kan.
Above the ark were the cherubim of glory, overshadowing the mercy seat. But we cannot discuss these things in detail now.
6 Ǹjẹ́ nígbà tí a ti ṣe ètò nǹkan wọ̀nyí báyìí, àwọn àlùfáà a máa lọ nígbàkígbà sínú àgọ́ èkínní, wọn a máa ṣe iṣẹ́ ìsìn.
When everything had been prepared in this way, the priests entered regularly into the first room to perform their sacred duties.
7 Ṣùgbọ́n sínú èkejì ni olórí àlùfáà nìkan máa ń lọ lẹ́ẹ̀kan ṣoṣo lọ́dún, fún ara rẹ̀, àti fún ìṣìnà àwọn ènìyàn.
But only the high priest entered the second room, and then only once a year, and never without blood, which he offered for himself and for the sins the people had committed in ignorance.
8 Ẹ̀mí Mímọ́ ń tọ́ka èyí pé a kò ì tí ì ṣí ọ̀nà Ibi Mímọ́ Jùlọ sílẹ̀ níwọ̀n ìgbà tí àgọ́ èkínní bá sì dúró,
By this arrangement the Holy Spirit was showing that the way into the Most Holy Place had not yet been disclosed as long as the first tabernacle was still standing.
9 èyí tí i ṣe àpẹẹrẹ fún ìgbà ìsinsin yìí. Gẹ́gẹ́ bí ètò yìí, a ń mú ẹ̀bùn àti ẹbọ wá, tí kò lè mú ẹ̀rí ọkàn olùsìn di pípé.
It is an illustration for the present time, because the gifts and sacrifices being offered were unable to cleanse the conscience of the worshiper.
10 Èyí sì wà nínú ohun jíjẹ àti ohun mímu àti onírúurú ìwẹ̀, tí í ṣe ìlànà ti ara nìkan tí a fi lélẹ̀ títí fi di ìgbà àtúnṣe.
They consist only in food and drink and special washings—external regulations imposed until the time of reform.
11 Ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí Kristi dé bí olórí àlùfáà àwọn ohun rere tí ń bọ̀, nípasẹ̀ àgọ́ tí o tóbi ti ó sì pé ju ti ìṣáájú, èyí tí a kò fi ọwọ́ dá, èyí yìí ni, tí kì í ṣe ti ẹ̀dá yìí.
But when Christ came as high priest of the good things that have come, He went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not made by hands and is not a part of this creation.
12 Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kì í ṣe nípasẹ̀ ẹ̀jẹ̀ ewúrẹ́ àti ọmọ màlúù, ṣùgbọ́n nípa ẹ̀jẹ̀ òun tìkára rẹ̀, o wọ Ibi Mímọ́ Jùlọ lẹ́ẹ̀kan ṣoṣo, lẹ́yìn tí ó ti rí ìdáǹdè àìnípẹ̀kun gbà fún wa. (aiōnios )
He did not enter by the blood of goats and calves, but He entered the Most Holy Place once for all by His own blood, thus securing eternal redemption. (aiōnios )
13 Nítorí bí ẹ̀jẹ̀ ewúrẹ́ àti ti akọ màlúù àti eérú ẹgbọrọ abo màlúù tí a fi wọ́n àwọn tí a ti sọ di aláìmọ́ ba ń sọ ni di mímọ́ fún ìwẹ̀nùmọ́ ara:
For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that their bodies are clean,
14 mélòó mélòó ni ẹ̀jẹ̀ Kristi, ẹni, nípa Ẹ̀mí ayérayé, tí ó fi ara rẹ̀ rú ẹbọ sí Ọlọ́run láìní àbàwọ́n, yóò wẹ èérí ọkàn yín nù kúrò nínú òkú iṣẹ́ láti sin Ọlọ́run alààyè? (aiōnios )
how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself unblemished to God, purify our consciences from works of death, so that we may serve the living God! (aiōnios )
15 Àti nítorí èyí ni ó ṣe jẹ́ alárinà májẹ̀mú tuntun pé bí ikú ti ń bẹ fún ìdáǹdè àwọn ìrékọjá ti o tí wà lábẹ́ májẹ̀mú ìṣáájú, kí àwọn tí a ti pè lè rí ìlérí ogún àìnípẹ̀kun gbà. (aiōnios )
Therefore Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, now that He has died to redeem them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant. (aiōnios )
16 Nítorí níbi tí ìwé ogún bá gbé wà, ikú ẹni tí o ṣe é kò lè ṣe àìsí pẹ̀lú;
In the case of a will, it is necessary to establish the death of the one who made it,
17 nítorí ìwé ogún ní agbára lẹ́yìn ìgbà tí ènìyàn bá kú, nítorí kò ní agbára rárá nígbà tí ẹni tí o ṣè e bá ń bẹ láààyè.
because a will does not take effect until the one who made it has died; it cannot be executed while he is still alive.
18 Nítorí náà ni a kò ṣe ya májẹ̀mú ìṣáájú pàápàá sí mímọ́ láìsí ẹ̀jẹ̀.
That is why even the first covenant was not put into effect without blood.
19 Nítorí nígbà tí Mose ti sọ gbogbo àṣẹ nípa ti òfin fún gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn, ó mú ẹ̀jẹ̀ ọmọ màlúù àti ti ewúrẹ́, pẹ̀lú omi, àti òwú òdòdó, àti ewé hísópù ó sì fi wọ́n àti ìwé pàápàá àti gbogbo ènìyàn.
For when Moses had proclaimed every commandment of the law to all the people, he took the blood of calves and goats, along with water, scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled the scroll and all the people,
20 Wí pé, “Èyí ní ẹ̀jẹ̀ májẹ̀mú tí Ọlọ́run pàṣẹ fún yín.”
saying, “This is the blood of the covenant, which God has commanded you to keep.”
21 Bẹ́ẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ ni ó sì fi ẹ̀jẹ̀ wọ́n àgọ́, àti gbogbo ohun èlò ìsìn.
In the same way, he sprinkled with blood the tabernacle and all the vessels used in worship.
22 Ó sì fẹ́rẹ̀ jẹ́ ohun gbogbo ni a fi ẹ̀jẹ̀ wẹ̀nù gẹ́gẹ́ bí òfin; àti pé láìsí ìtàjẹ̀ sílẹ̀ kò sí ìdáríjì.
According to the law, in fact, nearly everything must be purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
23 Nítorí náà a kò lè ṣàì fi ìwọ̀nyí wé àwọn àpẹẹrẹ ohun tí ń bẹ lọ́run mọ́; ṣùgbọ́n ó yẹ kí a fi ẹbọ tí ó sàn ju ìwọ̀nyí lọ wẹ àwọn ohun ọ̀run pàápàá mọ́; ṣùgbọ́n ó yẹ kí a fi ẹbọ tí ó sàn ju ìwọ̀nyí lọ wẹ àwọn ohun ọ̀run pàápàá mọ́.
So it was necessary for the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these sacrifices, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
24 Nítorí Kristi kò wọ ibi mímọ́ tí a fi ọwọ́ ṣe lọ tí i ṣe àpẹẹrẹ ti òtítọ́; ṣùgbọ́n ó lọ sí ọ̀run pàápàá, nísinsin yìí láti farahàn ní iwájú Ọlọ́run fún wa.
For Christ did not enter a man-made copy of the true sanctuary, but He entered heaven itself, now to appear on our behalf in the presence of God.
25 Kì í sí i ṣe pé kí ó lè máa fi ara rẹ̀ rú ẹbọ nígbàkígbà, bí olórí àlùfáà tí máa ń wọ inú Ibi Mímọ́ Jùlọ lọ lọ́dọọdún ti òun pẹ̀lú ẹ̀jẹ̀ ti kì í ṣe tirẹ̀,
Nor did He enter heaven to offer Himself again and again, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood that is not his own.
26 bí bẹ́ẹ̀ bá ni, òun ìbá tí máa jìyà nígbàkígbà láti ìpìlẹ̀ ayé. Ṣùgbọ́n nísinsin yìí ni ó fi ara hàn lẹ́ẹ̀kan ṣoṣo lópin ayé láti mu ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ kúrò nípa ẹbọ ara rẹ̀. (aiōn )
Otherwise, Christ would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But now He has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of Himself. (aiōn )
27 Níwọ́n bí a sì ti fi lélẹ̀ fún gbogbo ènìyàn láti kú lẹ́ẹ̀kan ṣoṣo, ṣùgbọ́n lẹ́yìn èyí ìdájọ́,
Just as man is appointed to die once, and after that to face judgment,
28 bẹ́ẹ̀ ni Kristi pẹ̀lú lẹ́yìn tí a ti fi rú ẹbọ lẹ́ẹ̀kan ṣoṣo láti ru ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀, yóò farahàn ní ìgbà kejì láìsí ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ fún àwọn tí n wo ọ̀nà rẹ̀ fún ìgbàlà.
so also Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who eagerly await Him.
