< Hebrews 5 >

1 Nítorí olórí àlùfáà kọ̀ọ̀kan tí a yàn nínú àwọn ènìyàn, ní a fi jẹ nítorí iṣẹ́ ìsìn àwọn ènìyàn sí Ọlọ́run láti máa mú ẹ̀bùn àti ẹbọ wá nítorí ẹ̀ṣẹ̀.
For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:
2 Ẹni tí ó lè ṣe jẹ́ẹ́jẹ́ pẹ̀lú àwọn aláìmòye, tí ó sì lé bá àwọn tí ó ti yapa kẹ́dùn, nítorí a fi àìlera yí òun náà ká pẹ̀lú.
Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity.
3 Nítorí ìdí èyí ni ó ṣe yẹ, bí ó ti ń rú ẹbọ nítorí ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ fún àwọn ènìyàn rẹ̀, bẹ́ẹ̀ pẹ̀lú ní ń ṣe fún ara rẹ̀ náà.
And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins.
4 Kọ sí ẹni tí o gba ọlá yìí fún ara rẹ̀, bí kò ṣe ẹni tí a pè láti ọ̀dọ̀ Ọlọ́run wá gẹ́gẹ́ bí a ti pe Aaroni.
And no man takes this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.
5 Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni Kristi pẹ̀lú kò sì ṣe ara rẹ̀ lógo láti jẹ́ olórí àlùfáà; bí kò ṣe ẹni tí o wí fún ún pé, “Ìwọ ni ọmọ mi, lónìí ni mo bí ọ.”
So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, You are my Son, to day have I begotten you.
6 Bí ó ti wí pẹ̀lú ní ibòmíràn pé, “Ìwọ ni àlùfáà títí láé ní ipasẹ̀ Melkisedeki.” (aiōn g165)
As he says also in another place, You are a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. (aiōn g165)
7 Ní ìgbà ọjọ́ Jesu nínú ayé, ó fi ìkérora rara àti omijé gbàdúrà, tí ó sì bẹ̀bẹ̀ lọ́dọ̀ ẹni tí ó lè gbà á sílẹ̀ lọ́wọ́ ikú, a sì gbóhùn rẹ̀ nítorí ó ní ẹ̀mí ìbẹ̀rù Ọlọ́run rẹ̀.
Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;
8 Bí òun tilẹ̀ ń ṣe Ọmọ Ọlọ́run, síbẹ̀ ó kọ́ ìgbọ́ran nípa ohun tí ó jìyà rẹ̀.
Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
9 Bí a sì ti sọ ọ di pípé, o wa di orísun ìgbàlà àìnípẹ̀kun fún gbogbo àwọn tí ó ń gbọ́ tirẹ̀, (aiōnios g166)
And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; (aiōnios g166)
10 tí a yàn ní olórí àlùfáà láti ọ̀dọ̀ Ọlọ́run wá ní ipasẹ̀ Melkisedeki.
Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.
11 Nípa èyí àwa ní ohun púpọ̀ láti sọ, tí ó sì ṣòro láti túmọ̀, nítorí pé ẹ yigbì ní gbígbọ́.
Of whom we have (logos) many things to say, (logos) and hard to be uttered, seeing all of you are dull of hearing.
12 Nítorí pé báyìí ó ti yẹ kí ẹ jẹ́ olùkọ́ni, ẹ tún wà ní ẹni tí ẹnìkan yóò máa kọ́ ni ìbẹ̀rẹ̀ ìpìlẹ̀ ẹ̀kọ́ àwọn ọ̀rọ̀ Ọlọ́run, ẹ sì tún di irú àwọn tí ó mu wàrà, tí wọn kò sì fẹ́ oúnjẹ líle.
For when for the time all of you ought to be teachers, all of you have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong food.
13 Nítorí olúkúlùkù ẹni tí ń mu wàrà jẹ́ aláìlóye ọ̀rọ̀ òdodo, nítorí ọmọ ọwọ́ ni.
For every one that uses milk is unskillful in the word (logos) of righteousness: for he is a babe.
14 Ṣùgbọ́n oúnjẹ líle wà fún àwọn tí ó dàgbà, àwọn ẹni nípa ìrírí, tí wọn ń lo ọgbọ́n wọn láti fi ìyàtọ̀ sáàrín rere àti búburú.
But strong food belongs to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
