< Hebrews 3 >
1 Nítorí náà ẹ̀yin ará mímọ́, alábápín ìpè ọ̀run, ẹ gba ti aposteli àti olórí àlùfáà ìjẹ́wọ́ wa rò, àní Jesu;
Therefore, holy brothers, sharers in the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession: Jesus.
2 ẹni tí o ṣe olóòtítọ́ si ẹni tí ó yàn án, bí Mose pẹ̀lú tí ṣe olóòtítọ́ nínú iṣẹ́ rẹ̀ gbogbo nínú ilé Ọlọ́run.
He is faithful to the One who made him, just as Moses also was, with his entire house.
3 Nítorí a ka ọkùnrin yìí ni yíyẹ sí ògo ju Mose lọ níwọ̀n bí ẹni tí ó kọ́ ilé ti lọ́lá ju ilé lọ.
For this Jesus was considered worthy of greater glory than Moses, so much so that the house which he has built holds a greater honor than the former one.
4 Láti ọwọ́ ènìyàn kan ni a sá à ti kọ́ olúkúlùkù ilé; ṣùgbọ́n ẹni tí ó kọ́ ohun gbogbo ni Ọlọ́run.
For every house is built by someone, but God is the One who has created all things.
5 Mose nítòótọ́ sì ṣe olóòtítọ́ nínú gbogbo iṣẹ́ rẹ̀ nínú ilé Ọlọ́run, bí ìránṣẹ́, fún ẹ̀rí ohun tí a ó sọ̀rọ̀ wọ́n ní ìgbà ìkẹyìn.
And certainly Moses was faithful, with his entire house, like any servant, as a testimony to those things that would soon be said.
6 Ṣùgbọ́n Kristi jẹ́ olóòtítọ́ gẹ́gẹ́ bí ọmọ lórí ilé Ọlọ́run; ilé ẹni tí àwa jẹ́, bí àwa bá gbẹ́kẹ̀lé e, tí a sì di ìṣògo ìrètí wa mu ṣinṣin títí dé òpin.
Yet truly, Christ is like a Son in his own house. We are that house, if we firmly retain the faithfulness and the glory of hope, even unto the end.
7 Nítorí náà gẹ́gẹ́ bi Ẹ̀mí Mímọ́ tí wí: “Lónìí bí ẹ̀yin bá gbọ́ ohùn rẹ̀,
Because of this, it is just as the Holy Spirit says: “If today you hear his voice,
8 ẹ má ṣe sé ọkàn yín le, bí ìgbà ìṣọ̀tẹ̀, bí i ní ọjọ́ ìdánwò ní aginjù,
harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, the very day of temptation, in the desert,
9 níbi tí àwọn baba yín ti dán mi wò, tí wọ́n sì rí iṣẹ́ mi ní ogójì ọdún.
where your fathers tested me, even though they had seen and examined my works for forty years.
10 Nítorí náà a mú inú bí mi si ìran náà, mo sì wí pé, ‘Nígbà gbogbo ni wọn ṣìnà ní ọkàn wọn; wọn kò sì mọ ọ̀nà mi.’
For this reason, I was enraged against this generation, and I said: They always wander astray in heart. For they have not known my ways.
11 Bí mo tí búra nínú ìbínú mi, ‘Wọn kí yóò wọ inú ìsinmi mi.’”
So it is as I swore in my wrath: They shall not enter into my rest!”
12 Ẹ kíyèsára, ará, kí ọkàn búburú ti àìgbàgbọ́ má ṣe wà nínú ẹnikẹ́ni yín, ní lílọ kúrò lọ́dọ̀ Ọlọ́run alààyè.
Be cautious, brothers, lest perhaps there may be, in any of you, an evil heart of unbelief, turning aside from the living God.
13 Ṣùgbọ́n ẹ máa gba ara yín ní ìyànjú ní ojoojúmọ́, níwọ̀n ìgbà tí a bá ń pè ní “Òní,” kí a má ba à sé ọkàn ẹnikẹ́ni nínú yín le nípa ẹ̀tàn ẹ̀ṣẹ̀.
Instead, exhort one another every day, while it is still called ‘today,’ so that none of you may become hardened through the falseness of sin.
14 Nítorí àwa di alábápín pẹ̀lú Kristi, bí àwa bá di ìpilẹ̀ṣẹ̀ ìgbẹ́kẹ̀lé wa mú ṣinṣin títí dé òpin.
For we have been made participants in Christ. This is only so, if we firmly retain the beginning of his substance, even unto the end.
15 Nígbà tí a ń wí pé, “Lónìí bí ẹ̀yin bá gbọ́ ohùn rẹ̀, ẹ má sé ọkàn yin le, bí ìgbà ìṣọ̀tẹ̀.”
For it has been said: “If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts, in the same manner as in the former provocation.”
16 Àwọn ta ni ó gbọ́ tí ó sì tún ṣọ̀tẹ̀? Kì í ha ṣe gbogbo àwọn tí o jáde kúrò ní Ejibiti ní abẹ́ àkóso Mose?
For some of those listening did provoke him. But not all of these had set forth from Egypt through Moses.
17 Àwọn ta ni ó sì bínú sí fún ogójì ọdún? Kì í ha ṣe sí àwọn tí ó dẹ́ṣẹ̀, òkú àwọn tí ó sùn ní aginjù?
So against whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not those who had sinned, whose dead bodies lay prostrate in the desert?
18 Àwọn wo ni ó búra fún pé wọn kì yóò wọ inú ìsinmi òun, bí kò ṣe fún àwọn tí ó ṣe àìgbọ́ràn?
But to whom did he swear that they would not enter into his rest, except to those who were incredulous?
19 Àwa sì rí i pé wọn kò lè wọ inú rẹ̀ nítorí àìgbàgbọ́.
And so, we perceive that they were not able to enter because of unbelief.
