< Hebrews 12 >
1 Nítorí náà bí a ti fi ìkùùkuu àwọsánmọ̀ tí o kún fún àwọn ẹlẹ́rìí tó báyìí yí wa ká, ẹ jẹ́ kí a pa ohun ìdíwọ́ gbogbo tì sí apá kan, àti ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ tí o rọrùn láti di mọ́ wa, kí a sì máa fi sùúrù súré ìje tí a gbé ka iwájú wa,
WHEREFORE seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 kí a máa wo Jesu Olùpilẹ̀ṣẹ̀ àti aláṣepé ìgbàgbọ́ wa; ẹni nítorí ayọ̀ tí a gbé ka iwájú rẹ, tí o faradà àgbélébùú láìka ìtìjú sí, tí ó sì jókòó lọ́wọ́ ọ̀tún ìtẹ́ Ọlọ́run.
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3 Máa ro ti ẹni tí ó faradà irú ìsọ̀rọ̀-òdì yìí láti ọ̀dọ̀ àwọn ẹlẹ́ṣẹ̀ si ara rẹ̀, kí ẹ má ba á rẹ̀wẹ̀sì ni ọkàn yín, kí àárẹ̀ si mu yín.
For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
4 Ẹ̀yin kò sá à tí ì kọ ojú ìjà si ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ títí dé títa ẹ̀jẹ̀ yín sílẹ̀ nínú ìjàkadì yín.
Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.
5 Ẹ̀yin sì ti gbàgbé ọ̀rọ̀ ìyànjú tí ó n ba yin sọ̀rọ̀ bí ọmọ pé, “Ọmọ mi, ma ṣe aláìnání ìbáwí Olúwa, kí o má sì ṣe rẹ̀wẹ̀sì nígbà tí a bá ń ti ọwọ́ rẹ̀ ba ọ wí,
And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
6 nítorí pé ẹni ti Olúwa fẹ́, òun ni i bá wí, a sì máa na olúkúlùkù ọmọ tí òun tẹ́wọ́gbà.”
For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
7 Ẹ máa ní sùúrù lábẹ́ ìbáwí, Ọlọ́run bá wa lò bí ọmọ ni; nítorí pé ọmọ wo ni ń bẹ ti baba kì í bá wí?
If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
8 Ṣùgbọ́n bí ẹ̀yin ba wà láìsí ìbáwí, nínú èyí tí gbogbo ènìyàn ti jẹ alábápín, ǹjẹ́ ọmọ àlè ni yín, ẹ kì í sì ṣe ọmọ.
But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
9 Pẹ̀lúpẹ̀lú àwa ni baba wa nípa ti ara tí o ń tọ́ wa, àwa sì ń bu ọlá fún wọn: kò ha yẹ kí a kúkú tẹríba fún Baba àwọn ẹ̀mí, kí a sì yè?
Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
10 Nítorí wọ́n tọ́ wa fún ọjọ́ díẹ̀ bí o bá ti dára lójú wọn; ṣùgbọ́n Òun tọ́ wa fún èrè wa, kí àwa lè ṣe alábápín ìwà mímọ́ rẹ̀.
For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.
11 Gbogbo ìbáwí kò dàbí ohun ayọ̀ nísinsin yìí bí kò ṣe ìbànújẹ́; ṣùgbọ́n níkẹyìn yóò so èso àlàáfíà fún àwọn tí a tọ́ nípa rẹ̀, àní èso òdodo.
Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
12 Nítorí náà, ẹ na ọwọ́ tí ó rọ, àti eékún àìlera,
Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;
13 “Kí ẹ sì ṣe ipa ọ̀nà tí ó tọ́ fún ẹsẹ̀ yin,” kí èyí tí ó rọ má bá a kúrò lórí ike ṣùgbọ́n kí a kúkú wò ó sàn.
And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.
14 Ẹ máa lépa àlàáfíà pẹ̀lú ènìyàn gbogbo, àti ìwà mímọ́, láìsí èyí yìí kò sí ẹni tí yóò rí Olúwa.
Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
15 Ẹ máa kíyèsára kí ẹnikẹ́ni má ṣe kùnà Oore-ọ̀fẹ́ Ọlọ́run; kí gbòǹgbò ìkorò kan máa ba hù sókè kí ó sì yọ yín lẹ́nu, ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ a sì ti ipa rẹ̀ di àìmọ́.
Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;
16 Kí o má bá à si àgbèrè kan tàbí aláìwà-bí-Ọlọ́run bi Esau, ẹni tí o tìtorí òkèlè oúnjẹ kan ta ogún ìbí rẹ̀.
Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.
17 Nítorí ẹ̀yin mọ pé lẹ́yìn náà, nígbà tí ó fẹ́ láti jogún ìbùkún náà, a kọ̀ ọ́, nítorí kò ri ààyè ìrònúpìwàdà, bí o tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé ó fi omijé wa a gidigidi.
For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.
18 Nítorí ẹ̀yin kò wá òkè tí a lè fi ọwọ́ kàn, àti ti iná ti ń jó, àti ti ìṣúdudu àti òkùnkùn, àti ìjì.
For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest,
19 Àti ìró ìpè, àti ohùn ọ̀rọ̀, èyí tí àwọn tí o gbọ́ bẹ̀bẹ̀ pé, kí a má ṣe sọ ọ̀rọ̀ sí i fún wọn mọ́,
And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more:
20 nítorí pé wọn kò lè gba ohun tí ó paláṣẹ, “Bí o tilẹ̀ jẹ ẹranko ni ó fi ara kan òkè náà, a ó sọ ọ́ ni òkúta.”
(For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart:
21 Ìran náà sì lẹ́rù to bẹ́ẹ̀ tí Mose wí pé, “Ẹ̀rù ba mi gidigidi mo sì wárìrì.”
And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake: )
22 Ṣùgbọ́n ẹ̀yin wá sí òkè Sioni, àti sí ìlú Ọlọ́run alààyè, ti Jerusalẹmu ti ọ̀run, àti si ẹgbẹ́ àwọn angẹli àìníye,
But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
23 si àjọ ńlá tí ìjọ àkọ́bí tí a ti kọ orúkọ wọn ni ọ̀run, àti sọ́dọ̀ Ọlọ́run onídàájọ́ gbogbo ènìyàn, àti sọ́dọ̀ àwọn ẹ̀mí olóòtítọ́ ènìyàn tí a ṣe ni àṣepé,
To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
24 àti sọ́dọ̀ Jesu alárinà májẹ̀mú tuntun, àti si ibi ẹ̀jẹ̀ ìbùwọ́n ni, ti ń sọ̀rọ̀ ohun tí ó dára ju ti Abeli lọ.
And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
25 Kíyèsi i, kí ẹ má ṣe kọ̀ ẹni tí ń kìlọ̀. Nítorí bí àwọn wọ̀nyí kò bá bọ́ nígbà tí wọn kọ̀ ẹni ti ń kìlọ̀ ni ayé, mélòó mélòó ni àwa kì yóò bọ́, bí àwa ba pẹ̀yìndà sí ẹni tí ń kìlọ̀ láti ọ̀run wá,
See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:
26 ohùn ẹni tí ó mi ayé nígbà náà, ṣùgbọ́n nísinsin yìí o ti ṣe ìlérí, wí pé, “Lẹ́ẹ̀kan sí i èmi ki yóò mi kìkì ayé nìkan, ṣùgbọ́n ọ̀run pẹ̀lú.”
Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.
27 Àti ọ̀rọ̀ yìí, “Lẹ́ẹ̀kan sí i,” ìtumọ̀ rẹ̀ ni, mímú àwọn ohun wọ̀nyí ti a ń mì kúrò, bí ohun tí a ti dá, kí àwọn ohun tí a kò lè mì lè wà síbẹ̀.
And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.
28 Nítorí náà bí àwa tí ń gbà ilẹ̀ ọba ti a kò lè mì, ẹ jẹ́ kí a dá ọpẹ́ nípa èyí ti a fi lè máa sin Ọlọ́run ni ìtẹ́wọ́gbà pẹ̀lú ọ̀wọ̀ àti ìbẹ̀rù rẹ̀.
Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
29 Nítorí pé, “Ọlọ́run wa, iná ti ń jó ni run ni.”
For our God is a consuming fire.
