Genesis 30

1 Nígbà tí Rakeli rí i pe òun kò bímọ, ó bẹ̀rẹ̀ sí ṣe ìlara sí Lea, arábìnrin rẹ̀, ó sì wí fún Jakọbu pé, “Fún mi lọ́mọ, bí kò ṣe bẹ́ẹ̀, èmi ó kú!”

And Rachel seeth that she hath not borne to Jacob, and Rachel is envious of her sister, and saith unto Jacob, 'Give me sons, and if there is none — I die.'

2 Inú sì bí Jakọbu sí i, ó sì wí pé, “Èmi ha wà ní ipò Ọlọ́run, ẹni tí ó mú ọ yàgàn bí?”

And Jacob's anger burneth against Rachel, and he saith, 'Am I in stead of God who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb?'

3 Nígbà náà ni Rakeli wí pé, “Biliha ìránṣẹ́bìnrin mi nìyìí, bá a lòpọ̀, kí ó ba à le bí ọmọ fún mi, kí èmi si le è tipasẹ̀ rẹ̀ ní ọmọ.”

And she saith, 'Lo, my handmaid Bilhah, go in unto her, and she doth bear on my knees, and I am built up, even I, from her;'

4 Báyìí ni Rakeli fi Biliha fún Jakọbu ní aya, ó sì bá a lòpọ̀.

and she giveth to him Bilhah her maid-servant for a wife, and Jacob goeth in unto her;

5 Biliha sì lóyún, ó sì bí ọmọkùnrin kan fún Jakọbu.

and Bilhah conceiveth, and beareth to Jacob a son,

6 Rakeli sì wí pé, “Ọlọ́run ti ṣe ìdájọ́ mi; ó sì ti gbọ́ ohùn ẹ̀bẹ̀ mi, ó sì fún mi ni ọmọkùnrin kan.” Nítorí ìdí èyí ni ó ṣe pe orúkọ rẹ̀ ní Dani.

and Rachel saith, 'God hath decided for me, and also hath hearkened to my voice, and giveth to me a son;' therefore hath she called his name Dan.

7 Biliha, ọmọ ọ̀dọ̀ Rakeli sì tún lóyún, ó sì bí ọmọkùnrin kejì fún Jakọbu.

And Bilhah, Rachel's maid-servant, conceiveth again, and beareth a second son to Jacob,

8 Nígbà náà ni Rakeli wí pé, “Mo ti bá ẹ̀gbọ́n mi ja ìjàkadì ńlá, èmi sì ti borí.” Ó sì pe orúkọ rẹ̀ ní Naftali.

and Rachel saith, 'With wrestlings of God I have wrestled with my sister, yea, I have prevailed;' and she calleth his name Napthali.

9 Nígbà tí Lea sì ri pé òun ko tún lóyún mọ́, ó sì fi ọmọ ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ̀ obìnrin, Silipa fún Jakọbu bí aya.

And Leah seeth that she hath ceased from bearing, and she taketh Zilpah her maid-servant, and giveth her to Jacob for a wife;

10 Silipa ọmọ ọ̀dọ̀ Lea sì bí ọmọkùnrin kan fún Jakọbu.

and Zilpah, Leah's maid-servant, beareth to Jacob a son,

11 Nígbà náà ni Lea wí pé, “Orí rere ni èyí!” Ó sì pe orúkọ rẹ̀ ní Gadi.

and Leah saith, 'A troop is coming;' and she calleth his name Gad.

12 Silipa ọmọ ọ̀dọ̀ Lea sì tún bí ọmọkùnrin kejì fún Jakọbu.

And Zilpah, Leah's maid-servant, beareth a second son to Jacob,

13 Nígbà náà ni Lea wí pé, “Mo ní ayọ̀ gidigidi! Àwọn ọmọbìnrin yóò sì máa pe mí ní Alábùkún fún.” Ó sì pe orúkọ rẹ̀ ní Aṣeri.

and Leah saith, 'Because of my happiness, for daughters have pronounced me happy;' and she calleth his name Asher.

14 Ní ọjọ́ kan, ní àkókò ìkórè ọkà jéró, Reubeni jáde lọ sí oko, ó sì rí èso mándrákì, ó sì mú un tọ Lea ìyá rẹ̀ wá. Rakeli sì wí fún Lea pé, “Jọ̀wọ́ fún mi ní ara èso mándrákì tí ọmọ rẹ mú wá.”

And Reuben goeth in the days of wheat-harvest, and findeth love-apples in the field, and bringeth them in unto Leah, his mother, and Rachel saith unto Leah, 'Give to me, I pray thee, of the love-apples of thy son.'

15 Ṣùgbọ́n Lea dalóhùn pé, “Ọkọ mi tí o gbà kò tó kọ́? Ṣe ìwọ yóò tún gba èso mándrákì ọmọ mi pẹ̀lú?” Rakeli sì dáhùn pé, “Ó dára, yóò sùn tì ọ́ lálẹ́ yìí nítorí èso mándrákì ọmọ rẹ.”

And she saith to her, 'Is thy taking my husband a little thing, that thou hast taken also the love-apples of my son?' and Rachel saith, 'Therefore doth he lie with thee to-night, for thy son's love-apples.'

16 Nítorí náà, nígbà tí Jakọbu ti oko dé ní ìrọ̀lẹ́ ọjọ́ náà, Lea jáde lọ pàdé rẹ̀, ó sì wí pé, “O ní láti sun ọ̀dọ̀ mi ní alẹ́ yìí nítorí mo ti fi èso mándrákì tí ọmọ mi wá bẹ̀ ọ́ lọ́wẹ̀.” Nítorí náà ni Jakọbu sùn tì í ní alẹ́ ọjọ́ náà.

And Jacob cometh in from the field at evening; and Leah goeth to meet him, and saith, 'Unto me dost thou come in, for hiring I have hired thee with my son's love-apples;' and he lieth with her during that night.

17 Ọlọ́run sì gbọ́ ti Lea, ó sì lóyún, ó sì bí ọmọkùnrin karùn-ún fún Jakọbu.

And God hearkeneth unto Leah, and she conceiveth, and beareth to Jacob a son, a fifth,

18 Nígbà náà ni Lea wí pé, “Ọlọ́run ti sẹ̀san ọmọ ọ̀dọ̀ mi ti mo fi fún ọkọ mi fún mi,” ó sì pe orúkọ rẹ̀ ní Isakari.

and Leah saith, 'God hath given my hire, because I have given my maid-servant to my husband;' and she calleth his name Issachar.

19 Lea sì tún lóyún, ó sì bí ọmọkùnrin kẹfà fún Jakọbu.

And conceive again doth Leah, and she beareth a sixth son to Jacob,

20 Nígbà náà ni Lea tún wí pé “Ọlọ́run ti fún mi ní ẹ̀bùn iyebíye, nígbà yìí ni ọkọ mi yóò máa bu ọlá fún mi.” Nítorí náà ni ó ṣe pe orúkọ rẹ̀ ni Sebuluni.

and Leah saith, 'God hath endowed me — a good dowry; this time doth my husband dwell with me, for I have borne to him six sons;' and she calleth his name Zebulun;

21 Lẹ́yìn èyí, ó sì bí ọmọbìnrin kan, ó sì pe orúkọ rẹ̀ ní Dina.

and afterwards hath she born a daughter, and calleth her name Dinah.

22 Nígbà náà ni Ọlọ́run rántí Rakeli, Ọlọ́run sì gbọ́ tirẹ̀, ó sì ṣí i ní inú.

And God remembereth Rachel, and God hearkeneth unto her, and openeth her womb,

23 Ó lóyún, ó sì bí ọmọkùnrin kan ó sì wí pé, “Ọlọ́run ti mú ẹ̀gàn mi kúrò.”

and she conceiveth and beareth a son, and saith, 'God hath gathered up my reproach;'

24 Ó sì pe orúkọ rẹ̀ ni Josẹfu, ó sì wí pé, “Ǹjẹ́ kí Olúwa kí ó fi ọmọkùnrin mìíràn kún un fún mi.”

and she calleth his name Joseph, saying, 'Jehovah is adding to me another son.'

25 Lẹ́yìn tí Rakeli ti bí Josẹfu, Jakọbu wí fún Labani pé, “Jẹ́ kí èmi máa lọ sí ilẹ̀ mi tí mo ti wá.

And it cometh to pass, when Rachel hath borne Joseph, that Jacob saith unto Laban, 'Send me away, and I go unto my place, and to my land;

26 Kó àwọn ọmọ àti ìyàwó mi fún mi, àwọn ẹni tí mo ti torí wọn sìn ọ́. Ki èmi lè máa bá ọ̀nà mi lọ. O sá à mọ bí mo ti ṣiṣẹ́ sìn ọ́ tó.”

give up my wives and my children, for whom I have served thee, and I go; for thou — thou hast known my service which I have served thee.'

27 Ṣùgbọ́n Labani wí fún un pé, “Bí o bá ṣe pé mo rí ojúrere rẹ, jọ̀wọ́ dúró, nítorí, mo ti ṣe àyẹ̀wò rẹ, mo sì rí i pé Olúwa bùkún mi nítorí rẹ.

And Laban saith unto him, 'If, I pray thee, I have found grace in thine eyes — I have observed diligently that Jehovah doth bless me for thy sake.'

28 Sọ ohun tí o fẹ́ gẹ́gẹ́ bí owó iṣẹ́ ẹ̀ rẹ, èmi yóò sì san án.”

He saith also, 'Define thy hire to me, and I give.'

29 Jakọbu sì wí fún un pé, “Ìwọ sá à mọ bí mo ti ṣiṣẹ́ sìn ọ́ àti bí ẹran ọ̀sìn rẹ ti pọ̀ si lábẹ́ ìtọ́jú mi.

And he saith unto him, 'Thou — thou hast known that which I have served thee [in], and that which thy substance was with me;

30 Ìwọ̀nba díẹ̀ sá à ni o ní kí èmi tó dé, ó sì ti pọ̀ sí i gidigidi, Olúwa sì ti bùkún ọ nínú gbogbo èyí tí mo ṣe. Ṣùgbọ́n nísinsin yìí, nígbà wo ní èmi yóò pèsè fún ìdílé tèmi.”

for [it is] little which thou hast had at my appearance, and it breaketh forth into a multitude, and Jehovah blesseth thee at my coming; and now, when do I make, I also, for mine own house?'

31 Ó sì tún béèrè wí pé, “Kín ni kí èmi ó fi fún ọ?” Jakọbu dáhùn pé, “Má fun mi ni ohunkóhun, ṣùgbọ́n bí ìwọ yóò bá ṣe ohun tí mo fẹ́ sọ yìí, èmi yóò sì máa bá ọ tọ́jú àwọn agbo ẹran rẹ, èmi yóò sì máa bọ́ wọn.

And he saith, 'What do I give to thee?' And Jacob saith, 'Thou dost not give me anything; if thou do for me this thing, I turn back; I have delight; thy flock I watch;

32 Jẹ́ kí èmi kí ó la agbo ẹran kọjá ní òní, èmi yóò sì mú gbogbo àgùntàn onílà àti èyí tí ó ní àmì, àti gbogbo àgbò dúdú pẹ̀lú ewúrẹ́ onílà tàbí tí ó ní àmì. Àwọn wọ̀nyí ni yóò dúró fún owó iṣẹ́ mi.

I pass through all thy flock to-day to turn aside from thence every sheep speckled and spotted, and every brown sheep among the lambs, and speckled and spotted among the goats — and it hath been my hire;

33 Òtítọ́ inú mi yóò sì jẹ́rìí fún mi ní ọjọ́ iwájú nígbà tí ìwọ bá wo owó iṣẹ́ mi tí ìwọ san fún mi, yóò sì ṣe pé gbogbo èyí tí kì í bá ṣe onílà tàbí alámì nínú ewúrẹ́ tàbí tí kì í ṣe dúdú nínú àgùntàn, tí o bá rí ni ọ̀dọ̀ mi ni kí o kà sí mi lọ́rùn pé jíjí ni mo jí gbé.”

and my righteousness hath answered for me in the day to come, when it cometh in for my hire before thy face; — every one which is not speckled and spotted among [my] goats, and brown among [my] lambs — it is stolen with me.'

34 Labani sì dáhùn pé, “Mo fi ara mọ́ ọn, ṣe bí ìwọ ti wí.”

And Laban saith, 'Lo, O that it were according to thy word;'

35 Ní ọjọ́ náà gan an ni Labani kó gbogbo ewúrẹ́ tí ó ní àmì tàbí ilà (àti òbúkọ àti abo, tí ó ní funfun díẹ̀ lára), pẹ̀lú gbogbo àgùntàn dúdú, ó sì fi wọ́n sí ìtọ́jú àwọn ọmọ rẹ̀.

and he turneth aside during that day the ring-streaked and the spotted he-goats, and all the speckled and the spotted she-goats, every one that [hath] white in it, and every brown one among the lambs, and he giveth into the hand of his sons,

36 Ibi tí Labani àti Jakọbu sì wà sí ara wọn, sì tó ìrìn ọjọ́ mẹ́ta. Jakọbu sì ń tọ́jú agbo ẹran Labani tí ó kù.

and setteth a journey of three days between himself and Jacob; and Jacob is feeding the rest of the flock of Laban.

37 Nígbà náà ni Jakọbu gé ọ̀pá tẹ́ẹ́rẹ́ tútù kan lára igi Poplari, àti igi almondi àti igi Pileeni. Ó sì bó èèpo kúrò ní ibi kọ̀ọ̀kan lára igi náà láti fún igi náà ní àwọ̀ ju ẹyọ kan lọ.

And Jacob taketh to himself a rod of fresh poplar, and of the hazel and chesnut, and doth peel in them white peelings, making bare the white that [is] on the rods,

38 Ó sì mú àwọn ọ̀pá wọ̀nyí tì sí ọ̀ọ́kán agbada omi níbi tí àwọn ẹran ti lè rí i nígbà tí wọ́n bá wá mu omi.

and setteth up the rods which he hath peeled in the gutters in the watering troughs (when the flock cometh in to drink), over-against the flock, that they may conceive in their coming in to drink;

39 Tí àwọn ẹran bá sì ń gùn, níwájú àwọn ọ̀pá náà, wọn sì bí àwọn ẹran onílà àti alámì, àwọn tí ó ní tótòtó lára.

and the flocks conceive at the rods, and the flock beareth ring-streaked, speckled, and spotted ones.

40 Nígbà náà ni ó ya àwọn abo ẹran kúrò nínú agbo ẹran Labani, ó sì yà wọ́n sọ́tọ̀ kúrò lára àgbò, ó sì mú kí wọn máa gùn pẹ̀lú àwọn àgbò Jakọbu dúdú nìkan, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ó kó agbo ẹran jọ fún ara rẹ̀ láti ara agbo ẹran Labani.

And the lambs hath Jacob parted, and he putteth the face of the flock towards the ring-streaked, also all the brown in the flock of Laban, and he setteth his own droves by themselves, and hath not set them near Laban's flock.

41 Nígbàkígbà tí àwọn ẹran tí ó lera bá ń gùn, Jakọbu yóò fi àwọn ọ̀pá wọ̀nyí lélẹ̀ níwájú wọn, ní ibi tí wọn ti ń mu omi.

And it hath come to pass whenever the strong ones of the flock conceive, that Jacob set the rods before the eyes of the flock in the gutters, to cause them to conceive by the rods,

42 Ṣùgbọ́n tí ó bá jẹ́ wí pé wọn kò lera, kò ní fi àwọn ọ̀pá náà lélẹ̀. Nítorí náà, àwọn tí kò lera ń jẹ́ ti Labani, nígbà tí àwọn tí ó lera ń jẹ́ ti Jakọbu.

and when the flock is feeble, he doth not set [them]; and the feeble ones have been Laban's, and the strong ones Jacob's.

43 Nítorí ìdí èyí, Jakọbu di ọlọ́rọ̀ gidigidi, agbo ẹran rẹ̀ pọ̀ àti àwọn ìránṣẹ́kùnrin, ìránṣẹ́bìnrin pẹ̀lú ìbákasẹ àti kẹ́tẹ́kẹ́tẹ́.

And the man increaseth very exceedingly, and hath many flocks, and maid-servants, and men-servants, and camels, and asses.
