Galatians 2

1 Lẹ́yìn ọdún mẹ́rìnlá, ni mo tún gòkè lọ sì Jerusalẹmu pẹ̀lú Barnaba, mo sì mú Titu lọ pẹ̀lú mi.

THEN fourteen years after I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus with me also.

2 Mo gòkè lọ nípa ohun ti a fihàn mi, mo fi ìyìnrere náà tí mo ń wàásù láàrín àwọn aláìkọlà yé àwọn tí ó jẹ́ ẹni ńlá nínú wọn, èyí i nì ní ìkọ̀kọ̀, kí èmi kí ó má ba á sáré, tàbí kí ó máa ba à jẹ́ pé mo ti sáré lásán.

And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain.

3 Ṣùgbọ́n a kò fi agbára mú Titu tí ó wà pẹ̀lú mi, ẹni tí í ṣe ara Giriki láti kọlà.

But neither Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised:

4 Ọ̀rọ̀ yìí wáyé nítorí àwọn èké arákùnrin tí wọn yọ́ wọ inú àárín wa láti yọ́ òmìnira wa wò, èyí tí àwa ni nínú Kristi Jesu, kí wọn lè mú wa wá sínú ìdè.

And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:

5 Àwọn ẹni ti a kò fún ni àǹfààní láti gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ wọn fún ìṣẹ́jú kan; kí ẹ̀yin kí o lè máa tẹ̀síwájú nínú òtítọ́ ìyìnrere náà.

To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.

6 Ṣùgbọ́n ní ti àwọn tí ó dàbí ẹni pàtàkì—ohunkóhun tí ó wù kì wọn jásí, kò jẹ́ nǹkan kan fún mi; Ọlọ́run kò fi bí ẹnikẹ́ni ṣe rí ṣe ìdájọ́ rẹ̀—àwọn ènìyàn yìí kò fi ohunkóhun kún ọ̀rọ̀ mi.

But of these who seemed to be somewhat, (whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth no man’s person: ) for they who seemed to be somewhat in conference added nothing to me:

7 Ṣùgbọ́n kàkà bẹ́ẹ̀, nígbà tí wọn rí i pé a tí fi ìyìnrere tí àwọn aláìkọlà le mi lọ́wọ́, bí a tí fi ìyìnrere tí àwọn onílà lé Peteru lọ́wọ́.

But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter;

8 Nítorí Ọlọ́run, ẹni tí ó ṣiṣẹ́ nínú iṣẹ́ ìránṣẹ́ Peteru gẹ́gẹ́ bí aposteli sí àwọn Júù, òun kan náà ni ó ṣiṣẹ́ nínú iṣẹ́ ìránṣẹ́ mi gẹ́gẹ́ bí aposteli sí àwọn aláìkọlà.

(For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles: )

9 Jakọbu, Peteru, àti Johanu, àwọn ẹni tí ó dàbí ọ̀wọ́n, fún èmi àti Barnaba ni ọwọ́ ọ̀tún ìdàpọ̀ nígbà tí wọ́n rí oore-ọ̀fẹ́ tí a fi fún mi, wọ́n sì gbà pé kí àwa náà tọ àwọn aláìkọlà lọ, nígbà ti àwọn náà lọ sọ́dọ̀ àwọn Júù.

And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.

10 Ohun gbogbo tí wọ́n béèrè fún ni wí pé, kí a máa rántí àwọn tálákà, ohun kan náà gan an tí mo ń làkàkà láti ṣe.

Only they would that we should remember the poor; the same which I also was forward to do.

11 Ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí Peteru wá sí Antioku, mo takò ó lójú ara rẹ̀, nítorí tí ó jẹ̀bi, mo sì bá a wí.

But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed.

12 Nítorí pé kí àwọn kan tí ó ti ọ̀dọ̀ Jakọbu wá tó dé, ó ti ń ba àwọn aláìkọlà jẹun; ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí wọ́n dé, ó fàsẹ́yìn, ó sì ya ara rẹ̀ sọ́tọ̀ kúrò lọ́dọ̀ àwọn aláìkọlà nítorí ó bẹ̀rù àwọn ti ó kọlà.

For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision.

13 Àwọn Júù tí ó kù pawọ́pọ̀ pẹ̀lú rẹ̀ láti jùmọ̀ ṣe àgàbàgebè, tó bẹ́ẹ̀ tí wọn sì fi àgàbàgebè wọn si Barnaba lọ́nà.

And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation.

14 Nígbà tí mo rí i pé wọn kò rìn déédé gẹ́gẹ́ bí òtítọ́ ìyìnrere, mo wí fún Peteru níwájú gbogbo wọn pé, “Bí ìwọ, tí ì ṣe Júù ba ń rìn gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìwà àwọn kèfèrí, èéṣe tí ìwọ fi ń fi agbára mu àwọn kèfèrí láti máa rìn bí àwọn Júù?

But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?

15 “Àwa tí i ṣe Júù nípa ìbí, tí kì i sí ì ṣe aláìkọlà ẹlẹ́ṣẹ̀,

We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles,

16 tí a mọ̀ pé a kò dá ẹnikẹ́ni láre nípa iṣẹ́ òfin, bí kò ṣe nípa ìgbàgbọ́ nínú Jesu Kristi, àní àwa pẹ̀lú gbà Jesu Kristi gbọ́, kí a bá a lè dá wa láre nípa ìgbàgbọ́ tí Kristi, kì í sì i ṣe nípa iṣẹ́ òfin, nítorí pé nípa iṣẹ́ òfin kò sí ènìyàn kan tí a ó dá láre.

Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

17 “Ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí àwa bá ń wá ọ̀nà láti rí ìdáláre nípa Kristi, ó di ẹ̀rí wí pé àwa pẹ̀lú jẹ́ ẹlẹ́ṣẹ̀, ǹjẹ́ èyí ha jásí wí pé Kristi ń ṣe ìránṣẹ́ ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ bí? Kí a má rí ì!

But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.

18 Nítorí pé bí mo bá sì tún gbé àwọn ohun tí mo tí wó palẹ̀ ró, mo fi ara mi hàn bí arúfin.

For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.

19 “Nítorí pé nípa òfin, mo tí di òkú sí òfin, kí èmi lè wà láààyè sí Ọlọ́run.

For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.

20 A ti kàn mí mọ́ àgbélébùú pẹ̀lú Kristi, èmí kò sì wà láààyè mọ́, ṣùgbọ́n Kristi ń gbé inú mi wíwà tí mo sì wà láààyè nínú ara, mo wà láààyè nínú ìgbàgbọ́ Ọmọ Ọlọ́run, ẹni tí o fẹ́ mi, tí ó sì fi òun tìkára rẹ̀ fún mi.

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

21 Èmi kò ya oore-ọ̀fẹ́ Ọlọ́run sí apá kan, nítorí pé bí a bá le ti ipasẹ̀ òfin jèrè òdodo, a jẹ́ pé Kristi kú lásán.”

I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
