< Ezekiel 3 >
1 Síwájú sí i, ó sọ fún mi pé, “Ọmọ ènìyàn, jẹ ohun tí ó wà níwájú rẹ, jẹ ìwé kíká yìí; kí o sì lọ fi bá ilé Israẹli sọ̀rọ̀.”
He said to me, “You human, eat this scroll that is in front of you. Then go and speak to the Israeli people [MTY].”
2 Mo sì ya ẹnu mi, ó sì mú mi jẹ ìwé kíká náà.
So I opened my mouth, and he gave me the scroll to eat it.
3 Ó tún sọ fún mi pé, “Ọmọ ènìyàn, jẹ ìwé kíká tí mo fún ọ yìí, fi bọ́ inú àti ikùn rẹ.” Nígbà náà ni mo jẹ ẹ́, dídùn rẹ̀ dàbí oyin ní ẹnu mi.
Then he said to me, “You human, eat the scroll that I have given to you. Fill your stomach with it.” So I ate it, and in my mouth it tasted as sweet as honey.
4 Ó sì tún sọ fún mi pé, “Ọmọ ènìyàn, lọ ni ìsinsin yìí bá mi sọ ọ̀rọ̀ mi fún ilé Israẹli.
Then he said to me, “You human, go to the Israeli people [MTY] and tell them my message.
5 A kò rán ọ sí àwọn tó ń sọ èdè àjèjì tàbí tí èdè wọn ṣòro láti gbọ́, ṣùgbọ́n orílẹ̀-èdè Israẹli ni mo rán ọ sí

I am sending you to people whose language you understand very well. If I were sending you to people whose language was difficult for you to understand, they [be surprised and] pay attention to what [say to them].

But the Israeli people do not want to listen to you because they do not want to listen to me. [They do not want to listen because] they are all very stubborn [DOU].
8 Ṣùgbọ́n bí i tiwọn lèmi náà yóò ṣe jẹ́ kí ojú àti ọkàn rẹ le.
But I will enable you [SYN] to be as stubborn and tough as they are.

10 Ó sì sọ fún mi pé, “Ọmọ ènìyàn, gbọ́ gbogbo ọ̀rọ̀ tí mo ń sọ, kí o sì gba gbogbo ọ̀rọ̀ yìí sí ọkàn rẹ.
He also said to me, “You human, listen very carefully to what I say, and keep thinking about it [IDM].
11 Lọ nísinsin yìí sí ọ̀dọ̀ àwọn ènìyàn rẹ tó wà ní ìgbèkùn. Sọ fún wọn pé báyìí ni Olúwa Olódùmarè wí yálà wọ́n gbọ́ tàbí wọn kò gbọ́.”
Go to your fellow Israelis who [here after being] (exiled/forced to leave their country), and speak to them. Say to them, ‘This is what Yahweh the Lord says,’ [and then tell them my message], whether they want to hear it or whether they do not want to hear it.”
12 Nígbà náà ni ẹ̀mí gbé mi sókè, mo sì gbọ́ ohùn ìró ńlá lẹ́yìn mi tó sọ pé, kí a gbé ògo Olúwa ga láti ibùgbé rẹ̀ wá!
[in the vision] the [of God] lifted me up, and I heard behind [someone speaking very loudly], like a loud rumbling sound. [I heard someone say, ] “Praise our glorious Yahweh in the place where he [in heaven]!”
13 Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni mo tún gbọ́ ariwo ìyẹ́ apá àti kẹ̀kẹ́ àwọn ẹ̀dá alààyè náà pẹ̀lú ariwo tó dàbí àrá ńlá.
[I heard] the sound of the wings of the four living creatures brushing against each other, [I also heard] the sound of the wheels that were beside them. It was a loud rumbling sound.
14 Ẹ̀mí náà sì gbé mi sókè, ó sì mú mi lọ, mo lọ pẹ̀lú ọkàn kíkorò àti ìbínú nínú ẹ̀mí mi, pẹ̀lú ọwọ́ líle Olúwa ni ara mi.
The Spirit took me away. Within me I was very bitter and angry [DOU], but I felt Yahweh holding me very powerfully.
I came to the exiles who lived at Tel [town] near the Kebar River/ [south of Babylon]. Then, where they were living, I sat for seven days. I was [about everything that I had seen].
16 Lẹ́yìn ọjọ́ méje, ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa tọ̀ mí wá wí pé,
After those seven days had ended, Yahweh gave me this message:
17 “Ọmọ ènìyàn, mo ti fi ọ́ ṣe olùṣọ́ fún ilé Israẹli; nítorí náà gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ tí mo ń sọ, fún wọn ní ìkìlọ̀ láti ọ̀dọ̀ mi.
“You human, I am appointing [to be like] a watchman [MET] for the Israeli people [MTY]. [So] listen to these messages that I will give you, and tell them those messages to warn them.
18 Bí mo bá sọ fún ènìyàn búburú pé, dájúdájú, ‘Ìwọ yóò kú,’ tí ìwọ kò sì kìlọ̀ fún ènìyàn búburú yìí láti dáwọ́ ìwà ibi rẹ̀ dúró, kí o sì gba ẹ̀mí rẹ̀ là, ènìyàn búburú náà yóò kú nínú ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ rẹ̀, ṣùgbọ́n ní ọwọ́ rẹ ni èmi yóò ti béèrè ẹ̀jẹ̀ rẹ̀.
When I say about some wicked people, ‘They will surely [because of their sins],’ if you do not warn them or tell them that they must turn from their wicked behavior if they want to (save their lives/remain alive), those wicked people will die because of the sins that they have committed, but I will consider that you are responsible for their deaths [MTY].
19 Ṣùgbọ́n bí o bá kìlọ̀ fún ènìyàn búburú, tí ó kọ̀ tí kò fi ìwà búburú rẹ̀ sílẹ̀, yóò kú sínú ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ rẹ̀; ṣùgbọ́n ọrùn tìrẹ ti mọ́.
But if you warn the wicked people and they do not turn from all their wicked behavior [DOU], they will die because of their sins, but you will have saved [from my punishing you].
20 “Bákan náà, bí olódodo kan bá yípadà, tó sì bẹ̀rẹ̀ sí í ṣe àìṣòdodo, tí mo sì fi ohun ìkọ̀sẹ̀ sí ọ̀nà rẹ̀, yóò kú sínú ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ rẹ̀. Nítorí pé ìwọ kọ̀ láti kìlọ̀ fún un, yóò kú sínú ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ rẹ̀, a ó gbàgbé gbogbo ìwà rere tó ti hù tẹ́lẹ̀, ṣùgbọ́n ní ọwọ́ rẹ̀ ni èmi yóò ti béèrè ẹ̀jẹ̀ rẹ̀.
Similarly, when righteous people turn from their righteous behavior and do evil deeds, I will cause bad things to happen [IDM] to them. [But you must warn them. If you do not warn them], and if they do not stop their sinful behavior, they will die because of their sins; I will not think about the righteous things that they [previously], but I will consider that you are responsible for their deaths [MTY].
21 Ṣùgbọ́n bí o bá kìlọ̀ fún olódodo tó sì dáwọ́ ìwà ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ rẹ̀ dúró, dájúdájú òun yóò yè nítorí pé ó ti gba ìkìlọ̀, ọrùn tìrẹ sì mọ́.”
But if you warn righteous people not to sin, and they do not sin, they will surely remain alive because they [your] warning, and you will have saved [from my punishing you].”
22 Ọwọ́ Olúwa wà lára mi níbẹ̀, ó sì wí fún mi pé, “Dìde, lọ sí ibi tí ó tẹ́jú, èmi yóò sì bá ọ sọ̀rọ̀ níbẹ̀.”
[I felt] Yahweh take control [MTY] of me, and he said to me, “Get up and go [from the city down] to the plain/valley, and there I will speak to you.”
23 Mo sì dìde, mo lọ sí ibi tí ó tẹ́jú. Ògo Olúwa dúró níbẹ̀, ó dàbí irú ògo tí mo rí létí odò Kebari, mo sì dojúbolẹ̀.
So I got up and went down to the valley. And I saw the glory of Yahweh there, like the glory that I had seen along the Kebar River/Canal. And I prostrated myself on the ground.
24 Nígbà náà ni Ẹ̀mí wọ inú mi, tí ó sì tún gbé mi dúró. Ó sì wí fún mi pé, “Lọ, ti ara rẹ mọ́ inú ilé rẹ
Then the [of God] entered me and enabled me to stand up. He said to me, “Go into your house and stay inside it.
25 ṣùgbọ́n ìwọ, ọmọ ènìyàn, wọn yóò fi okùn dè ọ́ mọ́lẹ̀; dé ibi pé ìwọ kò ní í le rìn káàkiri láàrín àwọn ènìyàn.
People will tie you with ropes, with the result that you will be unable to go out among the people.
26 Èmi yóò mú kí ahọ́n rẹ lẹ̀ mọ́ àjà ẹnu rẹ, tó bẹ́ẹ̀ ti ìwọ yóò wà ní ìdákẹ́ jẹ́ẹ́. Ìwọ kò sì ní lè bá wọn wí, bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé ọlọ̀tẹ̀ ilé ní wọn.
[Even though] they are very rebellious people, I will cause your tongue to stick to the roof of your mouth, with the result that you will be unable to talk and to rebuke them.
27 Ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí èmi bá bá ọ sọ̀rọ̀, Èmi yóò ṣí ọ lẹ́nu, ìwọ yóò sì sọ fún wọn pé, ‘Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa Olódùmarè wí.’ Ẹni tó bá fẹ́ kí ó gbọ́, ẹni tó bá fẹ́ kọ̀, kó kọ̀ nítorí ọlọ̀tẹ̀ ilé ni wọ́n.
[then] when I speak to [again], I will enable you to talk [MTY], and you will say to them, ‘This is what Yahweh the Lord says,’ [and you will tell them my message]. Those who are willing to [to what you say] will listen, [many] will refuse to listen, because they are rebellious people [MTY].”
