< Esther 5 >

1 Ní ọjọ́ kẹta Esteri wọ aṣọ ayaba rẹ̀ ó sì dúró sí inú àgbàlá ààfin, ní iwájú gbọ̀ngàn ọba, ọba jókòó lórí ìtẹ́ ìjọba rẹ̀ nínú gbọ̀ngàn, ó kọjú sí ẹnu-ọ̀nà ìta.
And it came to pass, on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the house of the king, over against the house of the king, —and, the king, was sitting upon his royal seat, in the royal house, over against the opening of the house.
2 Nígbà tí ó rí ayaba Esteri tí ó dúró nínú àgbàlá, inú rẹ̀ yọ́ sí i, ọba sì na ọ̀pá aládé wúrà ọwọ́ rẹ̀ sí i. Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni Esteri ṣe súnmọ́ ọn ó sì fi ọwọ́ kan orí ọ̀pá náà.
And it came to pass, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his eyes, —and the king held out to Esther, the golden sceptre which was in his hand, so Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.
3 Nígbà náà ni ọba béèrè pé, “Kí ni ó dé, ayaba Esteri? Kí ni o fẹ́? Bí ó tilẹ̀ ṣe títí dé ìdajì ọba mi, àní, a ó fi fún ọ.”
Then said the king unto her, What aileth thee, Queen Esther? and what is thy request? Unto the half of the kingdom, shall it be given thee.
4 Esteri sì dáhùn pé, “Bí ó bá tẹ́ ọba lọ́rùn, jẹ́ kí ọba, pẹ̀lú Hamani, wá lónìí sí ibi àsè tí èmi ti pèsè fún un.”
Then said Esther, If, unto the king, it seem good, let the king with Haman come in this day, unto the banquet which I have prepared for him.
5 Ọba sì wí pé, “ẹ mú Hamani wá kíákíá, nítorí kí a lè ṣe ohun tí Esteri béèrè fún un.” Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ọba àti Hamani lọ sí ibi àsè tí Esteri ti pèsè.
And the king said, Hasten ye Haman, to perform the word of Esther. So the king with Haman came in, unto the banquet which Esther had prepared,
6 Bí wọ́n ṣe ń mu wáìnì, ọba tún béèrè lọ́wọ́ Esteri, “Báyìí pé: kí ni ẹ̀bẹ̀ rẹ? A ó sì fi fún ọ. Kí ni ìwọ ń béèrè fún? Àní bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ ìdajì ìjọba mi, a ó fi fún ọ.”
Then said the king unto Esther, during the banquet of wine, What is thy petition, that it may be granted thee?—and what is thy request—unto the half of the kingdom—that it may be performed?
7 Esteri sì dáhùn, “Ẹ̀bẹ̀ mi àti ìbéèrè mi ni èyí.
Then answered Esther, and said, —As touching my petition and my request,
8 Bí ọba bá fi ojúrere rẹ̀ fún mi, tí ó bá sì tẹ́ ọba lọ́rùn láti gba ẹ̀bẹ̀ mi àti láti mú ìbéèrè mi ṣẹ, jẹ́ kí ọba àti Hamani wá ní ọ̀la sí ibi àsè tí èmi yóò pèsè fún wọn. Nígbà náà ni èmi yóò dáhùn ìbéèrè ọba.”
If I have found favour in the eyes of the king, and if, unto the king, it seem good, to grant my petition, and to perform my request, let the king with Haman come in unto the banquet which I will prepare for them, and, to-morrow, I will do according to the word of the king.
9 Hamani jáde lọ ní ọjọ́ náà pẹ̀lú ayọ̀ àti inú dídùn. Ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí ó rí Mordekai ní ẹnu-ọ̀nà ọba, ó wòye pé kò dìde tàbí kí ó bẹ̀rù ní iwájú òun, inú bí i gidigidi sí Mordekai.
Then went Haman forth on that day, joyful and of a merry heart, —but, when Haman saw Mordecai in the gate of the king, that he rose not up nor moved because of him, then was Haman filled with wrath against Mordecai.
10 Ṣùgbọ́n, Hamani kó ara rẹ̀ ní ìjánu, ó lọ sí ilé. Ó pe àwọn ọ̀rẹ́ rẹ̀ jọ àti Sereṣi ìyàwó rẹ̀
Nevertheless Haman restrained himself, and came into his own house, —and sent and brought in his friends, and Zeresh his wife;
11 Hamani gbéraga sí wọn nípa títóbi ọ̀rọ̀ rẹ̀, púpọ̀ àwọn ọmọ rẹ̀, àti gbogbo ọ̀nà tí ọba ti bu ọlá fún un àti bí ó ṣe gbé e ga ju àwọn ọlọ́lá àti àwọn ìjòyè tókù lọ.
and Haman recounted unto them the glory of his riches, and the multitude of his children, —and all the things wherein the king had promoted him to power, and how he had advanced him, above the rulers and the servants of the king.
And Haman said, Moreover Esther the queen did bring in no one with the king into the banquet which she had prepared, saving myself, —yea moreover, even for to-morrow, I, am invited unto her, with the king.
13 Ṣùgbọ́n gbogbo èyí kò ì tí ì tẹ́ mi lọ́rùn níwọ̀n ìgbà tí mo bá sì ń rí Mordekai ará a Júù náà tí ó ń jókòó ní ẹnu-ọ̀nà ọba.”
Yet, all this, sufficeth me not, —so long as, I, see Mordecai the Jew, sitting in the gate of the king.
14 Ìyàwó rẹ̀ Sereṣi àti àwọn ọ̀rẹ́ rẹ̀ wí fún un pé, “Ri igi kan, kí ó ga tó ìwọ̀n ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ bàtà márùn le láàdọ́rin, kí o sì sọ fún ọba ní òwúrọ̀ ọ̀la kí ó gbé Mordekai rọ̀ sórí i rẹ̀. Nígbà náà ni ìwọ yóò bá ọba lọ sí ibi àsè pẹ̀lú ayọ̀.” Èrò yí dùn mọ́ Hamani nínú, ó sì ri igi náà.
Then said Zeresh his wife and all his friends unto him, Let them make ready a gallows, of the height of fifty cubits, and, in the morning, speak thou unto the king, that they hang Mordecai thereon, then go with the king into the banquet joyfully. And the thing seemed good before Haman, and he made ready the gallows.
