< Esther 10 >
1 Ọba Ahaswerusi sì fi owó ọba lélẹ̀ jákèjádò ilẹ̀ ọba, dé erékùṣù òkun.
And King Ahasuerus laid tribute upon the land, and upon the shores of the sea.
2 Gbogbo ìṣe agbára àti títóbi rẹ̀, papọ̀ pẹ̀lú ìròyìn títóbi Mordekai ní èyí tí ọba ti gbé e ga, kò ha wà nínú àkọsílẹ̀ ìwé ọdọọdún ọba ti Media àti ti Persia?
But, all the acts of his authority, and his might, and the clear story of the promotion of Mordecai, wherewith the king promoted him, are, they, not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia?
3 Mordekai ará Júù ni ó jẹ́ igbákejì ọba Ahaswerusi, ó tóbi láàrín àwọn Júù, ó sì jẹ́ ẹni iyì lọ́dọ̀ àwọn Júù ẹlẹgbẹ́ ẹ rẹ̀, nítorí tí ó ń ṣiṣẹ́ fún ìre àwọn ènìyàn an rẹ̀, ó sì ń sọ̀rọ̀ fún àlàáfíà gbogbo àwọn Júù.
For, Mordecai the Jew, was next unto King Ahasuerus, and became great among the Jews, and accepted by the multitude of his brethren, —seeking happiness for his people, and speaking peace to all his seed.
