< Deuteronomy 32 >

1 Fetísílẹ̀, ẹ̀yin ọ̀run, èmi yóò sọ̀rọ̀; ẹ gbọ́, ìwọ ayé, ọ̀rọ̀ ẹnu mi.
Give ear, ye heavens, and I will speak; And let the earth hear the words of my mouth:
2 Jẹ́ kí ẹ̀kọ́ ọ̀ mi máa rọ̀ bí òjò, kí àwọn ọ̀rọ̀ mi máa sọ̀kalẹ̀ bí ìrì, bí òjò wíníwíní sára ewéko tuntun, bí ọ̀wààrà òjò sára ohun ọ̀gbìn.
My doctrine shall drop as the rain, My speech shall distil as the dew; As the small rain upon the tender grass, And as the showers upon the herb:
3 Èmi yóò kókìkí orúkọ Olúwa. Ẹyin títóbi Ọlọ́run wa!
For I will proclaim the name of the LORD: Ascribe ye greatness unto our God.
4 Òun ni àpáta, iṣẹ́ ẹ rẹ̀ jẹ́ pípé, gbogbo ọ̀nà an rẹ̀ jẹ́ òdodo. Ọlọ́run olóòtítọ́ tí kò ṣe àṣìṣe kan, Ó dúró ṣinṣin, òdodo àti òtítọ́ ni òun.
The Rock, his work is perfect; For all his ways are judgment: A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, Just and right is he.
5 Wọ́n ti ṣe iṣẹ́ ìbàjẹ́ sọ́dọ̀ ọ rẹ̀; fún ìtìjú u wọn, wọn kì í ṣe ọmọ rẹ̀ mọ́, ṣùgbọ́n ìran tí ó yí sí apá kan tí ó sì dorí kodò.
They have dealt corruptly with him, [they are] not his children, [it is] their blemish; [They are] a perverse and crooked generation.
6 Ṣé báyìí ni ẹ̀yin yóò ṣe san an fún Olúwa, ẹ̀yin aṣiwèrè àti aláìgbọ́n ènìyàn? Ǹjẹ́ òun kọ́ ni baba yín, Ẹlẹ́dàá yín, tí ó dá a yín tí ó sì mọ yín?
Do ye thus requite the LORD, O foolish people and unwise? Is not he thy father that hath bought thee? He hath made thee, and established thee.
7 Rántí ìgbà láéláé; wádìí àwọn ìran tí ó ti kọjá. Béèrè lọ́wọ́ baba à rẹ yóò sì sọ fún ọ, àwọn àgbàgbà rẹ, wọn yóò sì ṣàlàyé fún ọ.
Remember the days of old, Consider the years of many generations: Ask thy father, and he will shew thee; Thine elders, and they will tell thee.
8 Nígbà tí Ọ̀gá-ògo fi ogún àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè fún wọn, nígbà tí ó pín onírúurú ènìyàn, ó sì gbé ààlà kalẹ̀ fún àwọn ènìyàn gẹ́gẹ́ bí iye ọmọkùnrin Israẹli.
When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, When he separated the children of men, He set the bounds of the peoples According to the number of the children of Israel.
9 Nítorí ìpín Olúwa ni àwọn ènìyàn an rẹ̀, Jakọbu ni ìpín ìní i rẹ̀.
For the LORD’S portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.
10 Ní aginjù ni ó ti rí i, ní aginjù níbi tí ẹranko kò sí. Ó yíká, ó sì tọ́jú rẹ̀, ó pa á mọ́ bí ẹyin ojú u rẹ̀.
He found him in a desert land, And in the waste howling wilderness; He compassed him about, he cared for him, He kept him as the apple of his eye:
11 Bí idì ti í ru ìtẹ́ rẹ̀ ti ó sì ń rábàbà sórí ọmọ rẹ̀, tí ó na ìyẹ́ apá rẹ̀ láti gbé wọn ki ó sì gbé wọn sórí ìyẹ́ apá rẹ̀.
As an eagle that stirreth up her nest, That fluttereth over her young, He spread abroad his wings, he took them, He bare them on his pinions:
12 Olúwa ṣamọ̀nà; kò sì sí ọlọ́run àjèjì pẹ̀lú rẹ̀.
The LORD alone did lead him, And there was no strange god with him.
13 Ó mú gun ibi gíga ayé ó sì fi èso oko bọ́ ọ. Ó sì jẹ́ kí ó mú oyin láti inú àpáta wá, àti òróró láti inú akọ òkúta wá.
He made him ride on the high places of the earth, And he did eat the increase of the field; And he made him to suck honey out of the rock, And oil out of the flinty rock;
14 Pẹ̀lú u wàràǹkàṣì àti wàrà àgùntàn àti ti àgbò ẹran àti pẹ̀lú ọ̀rá ọ̀dọ́-àgùntàn àti ewúrẹ́, pẹ̀lú àgbò irú u ti Baṣani tí ó sì mu ẹ̀jẹ̀ èso àjàrà, àní àti wáìnì.
Butter of kine, and milk of sheep, With fat of lambs, And rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats, With the fat of kidneys of wheat; And of the blood of the grape thou drankest wine.
15 Jeṣuruni sanra tán ó sì tàpá; ìwọ sanra tán, ìwọ ki tan, ọ̀rá sì bò ọ́ tán. O kọ Ọlọ́run tí ó dá ọ o sì kọ àpáta ìgbàlà rẹ.
But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: Thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art become sleek: Then he forsook God which made him, And lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.
16 Wọ́n sì fi òrìṣà mú un jowú, ohun ìríra ni wọ́n fi mú un bínú.
They moved him to jealousy with strange [gods], With abominations provoked they him to anger.
17 Wọ́n rú ẹbọ sí iwin búburú, tí kì í ṣe Ọlọ́run, ọlọ́run tí wọn kò mọ̀ rí, ọlọ́run tí ó ṣẹ̀ṣẹ̀ farahàn láìpẹ́, ọlọ́run tí àwọn baba yín kò bẹ̀rù.
They sacrificed unto demons, [which were] no God, To gods whom they knew not, To new [gods] that came up of late, Whom your fathers dreaded not.
18 Ìwọ kò rántí àpáta, tí ó bí ọ; o sì gbàgbé Ọlọ́run tí ó dá ọ.
Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, And hast forgotten God that gave thee birth.
19 Olúwa sì rí èyí ó sì kọ̀ wọ́n, nítorí tí ó ti bínú nítorí ìwà ìmúnibínú àwọn ọmọkùnrin àti ọmọbìnrin rẹ.
And the LORD saw [it], and abhorred [them], Because of the provocation of his sons and his daughters.
20 Ó sì wí pé, “Èmi yóò pa ojú mi mọ́ kúrò lára wọn, èmi yóò sì wò ó bí ìgbẹ̀yìn in wọn yóò ti rí; nítorí wọ́n jẹ́ ìran alágídí, àwọn ọmọ tí kò sí ìgbàgbọ́ nínú wọn.
And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: For they are a very froward generation, Children in whom is no faith.
21 Wọ́n fi mí jowú nípa ohun tí kì í ṣe Ọlọ́run, wọ́n sì fi ohun asán an wọn mú mi bínú. Èmi yóò mú wọn kún fún ìlara láti ọ̀dọ̀ àwọn tí kì í ṣe ènìyàn; èmi yóò sì mú wọn bínú láti ọ̀dọ̀ aṣiwèrè orílẹ̀-èdè.
They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; They have provoked me to anger with their vanities: And I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.
22 Nítorí pé iná kan ràn nínú ìbínú mi, yóò sì jó dé ipò ikú ní ìsàlẹ̀. Yóò sì run ayé àti ìkórè e rẹ̀ yóò sì tiná bọ ìpìlẹ̀ àwọn òkè ńlá. (Sheol h7585)
For a fire is kindled in mine anger, And burneth unto the lowest pit, And devoureth the earth with her increase, And setteth on fire the foundations of the mountains. (Sheol h7585)
23 “Èmi yóò kó àwọn ohun búburú lé wọn lórí èmi ó sì na ọfà mi tán sí wọn lára.
I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend mine arrows upon them:
24 Èmi yóò mú wọn gbẹ, ooru gbígbóná àti ìparun kíkorò ni a ó fi run wọ́n. Pẹ̀lú oró ohun tí ń rákò nínú erùpẹ̀.
[They shall be] wasted with hunger, and devoured with burning heat And bitter destruction; And the teeth of beasts will I send upon them, With the poison of crawling things of the dust.
25 Idà ní òde, àti ẹ̀rù nínú ìyẹ̀wù, ni yóò run ọmọkùnrin àti wúńdíá. Ọmọ ẹnu ọmú àti arúgbó eléwú irun pẹ̀lú.
Without shall the sword bereave, And in the chambers terror; [It shall destroy] both young man and virgin, The suckling with the man of gray hairs.
26 Mo ní èmi yóò tú wọn ká èmi yóò sì mú ìrántí i wọn dà kúrò nínú àwọn ènìyàn,
I said, I would scatter them afar, I would make the remembrance of them to cease from among men:
27 nítorí bí mo ti bẹ̀rù ìbínú ọ̀tá, kí àwọn ọ̀tá a wọn kí ó má ba à wí pé, ‘Ọwọ́ wa lékè ni; kì í sì í ṣe Olúwa ni ó ṣe gbogbo èyí.’”
Were it not that I feared the provocation of the enemy, Lest their adversaries should misdeem, Lest they should say, Our hand is exalted, And the LORD hath not done all this.
28 Wọ́n jẹ́ orílẹ̀-èdè tí kò ní ìmọ̀, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kò sí òye nínú wọn.
For they are a nation void of counsel, And there is no understanding in them.
29 Bí ó ṣe pé wọ́n gbọ́n, kí òye yìí sì yé wọn kí wọn ro bí ìgbẹ̀yìn wọn yóò ti rí!
Oh that they were wise, that they understood this, That they would consider their latter end!
30 Báwo ni ẹnìkan ṣe lè lé ẹgbẹ̀rún, tàbí tí ẹni méjì sì lè lé ẹgbẹ̀rún mẹ́wàá sá, bí kò ṣe pé àpáta wọn ti tà wọ́n, bí kò ṣe pé Olúwa wọn ti fi wọ́n tọrẹ?
How should one chase a thousand, And two put ten thousand to flight, Except their Rock had sold them, And the LORD had delivered them up?
31 Nítorí pé àpáta wọn kò dàbí àpáta wa, àní àwọn ọ̀tá wa tìkára wọn ń ṣe onídàájọ́.
For their rock is not as our Rock, Even our enemies themselves being judges.
32 Igi àjàrà a wọn wá láti igi àjàrà Sodomu àti ti ìgbẹ́ ẹ Gomorra. Èso àjàrà wọn kún fún oró, ìdì wọn korò.
For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, And of the fields of Gomorrah: Their grapes are grapes of gall, Their clusters are bitter:
33 Ọtí wáìnì wọn ìwọ ti dragoni ni, àti oró mímú ti ejò paramọ́lẹ̀.
Their wine is the poison of dragons, And the cruel venom of asps.
34 “Èmi kò to èyí jọ ní ìpamọ́ èmi kò sì fi èdìdì dì í ní ìṣúra mi?
Is not this laid up in store with me, Sealed up among my treasures?
35 Ti èmi ni láti gbẹ̀san. Èmi yóò san án fún wọn ní àkókò tí ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ wọn yóò yọ; ọjọ́ ìdààmú wọn súnmọ́ etílé ohun tí ó sì ń bọ̀ wá bá wọn yára bọ̀.”
Vengeance is mine, and recompence, At the time when their foot shall slide: For the day of their calamity is at hand, And the things that are to come upon them shall make haste.
36 Olúwa yóò ṣe ìdájọ́ àwọn ènìyàn an rẹ̀ yóò sì ṣàánú fún àwọn ìránṣẹ́ ẹ rẹ̀ nígbà tí ó bá rí i pé agbára wọn lọ tán tí kò sì sí ẹnìkan tí ó kù, ẹrú tàbí ọmọ.
For the LORD shall judge his people, And repent himself for his servants; When he seeth that [their] power is gone, And there is none [remaining], shut up or left at large.
37 Yóò wí pé, “Òrìṣà wọn dà báyìí, àpáta tí wọ́n fi ṣe ìgbẹ́kẹ̀lé e wọn,
And he shall say, Where are their gods, The rock in which they trusted;
38 ọlọ́run tí ó jẹ ọ̀rá ẹran ẹbọ wọn tí ó ti mu ọtí i wáìnì ẹbọ ohun mímu wọn? Jẹ́ kí wọn dìde láti gbà wọ́n! Jẹ́ kí wọn ṣe ààbò fún un yín!
Which did eat the fat of their sacrifices, [And] drank the wine of their drink offering? Let them rise up and help you, Let them be your protection.
39 “Wò ó báyìí pé, Èmi fúnra à mi, Èmi ni! Kò sí ọlọ́run mìíràn lẹ́yìn mi. Mo sọ di kíkú mo sì tún sọ di ààyè. Mo ti ṣá lọ́gbẹ́ Èmi yóò sì mu jiná, kò sí ẹni tí ó lè gbà kúrò lọ́wọ́ ọ̀ mi.
See now that I, even I, am he, And there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I have wounded, and I heal: And there is none that can deliver out of my hand.
40 Mo gbé ọwọ́ mi sókè ọ̀run mo sì wí pé, Èmi ti wà láààyè títí láé,
For I lift up my hand to heaven, And say, As I live for ever,
41 nígbà tí mo bá pọ́n idà dídán mi àti tí mo bá sì fi ọwọ́ mi lé ìdájọ́, Èmi yóò san ẹ̀san fún àwọn ọ̀tá mi Èmi ó sì san fún àwọn tí ó kórìíra à mi.
If I whet my glittering sword, And mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine adversaries, And will recompense them that hate me.
42 Èmi yóò mú ọfà mu ẹ̀jẹ̀, nígbà tí idà mi bá jẹ ẹran: ẹ̀jẹ̀ ẹni pípa àti ẹni ìgbèkùn, láti orí àwọn aṣáájú ọ̀tá.”
I will make mine arrows drunk with blood, And my sword shall devour flesh; With the blood of the slain and the captives, From the head of the leaders of the enemy.
43 Ẹ yọ̀ ẹ̀yin orílẹ̀-èdè, pẹ̀lú àwọn ènìyàn rẹ̀ nítorí òun yóò gbẹ̀san ẹ̀jẹ̀ àwọn ìránṣẹ́ ẹ rẹ̀; yóò sì gbẹ̀san lára àwọn ọ̀tá a rẹ̀ yóò sì ṣe ètùtù fún ilẹ̀ àti ènìyàn rẹ̀.
Rejoice, O ye nations, [with] his people: For he will avenge the blood of his servants, And will render vengeance to his adversaries, And will make expiation for his land, for his people.
44 Mose sì wá ó sì sọ gbogbo ọ̀rọ̀ òfin yìí ní etí àwọn ènìyàn náà, òun, àti Hosea ọmọ Nuni.
And Moses came and spake all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he, and Hoshea the son of Nun.
45 Nígbà tí Mose parí i kíka gbogbo ọ̀rọ̀ wọ̀nyí sí Israẹli.
And Moses made an end of speaking all these words to all Israel:
46 Ó sọ fún un pé, “Ẹ gbé ọkàn an yín lé gbogbo ọ̀rọ̀ tí mo ti sọ láàrín yín lónìí, kí ẹ̀yin lè pàṣẹ fún àwọn ọmọ yín láti gbọ́rọ̀ àti láti ṣe gbogbo ọ̀rọ̀ inú òfin yìí.
And he said unto them, Set your heart unto all the words which I testify unto you this day; which ye shall command your children, to observe to do all the words of this law.
47 Wọn kì í ṣe ọ̀rọ̀ asán fún ọ, ìyè e yín ni wọ́n. Nípa wọn ni ẹ̀yin yóò gbé pẹ́ lórí ilẹ̀ tí ẹ̀yin ń gòkè e Jordani lọ láti gbà.”
For it is no vain thing for you; because it is your life, and through this thing ye shall prolong your days upon the land, whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.
48 Ní ọjọ́ kan náà, Olúwa sọ fún Mose pé,
And the LORD spake unto Moses that selfsame day, saying,
49 “Gòkè lọ sí Abarimu sí òkè Nebo ní Moabu, tí ó kọjú sí Jeriko, kí o sì wo ilẹ̀ Kenaani, ilẹ̀ tí mo ń fi fún àwọn ọmọ Israẹli, bí ìní i wọn.
Get thee up into this mountain of Abarim, unto mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is over against Jericho; and behold the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel for a possession:
50 Ní orí òkè tí ìwọ ń gùn lọ ìwọ yóò kùú níbẹ̀, kí a sì sin ọ́ pẹ̀lú àwọn ènìyàn rẹ, gẹ́gẹ́ bí arákùnrin in rẹ Aaroni ti kú ní orí òkè Hori tí a sì sin ín pẹ̀lú àwọn ènìyàn an rẹ̀.
and die in the mount whither thou goest up, and be gathered unto thy people; as Aaron thy brother died in mount Hor, and was gathered unto his people:
51 Ìdí ni pé ẹ̀yin méjèèjì ṣẹ̀ sí mi láàrín àwọn ọmọ Israẹli ní ibi omi Meriba Kadeṣi ní aginjù Sini àti nítorí ẹ̀yin kò yà mí sí mímọ́ láàrín àwọn ọmọ Israẹli.
because ye trespassed against me in the midst of the children of Israel at the waters of Meribah of Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because ye sanctified me not in the midst of the children of Israel.
52 Nítorí náà, ìwọ yóò rí ilẹ̀ náà ní ọ̀kánkán, o kì yóò wọ inú rẹ̀ ilẹ̀ ti mo ti fi fún àwọn ọmọ Israẹli.”
For thou shalt see the land before thee; but thou shalt not go thither into the land which I give the children of Israel.
