< Deuteronomy 24 >
1 Bí ọkùnrin kan bá fẹ́ obìnrin kan, tí ó sì gbe ní ìyàwó, yóò sì ṣe, bí obìnrin náà kò bá rí ojúrere ní ojú ọkùnrin náà, nítorí ó rí ohun àìtọ́ kan lára rẹ̀, ǹjẹ́ kí ó kọ ìwé ìkọ̀sílẹ̀ fún obìnrin náà, kí ó sì fi lé e lọ́wọ́, kí ó sì ran jáde kúrò nínú ilé rẹ̀,
When a man taketh a wife, and marrieth her, then it shall be, if she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some unseemly thing in her, that he shall write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house.
2 tí ó bá di ìyàwó ọkùnrin mìíràn lẹ́yìn ìgbà tí ó kúrò nílé rẹ,
And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man’s [wife].
3 àti tí ọkọ rẹ̀ kejì kò bá fẹ́ràn rẹ̀ tí ó sì kọ ìwé-ẹ̀rí ìkọ̀sílẹ̀ sí i, kí ó fi fún un kí ó sì lé e kúrò nílé e rẹ̀, tàbí tí ọkọ rẹ̀ kejì bá kú,
And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house; or if the latter husband die, which took her to be his wife;
4 nígbà náà ni ọkọ, tí ó ti kọ̀ ọ́ sílẹ̀, kò gbọdọ̀ fẹ́ ẹ mọ́ lẹ́yìn tí ó ti di àìmọ́. Nítorí èyí ni ìríra níwájú Olúwa. Má ṣe mú ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ wá sórí ilẹ̀ tí Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ yóò fi fún ọ bí ogún.
her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before the LORD: and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.
5 Bí ọkùnrin kan bá ṣẹ̀ṣẹ̀ gbéyàwó, o kò gbọdọ̀ ran lọ sí ogun tàbí kí ó ní iṣẹ́ kan láti ṣe. Ó ní láti ní òmìnira fún ọdún kan kí ó dúró sílé kí ó sì mú inú dídùn bá ìyàwó rẹ̀ tí ó fẹ́.
When a man taketh a new wife, he shall not go out in the host, neither shall he be charged with any business: he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer his wife which he hath taken.
6 Ẹnikẹ́ni kò gbọdọ̀ gba ìyá ọlọ tàbí ọmọ ọlọ gẹ́gẹ́ bí ohun ìdúró fún gbèsè, nítorí pé ẹ̀mí ènìyàn ni ó gbà ní pàṣípàrọ̀ n nì.
No man shall take the mill or the upper millstone to pledge: for he taketh [a man’s] life to pledge.
7 Bí a bá mú ọkùnrin kan tí ó jí ọ̀kan nínú arákùnrin rẹ̀ ní Israẹli gbé àti tí ó jí ọ̀kan nínú ẹrú tàbí kí ó tà á, ẹni tí ó jí ènìyàn gbé ní láti kú. Ẹ ní láti wẹ búburú kúrò láàrín yín.
If a man be found stealing any of his brethren of the children of Israel, and he deal with him as a slave, or sell him; then that thief shall die: so shalt thou put away the evil from the midst of thee.
8 Ní ti ààrùn ẹ̀tẹ̀ kíyèsára láti máa ṣe gẹ́gẹ́ bí àwọn àlùfáà tí wọ́n jẹ́ ọmọ Lefi ti pàṣẹ fún ọ. O ní láti máa fi ìṣọ́ra tẹ̀lé ohun tí mo ti pàṣẹ fún wọn.
Take heed in the plague of leprosy, that thou observe diligently, and do according to all that the priests the Levites shall teach you: as I commanded them, so ye shall observe to do.
9 Rántí ohun tí Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ ṣe sí Miriamu lójú ọ̀nà lẹ́yìn ìgbà tí o jáde kúrò ní Ejibiti.
Remember what the LORD thy God did unto Miriam, by the way as ye came forth out of Egypt.
10 Nígbà tí o bá wín arákùnrin rẹ ní ohunkóhun, má ṣe lọ sí ilé rẹ̀ láti gba ohun tí ó bá mú wá bí ẹ̀rí.
When thou dost lend thy neighbour any manner of loan, thou shalt not go into his house to fetch his pledge.
11 Dúró síta gbangba kí o sì jẹ́ kí ọkùnrin tí o wín mú ògo rẹ jáde wá fún ọ.
Thou shalt stand without, and the man to whom thou dost lend shall bring forth the pledge without unto thee.
12 Bí ọkùnrin náà bá jẹ́ tálákà má ṣe lọ sùn ti ìwọ ti ògo rẹ.
And if he be a poor man, thou shalt not sleep with his pledge:
13 Dá aṣọ ìlekè rẹ padà ní àṣálẹ́ kí ó bá à le sùn lórí i rẹ̀. Nígbà náà ni yóò dúpẹ́ lọ́wọ́ rẹ, ó sì máa jásí ìwà òdodo níwájú Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ.
thou shalt surely restore to him the pledge when the sun goeth down, that he may sleep in his garment, and bless thee: and it shall be righteousness unto thee before the LORD thy God.
14 Má ṣe ni alágbàṣe kan lára tí ó jẹ́ tálákà àti aláìní, bóyá ó jẹ́ arákùnrin Israẹli tàbí àlejò tí ó ń gbé ní ọ̀kan nínú àwọn ìlú rẹ.
Thou shalt not oppress an hired servant that is poor and needy, whether he be of thy brethren, or of thy strangers that are in thy land within thy gates:
15 San owó iṣẹ́ rẹ̀ ní ọjọ́ kan náà kí ó tó di àṣálẹ́, nítorí ó jẹ́ tálákà, ó sì gbẹ́kẹ̀lé e bí kò ṣe bẹ́ẹ̀ ó lè ké pe Olúwa sí ọ, o sì máa gba ìdálẹ́bi ẹ̀ṣẹ̀.
in his day thou shalt give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down upon it; for he is poor, and setteth his heart upon it: lest he cry against thee unto the LORD, and it be sin unto thee.
16 Baba kò gbọdọ̀ kú fún àwọn ọmọ wọn tàbí kí àwọn ọmọ kú fún baba wọ́n; olúkúlùkù ní láti kú fún ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ òun tìkára rẹ̀.
The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.
17 Má ṣe yí ìdájọ́ po fún àlejò tàbí aláìní baba, tàbí gba aṣọ ìlekè opó bí ẹ̀rí.
Thou shalt not wrest the judgment of the stranger, [nor] of the fatherless; nor take the widow’s raiment to pledge:
18 Rántí pé o jẹ́ ẹrú ní Ejibiti tí Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ sì gbà ọ́ níbẹ̀. Ìdí nìyí tí mo fi pa á láṣẹ fún ọ láti ṣe èyí.
but thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in Egypt, and the LORD thy God redeemed thee thence: therefore I command thee to do this thing.
19 Nígbà tí o bá ń kórè oko rẹ tí o sì fojú fo ìtí kan, má ṣe padà lọ mú u. Fi í kalẹ̀ fún àwọn àlejò, aláìní baba àti opó, kí Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ lè bùkún fún gbogbo iṣẹ́ ọwọ́ ọ̀ rẹ.
When thou reapest thine harvest in thy field, and hast forgot a sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to fetch it: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow: that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hands.
20 Nígbà tí o bá ń gun igi olifi lára àwọn igi i rẹ, má ṣe padà lọ sí ẹ̀ka náà ní ìgbà kejì. Fi èyí tí ó kù fún àlejò, aláìní baba àti opó.
When thou beatest thine olive tree, thou shalt not go over the boughs again: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.
21 Nígbà tí ìwọ bá kórè èso àjàrà nínú ọgbà àjàrà rẹ, má ṣe lọ sí ọgbà náà mọ́. Fi èyí tí ó kù fún àlejò, aláìní baba àti opó.
When thou gatherest [the grapes of] thy vineyard, thou shalt not glean it after thee: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.
22 Rántí pé ìwọ ti jẹ́ àlejò ní Ejibiti. Ìdí nìyí tí mo fi pa á láṣẹ fún ọ láti ṣe èyí.
And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt: therefore I command thee to do this thing.
