< Deuteronomy 15 >
1 Ní òpin ọdún méje méje, ẹ̀yin gbọdọ̀ máa yọ̀ǹda àwọn gbèsè.
“At the end of seven years you make a release,
2 Báyìí ni kí ẹ máa ṣe é. Gbogbo ẹni tí wọ́n jẹ ní gbèsè gbọdọ̀ fojú fo gbèsè tí ó ti yá ará Israẹli ènìyàn rẹ̀. Kò gbọdọ̀ béèrè ohun náà, lọ́dọ̀ ará Israẹli ènìyàn rẹ̀ tàbí lọ́dọ̀ arákùnrin rẹ̀: nítorí pé a ti kéde àkókò Olúwa láti fojú fo gbèsè.
and this [is] the matter of the release: every owner of a loan [is] to release his hand which he lifts up against his neighbor, he does not exact of his neighbor and of his brother, but has proclaimed a release to YHWH;
3 Ẹ lè béèrè ìsanpadà lọ́dọ̀ àjèjì. Ṣùgbọ́n ẹ fa igi lé gbèsè yówù kó jẹ́ tí arákùnrin yín jẹ yín.
of the stranger you may exact, but that which is yours with your brother your hand releases,
4 Ṣùgbọ́n kò sí ẹni tí yóò tọ́ sí nínú yín, nítorí pé Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín yóò bùkún un yín lọ́pọ̀lọ́pọ̀ nínú ilẹ̀ náà tí ó ń mú un yín lọ láti gbà bí ìní yín.
except there is an end [when] no poor [are] with you; for YHWH greatly blesses you in the land which your God YHWH is giving to you [for] an inheritance to possess it,
5 Kìkì bí ẹ bá gbọ́rọ̀ sí àṣẹ Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín tí ẹ sì kíyèsára láti máa rìn nínú gbogbo àṣẹ wọ̀nyí, tí èmi ń pa fún un yín lónìí.
only if you listen diligently to the voice of your God YHWH, to observe to do all this command which I am commanding you today.
6 Nítorí pé Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín yóò bùkún un yín bí ó ti ṣèlérí, ẹ̀yin yóò sì máa yá ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ orílẹ̀-èdè ẹ kì yóò sì tọrọ. Ẹ ó ṣàkóso ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ orílẹ̀-èdè, ṣùgbọ́n kò sí orílẹ̀-èdè tí yóò lè jẹ ọba lé e yín lórí.
For your God YHWH has blessed you as He has spoken to you; and you have lent [to] many nations, but you have not borrowed; and you have ruled over many nations, but they do not rule over you.
7 Bí tálákà kan bá wà láàrín àwọn arákùnrin yín ní èyíkéyìí àwọn ìlú, ilẹ̀ náà tí Olúwa yín yóò fún un yín. Ẹ má ṣe ṣe àìláàánú, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kí ẹ má ṣe háwọ́ sí arákùnrin yín tí ó jẹ́ tálákà.
When there is with you any poor of one of your brothers, in one of your cities, in your land which your God YHWH is giving to you, you do not harden your heart, nor shut your hand from your needy brother;
8 Ṣùgbọ́n ẹ lawọ́ kí ẹ sì fi tọkàntọkàn yá wọn ní ohun tí wọ́n nílò.
for you certainly open your hand to him, and certainly lend him sufficiency for his lack which he lacks.
9 Ẹ ṣọ́ra kí èrò búburú kan má ṣe sí nínú àyà rẹ wí pé, “Ọdún keje tí í ṣe ọdún ìyọ̀ǹda gbèsè ti súnmọ́,” nípa bẹ́ẹ̀, ojú rẹ a sì burú sí arákùnrin rẹ tálákà, tí ìwọ kò sì fun ní nǹkan, o kò sì fun ní nǹkan kan. Òun a si kígbe pe Olúwa nítorí rẹ, a si di ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ fún ọ.
Take heed to yourself lest there be a worthless word in your heart, saying, The seventh year [is] near, the year of release; and your eye is evil against your needy brother, and you do not give to him, and he has called to YHWH concerning you, and it has been sin in you;
10 Fún un tọkàntọkàn, láìsí ìkùnsínú, nítorí èyí, Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ yóò bùkún fún ọ nínú iṣẹ́ ọwọ́ rẹ, àti gbogbo ìdáwọ́lé rẹ.
you certainly give to him, and your heart is not sad in your giving to him, for because of this thing your God YHWH blesses you in all your works and in every putting forth of your hand;
11 A kò lè fẹ́ tálákà kù ní ilẹ̀ náà ní ìgbà gbogbo, mo pàṣẹ fún un yín láti lawọ́ sí àwọn arákùnrin yín, sí àwọn tálákà àti sí àwọn aláìní, ní ilẹ̀ ẹ yín.
because the poor does not cease out of the land, therefore I am commanding you, saying, You certainly open your hand to your brother, to your poor and to your needy one in your land.
12 Bí Heberu ara yín kan, yálà ọkùnrin tàbí obìnrin bá ta ara rẹ̀ fún ọ, tí ó sì sìn ọ́ fún ọdún mẹ́fà. Ní ọdún keje, jẹ́ kí ó di òmìnira.
When your brother is sold to you, a Hebrew or a Hebrewess, and he has served you [for] six years, then in the seventh year you send him away free from you.
13 Nígbà tí ó bá dá a sílẹ̀ má ṣe jẹ́ kí ó lọ lọ́wọ́ òfo.
And when you send him away free from you, you do not send him away empty;
14 Fi tọkàntọkàn fún un láti inú agbo ewúrẹ́ rẹ, ilẹ̀ ìpakà rẹ, àti ibi ìfúntí rẹ. Fún un gẹ́gẹ́ bí Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ ti bùkún fún ọ tó.
you certainly adorn him from your flock, and from your threshing-floor, and from your wine-vat; you give to him [from] that which your God YHWH has blessed you [with],
15 Ẹ rántí pé ẹ ti fi ìgbà kan jẹ́ ẹrú ní Ejibiti, Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín sì rà yín padà, ìdí nìyí tí mo fi pa àṣẹ yìí fún un yín lónìí.
and you have remembered that you have been a servant in the land of Egypt, and your God YHWH ransoms you; therefore I am commanding you this thing today.
16 Ṣùgbọ́n bí ìránṣẹ́ rẹ bá sọ fún ọ pé, “Èmi kò fẹ́ fi ọ́ sílẹ̀,” nítorí pé ó fẹ́ràn ìwọ àti ìdílé rẹ, tí ó sì tẹ́ ọ lọ́rùn,
And it has been, when he says to you, I do not go out from you, because he has loved you and your house, because [it is] good for him with you,
17 kí ìwọ kí ó mú ìlu kan lu etí rẹ̀ mọ́ ara ìlẹ̀kùn, yóò sì di ẹrú rẹ láéláé. Bẹ́ẹ̀ náà ni kí o ṣe sí ìránṣẹ́ ẹrúbìnrin rẹ.
then you have taken the awl, and have put [it] through his ear, and through the door, and he has been a perpetual servant to you; and you also do so to your handmaid.
18 Má ṣe kà á sí ohun ìnira láti dá ẹrú rẹ sílẹ̀, nítorí ìsìnrú rẹ̀ fún ọ, ní ọdún mẹ́fà náà tó ìlọ́po méjì iṣẹ́ alágbàṣe, Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ yóò bùkún fún ọ nínú gbogbo ìdáwọ́lé rẹ.
It is not hard in your eyes in your sending him away free from you; for [his worth has been] double the hire of a hired worker [when] he has served you six years; and your God YHWH has blessed you in all that you do.
19 Gbogbo àkọ́bí tí o jẹ́ akọ nínú agbo màlúù rẹ ni kí o yà sọ́tọ̀ fún Olúwa, àti nínú agbo ewúrẹ́ bákan náà. Ẹ má ṣe fi àkọ́bí màlúù yín ṣiṣẹ́ rárá. Má ṣe rẹ́ irun àkọ́bí àgùntàn rẹ pẹ̀lú.
Every firstling that is born in your herd and in your flock—you sanctify the male to your God YHWH; you do not work with the firstling of your ox, nor shear the firstling of your flock;
20 Ní ọdọọdún ni kí ìwọ àti ìdílé rẹ máa jẹ ẹ́ níwájú Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín níbi tí Òun yóò yàn.
you eat it before your God YHWH year by year, in the place which YHWH chooses, you and your house.
21 Bí ẹran ọ̀sìn kan bá ní àbùkù: bóyá ó yarọ, tàbí fọ́jú, tàbí tí ó ní èyíkéyìí àbùkù tó burú. Ẹ kò gbọdọ̀ fi rú ẹbọ sí Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín.
And when there is a blemish in it, [or it is] lame or blind, [or has] any evil blemish, you do not sacrifice it to your God YHWH;
22 Ẹ jẹ ẹ́ ní ìlú u yín. Àti ẹni tí a kà sí mímọ́ àti aláìmọ́ ni ó lè jẹ ẹ́ bí ìgbà tí a ń jẹ èsúró tàbí àgbọ̀nrín.
you eat it within your gates, the unclean and the clean alike, as the roe and as the deer.
23 Ṣùgbọ́n ẹ̀yin kò gbọdọ̀ jẹ ẹ̀jẹ̀, ẹ dà á síta bí omi.
Only, you do not eat its blood—you pour it on the earth as water.”
