< Deuteronomy 14 >

1 Ọmọ Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín ni ẹ̀yin jẹ́: nítorí náà, ẹ má ṣe ya ara yín ní abẹ. Ẹ má ṣe gé irun iwájú orí yín nítorí òkú.
You are the children of the LORD your God: you shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.
2 Nítorí pé ènìyàn mímọ́ ní ẹ jẹ́ fún Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín, nínú gbogbo ènìyàn tí ó wà lórí ilẹ̀ ayé, Ọlọ́run ti yàn yín láti jẹ́ ìṣúra iyebíye rẹ̀.
For you are an holy people to the LORD your God, and the LORD has chosen you to be a peculiar people to himself, above all the nations that are on the earth.
3 Ẹ má ṣe jẹ ohun ìríra kankan.
You shall not eat any abominable thing.
4 Àwọn wọ̀nyí ni ẹranko tí ẹ lè máa jẹ: màlúù, àgùntàn àti ewúrẹ́,
These are the beasts which you shall eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat,
5 àgbọ̀nrín, èsúró, etu, àgóró, ẹfọ̀n, ìgalà àti àgùntàn igbó.
The hart, and the roebuck, and the fallow deer, and the wild goat, and the pygarg, and the wild ox, and the chamois.
6 Ẹ lè jẹ gbogbo ẹranko tí pátákò ẹsẹ̀ rẹ̀ kì í ṣe méjì tí ó sì tún jẹ àpọ̀jẹ.
And every beast that parts the hoof, and separates the cleft into two claws, and chews the cud among the beasts, that you shall eat.
7 Síbẹ̀síbẹ̀ nínú gbogbo ẹran tí ń jẹ àpọ̀jẹ tí ó sì tún ya pátákò ẹsẹ̀ tí ẹ kò gbọdọ̀ jẹ ni: ìbákasẹ, ehoro, àti ẹranko tí ó dàbí ehoro tí ń gbé inú àpáta. Bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé wọ́n jẹ àpọ̀jẹ, ṣùgbọ́n wọn kò la pátákò ẹsẹ̀, a kà wọ́n sí àìmọ́ fún yín.
Nevertheless these you shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the cloven hoof; as the camel, and the hare, and the coney: for they chew the cud, but divide not the hoof; therefore they are unclean to you.
8 Ẹlẹ́dẹ̀ jẹ́ àìmọ́; bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé ó ya pátákò ẹsẹ̀, kì í jẹ àpọ̀jẹ, ẹ kò gbọdọ̀ jẹ ẹran rẹ̀, ẹ kò sì gbọdọ̀ fọwọ́ kan òkú rẹ̀.
And the swine, because it divides the hoof, yet chews not the cud, it is unclean to you: you shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcass.
9 Nínú gbogbo ẹ̀dá alààyè tí ń gbé inú omi, ẹ lè jẹ èyíkéyìí tí ó ní lẹbẹ àti ìpẹ́.
These you shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales shall you eat:
10 Ṣùgbọ́n èyíkéyìí tí kò bá ní lẹbẹ àti ìpẹ́, ẹ má ṣe jẹ ẹ́, nítorí pé àìmọ́ ni wọ́n jẹ́ fún yín.
And whatever has not fins and scales you may not eat; it is unclean to you.
11 Ẹ lè jẹ ẹyẹ tí ó bá mọ́.
Of all clean birds you shall eat.
12 Ṣùgbọ́n ìwọ̀nyí ní ẹ kò gbọdọ̀ jẹ: idì, igún, àkàlà,
But these are they of which you shall not eat: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,
13 onírúurú àṣá àti àṣá alátagbà,
And the glede, and the kite, and the vulture after his kind,
14 onírúurú ẹyẹ ìwò,
And every raven after his kind,
15 ògòǹgò, òwìwí, pẹ́pẹ́yẹdò àti onírúurú àwòdì,
And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,
16 onírúurú òwìwí,
The little owl, and the great owl, and the swan,
17 òwìwí ọ̀dàn, àkàlà, ìgò,
And the pelican, and the gier eagle, and the cormorant,
18 àkọ̀, òòdẹ̀, onírúurú ẹyẹ odò mìíràn, atọ́ka àti àdán.
And the stork, and the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.
19 Àti gbogbo kòkòrò tí ń fò tí wọ́n ń kọ́wọ̀ọ́ rìn jẹ́ aláìmọ́ fun un yín, ẹ má ṣe jẹ wọ́n.
And every creeping thing that flies is unclean to you: they shall not be eaten.
20 Ṣùgbọ́n ẹ lè jẹ èyíkéyìí ẹ̀dá abìyẹ́ tí ó bá mọ́.
But of all clean fowls you may eat.
21 Ẹ má ṣe jẹ ohun tí ó ti kú sílẹ̀. Ẹ lè fún àwọn àjèjì tí ń gbé ní èyíkéyìí nínú ìlú yín. Òun lè jẹ ẹ́ tàbí kí ẹ tà á fún àwọn àjèjì. Ṣùgbọ́n ènìyàn mímọ́ fún Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín ni ẹ̀yin jẹ́. Ìwọ kò gbọdọ̀ ṣe ewúrẹ́ nínú wàrà ìyá rẹ̀.
You shall not eat of anything that dies of itself: you shall give it to the stranger that is in your gates, that he may eat it; or you may sell it to an alien: for you are an holy people to the LORD your God. You shall not seethe a kid in his mother’s milk.
22 Ẹ rí i dájú pé ẹ̀ ń fi ìdákan nínú mẹ́wàá nínú ìre oko yín lọ́dọọdún pamọ́ sí apá kan.
You shall truly tithe all the increase of your seed, that the field brings forth year by year.
23 Ẹ jẹ ìdámẹ́wàá oúnjẹ yín, wáìnì tuntun, òróró, àti àkọ́bí àwọn màlúù yín àti ewúrẹ́ ẹ yín, níwájú Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín, ní ibi tí yóò yàn bí ibùgbé orúkọ rẹ̀. Kí ẹ lè kọ́ bí a ṣé ń bu ọlá fún Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín nígbà gbogbo.
And you shall eat before the LORD your God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of your corn, of your wine, and of your oil, and the firstborn of your herds and of your flocks; that you may learn to fear the LORD your God always.
24 Bí ibẹ̀ bá jì tí Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ sì ti bùkún fún ọ, tí o kò sì le ru àwọn ìdámẹ́wàá rẹ (nítorí pé ibi tí Olúwa yóò yàn láti fi orúkọ rẹ̀ sí jìnnà jù).
And if the way be too long for you, so that you are not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from you, which the LORD your God shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD your God has blessed you:
25 Ẹ pààrọ̀ àwọn ìdámẹ́wàá yín sí owó, ẹ mú owó náà lọ sí ibi tí Olúwa yóò yàn.
Then shall you turn it into money, and bind up the money in your hand, and shall go to the place which the LORD your God shall choose:
26 Fi owó náà ra ohunkóhun tí o bá fẹ́, màlúù, àgùntàn, wáìnì, tàbí ọtí líle, tàbí ohunkóhun tí o bá fẹ́. Kí ìwọ àti ìdílé rẹ sì jẹ ẹ́ níwájú Olúwa níbẹ̀ kí ẹ sì máa yọ̀.
And you shall bestow that money for whatever your soul lusts after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatever your soul desires: and you shall eat there before the LORD your God, and you shall rejoice, you, and your household,
27 Ẹ má ṣe gbàgbé àwọn Lefi tí ó ń gbé nì ìlú yín, nítorí pé wọn kò ní ìpín kan tàbí ogún kan tí í ṣe tiwọn.
And the Levite that is within your gates; you shall not forsake him; for he has no part nor inheritance with you.
28 Ní òpin ọdún mẹ́ta mẹ́ta, ẹ̀yin yóò mú gbogbo ìdámẹ́wàá ìre oko àwọn ọdún náà, kí ẹ kó wọn jọ ní ìlú yín.
At the end of three years you shall bring forth all the tithe of your increase the same year, and shall lay it up within your gates:
29 Kí àwọn Lefi (tí kò ní ìpín tàbí ogún tiwọn) àti àwọn àjèjì, àwọn aláìní baba, àti àwọn opó tí ń gbé ìlú yín lè wá, kí wọn sì jẹ kí wọn sì yó, kí Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ le è bùkún fún ọ, nínú gbogbo iṣẹ́ ọwọ́ rẹ.
And the Levite, (because he has no part nor inheritance with you, ) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within your gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.
