< Deuteronomy 10 >
1 Nígbà náà ni Olúwa wí fún mi pé, “Gbé wàláà òkúta méjì bí i ti àkọ́kọ́ kí o sì gòkè tọ̀ mí wá. Kí o sì tún fi igi kan àpótí kan.
“At that time, the Lord said to me: ‘Hew for yourself two tablets of stone, like those that were before, and ascend to me on the mountain. And you shall make an ark of wood.
2 Èmi yóò sì kọ ọ̀rọ̀ tí ó wà lára wàláà àkọ́kọ́ tí ìwọ fọ́, sára wàláà wọ̀nyí. Ìwọ yóò sì fi wọ́n sínú àpótí náà.”
And I will write on the tablets the words which were on those that you broke before, and you shall place them in the ark.’
3 Mo sì kan àpótí náà pẹ̀lú igi kasia, mo sì gbẹ́ wàláà òkúta méjì náà jáde bí i ti ìṣáájú. Mo sì gòkè lọ pẹ̀lú wàláà méjèèjì lọ́wọ́ mí.
And so, I made an ark of setim wood. And when I had hewn two tablets of stone like the former, I ascended onto the mountain, having them in my hands.
4 Olúwa tún ohun tí ó ti kọ tẹ́lẹ̀ kọ sórí wàláà wọ̀nyí. Àwọn òfin mẹ́wẹ̀ẹ̀wá tí ó ti sọ fún un yín lórí òkè, láàrín iná, ní ọjọ́ ìpéjọpọ̀. Olúwa sì fi wọ́n fún mi.
And he wrote on the tablets, according to that which he had written before, the ten words, which the Lord spoke to you on the mountain from the midst of fire, when the people were assembled. And he gave them to me.
5 Mo sì sọ̀kalẹ̀ láti orí òkè náà, mo sì ki àwọn wàláà òkúta náà sínú àpótí tí mo ti kàn, bí Olúwa ti pàṣẹ fún mi, wọ́n sì wà níbẹ̀ di ìsinsin yìí.
And returning from the mountain, I descended and placed the tablets in the ark, which I had made, and they are still there even now, just as the Lord instructed me.
6 (Àwọn ará Israẹli sì gbéra láti kànga àwọn ará Jaakani dé Mosera. Níbí ni Aaroni kú sí, tí a sì sin ín, Eleasari ọmọ rẹ̀ sì rọ́pò rẹ̀ bí i àlùfáà.
Then the sons of Israel moved their camp, from Beeroth among the sons of Jaakan, into Moserah, where Aaron died and was buried, and where his son Eleazar was installed in the priesthood in his place.
7 Láti ibẹ̀ ni wọ́n ti rìn lọ sí Gudgoda, títí dé Jotbata, ilẹ̀ tí o kún fún odò tí ó ń sàn.
From there, they went into Gudgodah. From that place, they set out and camped at Jotbathah, in a land of waters and torrents.
8 Ní ìgbà yìí ni Olúwa yan àwọn ẹ̀yà Lefi láti máa ru àpótí ẹ̀rí Olúwa, láti máa dúró níwájú Olúwa láti ṣe iṣẹ́ ìránṣẹ́, àti láti fi orúkọ Olúwa súre bí wọ́n ti ń ṣe títí di òní yìí.
At that time, he separated the tribe of Levi, so that he would carry the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and stand before him in the ministry, and speak blessings in his name, even to the present day.
9 Ìdí nìyí tí àwọn ẹ̀yà Lefi kò fi ní ìpín tàbí ogún kan láàrín àwọn arákùnrin wọn. Olúwa ni ogún wọn gẹ́gẹ́ bí Olúwa Ọlọ́run ti sọ fún un yín.)
As a result, Levi has no portion or possession with his brothers. For the Lord himself is his possession, just as the Lord your God promised him.
10 Mo tún dúró ní orí òkè náà fún ogójì ọ̀sán àti ogójì òru, bí mo ti ṣe ní ìgbà àkọ́kọ́, Olúwa sì gbọ́ tèmi ní àkókò yìí bákan náà. Kì í ṣe ìfẹ́ rẹ̀ láti run yín.
Then I stood on the mountain, as before, for forty days and nights. And the Lord heeded me at this time also, and he was not willing to destroy you.
11 Olúwa sọ fún mi pé, “Lọ darí àwọn ènìyàn wọ̀nyí ní ọ̀nà wọn, kí wọn bá à lè wọ ilẹ̀ náà, kí wọn sì gba ilẹ̀ tí mo ti búra fún àwọn baba wọn láti fún wọn.”
And he said to me: ‘Go forth and walk before the people, so that they may enter and possess the land, which I swore to their fathers that I would deliver to them.’
12 Nísinsin yìí ìwọ Israẹli, kín ni ohun tí Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ béèrè lọ́wọ́ rẹ? Bí kò ṣe kí ìwọ bẹ̀rù Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ àti láti máa rìn ní gbogbo ọ̀nà rẹ̀, láti fẹ́ràn rẹ̀, láti fi gbogbo ọkàn rẹ sin Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ ọkàn àti àyà rẹ,
And now, O Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you? Only that you fear the Lord your God, and walk in his ways, and love him, and serve the Lord your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul,
13 àti láti máa kíyèsi àṣẹ àti ìlànà Olúwa tí mo ń fún ọ lónìí, fún ìre ara à rẹ.
and that you keep the commandments of the Lord, and his ceremonies, which I am instructing to you this day, so that it may be well with you.
14 Bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ wí pé Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín ni ó ni ọ̀run àní àwọn ọ̀run tó ga ju ayé àti ohun gbogbo tí ó wà nínú rẹ̀.
Lo, heaven belongs to the Lord your God, and the heaven of heaven, and the earth, and all the things that are within these.
15 Síbẹ̀ Olúwa sì tún fi ìfẹ́ rẹ̀ hàn fún àwọn baba ńlá a yín, Ó sì fẹ́ wọn Ó sì yan ẹ̀yin ọmọ wọn láti borí gbogbo orílẹ̀-èdè títí di òní.
Now the Lord was closely joined to your fathers, and he loved them, and he chose their offspring after them, that is, you yourselves, out of all the nations, just as is being proven today.
16 Ẹ kọ ọkàn yín ní ilà, kí ẹ má sì ṣe jẹ́ olórí kunkun mọ́ láti òní lọ.
Therefore, circumcise the foreskin of your heart, and no longer stiffen your neck.
17 Torí pé Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín, ni Ọlọ́run àwọn ọlọ́run àti Olúwa àwọn olúwa. Ọlọ́run alágbára, tí ó tóbi tí ó sì lẹ́rù, tí kì í ṣe ojúsàájú kì í sì í gba àbẹ̀tẹ́lẹ̀.
For the Lord your God himself is the God of gods, and the Lord of lords, a God great and powerful and terrible, who favors no person and accepts no bribe.
18 Ó máa ń gbẹjọ́ aláìní baba àti opó rò, Ó fẹ́ràn àjèjì, Òun fi aṣọ àti oúnjẹ fún wọn.
He accomplishes judgment for the orphan and the widow. He loves the sojourner, and he gives him food as well as clothing.
19 Ẹ gbọdọ̀ fẹ́ràn àwọn àjèjì, torí pé ẹ̀yin pẹ̀lú ti jẹ́ àjèjì rí ní Ejibiti.
Therefore, you also should love sojourners, for you also were new arrivals in the land of Egypt.
20 Ẹ bẹ̀rù Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín, ẹ sì máa sìn ín. Ẹ dìímú ṣinṣin, kí ẹ sì búra ní orúkọ rẹ̀.
You shall fear the Lord your God, and him alone shall you serve. You shall cling to him, and you shall swear by his name.
21 Òun ni ìyìn in yín, Òun sì ni Ọlọ́run yín, tí ó ṣe àwọn iṣẹ́ ìyanu ńlá àti ohun ẹ̀rù, tí ẹ fojú ara yín rí.
He is your praise and your God. He has done for you these great and terrible things, which your eyes have seen.
22 Àádọ́rin péré ni àwọn baba ńlá a yín tí ó sọ̀kalẹ̀ lọ sí Ejibiti, ṣùgbọ́n Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín ti mú un yín pọ̀ sí i ní iye bí àwọn ìràwọ̀ ojú ọ̀run.
As seventy souls, your fathers descended into Egypt. And now, behold, the Lord your God has multiplied you to be like the stars of heaven.”
