< Daniel 8 >

1 Nígbà tí ó di ọdún kẹta ìjọba Belṣassari ọba, èmi Daniẹli rí ìran kan èyí tí mo ti rí tẹ́lẹ̀.
In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar a vision appeared to me, [even to] me, Daniel, after that which appeared to me at the first.
2 Nínú ìran náà, mo rí ara mi nínú ilé ìṣọ́ ní Susa ní agbègbè ìjọba Elamu: nínú ìran náà mo wà lẹ́gbẹ̀ẹ́ odò Ulai.
And I saw in a vision; and it came to pass, when I saw, that I [was] at Shushan [in] the palace, which [is] in the province of Elam; and I saw in a vision, and I was by the river Ulai.
3 Mo wo òkè mo sì rí àgbò kan tí ó ní ìwo méjì níwájú mi, ó dúró sí ẹ̀gbẹ́ odò Ulai, àwọn ìwo náà sì gùn. Ṣùgbọ́n ọ̀kan gùn ju èkejì lọ, èyí tí ó gùn jù ni ó yọ jáde kẹ́yìn.
Then I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and behold, there stood before the river a ram which had [two] horns: and the [two] horns [were] high; but one [was] higher than the other, and the higher came up last.
4 Mo rí àgbò náà ó ń kàn sí ìhà ìwọ̀-oòrùn, sí àríwá, àti sí gúúsù, kò sí ẹranko kankan tí ó le è dojúkọ ọ́, kò sí ẹnìkan tí ó le è yọ ọ́ kúrò lọ́wọ́ agbára rẹ̀, ó ń ṣe bí ó ti wù ú, ó sì di alágbára.
I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither [was there any] that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great.
5 Bí mo ṣe ń ronú nípa èyí, lójijì ni òbúkọ kan tí ó ní ìwo láàrín ojú u rẹ̀ méjèèjì jáde láti ìhà ìwọ̀-oòrùn, ó la gbogbo ayé kọjá láìfi ara kan ilẹ̀.
And as I was considering, behold, a he-goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat [had] a notable horn between his eyes.
6 Ó tọ àgbò tí ó ni ìwo méjì náà wá, èyí tí mo rí tó dúró sí ẹ̀gbẹ́ odò Ulai, ó sì dojúkọ ọ́ pẹ̀lú ìrunú tí ó lágbára.
And he came to the ram that had [two] horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran to him in the fury of his power.
7 Mo rí i tí ó fi ìtara kọlu àgbò náà, ó lu àgbò náà bolẹ̀, ó sì ṣẹ́ ìwo rẹ̀ méjèèjì. Àgbò náà kò sì ní agbára láti dojúkọ ọ́, Òbúkọ náà kàn án mọ́lẹ̀, ó sì fi ẹsẹ̀ tẹ̀ ẹ́ mọ́lẹ̀, kò sì ṣí ẹni tí ó lè gba àgbò náà là kúrò lọ́wọ́ agbára rẹ̀.
And I saw him come close to the ram, and he was moved with anger against him, and smote the ram, and broke his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.
8 Òbúkọ náà sì di alágbára púpọ̀, ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí ó dé góńgó, agbára rẹ̀ ru sókè, ìwo ńlá a rẹ̀ sì ṣẹ́ dànù, ní ipò o rẹ̀, ìwo mẹ́rin mìíràn hù, ó sì yọrí sí ìhà igun mẹ́rẹ̀ẹ̀rin ọ̀run.
Therefore the he-goat became very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and in its stead came up four notable ones towards the four winds of heaven.
9 Lára ọ̀kan nínú wọn, ìwo mìíràn yọ jáde, ó kékeré, ṣùgbọ́n ó dàgbà nínú agbára sí ìhà gúúsù, àti sí ìhà ìlà-oòrùn àti sí ilẹ̀ dídára.
And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which became exceeding great, towards the south, and towards the east, and towards the pleasant [land].
10 Ó sì dàgbà títí ó fi kan ẹgbẹ́ ogun ọ̀run, ó sì jù lára àwọn ẹgbẹ́ ogun ọ̀run sí ayé ó sì tẹ̀ wọ́n mọ́lẹ̀,
And it grew great, [even] to the host of heaven; and it cast down [some] of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them.
11 ó sì gbé ara rẹ̀ ga gẹ́gẹ́ bí ọmọ-aládé ẹgbẹ́ ogun ọ̀run; ó sì mú ẹbọ ojoojúmọ́ kúrò lọ́dọ̀ rẹ̀, ó sì gba ààyè ibi mímọ́ rẹ̀.
Yes, he magnified [himself] even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily [sacrifice] was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.
12 A fún un ní ẹgbẹ́ ogun ọ̀run àti ẹbọ ojoojúmọ́ nítorí ìwà ọlọ̀tẹ̀ ẹ rẹ̀, ó sọ òtítọ́ nù nínú gbogbo ohun tó ṣe.
And a host was given [him] against the daily [sacrifice] by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practiced, and prospered.
13 Nígbà náà, ni mo gbọ́ tí ẹni mímọ́ ń sọ̀rọ̀, àti ẹni mímọ́ mìíràn sọ̀rọ̀ fún un pé, “Yóò ti pẹ́ tó tí ìran yìí yóò fi wá sí ìmúṣẹ—ìran nípa ẹbọ ojoojúmọ́, ìṣọ̀tẹ̀ tí ó mú ìsọdahoro wa, àní láti fi ibi mímọ́ àti ogun ọ̀run fún ni ní ìtẹ̀mọ́lẹ̀?”
Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said to that certain [saint] who spoke, How long [shall be] the vision [concerning] the daily [sacrifice], and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?
14 Ó sọ fún mi pé, “Yóò gbà tó ẹgbọ̀kànlá lé lọ́gọ́rùn-ún alẹ́ àti òwúrọ̀; lẹ́yìn náà ni a ó tún ibi mímọ́ yà sí mímọ́.”
And he said to me, Until two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.
15 Nígbà tí èmi Daniẹli, ń wo ìran náà, mo sì ń fẹ́ kí ó yé mi, ẹnìkan tí ó sì dúró níwájú mi.
And it came to pass, when I, [even] I Daniel, had seen the vision, and sought for the meaning, then behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man.
16 Mo gbọ́ ohùn ènìyàn ní ẹ̀gbẹ́ Ulai, tí ó ń ké pé “Gabrieli, sọ ìtumọ̀ ìran náà fún ọkùnrin yìí.”
And I heard a man's voice between [the banks of] Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this [man] to understand the vision.
17 Bí ó ṣe súnmọ́ ibi tí mo dúró sí, ẹ̀rù bà mí, mo sì dọ̀bálẹ̀. Ó ń sọ fún mi pé, “Ọmọ ènìyàn, jẹ́ kí ó yé ọ pé ìran náà ń sọ nípa ìgbà ìkẹyìn ni.”
So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said to me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end [shall be] the vision.
18 Bí ó ṣe ń bá mi sọ̀rọ̀, mo ti sùn lọ fọnfọn, bí mo ṣe da ojú bolẹ̀. Nígbà náà ni ó fi ọwọ́ kàn mí, ó sì gbé mi dúró lórí ẹsẹ̀ mi.
Now as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on my face towards the ground: but he touched me, and set me upright.
19 Ó sọ wí pé, “Èmi yóò sọ ohun tí yóò ṣẹlẹ̀ ní ìkẹyìn ní ìgbà ìbínú, nítorí ìran náà jẹ mọ́ àkókò ohun tí a yàn nígbà ìkẹyìn.
And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end [shall be].
20 Àgbò oníwo méjì tí o rí, òun ni ó dúró gẹ́gẹ́ bí àwọn ọba Media àti Persia.
The ram which thou sawest having [two] horns [are] the kings of Media and Persia.
21 Òbúkọ onírun náà ni ọba Giriki, ìwo ńlá ti ó wà láàrín ojú u rẹ̀ ni ọba àkọ́kọ́.
And the rough goat [is] the king of Grecia: and the great horn that [is] between his eyes [is] the first king.
22 Ìwo mẹ́rin mìíràn sì dìde dúró dípò ọ̀kan tí ó ṣẹ́, èyí dúró gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìjọba mẹ́rin tí yóò dìde nínú orílẹ̀-èdè náà, ṣùgbọ́n wọn kì yóò ní ní irú agbára kan náà.
Now that being broken, whereas four stood up in its place, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power.
23 “Ní ìgbà ìkẹyìn ìjọba wọn, nígbà tí àwọn oníwà búburú bá dé ní kíkún, ni ọba kan yóò dìde, tí ojú rẹ̀ le koko, tí ó sì mòye ọ̀rọ̀ àrékérekè.
And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.
24 Yóò di alágbára, ṣùgbọ́n tí kì í ṣe nípa agbára rẹ̀. Yóò sì máa ṣe ìparun tí yóò ya ni lẹ́nu, yóò sì máa ṣe àṣeyọrí nínú ohun gbogbo tó ń ṣe. Yóò sì run àwọn alágbára àti àwọn ènìyàn mímọ́.
And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.
25 Nípa àrékérekè rẹ̀, yóò mú kí ẹ̀tàn gbèrú, yóò gbé ara rẹ̀ ga nínú ọkàn rẹ̀, nígbà tí wọ́n rò wí pé àlàáfíà dé, yóò sì pa àwọn ènìyàn run, nígbà tí wọn kò rò tẹ́lẹ̀, yóò sì lòdì sí olórí àwọn ọmọ-aládé, síbẹ̀, a ó pa á run ṣùgbọ́n kì í ṣe nípa agbára ènìyàn.
And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify [himself] in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.
26 “Ìran alẹ́ àti ti òwúrọ̀, tí a fihàn ọ́ jẹ́ òtítọ́, ṣùgbọ́n pa ìran náà mọ́, nítorí pé, ó jẹ mọ́ ti ọjọ́ iwájú.”
And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told [is] true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it [shall be] for many days.
27 Èmi Daniẹli sì ṣe àárẹ̀ fún ọjọ́ mélòó kan. Nígbà náà, mo dìde, mo sì ń bá iṣẹ́ ọba lọ. Ìran náà sì bà mí lẹ́rù, kò sì yé mi.
And I Daniel fainted, and was sick [certain] days; afterward I rose, and did the king's business; and I was astonished at the vision, but none understood [it].
