Daniel 5
1 Belṣassari, ọba ṣe àsè ńlá fún ẹgbẹ̀rún kan nínú àwọn ọlọ́lá rẹ̀, ó sì mu wáìnì pẹ̀lú u wọn.
Belshazzar the king has made a great feast to one thousand of his great men, and before the one thousand he is drinking wine;
2 Bí Belṣassari ṣe ń mu wáìnì, ó pàṣẹ pé kí wọn kó kọ́ọ̀bù wúrà àti ti fàdákà wá, èyí tí Nebukadnessari baba rẹ̀ kó wá láti inú tẹmpili ní Jerusalẹmu, kí ọba àti àwọn ọlọ́lá rẹ̀, àwọn ìyàwó àti àwọn àlè rẹ̀ kí ó ba à le fi mu wáìnì.
Belshazzar has said—while tasting the wine—to bring in the vessels of gold and of silver that his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken from the temple that [is] in Jerusalem, that the king may drink with them, and his great men, his wives, and his concubines.
3 Wọ́n sì kó kọ́ọ̀bù wúrà àti fàdákà àti fàdákà èyí tí wọ́n kó jáde láti inú tẹmpili, ilé Ọlọ́run ní Jerusalẹmu, ọba àti àwọn ìjòyè rẹ̀, àwọn ìyàwó àti àwọn àlè rẹ̀, sì fi mu wáìnì.
Then they have brought in the vessels of gold that had been taken out of the temple of the house of God that [is] in Jerusalem, and the king and his great men, his wives and his concubines, have drunk with them;
4 Bí wọ́n ṣe ń mu wáìnì bẹ́ẹ̀ ni wọ́n ń yin òrìṣà wúrà àti fàdákà, ti idẹ, irin, igi àti òkúta.
they have drunk wine, and have praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of bronze, of iron, of wood, and of stone.
5 Lójijì, ìka ọwọ́ ènìyàn jáde wá, ó sì ń kọ̀wé sára ẹfun ògiri ní ẹ̀gbẹ́ ibi tí fìtílà ń dúró ní ààfin ọba. Ọba ń wo ọwọ́ náà bí ó ṣe ń kọ ọ́.
In that hour fingers of a man’s hand have come forth, and they are writing in front of the lampstand, on the plaster of the wall of the king’s palace: and the king is seeing the extremity of the hand that is writing;
6 Ojú ọba sì yí padà, ẹ̀rù sì bà á, tó bẹ́ẹ̀ tí orúnkún ẹsẹ̀ rẹ̀ méjèèjì rẹ̀ fi ń gbá ara wọn.
then the king’s countenance has changed, and his thoughts trouble him, and the joints of his loins are loosed, and his knees are striking against one another.
7 Ọba kígbe pé, kí wọn pe àwọn awòràwọ̀, àwọn onídán, àti àwọn aláfọ̀ṣẹ wá, ọba sì sọ fún àwọn amòye Babeli pé, “Ẹnikẹ́ni tí ó bá lè ka àkọsílẹ̀ yìí kí ó sì sọ ìtumọ̀ rẹ̀, ẹni náà ni a ó fi aṣọ elése àlùkò wọ̀ àti ẹ̀gbà wúrà ni a ó fi sí ọrùn un rẹ̀, òun ni yóò sì ṣe olórí kẹta ní ìjọba à mi.”
The king calls mightily, to bring up the enchanters, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers. The king has answered and said to the wise men of Babylon, that, “Any man who reads this writing, and shows me its interpretation, he puts on purple, and a bracelet of gold [is] on his neck, and he rules third in the kingdom.”
8 Nígbà náà ni gbogbo àwọn amòye ọba wọ ilé, ṣùgbọ́n, wọn kò le è ka àkọsílẹ̀ náà tàbí sọ ìtumọ̀ rẹ̀ fún ọba.
Then all the wise men of the king are coming up, and they are not able to read the writing, and to make known the interpretation to the king;
9 Nígbà náà ni Belṣassari ọba bínú gidigidi, ojú u rẹ̀ sì túbọ̀ dàrú sí i. Ẹ̀rù sì ba àwọn ìjòyè Belṣassari.
then King Belshazzar is greatly troubled, and his countenance is changing in him, and his great men are perplexed.
10 Nígbà tí ayaba gbọ́ ohùn ọba àti àwọn ọlọ́lá rẹ̀, ó wá ilé àsè wá. Ó wí pé, “Kí ọba kí ó pẹ́! Má ṣe jẹ́ kí inú rẹ bàjẹ́, má sì ṣe jẹ́ kí ojú u rẹ fàro.
The queen, on account of the words of the king and his great men, has come up to the banquet-house. The queen has answered and said, “O king, live for all ages; do not let your thoughts trouble you, nor your countenance be changed:
11 Ọkùnrin kan wà ní ìjọba à rẹ, ẹni tí ẹ̀mí ọlọ́run mímọ́ ń gbé inú rẹ̀. Ní ìgbà ayé e baba à rẹ, òun ni ó ní ojú inú, òye àti ìmọ̀ bí i ti ọlọ́run òun ni ọba Nebukadnessari, baba rẹ̀ fi jẹ olórí àwọn apidán, awòràwọ̀, apògèdè àti aláfọ̀ṣẹ.
there is a man in your kingdom in whom [is] the spirit of the holy gods: and in the days of your father, light, and understanding, and wisdom—as the wisdom of the gods—was found in him; and your father King Nebuchadnezzar, chief of the scribes, enchanters, Chaldeans, soothsayers, established him—your father, O king—
12 Ọkùnrin náà ni Daniẹli ẹni tí ọba ń pè ní Belṣassari, ó ní ẹ̀mí tí ó tayọ, ìmọ̀ àti òye, àti agbára láti túmọ̀ àlá, ó máa ń ṣe àlàyé àlá àti àwọn ọ̀rọ̀ tí ó bá da ojú rú, ránṣẹ́ pè é, yóò sì sọ nǹkan tí àkọsílẹ̀ ìwé náà túmọ̀ sí.”
because that an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and showing of enigmas, and loosing of knots was found in him, in Daniel, whose name the king made Belteshazzar: now let Daniel be called, and the interpretation he shows.”
13 Nígbà náà ni a mú Daniẹli wá síwájú ọba, ọba sì sọ fún un wí pé, “Ṣé ìwọ ni Daniẹli, ọ̀kan lára àwọn tí baba mi mú ní ìgbèkùn láti Juda!
Then Daniel has been caused to come up before the king; the king has answered and said to Daniel, “You are that Daniel who [is] of the sons of the expulsion of Judah, whom my father the king brought in out of Judah?
14 Mo ti gbọ́ wí pé ẹ̀mí ọlọ́run ń gbé inú rẹ àti wí pé ìwọ ní ojú inú, òye, àti ọgbọ́n tí ó tayọ.
And I have heard of you, that the spirit of the gods [is] in you, and light, and understanding, and excellent wisdom have been found in you.
15 A ti mú àwọn amòye àti àwọn awòràwọ̀ wá sí iwájú mí kí wọn ba à le è wá ka àkọsílẹ̀ yìí kí wọn sì sọ ìtumọ̀ rẹ̀ fún mi, ṣùgbọ́n wọn kò le è sọ ìtumọ̀ ohun tí ó jẹ́.
And now, caused to come up before me have been the wise men, the enchanters, that they may read this writing, and its interpretation to cause me to know: and they are not able to show the interpretation of the thing:
16 Ṣùgbọ́n mo ti gbọ́ wí pé, ìwọ lè sọ ìtumọ̀, àti wí pé o lè yanjú àwọn ìṣòro tó lágbára. Tí o bá lè ka àkọsílẹ̀ ìwé yìí kí o sì sọ ìtumọ̀ rẹ̀, a ó fi aṣọ elése àlùkò wọ̀ ọ́ pẹ̀lú ẹ̀gbà wúrà ni a ó fi sí ọ lọ́rùn, a ó sì fi ọ́ ṣe olórí kẹta ní ìjọba mi.”
and I have heard of you, that you are able to give interpretations, and to loose knots: now, behold—you are able to read the writing, and its interpretation to cause me to know—purple you put on, and a bracelet of gold [is] on your neck, and you rule third in the kingdom.”
17 Nígbà náà ni Daniẹli dá ọba lóhùn wí pé, “Fi ẹ̀bùn rẹ pamọ́ fún ara rẹ, tàbí kí o fún ẹlòmíràn. Síbẹ̀ èmi yóò ka àkọsílẹ̀ náà fún ọba, èmi yóò sì sọ ìtumọ̀ rẹ̀.
Then Daniel has answered and said before the king, “Your gifts be to yourself, and give your fee to another; nevertheless, the writing I read to the king, and the interpretation I cause him to know;
18 “Ìwọ ọba, Ọlọ́run Ọ̀gá-ògo fún Nebukadnessari baba rẹ ní ìjọba, títóbi ògo àti ọlá.
you, O king, God Most High, a kingdom, and greatness, and glory, and honor, gave to your father Nebuchadnezzar:
19 Nítorí ipò ńlá tí a fi fún un, gbogbo ènìyàn orílẹ̀-èdè àti èdè gbogbo fi ń páyà tí wọ́n sì ń bẹ̀rù rẹ̀. Ó ń pa àwọn tí ó bá wù ú, ó sì ń dá àwọn tí ó bá wù ú sí, ó ń gbé àwọn tí ó bá wù ú ga, ó sì ń rẹ àwọn tí ó bá wù ú sílẹ̀.
and because of the greatness that He gave to him, all peoples, nations, and languages were trembling and fearing before him: whom he willed he was slaying, and whom he willed he was keeping alive, and whom he willed he was raising up, and whom he willed he was making low;
20 Ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí ọkàn rẹ̀ ga, tí ó sì le koko. Ó bẹ̀rẹ̀ sí i hùwà ìgbéraga, a mú u kúrò lórí ìtẹ́ ọba rẹ̀, a sì gba ògo rẹ̀ kúrò.
and when his heart was high, and his spirit was strong to act proudly, he has been caused to come down from the throne of his kingdom, and his glory they have caused to pass away from him,
21 A lé e kúrò láàrín ènìyàn, a sì fún un ní ọkàn ẹranko; ó sì ń gbé pẹ̀lú àwọn kẹ́tẹ́kẹ́tẹ́, ó sì ń jẹ koríko bí i ti màlúù; ìrì ọ̀run ṣì sẹ̀ sí ara rẹ̀, títí tó fi mọ̀ pé, Ọlọ́run Ọ̀gá-ògo ń jẹ ọba lórí ìjọba ọmọ ènìyàn, òun sì ń fi fún ẹni tí ó bá wù ú.
and he is driven from the sons of men, and his heart has been like with the beasts, and with the wild donkeys [is] his dwelling; they cause him to eat the herb like oxen, and by the dew of the heavens is his body wet, until he has known that God Most High is ruler in the kingdom of men, and whom He wills He raises up over it.
22 “Ṣùgbọ́n ìwọ ọmọ rẹ̀, Belṣassari, ìwọ kò rẹ ara à rẹ sílẹ̀, bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé ìwọ mọ nǹkan wọ̀nyí.
And you, his son, Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart, though all this you have known;
23 Dípò èyí, ìwọ gbé ara à rẹ ga sí Olúwa ọ̀run, a mú ohun èlò inú tẹmpili rẹ̀ wá sí iwájú rẹ, ìwọ àti àwọn ìjòyè rẹ, àwọn ìyàwó ò rẹ àti àwọn àlè rẹ fi ń mu wáìnì. Ìwọ ń yin àwọn òrìṣà fàdákà àti wúrà, idẹ, irin, igi àti ti òkúta, èyí tí kò lè ríran, tí kò le è gbọ́rọ̀ tàbí ní òye nǹkan kan. Ṣùgbọ́n ìwọ kò bu ọlá fún Ọlọ́run ẹni tó ni ẹ̀mí rẹ lọ́wọ́, tí ó sì mọ gbogbo ọ̀nà rẹ.
and against the Lord of the heavens you have lifted up yourself; and the vessels of His house they have brought in before you, and you, and your great men, your wives, and your concubines, are drinking wine with them, and gods of silver, and of gold, of bronze, of iron, of wood, and of stone, that are not seeing, nor hearing, nor knowing, you have praised: and the God in whose hand [is] your breath, and all your ways, Him you have not honored.
24 Nítorí náà, ó rán ọwọ́ tí ó kọ àkọlé yìí.
Then from before Him is the extremity of the hand sent, and the writing is noted down;
25 “Èyí ni àkọlé náà tí a kọ: Mene, mene, tekeli, peresini.
and this [is] the writing that is noted down: Numbered, Numbered, Weighed, and Divided.
26 “Èyí ni nǹkan tí ọ̀rọ̀ náà túmọ̀ sí: “Mene: Ọlọ́run ti ṣírò ọjọ́ ìjọba rẹ. Ó sì ti mú u wá sí òpin.
This [is] the interpretation of the thing: Numbered—God has numbered your kingdom, and has finished it.
27 “Tekeli: A ti gbé ọ lórí òsùwọ̀n, ìwọ kò sì tó ìwọ̀n.
Weighed—You are weighed in the balances, and have been found lacking.
28 “Peresini: A ti pín ìjọba rẹ a sì ti fi fún àwọn Media àti àwọn Persia.”
Divided—Your kingdom is divided, and it has been given to the Medes and Persians.”
29 Nígbà náà ni Belṣassari pàṣẹ pé kí a wọ Daniẹli ní aṣọ elése àlùkò, kí a sì fi ẹ̀gbà wúrà sí i lọ́rùn, a sì kéde rẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ bí olórí kẹta ní ìjọba rẹ̀.
Then Belshazzar has spoken, and they have clothed Daniel with purple, and a bracelet of gold [is] on his neck, and they have proclaimed concerning him that he is the third ruler in the kingdom.
30 Ní alẹ́ ọjọ́ náà ni a pa Belṣassari, ọba àwọn ara Kaldea.
In that night Belshazzar king of the Chaldeans is slain,
31 Dariusi ará Media sì gba ìjọba nígbà tí ó di ọmọ ọdún méjìlélọ́gọ́ta.
and Darius the Mede has received the kingdom when a son of sixty-two years.
