< Daniel 11 >

1 Ní ọdún kìn-ín-ní Dariusi ará Media, mo dúró láti tì í lẹ́yìn àti láti dáàbò bò ó.)
I, therefore, in the first year of Darius the Mede, was at my station to strengthen and embolden him;
2 “Ní ìsinsin yìí, mo sọ òtítọ́ fún ọ ọba mẹ́ta yóò dìde sí i ní Persia, àti ẹ̀kẹrin tí yóò jẹ́ ọlọ́rọ̀ ju gbogbo wọn lọ. Tí ó bá ti di alágbára nípa ọrọ̀ rẹ̀, yóò sì ru gbogbo wọn sókè lòdì sí ìjọba Giriki.
and, now, the truth, I will tell thee: —Lo! there are, yet three kings, to arise—belonging to Persia, and, the fourth, will amass greater riches than they all, and, when he hath strengthened himself in his riches, the whole, will stir up, the kingdom of Greece.
3 Nígbà náà ni ọba alágbára kan yóò fi ara hàn, yóò ṣe àkóso pẹ̀lú agbára ńlá, yóò sì ṣe bí ó ti wù ú.
And so a hero king, will arise, —and wield great authority, and do according to his own pleasure;
4 Lẹ́yìn ìgbà tí ó bá fi ara hàn tán, ìjọba rẹ̀ yóò fọ́, yóò sì pín sí mẹ́rin ní orígun mẹ́rẹ̀ẹ̀rin ayé, ìjọba náà kò sì ṣọ́wọ́ àwọn ìran rẹ̀ tàbí kí ó ní agbára tí ó ń lò tẹ́lẹ̀, nítorí, a ó fa ìjọba rẹ̀ tu a ó sì fi fún àwọn mìíràn.
but, when he hath arisen, his kingdom, shall be broken in pieces, and be divided, toward the four winds of the heavens, —but not to his own posterity, nor according to his own authority which he wielded, for his kingdom, shall be uprooted, even for others besides these.
5 “Ọba ìhà gúúsù yóò di alágbára ṣùgbọ́n ọ̀kan lára àwọn aláṣẹ rẹ̀ yóò di alágbára jù ú lọ, yóò sì ṣe àkóso ìjọba rẹ̀ pẹ̀lú agbára ńlá.
But a king of the south, will become strong, even from among his rulers, —and will prevail against him, and have authority, a great authority, shall his authority be.
6 Lẹ́yìn ọdún púpọ̀ wọn yóò dá májẹ̀mú àlàáfíà, ọmọbìnrin ọba gúúsù yóò lọ sí ọ̀dọ̀ ọba àríwá láti bá a dá májẹ̀mú àlàáfíà, ṣùgbọ́n òun kì yóò lè di agbára apá a rẹ̀ mú, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni òun kì yóò lè dádúró, ṣùgbọ́n a ó tẹrí i rẹ̀ ba àti àwọn tí ó mú un wá, àti ọmọ tí ó bí, àti ẹni tí ó ń mu lọ́kàn le ní gbogbo àkókò wọ̀nyí.
And, at the end of years, they will league together, yea, the daughter of the king of the south, will go in unto the king of the north, to make peace, but she shall not retain strength of arm, neither shall he stand, nor his arm, but she shall be delivered up—she herself, and they who brought her in, and he who begat her, and he that strengthened her in the times.
7 “Ọ̀kan lára àwọn ìdílé e rẹ̀, ọmọbìnrin ọba gúúsù yóò dìde láti gba ipò o rẹ̀. Yóò sì kọlu ogun ọba àríwá, yóò sì wó odi alágbára; yóò bá wọn jà yóò sì borí.
But one will stand up from the sprout of her roots, [in] his stead, —and he will enter the army, and enter into a fortress of the king of the north, and deal with them and shew himself strong;
8 Yóò gba òrìṣà wọn, ère dídá àti ohun èlò oníye lórí ti fàdákà àti ti wúrà, yóò sì kó wọn lọ sí Ejibiti. Fún ọdún díẹ̀ yóò fi ọba àríwá lọ́rùn sílẹ̀.
yea, even their gods, with their molten images, with their delightful vessels of silver and gold, with a host of captives, will he bring into Egypt, —and, he, will stand more, years, than the king of the north;
9 Nígbà náà, ni ọba àríwá yóò gbógun ti ilẹ̀ ọba, gúúsù, ṣùgbọ́n yóò padà sí Orílẹ̀-èdè, òun fúnra rẹ̀.
so will the king of the south, enter into the kingdom, and then return unto his own soil.
10 Àwọn ọmọ rẹ̀ yóò múra ogun wọn yóò kó ogun ńlá jọ, èyí tí a ó gbá lọ bí àgbàrá omi ńlá, yóò sì gbá a lọ títí dé ìlú olódi rẹ̀.
But, his sons, will rouse themselves to war, and gather together a multitude of large armies, but he will come on and on, and overflow and pass through, —and will return and wage war, up to his fortress.
11 “Nígbà náà ni ọba gúúsù yóò jáde pẹ̀lú ìbínú, yóò sì bá ọba àríwá jà, ẹni tí yóò kó ọmọ-ogun púpọ̀ jọ, ṣùgbọ́n ọba gúúsù yóò borí i wọn.
Then will the king of the south, be enraged, and go forth and fight with him, with the king of the north, —and will raise a great multitude, but the multitude, will be delivered, into his hand.
12 Nígbà tí a bá kó ogun náà lọ, ọba gúúsù yóò kún fún agbára, yóò sì pa ẹgbẹẹgbẹ̀rún ní ìpakúpa síbẹ̀ kì yóò ṣẹ́gun.
And, when he hath taken away the multitude, his heart, will be uplifted, —and he will cause tens of thousands to fall, but will not conquer.
13 Nítorí ọba àríwá yóò lọ kó ogun mìíràn jọ, tí ó pọ̀ ju ti àkọ́kọ́ lẹ́yìn ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ọdún, yóò jáde pẹ̀lú ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ogun tí ó ti dira ogun fún dáradára.
Then will the king of the north again raise a multitude, greater than the first, —and, at the end of the times—some years, he will come on and on with a great army, and with great substance.
14 “Ní àkókò ìgbà náà, ni ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ yóò dìde sí ọba gúúsù. Àwọn ọlọ̀tẹ̀ nínú àwọn ènìyàn an rẹ̀ yóò ṣọ̀tẹ̀ ní ìmúṣẹ ìran náà, ṣùgbọ́n wọn kì yóò borí.
And, in those times, many, will rise against the king of the south, —and, the sons of the oppressors of thy people, will exalt themselves to confirm the vision, but will be overthrown.
15 Nígbà náà ni ọba àríwá yóò wá yóò sì gbé ogun tì í, yóò sì kó ìlú olódi. Ogun ọba gúúsù kò ní ní agbára láti kọjú ìjà sí i; bẹ́ẹ̀ ni àwọn ọ̀wọ́ ogun tó dára jù kò ní ní agbára láti dúró.
Then will come in the king of the north, and cast up a rampart, and capture a city of strongholds, —and, the arms of the south, will not rise, nor the people of his chosen ones, and there shall be no strength to rise.
16 Ẹni tí ó gbóguntì í yóò máa ṣe bí ó ti wù ú, kò sì ṣí ẹni tí yóò le è dojúkọ ọ́. Yóò sì fún ara rẹ̀ ní ibùjókòó ní ilẹ̀ tí ó dára, yóò sì ní agbára láti bà á jẹ́.
So shall he that cometh against him do according to his own pleasure, and, none, shall stand before him, —therefore will he take his stand in the beautiful land, and it will languish and be exhausted in his hand.
17 Yóò pinnu láti wá pẹ̀lú agbára ìjọba rẹ̀, yóò sì ní májẹ̀mú àlàáfíà pẹ̀lú ọba gúúsù yóò sì fi ọmọbìnrin rẹ̀ fún un láti fẹ́ ẹ ní ìyàwó nítorí kí ó lè gba ìjọba, ṣùgbọ́n ète rẹ̀ yìí kì yóò dúró tàbí ṣe ìrànlọ́wọ́ fún un.
Then will he set his face to enter, with the might of all his kingdom, and, equitable terms with him, will make, —and, a daughter of women, will he give him to corrupt her, but she will not remain, nor, his, shall she become.
18 Nígbà náà ni yóò yí ara padà sí ilẹ̀ etí Òkun, yóò mú ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀, ṣùgbọ́n aláṣẹ kan yóò mú òpin bá àfojúdi rẹ̀, yóò sì yí àfojúdi rẹ̀ padà sí orí rẹ̀.
Then will he turn his face to the Coastlands, and will capture many, —but a commander, will bring to an end, his reproach against himself, that, his reproach, return not unto him.
19 Lẹ́yìn èyí, yóò sì yí padà sí ìlú olódi ti orílẹ̀-èdè òun fúnra rẹ̀, ṣùgbọ́n yóò kọsẹ̀ yóò sì ṣubú, a kì yóò sì rí i mọ́.
Therefore will he turn his face towards the fortresses of his land, —but he shall stagger and fall, and shall not be found.
20 “Arọ́pò rẹ̀ yóò rán agbowó orí kan jáde láti fi ìdí ipò ọlá ọba múlẹ̀ ṣùgbọ́n ní ìwọ̀n ọdún díẹ̀, a ó pa á run, kì yóò jẹ́ nípa ìbínú tàbí nínú ogun.
Then will rise up in his stead, one causing an exactor to pass through the ornament of the kingdom, —but, in a few days, shall he be broken in pieces, not with anger, nor in battle.
21 “Ẹni tí kò níláárí kan yóò rọ́pò rẹ̀, ẹni tí a kò tí ì fi ọlá ọba fún rí. Yóò sì gbógun sí ìjọba nígbà tí ọkàn àwọn ènìyàn balẹ̀ láìbẹ̀rù, yóò sì gbà á pẹ̀lú àrékérekè.
Then will rise up in his stead, one despised, and they will not lay upon him the dignity of the kingdom, —but he will come in unexpectedly, and strengthen the kingdom by flatteries;
22 Nígbà náà, ni a ó gbà ogunlọ́gọ̀ ogun kúrò níwájú u rẹ̀, pẹ̀lú òun àti ọmọ-aládé ti májẹ̀mú náà ni a ó parun.
and, the arms of an overflowing flood, will sweep all before him, and they shall be broken in pieces, —moreover also, the prince of a covenant;
23 Lẹ́yìn tí ó wá ṣe ìpinnu pẹ̀lú u rẹ̀, yóò hùwà ẹ̀tàn, pẹ̀lú ìwọ̀nba ènìyàn kékeré ni yóò gba ìjọba.
and, by reason of the leaguing against him, he will work deceitfully, and will come up and become strong, with a small nation.
24 Nígbà tí àwọn agbègbè tí ó lọ́rọ̀ gidigidi wà láìbẹ̀rù ni yóò gbóguntì wọ́n, yóò ṣe ohun tí baba rẹ̀ tàbí baba ńlá rẹ̀ kò ṣe rí, yóò pín ìkógun ẹrù àti ọrọ̀ fún àwọn ọmọ lẹ́yìn in rẹ̀. Yóò pète àti bi àwọn ìlú olódi ṣubú, ṣùgbọ́n fún ìgbà díẹ̀ ni.
Unexpectedly, even into the rich places of the province, will he enter, and will do what neither his fathers nor his father’s fathers had done, prey and spoil and substance—among them, will he scatter, —and, against strongholds, will he devise plots even until a (convenient) time.
25 “Pẹ̀lú ogun púpọ̀, yóò sì ru agbára rẹ̀ àti ìgboyà rẹ̀ sókè sí ọba gúúsù. Ọba gúúsù yóò dìde ogun pẹ̀lú ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ọmọ-ogun tí ó lágbára gidigidi, ṣùgbọ́n kò ní le è dúró, nítorí ọ̀tẹ̀ tí ó gbèrò sí i.
Then will he stir up his strength and his heart, against the king of the south, with a great army, and, the king of the south, will wage war, with a great and exceedingly mighty army, —but will make no stand, for they will devise against him plots;
26 Àwọn tí ó jẹ nínú oúnjẹ ọba yóò gbìyànjú láti parun, a ó gbá ogun rẹ̀ dànù, ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ni yóò ṣubú sí ogun.
and, they who have been eating his delicacies, will break him in pieces, and, his army, will he overwhelm like a flood, —and many wounded, will fall.
27 Àwọn ọba méjèèjì, ọkàn wọn tẹ̀ sí búburú, wọn yóò jókòó lórí tábìlì kan, wọn yóò máa parọ́ sí ara wọn, ṣùgbọ́n kò ní yọrí sí nǹkan kan nítorí òpin yóò wá ní àsìkò tí a yàn.
Now, as for the two kings, their heart, will be set on acting wickedly, and, at one table, will they speak, falsehood, —but it shall not succeed, for yet is the end for an appointed time.
28 Ọba àríwá yóò padà sí ilẹ̀ rẹ̀ pẹ̀lú ọrọ̀ púpọ̀, ṣùgbọ́n ọkàn rẹ̀ yóò lòdì sí májẹ̀mú mímọ́, yóò sì ṣiṣẹ́ lòdì sí i, yóò sì padà sí orílẹ̀-èdè òun fúnra rẹ̀.
So then he will return to his own land, with great substance, with, his heart, set upon a holy covenant; yea he will act with effect, and return to his own land.
29 “Ní àsìkò tí a yàn, yóò gbógun sí gúúsù lẹ́ẹ̀kan sí i, ṣùgbọ́n ní ìgbà yí àyọríṣí yóò yàtọ̀ sí ti ìṣáájú.
At the appointed time, will he again enter the south, —but it shall not be like the former, nor like the latter.
30 Nítorí pé, ọkọ̀ ojú omi àwọn ilẹ̀ etídò ìwọ̀-oòrùn yóò takò ó, ọkàn rẹ̀ yóò sì pami. Nígbà náà, ni yóò padà, yóò sì bínú sí májẹ̀mú mímọ́, yóò sì padà, yóò sì fi ojúrere hàn sí àwọn tí ó kọ májẹ̀mú mímọ́ náà.
Then will come in against him the ships of Cyprus, and he will be disheartened, and again have indignation against a holy covenant, and will act with effect, —and again gain intelligence, concerning them who are forsaking a holy covenant.
31 “Agbára ọmọ-ogun rẹ̀ yóò dìde láti ba ohun mímọ́ ilé olódi tẹmpili jẹ́, yóò sì pa ẹbọ ojoojúmọ́ rẹ́. Nígbà náà ni wọn yóò gbé ìríra tí ó fa ìsọdahoro kalẹ̀.
And, arms, from him, will arise, —and will profane the sanctuary, the fortress, and will set aside the continual [ascending-sacrifice], and place the horrid abomination that astoundeth.
32 Pẹ̀lú irú àwọn tí ń ṣe búburú sí májẹ̀mú ní yóò fi ọ̀rọ̀ ìpọ́nni mú ṣọ̀tẹ̀, ṣùgbọ́n, àwọn tí ó mọ Ọlọ́run wọn yóò mú ọkàn le. Wọn yóò sì máa ṣe iṣẹ́ agbára.
And, them who are ready to deal lawlessly with a covenant, will he make impious by flatteries, —but, the people who know their God, will be strong and act with effect.
33 “Àwọn tí ó mòye yóò máa kọ́ ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀, ṣùgbọ́n fún ìgbà díẹ̀, wọn yóò máa ṣubú nípa idà tàbí kí a jó wọn tàbí ìgbèkùn tàbí nípa ìkógun.
And, they who make the people wise, will impart understanding to the many, —yet shall they be brought low, by sword and by flame, by captivity and by prey, for some days;
34 Nígbà tí wọ́n bá ṣubú, wọn yóò rí ìrànlọ́wọ́ díẹ̀, ọ̀pọ̀ àwọn tó ṣe aláìṣòótọ́ yóò sì darapọ̀ mọ́ wọn.
but, when they are brought low, they shall be helped with a little help, —and many, will join themselves unto them, by flatteries;
35 Lára àwọn tí ó mòye yóò kọsẹ̀, nítorí kí a ba à tún wọn ṣe, wọ́n di mímọ́ àti aláìlábàwọ́n títí di ìgbà ìkẹyìn nítorí yóò sì wá ní àkókò tí a yàn.
and, of them who make wise, some shall be brought low, to refine them, and to purify and make white, up to the time of the end, —for yet is it for an appointed time.
36 “Ọba yóò ṣe bí ó ti wù ú yóò sì gbé ara rẹ̀ ga, ju gbogbo òrìṣà lọ, yóò máa sọ àwọn ọ̀rọ̀ tí kò-ṣe-é-gbọ́-létí sí Ọlọ́run àwọn Ọlọ́run, yóò sì máa yege títí àkókò ìbínú yóò fi parí, nítorí ohun tí a ti pinnu yóò ṣẹlẹ̀.
And the king, will do according to his own pleasure, and will exalt himself, and magnify himself against every GOD, yea, against the GOD of GODS, will he speak wonderful things, —and will succeed, until exhausted is the indignation, for, what is decreed, must be done;
37 Òun kò ní ka òrìṣà àwọn baba rẹ̀ sí tàbí èyí tí àwọn fẹ́, òun kò ní ka nǹkan kan sí, ṣùgbọ́n yóò gbé ara rẹ̀ ga ju gbogbo wọn lọ.
and, for the god of his fathers, will he have no regard, nor, for the delight of women, nor for any god, will he have regard, —for, against all, will he magnify himself.
38 Ṣùgbọ́n dípò wọn, yóò bu ọlá fún òrìṣà àwọn ìlú olódi: òrìṣà tí àwọn baba rẹ̀ kò mọ̀ ni yóò bu ọlá fún pẹ̀lú wúrà àti fàdákà, pẹ̀lú òkúta iyebíye àti ẹ̀bùn tí ó lówó lórí.
Howbeit, to the god of the fortresses, in his place, will he give honour, —even to a god whom his fathers, knew not, will he give honour, with gold and with silver and with precious stones and with articles of delight.
39 Yóò kọlu àwọn ìlú olódi tí ó lágbára pẹ̀lú ìrànlọ́wọ́ òrìṣà àjèjì, yóò sì bu ọláńlá fún ẹni tí ó jẹ́wọ́ rẹ̀. Yóò mú wọn ṣe alákòóso lórí ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ènìyàn, yóò sì pín ilẹ̀ náà fún wọn gẹ́gẹ́ bí èrè.
And he will prepare, for the strongholds of the fortress of the sea, the people of an alien god, whom he will acknowledge—will greatly honour, —and will give them authority over the many, and, the soil, will he apportion for a price.
40 “Ní ìgbà ìkẹyìn, ọba gúúsù yóò gbé ogun de sí i, ọba àríwá yóò sì jáde bí ìjì láti kọlù ú pẹ̀lú u kẹ̀kẹ́ ogun àti ẹlẹ́ṣin àti ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ọkọ̀ ojú omi. Yóò gbógun wọ orílẹ̀-èdè púpọ̀, yóò sì bo wọn mọ́lẹ̀ bí ìkún omi.
And, in the time of the end, will the king of the south, push at him, and the king of the north, will rush against him, with chariots and with horsemen, and with many ships, —and he will enter the lands, and overwhelm and pass over;
41 Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni yóò sì tún gbógun ti ilẹ̀ ológo náà pẹ̀lú, ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ orílẹ̀-èdè yóò ṣubú, ṣùgbọ́n Edomu, Moabu àti àwọn olórí Ammoni yóò bọ́ lọ́wọ́ rẹ̀.
yea he will enter the beautiful land, and, many [lands], shall be laid low, —but, these, shall be delivered out of his hand, Edom and Moab, and the first portion of the sons of Ammon;
42 Yóò lo agbára rẹ̀ lórí ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ orílẹ̀-èdè; Ejibiti kì yóò là.
yea he will thrust forth his hand against the lands, —and, the land of Egypt, shall have no deliverance;
43 Yóò gba àkóso ìṣúra wúrà àti fàdákà àti gbogbo ọrọ̀ Ejibiti, pẹ̀lú ti Libia àti Kuṣi nígbà tí ó mú wọn tẹríba.
and he will have authority over the treasures of gold and silver, and over all the delightful things of Egypt, —with Libyans and Ethiopians among his followers;
44 Ṣùgbọ́n ìròyìn láti ìlà-oòrùn àti láti ìwọ̀-oòrùn yóò mú ìdáríjì bá a, yóò sì fi ìbínú ńlá jáde lọ láti parun, àti láti pa ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ run pátápátá.
but, tidings, will terrify him, out of the east, and out of the north, —therefore will he go forth with great fury, to destroy and to devote many;
45 Yóò sì pàgọ́ ọ rẹ̀ láàrín Òkun kọjú sí àárín òkè mímọ́ ológo. Síbẹ̀ yóò wá sí òpin rẹ̀, ẹnìkan kò ní ràn án lọ́wọ́.
and will plant his palace-home between the seas, towards the beautiful holy mountain, but shall come to his end, with none to help him.
