< Amos 9 >
1 Mo rí Olúwa, ó dúró ní ẹ̀bá pẹpẹ, ó sì wí pé: “Lu orí àwọn àtẹ́rígbà ìlẹ̀kùn kí àwọn òpó kí ó lè mì fọ́ wọn sí orí àwọn gbogbo ènìyàn àwọn tí ó ṣẹ́kù ni èmi yóò fi idà pa, ẹni tí ó sálọ nínú wọn kí yóò sá gbé, ẹni ti ó sá àsálà nínú wọn kí yóò gbàlà.
I saw the Lord towering above the altar, and he commanded: Strike the tops of the pillars so that the foundations may shake, bring them down on the heads of the people below. The rest of them I will slay with the sword: no one will get away, no one will escape.
2 Bí wọ́n tilẹ̀ wa ilẹ̀ lọ sí ipò òkú, láti ibẹ̀ ni ọwọ́ mi yóò ti tẹ̀ wọ́n. Bí wọ́n tilẹ̀ gun òkè ọ̀run lọ, láti ibẹ̀ ni èmi yóò ti mú wọn sọ̀kalẹ̀. (Sheol )
If they dig down to Sheol, there will my hand take them. If they climb up to the heavens, from there will I bring them down. (Sheol )
3 Bí wọ́n tilẹ̀ fi ara wọn pamọ́ ni orí òkè Karmeli, èmi yóò wá wọn rí, Èmi yóò si mú wọn kúrò níbẹ̀. Bí wọ́n tilẹ̀ fi ara pamọ́ fún mi sí ìsàlẹ̀ Òkun, láti ibẹ̀ ni Èmi yóò ti pàṣẹ fún ejò kí ó bù wọ́n ṣán.
If they hide themselves on the top of Carmel, there will I search them out and take them. If they hide out of my sight at the bottom of the sea, there will I command the sea serpent to bite them.
4 Bí wọ́n tilẹ̀ lọ sí ìgbèkùn ní iwájú àwọn ọ̀tá wọn láti ibẹ̀ ni èmi yóò ti pàṣẹ fún idà kí ó ṣá wọn pa. “Èmi yóò sì tẹ ojú mi mọ́ wọn fún ìbí, kì í sì í ṣe fún rere.”
If they are taken into captivity by their enemies, there will I command the sword to slay them. I will keep my eye on them but for evil and not for good.
5 Olúwa, Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun, ẹni ti ó fi ọwọ́ kan ilẹ̀ náà tí ó sì yọ́, tí àwọn olùgbé inú rẹ̀ yóò sì ṣọ̀fọ̀; gbogbo orílẹ̀-èdè yóò si ru sókè bí ríru odò Naili tiwọn yóò sì tẹ̀rì bí odò Ejibiti.
It is the Lord the God of hosts, who touches the earth and it trembles, all who live on it mourn. The earth rises up like the Nile, and sinks like the Nile of Egypt.
6 Òun ni ẹni tí ó kọ́ ìtẹ́ rẹ̀ nínú àwọn ọ̀run ti ó sì fi ìpìlẹ̀ rẹ̀ sọlẹ̀ ní ilé ayé, Ẹni ti ó pe àwọn omi Òkun ti ó sì tú wọn jáde si orí ilé ayé Olúwa ni orúkọ rẹ̀.
The one who builds in the heavens, who sets the dome of the sky over the earth, who summons the waters of the sea and pours them out on the face of the earth: the Lord is his name.
To me, Israelites, you are just like the Cushites, says the Lord. Yes, I brought Israel up out of the land of Egypt, but also the Philistines from Caphtor, and the Arameans from Kir!
8 “Dájúdájú, ojú Olúwa Olódùmarè ń bẹ̀ lára ilẹ̀ ọba tó kún fún ẹ̀ṣẹ̀. Èmi yóò pa á run kúrò lórí ilẹ̀. Síbẹ̀, Èmi kò nípa ilé Jakọbu run pátápátá,” ni Olúwa wí.
Behold the eyes of the Lord God are on the sinful kingdom: I will destroy it from the face of the earth! But I will not completely destroy the house of Jacob, says the Lord.
9 “Nítorí Èmi yóò pàṣẹ, Èmi yóò sì mi ilé Israẹli ní àárín àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè bí a ti ń jọ nǹkan nínú ajọ̀ tí hóró kín ń kín kì yóò bọ́ sórí ilẹ̀.
For behold I am about to give the command, and I will shake the house of Israel among all the nations just as one shakes grain in a sieve, but not a pebble shall fall to the ground.
10 Gbogbo àwọn ẹlẹ́ṣẹ̀ láàrín àwọn ènìyàn mi ni yóò ti ipa idà kú gbogbo àwọn ti ń wí pé, ‘Aburú kì yóò lé wa bá, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kì yóò ká wa mọ́.’
All the sinners of my people, who deny that disaster will touch or befall them, will die by the sword.
11 “Ní ọjọ́ náà ní Èmi yóò gbé àgọ́ Dafidi tí ó wó ró, Èmi yóò dí odi rẹ̀ tí ó ya, Èmi yóò sì gbé ahoro rẹ̀ sókè, Èmi yóò sì kọ bí ti ọjọ́ ìgbàanì,
On that day I will raise up the fallen house of David, I will wall up its gaps and raise up its ruins, I will rebuild it as it was long ago.
12 kí wọn le jogún ìyókù Edomu àti gbogbo àwọn kèfèrí, ti a ń pè nípa orúkọ mi,” ni Olúwa, ẹni tí yóò ṣe nǹkan wọ̀nyí wí.
They will possess again the rest of Edom, and all the nations which once you ruled for me, says the Lord, who will do this.
13 “Ọjọ́ náà ń bọ,” ni Olúwa wí, “tí ẹni tí ń tulẹ̀ yóò lé ẹni tí ń kórè bá. Tí ẹni tí ń fún èso àjàrà yóò lé ẹni tí ń gbìn bá. Àwọn òkè ńlá yóò sì kán ọtí wáìnì sílẹ̀, tí yóò sì sàn láti ara àwọn òkè kéékèèké.
Listen! The days are coming, says the Lord, when the harvest is too big to reap before it is time to plough, when the grapes cannot be all trod before it is time to sow, when the mountains will run with sweet wine, and every hill will flow with it.
14 Èmi yóò si tún mú ìgbèkùn Israẹli ènìyàn mi padà bọ̀. “Wọn yóò sì kọ́ ahoro ìlú, wọn yóò sì máa gbé inú wọn. Wọn yóò sì gbin ọgbà àjàrà, wọn yóò sì mu ọtí wáìnì wọn wọn yóò sì ṣe ọgbà pẹ̀lú, wọn yóò sì jẹ èso inú wọn.
I will bring back my people Israel, they will rebuild waste cities and inhabit them, plant vineyards and drink their wine, make gardens and eat their fruit.
15 Èmi yóò gbin Israẹli sí orí ilẹ̀ rẹ̀. A kì yóò sì fà wọn tu mọ́ láéláé kúrò ni orí ilẹ̀ ti mo fi fún wọn,” ni Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ wí.
I will plant them on their own soil, and they will never again be uprooted from their land which I have given them, says the Lord your God.
