< Amos 3 >
1 Ẹ gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ tí Olúwa ti sọ nípa rẹ̀, ẹ̀yin ènìyàn Israẹli nípa àwọn ìdílé tí mo mú jáde láti Ejibiti:
Hear ye this word, O house of Israel, which the Lord has spoken concerning you, and against the whole family whom I brought up out of the land of Egypt, saying,
2 “Ìwọ nìkan ni ẹni tí mo yàn nínú gbogbo àwọn ìran ayé yìí; nígbà náà èmi ó jẹ ọ́ ní yà fún gbogbo ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ rẹ.”
You especially have I known out of all the families of the earth: therefore will I take vengeance upon you for all your sins.
3 Ẹni méjì ha à le rìn pọ̀ láìjẹ́ pé wọ́n ti pinnu láti ṣe bẹ?
Shall two walk together at all, if they do not know one another?
4 Ǹjẹ́ Kìnnìún yóò ha bú ramúramù nínú igbó, bí kò bá ní ohun ọdẹ? Ọmọ kìnnìún yóò ha ké jáde nínú ìhó rẹ̀ bí kò bá rí ohun kan mú?
Will a lion roar out of his thicket if he has no prey? will a [lion's] whelp utter his voice at all out of his lair, if he have taken nothing?
5 Ǹjẹ́ ẹyẹ ṣubú sínú okùn ọdẹ lórí ilẹ̀ nígbà tí a kò dẹ okùn ọdẹ fún un? Okùn ọdẹ ha lè hù jáde lórí ilẹ̀ nígbà tí kò sí ohun tí yóò mú?
Will a bird fall on the earth without a fowler? will a snare be taken up from the earth without having taken anything?
6 Nígbà tí ìpè bá dún ní ìlú, àwọn ènìyàn kò ha bẹ̀rù? Tí ewu bá wa lórí ìlú kò ha ṣe Olúwa ni ó fà á?
Shall the trumpet sound in the city, and the people not be alarmed? shall there be evil in a city which the Lord has not wrought?
7 Nítòótọ́ Olúwa Olódùmarè kò ṣe ohun kan láìfi èrò rẹ̀ hàn fun àwọn wòlíì ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀.
For the Lord God will do nothing, without revealing instruction to his servants the prophets.
8 Kìnnìún ti bú ramúramù ta ni kì yóò bẹ̀rù? Olúwa Olódùmarè ti sọ̀rọ̀ ta ni le ṣe àìsọ àsọtẹ́lẹ̀?
A lion shall roar, and who will not be alarmed? the Lord God has spoken, and who will not prophesy?
9 Ẹ kéde ní ààfin Aṣdodu àti ní ààfin ní ilẹ̀ Ejibiti. “Ẹ kó ara yín jọ sí orí òkè ńlá Samaria; kí ẹ sì wo ìrọ́kẹ̀kẹ̀ ńlá láàrín rẹ̀ àti ìnilára láàrín àwọn ènìyàn rẹ.”
Proclaim it to the regions among the Assyrians, and to the regions of Egypt, and say, Gather yourselves to the mountain of Samaria, and behold many wonderful things in the midst of it, and the oppression that is in it.
10 “Wọn kò mọ bí wọ́n ṣe ń ṣe rere,” ni Olúwa wí, “àwọn ẹni tí ó gba àwọn ìwà ipá àti olè sí ààfin rẹ̀.”
And she knew not what things would come against her, saith the Lord, [even] those that store up wrong and misery in their countries.
11 Nítorí náà, báyìí ni Olúwa Olódùmarè wí: “Àwọn ọ̀tá yóò pa ilẹ̀ náà run; yóò wó ibi gíga yín palẹ̀ a ó sì ba ààfin rẹ̀ jẹ́.”
Therefore thus saith the Lord God; O Tyre, thy land shall be made desolate round about [thee]; and he shall bring down thy strength out of thee, and thy countries shall be spoiled.
12 Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa wí: “Bí olùṣọ́-àgùntàn ti ń gbà itan méjì kúrò ní ẹnu kìnnìún tàbí ẹ̀là etí kan bẹ́ẹ̀ ni a ó mú àwọn ọmọ Israẹli, tí ń gbé Samaria kúrò ní igun ibùsùn wọn ní orí àga ìrọ̀gbọ̀kú wọn ní Damasku.”
Thus saith the Lord; As when a shepherd rescues from the mouth of a lion two legs or a piece of an ear, so shall be drawn forth the children of Israel who dwell in Samaria in the presence of [a foreign] tribe, and in Damascus.
13 “Gbọ́ èyí kí o sì jẹ́rìí nípa ilé Jakọbu,” ni Olúwa wí, Olúwa Ọlọ́run àwọn ọmọ-ogun.
Hear, O ye priests, and testify to the house of Jacob, saith the Lord God Almighty.
14 “Ní ọjọ́ tí mo fìyà jẹ Israẹli lórí ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ wọn, Èmi yóò pa pẹpẹ Beteli run; ìwo pẹpẹ ni a ó ké kúrò yóò sì wó lulẹ̀.
For in the day wherein I shall take vengeance of the sins of Israel upon him, I will also take vengeance on the altars of Bethel: and the horns of the altar shall be broken down, and they shall fall upon the ground.
15 Èmi yóò wó ilé òtútù lulẹ̀ pẹ̀lú ilé ooru; ilé tí a fi eyín erin ṣe lọ́ṣọ̀ọ́ yóò ṣègbé a ó sì pa ilé ńlá náà run,” ni Olúwa wí.
I will crush and smite the turreted-house upon the summer-house; and the ivory-houses shall be destroyed, and many other houses also, saith the Lord.
