< Acts 4 >
1 Bí wọn sì tí ń bá àwọn ènìyàn sọ̀rọ̀, àwọn àlùfáà àti olórí ẹ̀ṣọ́ tẹmpili àti àwọn Sadusi dìde sí wọn.
As they spoke to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came to them,
2 Inú bí wọn, nítorí tí wọn kọ́ àwọn ènìyàn, wọ́n sì ń wàásù àjíǹde kúrò nínú òkú nínú Jesu.
being upset because they taught the people and proclaimed in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
3 Wọn sì nawọ́ mú wọn, wọn sì tì wọ́n mọ́ ilé túbú títí ó fi dí ọjọ́ kejì; nítorí tí alẹ́ ti lẹ́ tan.
They laid hands on them, and put them in custody until the next day, for it was now evening.
4 Ṣùgbọ́n ọ̀pọ̀ àwọn tí ó gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ náà gbàgbọ́; iye àwọn ọkùnrin náà sì tó ẹgbẹ̀rún márùn-ún.
But many of those who heard the word believed, and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.
5 Ó sì ṣe ní ọjọ́ kejì, àwọn olórí wọn àti àwọn alàgbà àti àwọn olùkọ́ni ní òfin péjọ sí Jerusalẹmu.
It happened in the morning, that their rulers, elders, and scribes were gathered together in Jerusalem.
6 Àti Annasi olórí àlùfáà, àti Kaiafa, àti Johanu, àti Aleksanderu, àti iye àwọn tí i ṣe ìbátan olórí àlùfáà.
Annas the high priest was there, with Caiaphas, John, Alexander, and as many as were relatives of the high priest.
7 Wọ́n mú Peteru àti Johanu dúró níwájú wọn, wọ́n sì bẹ̀rẹ̀ sí béèrè ìbéèrè lọ́wọ́ wọn pé, “Nípa agbára tàbí orúkọ wo ni ẹ̀yin fi ṣe èyí?”
When they had stood them in the middle of them, they inquired, "By what power, or in what name, have you done this?"
8 Nígbà náà ni Peteru kún fún Ẹ̀mí Mímọ́, ó sì wí fún wọn pé, “Ẹ̀yin olórí àti ẹ̀yin alàgbà àwọn ènìyàn!
Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, "Rulers of the people, and elders,
9 Bí ó bá ṣe pé a ń wádìí wa lónìí ní tí iṣẹ́ rere ti a ṣe lára abirùn náà, bí a ti ṣe mú ọkùnrin yìí láradá,

be it known to you all, and to all the children of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, in him does this man stand here before you whole.
11 Èyí ni “‘òkúta tí a ti ọwọ́ ẹ̀yin ọ̀mọ̀lé kọ̀sílẹ̀, tí ó sì di pàtàkì igun ilé.’
This one is the stone which was regarded as worthless by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner.
12 Kò sì sí ìgbàlà lọ́dọ̀ ẹlòmíràn; nítorí kò sí orúkọ mìíràn lábẹ́ ọ̀run ti a fi fún ni nínú ènìyàn, nípa èyí tí a lè fi gbà wá là.”
And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among people by which we must be saved."
13 Nígbà tí wọ́n sì kíyèsi ìgboyà Peteru àti Johanu, tí wọ́n mọ̀ pé, aláìkẹ́kọ̀ọ́ àti òpè ènìyàn ni wọn, ẹnu yà wọ́n, wọ́n sì wòye pé, wọ́n ti ń bá Jesu gbé.
Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and had perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they were amazed. They recognized that they had been with Jesus.
14 Nígbà tí wọ́n sì ń wo ọkùnrin náà tí a mú láradá, tí ó bá wọn dúró, wọn kò rí nǹkan wí sí i.
Seeing the man who was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.
15 Ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí wọ́n sì ti pàṣẹ pé kí wọn jáde kúrò ní ìgbìmọ̀, wọ́n bá ara wọn gbèrò.
But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,
16 Wí pé, “Kí ni a ó ṣe sí àwọn ọkùnrin wọ̀nyí? Ní ti pé iṣẹ́ àmì tí ó dájú tí ọwọ́ wọn ṣe, ó hàn gbangba fún gbogbo àwọn tí ń gbé Jerusalẹmu; àwa kò sì lè sẹ́ èyí.
saying, "What should we do with these men? Because indeed a notable miracle has been done through them, as can be plainly seen by all who dwell in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it.
17 Ṣùgbọ́n kí ó má ba à tànkálẹ̀ síwájú mọ́ láàrín àwọn ènìyàn, ẹ jẹ́ kí a kìlọ̀ fún wọn pé, láti ìsinsin yìí lọ kí wọn má ṣe fi orúkọ yìí sọ̀rọ̀ sí ẹnikẹ́ni mọ́.”
But so this does not spread any further among the people, let us severely threaten them, that from now on they do not speak to anyone in this name."
18 Wọ́n sì pè wọ́n, wọ́n pàṣẹ fún wọn, kí wọn má ṣe sọ̀rọ̀ tàbí kọ́ni rárá mọ́ ní orúkọ Jesu.
They called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.
19 Ṣùgbọ́n Peteru àti Johanu dáhùn, wọ́n sì wí fún wọn pé, “Bí ó bá tọ́ lójú Ọlọ́run láti gbọ́ tiyín ju ti Ọlọ́run lọ ẹ gbà á rò.
But Peter and John answered them, "Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, judge for yourselves,
20 Àwa kò lè ṣàìmá sọ ohun tí àwa ń rí, tí a sì ti gbọ́.”
for we cannot help telling the things which we saw and heard."
21 Nígbà tí wọ́n sì kìlọ̀ fún wọn sí i, wọn fi wọ́n sílẹ̀ lọ, nígbà tí wọn kò ì tí ì rí nǹkan tí wọn ìbá fi jẹ wọ́n ní ìyà, nítorí àwọn ènìyàn; nítorí gbogbo wọn ni wọ́n yin Ọlọ́run lógo fún ohun tí ó ṣe.
When they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way to punish them, because of the people; for everyone glorified God for that which was done.
22 Nítorí ọkùnrin náà lára ẹni tí a ṣe iṣẹ́ àmì ìmúláradá, ju ẹni ogójì ọdún lọ.
For the man on whom this miracle of healing was performed was more than forty years old.
23 Nígbà tí wọ́n sì ti fi wọ́n sílẹ̀ wọ́n lọ sọ́dọ̀ àwọn ẹlẹgbẹ́ wọn, wọ́n sì ròyìn ohun gbogbo tí àwọn olórí àlùfáà àti àwọn alàgbà sọ fún wọn.
Being let go, they came to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them.
24 Nígbà tí wọ́n sì gbọ́, wọ́n fi ọkàn kan gbé ohùn wọn sókè sí Ọlọ́run, wọ́n sì wí pé, “Olúwa Olódùmarè, ìwọ tí ó dá ọ̀run àti ayé, òkun, àti ohun gbogbo tí ń bẹ nínú wọn.
When they heard it, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, "Lord, you made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that is in them.
25 Ìwọ nípa Ẹ̀mí Mímọ́ tí ó ti ẹnu Dafidi baba wa ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀ wí pé: “‘E é ṣe tí àwọn kèfèrí fi ń bínú, àti tí àwọn ènìyàn ń gbèrò ohun asán?
You said through the Holy Spirit, through the mouth of our father David your servant: 'Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot in vain?
26 Àwọn ọba ayé dìde, àti àwọn ìjòyè kó ara wọn jọ sí Olúwa, àti sí ẹni àmì òróró rẹ̀.’
The kings of the earth take a stand, and the rulers take council together, against the Lord, and against his Christ.'
27 Àní nítòótọ́ ní Herodu àti Pọntiu Pilatu, pẹ̀lú àwọn aláìkọlà àti àwọn ènìyàn Israẹli kó ara wọn jọ ní ìlú yìí láti dìtẹ̀ sí Jesu Ìránṣẹ́ mímọ́ rẹ, ẹni tí ìwọ ti fi àmì òróró yàn,

Now, Lord, look at their threats, and grant to your servants to speak your word with all boldness,
30 Kí ìwọ sì fi nína ọwọ́ rẹ ṣe ìmúláradá, àti kí iṣẹ́ ìyanu máa ṣẹ̀ ní orúkọ Jesu ìránṣẹ́ mímọ́ rẹ.”
while you stretch out your hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of your holy Servant Jesus."
31 Nígbà tí wọ́n gbàdúrà tan, ibi tí wọ́n gbé péjọpọ̀ sí mì tìtì; gbogbo wọn sì kún fún Ẹ̀mí Mímọ́, wọ́n sì ń fi ìgboyà sọ ọ̀rọ̀ Ọlọ́run.
When they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were gathered together. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
32 Ìjọ àwọn tí ó gbàgbọ́ sì wà ní ọkàn kan àti inú kan; kò sì ṣí ẹnìkan tí ó wí pé ohun kan nínú ohun ìní rẹ̀ jẹ́ ti ara rẹ̀; ṣùgbọ́n gbogbo wọn ní ohun gbogbo ní ìṣọ̀kan.
And the full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul. Not one of them claimed that anything of the things which he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.
33 Agbára ńlá ni àwọn aposteli sì fi ń jẹ́rìí àjíǹde Jesu Olúwa, oore-ọ̀fẹ́ púpọ̀ sì wà lórí gbogbo wọn.
With great power, the apostles gave their testimony of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. Great grace was on them all.
