Acts 15
1 Àwọn ọkùnrin kan tí Judea sọ̀kalẹ̀ wá, wọ́n sì kọ́ àwọn arákùnrin pé, “Bí kò ṣe pé a bá kọ yín ni ilà bí ìṣe Mose, ẹ̀yin kí yóò lè là.”
In the meantime, some, who came down from Judea, taught the brethren, Except you be circumcised, according to the manner of Moses, you can not be saved.
2 Nígbà tí Paulu àti Barnaba ni ìyapa àti ìyàn jíjà tí kò mọ níwọ̀n pẹ̀lú ara wọn, wọ́n yan Paulu àti Barnaba àti àwọn mìíràn nínú aposteli kí wọn gòkè lọ sí Jerusalẹmu, sọ́dọ̀ àwọn alàgbà nítorí ọ̀ràn yìí.
There being, therefore, a contention, and no small debate with them, on the part of Paul and Barnabas; they resolved that Paul and Barnabas, and some others of their number, should go up to the Apostles and elders at Jerusalem, about this question.
3 Nítorí náà, bí ìjọ ti rán wọn jáde lọ sí ọ̀nà wọn, wọn la Fonisia àti Samaria kọjá, wọ́n ń ròyìn ìyípadà àwọn aláìkọlà, wọ́n sì fi ayọ̀ ńlá fún gbogbo àwọn arákùnrin.
They, therefore, being brought forward on their journey, by the congregation, went through Phenicia and Samaria, relating the conversion of the Gentiles; and they occasioned great joy to all the brethren.
4 Nígbà tí wọn sì dé Jerusalẹmu, ìjọ àti àwọn aposteli àti àwọn alàgbà tẹ́wọ́gbà wọ́n, wọ́n sì ròyìn ohun gbogbo tí Ọlọ́run ti ṣe nípasẹ̀ wọn.
And being arrived at Jerusalem, they were received by the congregation, and by the Apostles and elders: and they related what things God had done with them.
5 Ṣùgbọ́n àwọn kan nínú ẹ̀yà àwọn Farisi tí wọ́n gbàgbọ́ dìde, wọ́n ń wí pé, “A ní láti kọ wọ́n ní ilà, àti láti pàṣẹ fún wọn pé kí wọn máa pa òfin Mose mọ́.”
But some of the sect of the Pharisees that believed, rose up and said, that it was necessary to circumcise them, and to charge them to keep the law of Moses.
6 Àwọn aposteli àti àwọn alàgbà péjọ láti rí si ọ̀ràn yìí.
And the Apostles and elders were gathered together to consult upon this affair.
7 Nígbà tí iyàn sì di púpọ̀, Peteru dìde, ó sì wí fún wọn pé, “Ará, ẹ̀yin mọ̀ pé, láti ìbẹ̀rẹ̀ ni Ọlọ́run ti yàn nínú yín pé, kí àwọn aláìkọlà lè gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ ìyìnrere láti ẹnu mi, kí wọn sì gbàgbọ́.
And after much debate, Peter rose up and said to them, Brethren, you know that, some considerable time since, God among us, chose, that the Gentiles, by my mouth, should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.
8 Ọlọ́run, tí ó jẹ́ olùmọ̀-ọkàn, sì jẹ́ wọn lẹ́rìí, ó fún wọn ni Ẹ̀mí Mímọ́, gẹ́gẹ́ bí àwa.
And God, who knows the heart, bore witness to them, giving them the Holy Spirit, even as he did to us:
9 Kò sí fi ìyàtọ̀ sí àárín àwa àti àwọn, ó ń fi ìgbàgbọ́ wẹ̀ wọ́n lọ́kàn mọ́.
and made no distinction between us and them, having purified their hearts by faith.
10 Ǹjẹ́ nítorí náà èéṣe tí ẹ̀yin o fi dán Ọlọ́run wò, láti fi àjàgà bọ àwọn ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn lọ́rùn, èyí tí àwọn baba wa àti àwa kò lè rù?
Now, therefore, why do you tempt God by imposing on the neck of the disciples a yoke which neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear?
11 Ṣùgbọ́n àwa gbàgbọ́ pé nípa oore-ọ̀fẹ́ Olúwa Jesu àwa ó là, gẹ́gẹ́ bí àwọn.”
But we believe that we are saved by the grace of the Lord Jesus, in the same manner as they.
12 Gbogbo àjọ sí dákẹ́, wọ́n sì fi etí sí Barnaba àti Paulu, tí wọn ń ròyìn iṣẹ́ ìyanu àti iṣẹ́ àmì tí Ọlọ́run tí ti ọwọ́ wọn ṣe láàrín àwọn aláìkọlà.
And the whole multitude kept silence, and attended to Barnabas and Paul; relating what signs and wonders God had done among the heathen, by them.
13 Lẹ́yìn tí wọn sì dákẹ́, Jakọbu dáhùn, wí pé, “Ará, ẹ gbọ́ tèmi,
Then after they had done speaking, James answered, saying, Brethren, hearken to me.
14 Simeoni ti ròyìn bí Ọlọ́run ti kọ́kọ́ bojú wo àwọn aláìkọlà, láti yàn ènìyàn nínú wọn fún orúkọ rẹ̀.
Simeon has been relating how God first looked down on the Gentiles, to take from among them a people for his name.
15 Báyìí ni ọ̀rọ̀ àwọn wòlíì bá ṣe déédé; bí a ti kọ̀wé rẹ̀ pé:
And the words of the prophets harmonize with this; as it is written,
16 “‘Lẹ́yìn nǹkan wọ̀nyí ni èmi ó padà, èmi ó sì tún àgọ́ Dafidi pa tí ó ti wó lulẹ̀: èmi ó sì tún ahoro rẹ̀ kọ́, èmi ó sì gbé e ró.
"After this, I will return, and will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; yes, I will rebuild its ruins, and set it upright again:
17 Kí àwọn ènìyàn ìyókù lè máa wá Olúwa, àti gbogbo àwọn kèfèrí, lára ẹni tí a ń pe orúkọ mi,’ ni Olúwa wí, ta ni ó ń ṣe nǹkan wọ̀nyí,
that the remainder of men may seek the Lord, even all the heathen upon whom my name is called,
says the Lord," who does all these things, known to him from the beginning. (aiōn g165)
19 “Ǹjẹ́ ìmọ̀ràn tèmi ni pé, kí a máa ṣe yọ àwọn ti aláìkọlà ti ó yípadà sí Ọlọ́run lẹ́nu.
Wherefore, my judgment is not to disquiet those who, from among the Gentiles, are converted to God;
20 Ṣùgbọ́n kí a kọ̀wé si wọn, kí wọ́n fàsẹ́yìn kúrò nínú oúnjẹ tí a ṣe fún òrìṣà, àti kúrò nínú àgbèrè, àti nínú ẹ̀jẹ̀.
but to write to them, that they abstain from the pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from that which is strangled, and from blood.
21 Nítorí òfin Mose nígbà àtijọ́ ṣá ní a ti ń wàásù rẹ̀, ni ìlú gbogbo, a máa ń kà á nínú Sinagọgu ni ọjọọjọ́ ìsinmi.”
For Moses has, from ancient generations, those who preach him, in every city, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath day.
22 Nígbà nà án ni ó tọ́ lójú àwọn aposteli, àti àwọn alàgbà pẹ̀lú gbogbo ìjọ, láti yan ènìyàn nínú wọn, àti láti rán wọ́n lọ sí Antioku pẹ̀lú Paulu àti Barnaba: Judasi ti a ń pè àpèlé rẹ̀ ní Barsaba, àti Sila, ẹni tí ó lórúkọ nínú àwọn arákùnrin.
Then it seemed good to the Apostles and elders, and all the congregation, to send to Antioch, with Paul and Barnabas, chosen men from among themselves, namely, Judas, surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, men of principal account among the brethren;
23 Wọn sì kọ ìwé lé wọn lọ́wọ́ báyìí pé, Àwọn aposteli, àti àwọn alàgbà, tí ó jẹ́ ti aláìkọlà tí ó wà ní Antioku, àti ní Siria, àti ní Kilikia.
writing by their hands these things: The Apostles, and elders, and brethren, to the brethren from among the Gentiles in Antioch, and Syria, and Cilicia, greeting:
24 Níwọ́n bí àwa ti gbọ́ pé, àwọn kan ti ó ti ọ̀dọ̀ wa jáde wá ń fi ọ̀rọ̀ yọ yín lẹ́nu, tí wọ́n ń yí yín ní ọkàn padà (wí pé, ẹ kò gbọdọ̀ ṣàìmá kọ ilà, àti ṣàìmá pa òfin Mose mọ́), ẹni tí àwa kò fún ní àṣẹ.
Forasmuch as we have been informed that, some going out from among us, to whom we gave no commission, have troubled you with discourses, unsettling your minds, saying, that you must be circumcised, and keep the law:
25 Ó yẹ lójú àwa, bí wa ti fi ìmọ̀ ṣọ̀kan láti yan ènìyàn láti rán wọn sí yín, pẹ̀lú Barnaba àti Paulu àwọn olùfẹ́ wa.
we, being unanimously assembled, have thought proper to send you chosen men, with out beloved Barnabas and Paul;
26 Àwọn ọkùnrin ti ó fi ọkàn wọn wéwu nítorí orúkọ Olúwa wa Jesu Kristi.
men that have exposed their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
27 Nítorí náà àwa rán Judasi àti Sila àwọn tí yóò sì fi ọ̀rọ̀ ẹnu sọ ohun kan náà fún yín.
We have, therefore, sent Judas and Silas, who will also tell you by word of mouth, the same things.
28 Nítorí ó dára lójú Ẹ̀mí Mímọ́, àti lójú wa, kí a má ṣe di ẹrù le é yin lórí, bí kò ṣe àwọn nǹkan wọ̀nyí tí ó ṣe pàtàkì;
For it has seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to impose no further burden upon you besides these necessary things;
29 í ẹ̀yin fàsẹ́yìn kúrò nínú ẹran ti à pa bọ òrìṣà, àti nínú ẹ̀jẹ̀ àti nínú ohun ìlọ́lọ́rùnpa, àti nínú àgbèrè. Bí ẹ̀yin bá pa ara yín mọ́ kúrò, ẹ̀yin ó ṣe rere. Àlàáfíà.
that you abstain from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from anything strangled, and from fornication: from which you will do well to keep yourselves. Farewell.
30 Ǹjẹ́ nígbà tí wọ́n sì fi wọ́n sílẹ̀ láti lọ, wọ́n sọ̀kalẹ̀ wá si Antioku. Nígbà tí wọn sì pé àwọn ìjọ papọ̀, wọn fi ìwé náà fún wọn.
They, therefore, being dismissed, came to Antioch; and assembling the multitude, delivered the epistle.
31 Nígbà tí wọn sì kà á, wọ́n yọ̀ fún ìtùnú náà.
And when they had read it, they rejoiced for the consolation it brought.
32 Bí Judasi àti Sila tìkára wọn ti jẹ́ wòlíì pẹ̀lú, wọ́n fi ọ̀rọ̀ púpọ̀ gba àwọn arákùnrin níyànjú, wọ́n sì mú wọn lọ́kàn le.
And Judas and Silas, being also prophets themselves; in a copious discourse, exhorted and strengthened the brethren.
33 Nígbà tí wọn sì pẹ́, díẹ̀, àwọn arákùnrin rán wọn padà lọ ni àlàáfíà sí ọ̀dọ̀ àwọn tí ó rán wọn wá.
And, having made some stay, they were dismissed with peace from the brethren to the Apostles.
But Silas thought proper to continue there.
35 Paulu àti Barnaba sì dúró díẹ̀ ni Antioku, wọ́n ń kọ́ni, wọ́n sì ń wàásù ọ̀rọ̀, Olúwa, àti àwọn púpọ̀ mìíràn pẹ̀lú wọn.
Paul also, and Barnabas, with many others, continued at Antioch; teaching and declaring the good word of the Lord.
36 Lẹ́yìn ọjọ́ mélòó kan, Paulu sì sọ fún Barnaba pé, “Jẹ́ kí a tún padà lọ bẹ àwọn arákùnrin wa wò, bí wọn ti ń ṣe sí ni ìlú gbogbo tí àwa ti wàásù ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa.”
And, after some days, Paul said to Barnabas, Let us return and visit the brethren in all the cities in which we have published the word of the Lord; and see how they do.
37 Barnaba sì pinnu rẹ̀ láti mú Johanu lọ pẹ̀lú wọn, ẹni tí àpèlé rẹ̀ ń jẹ́ Marku.
And Barnabas determined to take along with them John, surnamed Mark.
38 Ṣùgbọ́n Paulu rò pé, kò yẹ láti mú un lọ pẹ̀lú wọn, ẹni tí ó fi wọn sílẹ̀ ni Pamfilia, tí kò sì bá wọn lọ sí iṣẹ́ náà.
But Peter did not think proper to take with them that person who had withdrawn himself from them from Pamphylia; and went not with them to the work.
39 Ìjà náà sì pọ̀ tó bẹ́ẹ̀, tí wọn ya ara wọn sì méjì, Barnaba sì mu Marku ó tẹ ọkọ́ létí lọ sí Saipurọsi.
There was, therefore, a sharp fit of anger, so that they separated from each other; and Barnabas, taking Mark along with him, sailed to Cyprus.
40 Ṣùgbọ́n Paulu yan Sila, ó sì lọ, bí a ti fi lé oore-ọ̀fẹ́ Olúwa lọ́wọ́ láti ọ̀dọ̀ àwọn arákùnrin.
But Paul made choice of Silas, and departed; being commended to the grace of God, by the brethren.
41 Ó sì la Siria àti Kilikia lọ, ó ń mú ìjọ ní ọkàn le.
And he went through Syria and Cilicia confirming the congregations;
