< Acts 10 >

1 Ọkùnrin kan sì wà ni Kesarea ti a ń pè ní Korneliu, balógun ọ̀rún ti ẹgbẹ́ ọmọ-ogun tí a ń pè ni Itali.
BUT in Cesarea was a certain man, a centurion, whose name was Cornelius, of the cohort which was called the Italic.
2 Olùfọkànsìn, àti ẹni ti ó bẹ̀rù Ọlọ́run tilétilé rẹ̀ gbogbo, ẹni tí ó ń tọrẹ àánú púpọ̀ fún àwọn ènìyàn, tí ó sì ń gbàdúrà sọ́dọ̀ Ọlọ́run nígbà gbogbo.
And he was just, and feared Aloha, he and all his house: he did much alms among the people, and in all time prayed of Aloha.
3 Níwọ́n wákàtí kẹsànán ọjọ́, ó rí nínú ìran kedere angẹli Ọlọ́run kan wọlé tọ̀ ọ́ wá, ó sì wí fún un pé, “Korneliu!”
This saw an angel of Aloha in a vision manifestly about the ninth hour of the day, who came in to him, and said to him, Cornelius!
4 Nígbà tí ó sì tẹjúmọ́ ọn, ti ẹ̀rù sì bà á, ó ní, “Kín ni, Olúwa?” Ó sì wí fún un pé, “Àdúrà rẹ àti ọrẹ-àánú, tìrẹ gòkè lọ síwájú Ọlọ́run fún ìrántí.
And he beheld him, and feared, and said, What, my Lord? And the angel said to him, Thy prayers and thy alms have ascended for a memorial before Aloha.
5 Sì rán ènìyàn nísinsin yìí lọ sí Joppa, kí wọn sì pe Simoni wá, ẹni ti àpèlé rẹ̀ ń jẹ́ Peteru.
And now send men to Joppa the city, and bring Shemun who is called Kipha:
6 Ó wọ̀ sí ilé Simoni aláwọ, tí ilé rẹ̀ wà létí Òkun; òun ni yóò sọ fún ọ bí ìwọ ó ti ṣe.”
behold, he sojourneth in the house of Shemun the tanner, which is hard by the sea.
7 Nígbà tí angẹli náà tí ó bá Korneliu sọ̀rọ̀ sì fi i sílẹ̀ lọ ó pe méjì nínú àwọn ìránṣẹ́ ilé rẹ̀, àti ọmọ-ogun olùfọkànsìn kan, nínú àwọn ti ó máa ń dúró tì í nígbà gbogbo.
And when the angel who had spoken with him had gone, he called two from the sons of his house, and a certain soldier who feared Aloha (and) who was obedient to him;
8 Nígbà tí ó sì tí ṣàlàyé ohun gbogbo fún wọn, ó rán wọn lọ sí Joppa.
and he made known to them every thing he had seen, and sent them to Joppa.
9 Ni ọjọ́ kejì bí wọ́n ti ń lọ lọ́nà àjò wọn, tí wọ́n sì súnmọ́ ilé náà, Peteru gun òkè ilé lọ láti gbàdúrà ni ìwọ̀n wákàtí kẹfà ọjọ́,
AND the day after while they went on the way, and drew nigh to the city, Shemun ascended to the roof to pray, at the sixth hour.
10 ebi sì pa á gidigidi, ó sì ń fẹ́ láti jẹun, ó bọ́ sí ojúran.
And he hungered, and desired to eat: and while they were preparing for him, there fell upon him an entrancement,
11 Ó sì rí ọ̀run ṣí, ohun èlò kan si sọ̀kalẹ̀ bí gọgọwú ńlá, tí a ti igun mẹ́rẹ̀ẹ̀rin, sọ̀kalẹ̀ sí ilẹ̀.
and he saw the heavens opened, and a certain vessel bound at the four corners, and like to a great sheet, and it was let down from heaven upon the earth:
12 Nínú rẹ̀ ni onírúurú ẹranko ẹlẹ́sẹ̀ mẹ́rin wà, àti ohun tí ń rákò ni ayé àti ẹyẹ ojú ọ̀run.
and in it were all animals of four feet, and reptiles of the earth, and fowls of the heaven.
13 Ohùn kan si fọ̀ sí i pe, “Dìde, Peteru; máa pa kí o sì máa jẹ.”
And a voice came to him, which said, Shemun, arise, slay, and eat.
14 Ṣùgbọ́n Peteru dáhùn pé, “Rara, Olúwa; nítorí èmi kò jẹ ohun èèwọ̀ àti aláìmọ́ kan rí.”
And Shemun said, Not so, my Lord: for never have I eaten any thing that is profane and unclean.
15 Ohùn kan sì tún fọ̀ sí i lẹ́ẹ̀méjì pé, “Ohun tí Ọlọ́run bá ti wẹ̀mọ́, ìwọ má ṣe pè é ní èèwọ̀ mọ́.”
And again the second time was to him, Those (things) which Aloha cleanseth make not thou profane.
16 Èyí sì ṣe lẹ́ẹ̀mẹ́ta; lójúkan náà a sì gbé ohun èlò náà padà lọ sókè ọ̀run.
This was three times done: and the vessel was elevated to heaven.
17 Bí Peteru sì ti ń dààmú nínú ara rẹ̀ bí òun bá ti mọ̀ ìran tí òun ri yìí sí, si wò ó, àwọn ọkùnrin tí a rán wá láti ọ̀dọ̀ Korneliu dé. Wọ́n ń béèrè ilé Simoni, wọ́n dúró ní ẹnu-ọ̀nà.
And while Shemun wondered in himself for what (was) the vision he had seen, those men came who had been sent by Cornelius, and inquired for the house where Shemun sojourned, and they came and stood at the gate of the court.
18 Wọn nahùn béèrè bí Simoni tí a ń pè ní Peteru, wọ̀ níbẹ̀.
And they called there, and inquired, whether Shemun who was called Kipha there sojourned.
19 Bí Peteru sì ti ń ronú ìran náà, Ẹ̀mí wí fún un pé, “Wò ó, àwọn ọkùnrin mẹ́ta ń wá ọ.
And while Shemun thought on the vision, the Spirit said to him, Behold, three men seek thee:
20 Ǹjẹ́ dìde, sọ̀kalẹ̀ kí ó sì bá wọn lọ, má ṣe kó ara ró láti bá wọn lọ, nítorí èmi ni ó rán wọn.”
arise, descend and go with them, not being divided in thy mind: for I have sent them.
21 Nígbà náà ni Peteru sọ̀kalẹ̀ tọ àwọn ọkùnrin náà tí a rán, ó sì wí pé, “Wò ó, èmi ni ẹni tí ẹ̀yin ń wá, kín ni ìdí rẹ̀ ti ẹ fi wá?”
Then Shemun descended to those men, and said to them, I am he whom you seek: what is the occasion on which you have come?
22 Wọ́n sì wí pé, “Korneliu balógun ọ̀rún, ọkùnrin olóòtítọ́, àti ẹni ti ó bẹ̀rù Ọlọ́run, tí ó sì ní orúkọ rere lọ́dọ̀ gbogbo orílẹ̀-èdè àwọn Júù, òun ni a ti ọ̀dọ̀ Ọlọ́run kọ́ nípasẹ̀ angẹli mímọ́, láti ránṣẹ́ pè ọ́ wá sí ilé rẹ̀ àti láti gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ lẹ́nu rẹ.”
They said to him, A certain man whose name is Cornelius, a centurion, who feareth Aloha, and of whom all the people of the Jihudoyee give witness, hath been told in a vision by an holy angel to send and bring thee to his house, and to hear words from thee.
23 Nígbà náà ni Peteru pè wọ́n wọlé, ó gbà wọ́n lálejò. Ní ọjọ́ kejì, ó sì dìde, ó bá wọn lọ, díẹ̀ nínú àwọn ti o ti gbàgbọ́ ní Joppa sì bá a lọ pẹ̀lú.
And Shemun brought them in, and received them while they tarried; and he arose the day after, and went forth, and proceeded with them; and certain of the brethren of Joppa went with them.
24 Lọ́jọ́ kejì wọ́n sì wọ Kesarea, Korneliu sì ti ń retí wọn, ó sì ti pe àwọn ìbátan àti àwọn ọ̀rẹ́ rẹ̀ tímọ́tímọ́ jọ.
And the next day they entered Cesarea: but Cornelius was waiting for them, while all the sons of his family, and the friends and beloved ones whom he had, were assembled with him.
25 Ó sì ṣe bí Peteru ti ń wọlé, Korneliu pàdé rẹ̀, ó wólẹ̀ lẹ́sẹ̀ rẹ̀, ó sì foríbalẹ̀ fún un.
AND when Shemun entered Cornelius met him, and fell and worshipped at his feet.
26 Ṣùgbọ́n Peteru gbé e dìde, ó ni, “Dìde ènìyàn ni èmi tìkára mi pẹ̀lú.”
And Shemun raised him, and said to him, Arise, I also am a man.
27 Bí ó sì ti ń bá a sọ̀rọ̀, ó wọlé ó sì rí àwọn ènìyàn púpọ̀ tí wọ́n péjọ.
And while speaking with him he entered, and found many who had come thither.
28 Ó sì wí fún wọn pé, “Ẹ̀yin mọ̀ bí ó ti jẹ́ èèwọ̀ fún ẹni tí ó jẹ́ Júù, láti bá ẹni tí ó jẹ́ ará ilẹ̀ mìíràn kẹ́gbẹ́, tàbí láti tọ̀ ọ́ wá; ṣùgbọ́n Ọlọ́run ti fihàn mi pé, ki èmi má ṣe pé ẹnikẹ́ni ni èèwọ̀ tàbí aláìmọ́.
And he said to them, You know that it is not lawful for a man a Jihudoya to attach to a foreign man who is not a son of his tribe. But me hath Aloha showed that I should not declare any man unclean or profane.
29 Nítorí náà ni mo sì ṣe wá ní àìjiyàn, bí a ti ránṣẹ́ pè mi, ǹjẹ́ mo béèrè, nítorí kín ní ẹ̀yin ṣe ránṣẹ́ pè mi?”
Wherefore I the more diligently came when you sent for me. But I ask you, on what account you have sent for me?
30 Korneliu sì dáhùn pé, “Ní ìjẹrin, mo ń ṣe àdúrà wákàtí kẹsànán ọjọ́ ni ilé mi títí di idayìí, sì wò ó, ọkùnrin kan aláṣọ, àlà dúró níwájú mi.
And Cornelius said to him, Four days are unto this from when, behold, I am fasting; and at nine hours, while praying in my house, a certain man stood before me clothed in white.
31 Ó sì wí pé, ‘Korneliu, a gbọ́ àdúrà rẹ, ọrẹ-àánú rẹ̀ sì wà ni ìrántí níwájú Ọlọ́run.
And he said to me, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thy alms have made memorial before Aloha.
32 Ǹjẹ́ ránṣẹ́ lọ sí Joppa, kí ó sì pe Simoni wá, ẹni ti àpèlé rẹ̀ ń jẹ́ Peteru; ó wọ̀ ní ilé Simoni aláwọ létí òkun.’
But send to Joppa the city, and bring Shemun who is called Kipha; behold, he abideth in the house of Shemun a tanner, which is by the sea;
33 Nítorí náà ni mo sì ṣe ránṣẹ́ sì ọ lójúkan náà, ìwọ sì ṣeun tí ó fi wá. Gbogbo wa pé níwájú Ọlọ́run nísinsin yìí, láti gbọ́ ohun gbogbo, ti a pàṣẹ fún ọ láti ọ̀dọ̀ Ọlọ́run wá.”
and he will come and speak with thee. And immediately I sent to thee, and thou hast well done to have come. And, behold, we are all before thee, and desire to hear every thing that hath been commanded thee by Aloha.
34 Peteru sì ya ẹnu rẹ, ó sì wí pé, “Nítòótọ́ mo wòye pé, Ọlọ́run kì í ṣe ojúsàájú ènìyàn.
BUT Shemun opened his mouth, and said, In truth I comprehend that Aloha is no respecter of persons:
35 Ṣùgbọ́n ni gbogbo orílẹ̀-èdè, ẹni tí ó bá bẹ̀rù rẹ̀, ti ó sì ń ṣiṣẹ́ òdodo, ẹni ìtẹ́wọ́gbà ni lọ́dọ̀ rẹ̀.
but in all nations whoever feareth him and worketh righteousness is accepted of him.
36 Ẹyin mọ ọrọ̀ tí Ọlọ́run rán sí àwọn ọmọ Israẹli láti kéde ìròyìn ayọ̀ àlàáfíà nípasẹ̀ Jesu Kristi, ẹni ti ṣe Olúwa ohun gbogbo.
For (this is) the word which he hath sent to the sons of Israel, and hath announced to them peace and repose through Jeshu Meshiha, -this is the Lord of all.
37 Ẹ̀yin náà mọ ọ̀rọ̀ náà tí a kéde rẹ̀ yíká gbogbo Judea, tí a bẹ̀rẹ̀ rẹ̀ láti Galili, lẹ́yìn bamitiisi ti Johanu wàásù rẹ̀.
And you also know by the word which hath been in all Jihud (which began) from Galila after the baptism which Juhanon preached,
38 Àní Jesu ti Nasareti, gẹ́gẹ́ bí Ọlọ́run ti da Ẹ̀mí Mímọ́ àti agbára le lórí; ẹni tí ó ń kiri ṣe oore, ó ń ṣe ìmúláradá gbogbo àwọn tí èṣù sì ń pọ́n lójú; nítorí Ọlọ́run wà pẹ̀lú rẹ̀.
concerning Jeshu who was of Natsrath, whom Aloha anointed with the Spirit of Holiness and with power: he who went about and healed those who were worn out with evil, because Aloha was with him.
39 “Àwa sì ni ẹlẹ́rìí gbogbo ohun tí ó ṣe, ní ilẹ̀ àwọn Júù, àti ni Jerusalẹmu. Ẹni tí wọ́n pa nípa gbígbékọ́ sí orí igi.
And we are his witnesses of all which he did in the land of Jihud and of Urishlem. This (one) himself did the Jihudoyee hang upon the tree and kill;
40 Òun ni Ọlọ́run jí dìde ni ọjọ́ kẹta ó sì fi i hàn gbangba.
and him did Aloha raise up on the third day, and gave him to be seen openly;
41 Kì í ṣe fún gbogbo ènìyàn ni o ri, bí kò ṣe fún àwa ti a jẹ́ ẹlẹ́rìí ti a ti ọwọ́ Ọlọ́run yàn tẹ̀lé, ti a bá a jẹ, ti a sì bá à mu lẹ́yìn ìgbà ti ó jíǹde kúrò nínú òkú.
yet not to all the people, but to us who by Aloha were chosen to be unto him the witnesses, who ate with him and drank after his resurrection from among the dead.
42 Ó sì pàṣẹ fún wa láti wàásù fún àwọn ènìyàn, àti láti jẹ́rìí pé, òun ni a ti ọwọ́ Ọlọ́run yàn ṣe onídàájọ́ ààyè àti òkú.
And he commanded us to preach and to testify to the people that this is he who hath been separated by Aloha (to be) the Judge of the living and of the dead.
43 Òun ni gbogbo àwọn wòlíì jẹ́rìí sì pé, ẹnikẹ́ni ti ó bá gbà á gbọ́ yóò rí ìdáríjì ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ gbà nípa orúkọ rẹ̀.”
And of him all the prophets testify, that whoever believeth in his name shall receive remission of sins.
44 Bí Peteru sì ti ń sọ ọ̀rọ̀ wọ̀nyí lẹ́nu, Ẹ̀mí Mímọ́ bà lé gbogbo àwọn ti ó gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ náà.
And while Shemun spake these words the Spirit of Holiness overspread all who heard the word.
45 Ẹnu sì yà àwọn onígbàgbọ́ ti a ti kọ nílà tí wọ́n bá Peteru wá, nítorí ti a tu ẹ̀bùn Ẹ̀mí Mímọ́ sórí àwọn aláìkọlà pẹ̀lú.
And the circumcised brethren who had come with him were astonished and amazed, because upon the Gentiles also the gift of the Spirit of Holiness was poured out.
46 Nítorí wọ́n gbọ́, wọ́n ń fọ onírúurú èdè, wọn sì yin Ọlọ́run lógo. Nígbà náà ni Peteru dáhùn wí pé,
For they heard them speaking with tongues; and they magnified Aloha. And Shemun said,
47 “Ẹnikẹ́ni ha lè ṣòfin pe, kí a má bamitiisi àwọn wọ̀nyí tí wọ́n gba Ẹ̀mí Mímọ́ bí àwa?”
Can any one forbid waters that they should not be baptized, they who, behold, have received the Spirit of Holiness as well as we?
48 Ó sì pàṣẹ kí a bamitiisi wọn ni orúkọ Jesu Kristi. Nígbà náà ni wọ́n bẹ̀ ẹ́ kí ó dúró ni ọjọ́ mélòó kan.
Then he commanded them to be baptized in the name of our Lord Jeshu Meshiha. And they prayed of him to remain with them (certain) days.
